Did this tour in October. Problems started before the tour- it wasn't easy to find the guide. She was at the meeting point but had absolutely nothing identifying her as the guide. What was strange was after we got to the Arena to pick up two people who had never found the guide she took out one of those poles with a flag on it so we wouldn't get lost-- I think if the guide was standing at the meeting point with the flag in hand it would be much easier to spot her. The guide made the statement that "this has never happened before" about 10 times on our tour and generally didn't seem to be happy to be on the tour with us. One of the ladies on our tour didn't want to walk down after the funicular ride to the top of the hill and this caused all sorts of problems with the guide. She was scolding the couple and telling them that they should have let the company know beforehand. Well, I don't think there is anything in the description about having to walk downhill, so I thought that wasn't necessary to scold the couple. While we were still up on the hill, someone didn't show up at the meeting point at the assigned time. At this point, we just decided to leave as well (but we did tell the guide). After hearing another round of "this has never happened before" we decided we were done. Tour needs a more thorough description of the length of the walk (I think it's 5-7 miles total) and guide needs to do a much better job of making herself visible at the start of the tour. We saw the tour going out the next day with a different guide, but I would not book this tour again since you don't know who the guide will be.

Mauro is a great guide. Very knowledgeable and personable. The tour is a little pricey for 3 hours.
Maria was a lively guide: patient, engaging, and great with our 3 boys. She had a nice pace of giving great info while moving at the same time.
Lots of steps/stairs Very informative guide Take a drink and maybe a snack or two Tour was around 2 hours
Wow! I honestly booked this tour because of Casa di Giuletta, but Paola our guide was incredible! We learned so much about the history of Verona and how there are so many different influences from different cities in Italy. This tour made us want to come back and actually stay in Verona for a few days as there is so much to explore and enjoy. I would highly recommend this tour as you will learn so much about what makes Verona so special. We will definitely be back.
Guide was quite hard to find and follow in busy town as had no tabard/ flag etc so easily lost in crowds of shoppers . Informative was limited and felt more info could be shared like telling us about the Roman ruins underneath Benetton shop - wasn’t even mentioned even though we walked straight past the shop! It would have been nice to had little bits of info as we walked around . The visit to the Arena was amazing even though we were left by our guide at the door inside as she doesn’t like heights! Really ! We were only given 10 mins and felt we could definitely had longer and given more info The visit to Juliet’s balcony was lovely and well worth doing .. the train up to the top of the hill was lovely with amazing panoramic views . We went back up there the following day to see the sunset- stunning ! Tour was a super day seeing Verona - would recommend ..
Bring comfy shoes. Monica was very informative, friendly and made it all so interesting. Really good tour and included the cable car.
This is a great tour to take when you get to Verona, it gives you an overview of the city. We had a wonderful guide, unfortunately, I can't recall her name. Her English was perfect and she was attentive and detailed. It was just enough.
Monica was a spectacular guide!!!
Our guide was Paula. The pick up and meet was easy. The experience was fantastic. Educational and helpful.I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Difficult to understand. Very little information shared. Walked through the city, which was nice but I learned more from Wikipedia. Pass. Also pass on Juliet's house. Tourist trap. Just walk by. Juliet is a fictional character. She did not have a house.
About 2 miles of easy walking over about 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Well worth every minute of it if you enjoy walking tours. First stop is inside the Arena. Love the technology, individual earpiece and receiver to hear guide so no missing out on key details or trying to cram around the guide. Our guide, Maria, has lived in Verona for over 30 years and provided lots of insider perspective and details most people would overlook. This really elevated the value of the tour. Thanks Maria!!
Have done numerous walking tours in various cities booked through Trip Advisor & always enjoyable Utter shambolic meeting point instructions on this occasion in Prague - 9.30 Sunday morning & the area was not busy - 3 of us arrived 15 mins early & walked round & asked questions of anyone we could find & tried to find group of people or flag or something We then got email saying our guide had left at 9.35 as we were late We were emailing Trip Advisor saying we are here - where is guide !! Fortuitously met solo traveller having same problem for 10am pick up on same walking tour (we’d been due to do the arena prior to others joining) Together we found group in obscure location - who also told us they’d struggled with meeting point Rest of walking trip fine - but spoilt by this frustrating start which was so unnecessary & not what I’ve ever experienced previously
It is a great way to get an overview of Verona. There is quite a bit of walking but Graciano was patient and flexible to meet all needs!
It was an informative experience and we learnt a lot about the history of Verona but would have loved to spend more time in the Arena, we only had 10 mins in the actual arena to have a quick look. Juliet’s house was extremely busy and it was very rushed to look through. Was a good day but over priced for what we received as part of our tickets
The worst tour I have ever booked! First of all, we had booked an earlier tour and could not find our tour operator. I contacted Viator, as our tour guide has turned off communication. We could have easily caught up. Viator was of no help. We were not offered help in rescheduling or a discount or anything. We rebooked our tour for later and our tour guide was late!! The guide was boring , with poor English. We repeatedly were told of Roman’s, marble, stone, brick and the earthquake of 1117. We stent a few minutes in the arena and we walked…..when we arrived at the venicular, the line was very long! So no skipping the line. We walked up to the palace/castle. We have no idea what it was or of its historical significance. Some in our hours struggled greatly. We went up, took photos and left. We did get to take the venicular down. We skipped Juliet’s because we had had enough. We learned nothing of Verona and were deeply disappointed with the tour and with Viator. It was a deeply disappointing tour that we paid for twice. In future planning, I may skip Viator and go straight to the tour providers. I received nothing for the marked up price.
