Had a great time on this tour. Our tour guide Max was great, very funny and knowledgeable about Iceland and the locations we stopped at. We had more than enough time at each stop, plenty of time to take in the views and get some photographs. The tour bus was comfortable, especially seeing at this was a 12 hour tour. Would definitely recommend if it’s your first time in Iceland and you want to see all the views around this beautiful island.

Itinerary
Pick up from your accommodation or closest bus stop in Reykjavík. The pick up can take up to half an hour.
On the way to Snæfellsnes Peninsula, we will pass a wonderful little town called Borgarnes. The journey to this place is absolutely phenomenal – we will drive through a fjord and many scenic mountains. Borgarnes was one of the first places Norwegian Vikings settled when they arrived in Iceland.
Ytri-Tunga is a sandy beach that has a little secret hidden away down by the sea, behind the farmhouses… a seal colony! Seals love to spend their time on the rocks of this beautiful beach. They are friendly and curious and will climb up on the rocks for you to spot them from a distance.
On the south coast of the peninsula, there’s a village with only a hotel and a tiny black church called the Búdakirkja that sits alone among a field of lava rocks. Búdakirkja was built on the spot in 1703 and reconstructed in 1987 after a claim by a single member that lobbied to have it back. It has an historic graveyard, a bell and chalice from the time it was erected. It is a listed building, owned by the National Museum of Iceland, but it is in the care of the Búdir parish. Without a doubt, this picturesque chapel has a romantic air about it and is a real attraction to the site
Arnarstapi: Fishing Village- Our next stop is a small fishing village at the bottom of a mountain, with one of the most beautiful harbors in the country. This tiny fishing village has picturesque coastal cliffs which derived from glowing magma, hit by the wild waves of the Atlantic. Thousands of years later, erosion has formed beautiful stone arches and a remarkable marine geyser. We will visit the coastline as we share some extremely fascinating stories about Bárður, the half-man half-troll, and his stories in the area. Afterwards we will stop at a beautiful Gatklettur, also known as “Hellnar Arch”. Gatklettur is a beautiful naturally formed stone arch. Gatklettur is a spectacular place for photographers, and videographers.
A beach of black volcanic sand and stones where for centuries Icelandic fishermen rowed out to the fertile fishing grounds of the Atlantic ocean. Still today we find the so-called “lifting stones” which fishermen of yore used to test out their strength and prove themselves worthy of the physically straining life of Atlantic rowboat fishing. You can try to lift them yourself! In 1948 a British fishing trawler stranded on the sand reefs of Djúpalónssandur. Five men perished while 14 were rescued by local rescue squads. The remains of the ship are still there, strewn across the beach as an eerie reminder of the awesome power of nature.
The Lóndrangar are a pair of rock pinnacles in Iceland and are remnants from a bigger crater which has mostly eroded away. Looming over the entire southern coastline, Lóndrangar, a set of 75-meter high basalt pinnacles set the tone for what’s to come. They host a variety of seabirds, northern fulmars and puffins, and others.
This iconic narrow mountain has become the landmark of Snæfellsnes in recent years. It became famous after being presented as the “Arrowhead Mountain” on Game of Thrones. The erosive powers of the glaciers during the last ice age about 12,000 years ago gave this mountain its shape. Due to this unique look, it is one of the most photographed sights in Iceland.

Beautiful views on this tour! Max was the best tour guide, super funny and knowledgeable! The seal beach was incredible
Max was an amazing guide. He kept us entertained and also did a few extra stops along the way for us which was super nice! Highly recommend booking this. The views are amazing.
It is a long day! But Juliana did an excellent job corralling her group and maintaining an enjoyable tour. I would highly recommend any tour that Juliana leads. Wonderful day in spite of the rain. Thank you Juliana
Juliana was a great guide! Cheerful, kind, and informative. Recommned this tour to everynody~
Our guide Cora is amazing that she was always energetic and enthusiastic! It’s a long journey and the weather is so windy , she kept encouraging us and told us lots of stories about Iceland! Would highly recommend this trip! BTW her music list is so great!🤩 Love from Taiwan🤍🤍
Saw so many amazing sights! Long day but very worth it. Tour guide was very informative and friendly.
It was fun, educational & extremely knowledgeable guide. Thanks for making memories that will last a lifetime!
Haffi is honestly the best tour guide I’ve ever had! I was traveling solo in Iceland and felt that driving around by myself would be too much, so after thinking about it for a while, I decided to join a tour. I chose Troll because both my friends and some locals recommended it. I had seen quite a few negative reviews about Troll on Xiaohongshu before the trip, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but my actual experience turned out to be absolutely amazing! Haffi is very different from other tour guides I’ve had before. You can really tell that he genuinely loves what he does. Whenever we arrived at a stop, he would get out with us, enjoy the scenery, and even take out his own phone to capture the views! While driving, he also kept telling us about the places we were passing and sharing interesting stories. And it was especially funny and cute hearing such a big guy suddenly make these adorable little sounds 😄 I had such a great time with Haffi, and I hope he continues to enjoy and love what he does
We had such an amazing day with Corina! Her driving was super smooth and safe, which made the long journey feel effortlessly relaxed. She kept everything perfectly organized, gave us great insights at each stop, and was just a lovely, cheerful presence throughout the day. Highly recommend taking a tour with her!
Vidir was our tour guide and was incredibly helpful and friendly. Brought us around the spots as mentioned in the itinerary and the view was spectacular in each spots and very scenic. The Van was also comfortable and regular toilet breaks was very well plan and needed.
GREAT tour!! The tour guide took us to multiple spots with BEAUTIFUL scenery. Tour guide was professional, on time and good at driving. Thank you!
Thank you for the tour, it was excellent! The guide Branimir was very welcoming and ran the tour so smoothly, everything was planned perfectly. Thank you Bran for your positive energy and showing us the best of Snæfellsness! Monika & Gražina
Lovely tour with beautiful landscapes Many aspects of Iceland covered with one excursion It worth it! Excellent guide, very nice and warmly If the weather is sunny it is spectacular
Pickup was super flexible and the tour guide Haffi was incredible, a lot of cool stories which is what I appreciate from a day tour and also an excellent driver -Diego
Cora was an excellent driver-guide. Impeccable English with clear diction. Very knowledgeable and passionate about the trip.
Experience the views and landscapes of the north and entering the gulf . Very nice and worth the money only 140$ per person and pick up and drop included
An awesome experience! Love the guide!
Very good trips. The guide is very professional in geographic details of Iceland, bringing us lots of interesting stories.
It was a nice trip and our guide was good. If you have limited time in rejkyavik, then you should definitely doctrinal trip.
My recent experience with Troll.is on the Snaefellsness Peninsula tour was disappointing. The guide's attitude was poor, driving skills subpar, and the itinerary felt rushed. Communication issues in English further hindered the experience. Overall, I would not recommend Troll.is for future tours.
Great day out exploring the Peninsula. Absolutely loved the stories Oskar told us along the way. It was a fantastic insight into Icelandic culture. Each stop was different and equally breathtaking. We loved our day out 😊
Loki was so kind and fun guide ! He was passionate to please the tourists with humor and great music taste. Snaefellsness Peninsula was also beautiful area that you should visit when you come to Iceland.
We looked for a last moment one day trip to finish our vacation and we found the perfect location. Tanya was a wonderful host that explained to us lots of interesting information. We specially enjoyed the seals beach and church mountain stops, wish we could have spent more time on them. It is a long day excursion, but scenery and stops are well worth it. It was also something different from the usual single day excursions from Reykjavik that we could find, since it wasn’t one going to the south of the island. If you have time I recommend this little scape.
Rakel was amazing! She brought such a wonderful, positive attitude! Her passion for nature really shined! She took lots of pictures of us and shared which was really nice!! The tour stopped at lots of gorgeous places!
We had a terrific time on our tour today and I would recommend it to anyone staying Reykjavik. Our guide Rakel was great and I'm glad we ended up on her bus.
Rakel did took us on an excellent trip. She was knowledgeable about the places we went, told us about the significance, helped us understand the importance in both her life and Icelandic culture or history, as well as supporting us by taking wonderful pictures and showing us the way to see the most beautiful views. We are so lucky we had her!
I was in a group with Raquel, and she was really nice to us. She told us heart warming stories about the pebbles beach, and kindly helped all of us look for northern lights on our way back. This was not included in our itinerary but she did so many outside of itinerary things for us to make our experience more amplified. Good photo spots too. Cheers to Raquel and troll!
Although the weather is. very cold, and our schedule is quite tense, we have visited many places, our tour guide, she was very enthusiastic about everything, she give us an expected stops to a view point and also let us take a photo of the North ernlights, which is not a part of the schedule at all, she is locsl, and she shows us her belief and faith in all the energy that this place brought, which let me feel a really tight bounding with this place. I love the experience and would highly recommend everyone to try it
Long but fabulous day. Lots of short stops which we loved with enough time to take pictures and absorb each place. Hilde our guide was wonderful! It did get a little uncomfortable on the long drive home though with a full minibus but it's worth it.
Jacob is very polite and very nice! He is the best guide during my travel to Iceland and he drives well and talked a lot about the journey. Thank you very much Jacob
The best part of the trip was the guide! Absolutely amazing Jacub (hope to have written it right) who was well prepared and able to explain us the story of every place we visited. Time for resting, have lunch, use restroom and see the “attractions” was enough and well arranged in my opinion. Thanks again for today!!
Joined 1 day Snæfellsnes tour. Very strong gust, rain, snow for the first few hours. I'm surprised the tours isn't cancelled for obvious safety reasons. 2.5hrs to go and 2.5hrs back. In between was basically point to point Drop-off and pickups. Not much guiding. Driver spoke only the bare essentials. Vehicle condition is poor. Door hinges felt very damaged. Hard to open and close door, manually mind you. Driver did tried his best to drive safely in whiteout conditions at some places, with icy roads. But overall it felt a lot of money wasted. Tour finished 10hrs instead of 12hrs. Couldn't help feeling shortchanged.
Had a bit of hesitation initially when booking the tour, but it turned out far exceeding my expectations. We departed from Reykjavík shortly after 8am, and our driver / tour guide was highly motivated throughout the journey, engaging us with fun facts and history about Iceland (even if many of us were too shy to interact with her initially). She made a few extra stops just for us to take photos and get closer to nature. The view, without any doubt, was absolutely stunning like no others. Highly recommend this tour.
Was a wonderful tour!! A lot of iconic places!! I recomend it for anyone!! You can not miss this tour!!!! Juliana was lovely
Our guide Thales did a wonderful job keeping our tour fun and interesting. He knew the great places to go and the info to go with them. He was happy, friendly and interested in his passengers. Between stops, DJ Thales had all the tunes to pass the in between time. He had music of interest to a variety of people from different parts of the world. This was the best tour of our visit.
We did a full day tour with Max on the peninsula out of Reykjavik. Our guide was wonderful. He was warm, friendly, knowledgeable and thoughtful. The bus was spotless and the sights were amazing. We saw a ton and hit many iconic places on our route. Would definitely recommend this tour, this guide, and this company.
Katerina was awesome. However, this tour was too much time in a minibus, people getting back to the bus well after the requested times, no seals, crowded and uncomfortable minibus, and I could have one something much more fun.
Absolutely gorgeous peninsula! Every stop was special. Our guide was very knowledgable and kind. Would highly recommend this tour!
We signed up for a small tour of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, but ended up taking a large bus. The tour guide lacked even the most basic professional courtesy, driving with a blank expression and a stern face the entire way. He exceeded the speed limit several times, which was extremely unsafe and the car was jolting around in a frightening manner. He eats while driving. He did not give a detailed introduction or explanation of the scenic spots. Duration should be 12 hours, but only takes 10 hours which is cut 2 hours and arrives back early 6pm, and misses some attractions. Very disappointed with his rudeness and very unprofessional behaviour. My travel mood was completely ruined! The price is higher than other companies but the service is much worse. Regret for this tour on September 16, 25! It is not worth it. :(
We went on the Snæfellsnes tour, and it was the worst tour of the entire trip – a nightmare! If I had known, I would have preferred to lose my money and not go at all. They arrived an hour later than the time they told us, they said it would be a small tour but there were 20 people, and we got the last seats on the bus. The driver, who was also the guide, didn’t know how to drive – he actually crashed and hit curbs, drove the bus at excessive speed without paying attention to speed bumps, and we ended up with neck and head pain. The places they took us to were not worth it – the so-called seal colony only had one seal, the waterfall was nothing special, they took us to a church that was closed, and on the way back, the driver stopped to fill up the gas tank, which was very inconsiderate since everyone just wanted to get back. Terrible – I do not recommend it.
Be sure to be well rested as this is a long 11-hour day (picked up at 8 and dropped off at 7). The driver/guide, Hildy, was excellent. Such a pleasure that she spoke fluent American English (she lived in Ann Arbor for a dozen years). She entertained us with tales from the Icelandic sagas. And she was very conscientious with breaks for the bathroom. A caution-- this is not a tour for folks who do not walk well or have bad knees. My husband and I were probably the eldest customers on this tour (in our late 70's and early 80's). Everyone else was young. Several of the stops require negotiating rocky downhill paths. Getting down to the black sand beach was challenging for me. But the long walk at Arnarstapi was via a nice easy path.
Tour guide was engaging and informative. We saw many amazing sites. It was a long day, but the guide helped with the long bus hours by telling us about the culture, history, and places we were driving past and walking around.
Wonderful tour! Got to see so much in one day. Corrina was my tour guide and was great in being the guide and bus driver. She gave lots information and history during the drive and was very knowledgeable. It was a small bus tour which was great and everyone respected the time. Beautiful places that you must go see
This was an amazing tour. I highly recommend it. Our tour guide Korina was amazing and full of chat. She will take you on an experience that you have never had before.
The peninsula is amazing, with so many beautiful places to enjoy and learn about Iceland. Our tour guide, Corina, made the trip even more enjoyable and fun. She shared fascinating stories about the history and beliefs of Icelanders and recommended the best viewpoints to visit during our stay.
Bus was on time. Korina our guide was fun funny and very informative. We had a great time seeing the stunning views of the peninsula. Highly recommended
Carina is the best guide. Well prepared, experienced and the entire day was filled with special moments. She presented each location visited in detail, knowledgeable, passionate and dedicated.
Everything was amazing. Corina is an excelent guide.i think she was able to make us think of coming back soon. Great day!
We met Einurs from the port of Grunfjordur when we got off our cruise ship. He was offering a five and a half hour tour at a very reasonable rate. We had six people in his very comfortable minibus. He took us to see fantastic places and in that time we also did two short costal hikes with fantastic views. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. When we needed a little help on some of the paths , he was there with a helping hand. Near the end of the tour, as we had plenty of time before the ship was departing, he added on an extra hour and a half of sightseeing . All in all, we had an amazing day of touring with him