Great tour by Mauro. Very clear, entertaining and knowledgeable about Verona's history and culture. The walking tour took us all around the old historic centre, entry to the arena and up the funicular railway to see a great panoramic view of the city from Castel San Pietro. As well as the historical aspect to the tour, we also learned about Verona life and food and drink specialities. There is an option to see Juliet's House too which we decided to leave to another day. It was really enjoyable and we can thoroughly recommend.
We had a knowledgeable and attentive tour guide. He covered the town centre fairly extensively. We would recommend the tour.
In just 3 hours or guide Paula showed us many great sites in Verona. She shared lots of knowledge and was enthusiastic.
The guide was very informative. Even though it was a long walk, it was at a at a pace that didn’t make you feel rushed but we still got to see a lot of Verona. Great experience highly recommend
Very good guide. English pretty good and easy to understand. She told us just enough detail. Was very concerned about keeping us safe. Great city tour
Comprehensive review of Verona including an Arena tour. Glad to see so much in one day. We enjoyed our guide on the tour. There was a lot of walking so bring comfortable shoes
What a fabulous walking tour, very enjoyable and informative. Our guide was a local and took the tour at a leisurely pace. Well worth it.
We did the 2 hour walking tour no food was involved, just walking…It was great, learned a lot about Verona. Thank you
That if you have any difficulties with steps, you might think twice about coming down off the hill. We love the view, but it was a little challenging for us because my husband was still healing from a knee replacement.
Another toturous, strenuous walking and standing tour but filled with a number of good points of interest. That's the deal. Soldier up or pass, your choice. Not for the weak.
This was nothing like we thought it would be- it was 1000 times better! If you’ve never been to Verona you must do this tour. Our guide was amazing and gave us so much information and facts about the area. I’d skip the entrance into Juliette’s house- but the rest was exceptional!
Exceptional tour of charming Verona! Best guide ever with Maria! Loved hearing the rich history of Verona.
This is an amazing tour of Verona on foot. Mauro our tour guide did an exceptional job of showing us all the highlights including the Arena, Bridge, River , Market but also included local insights into food, architecture, history and events that are worth visiting like the local rice festival and experiencing the music in the arena. Highly recommend with a bottle of water and walking shoes .
Very beautiful sights and great way to see the city from the top of the hill. Guide was good , humorous and knowledgeable.
The guide Mauro was excellent. You could tell he really loves Verona and he is very knowledgeable. The tour had a good variety of locations.
It was a very good and thorough tour. Very informative and interesting.
This is an amazing walking tour of Verona. Wear good shoes and bring a water bottle! Mauro is an amazing tour guide and answered all of our questions in addition to teaching us about Verona’s history, architecture, economy, food, and wine. Truly worth the investment of your time and money.
Such an amazing experience and a wonderful tour guide Manuela - I would absolutely recommend this experience
Mario excellent guide. Walking tour is comprehensive covering many sites and filled with interesting facts. Bring MOST comfortable shoes as you cover quite a bit of ground.
The tour covered all of the highlights of Verona with a very knowledgeable guide. It was enjoyable and informative
Morris, our tour guide, was excellent! He was so knowledgeable and it was clear he loves Verona and wants visitors to love it too, which we did. We had our 16 month old grandson with us and Morris was so good with him too, and made us all feel welcome. Would highly recommend this experience as we learnt and saw so much more than we would have done if we had just walked round on our own. Well worth the money.
Fabulous tour including interesting history. Morris was a wonderful guide who is passionate about Verona. Highly recommend this tour
Awesome time with 5 friends. Tour was great, wine was good. What more could you ask for! Guide was great at answering all questions too!
Morris was wonderful with our group and showed us not only the best geography of Verona but the history and interesting tidbits and funny anecdotes. He gave us tips on where and what to eat and left us with an immeasurable impression of this fabulous city. I highly recommend him and this three hour tour.
We enjoyed a walking tour around Verona with Maurice our Italian English speaking guide. He was excellent - lots of clear information made interesting with his delivery and humour. We learn loads about Verona. He took our group at a good pace to see everything promised. We loved seeing inside the Verona arena before we went for the Opera the next day. Walking through Verona to get to the Funicular was so interesting with all the different architecture and buildings, then we jumped the queue to go to the top in the funicular and we saw Verona from on high - spectacular view and he explained some of the other building etc, on the return walk down he explained the food and drink local to Verona, and where to find authentic food. We went back the next day to experience the "off the beaten track" local food - excellent. We did opt for the Juliet tickets but on balance wouldn't recommend, it is a tiny balcony and lovely house but with very little inside. It is a long walk so wear comfortable shoes and take a waterproof incase there is a downpour.
Fabulously charismatic guide who knew so much about his city and engaged totally with his group. The route, information and history was fascinating. Really got to know the city. Helped us in our own explorations after the tour.
What a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. I learned so much about Verona and its history. We really covya lot of ground and the tour was well worth it.
The best, covered a lot of ground. Worth every step. Visited areas we didn't find on our own. Morris was great. Highly recommend.
Great tour learning the history of Verona while meandering through the streets. Paula was an enthusiastic tour guide and made the 3 hours go very quickly. Felt off the tourist stops which was good although enjoyed the arena but Juliet's house a bit of a disappointment as packed. Cable car a nice detour. Went in the morning which was a good call as quite hot.
Wonderful walking tour of Verona! Our guide, Morris, was very knowledgeable and took us to many of the "places to visit" in Verona. Even though it was very hot we had an enjoyable time walking through the Old City area and learning about the history of different sites. Would definitely recommend this tour!
Our tour was excellent. Our guide was sweet and knowledgeable . We learned so much about the city and the culture of Verona. Loved the view from the cable car ride and enjoyed Juliette’s house. I wish I would have the name if our guide because she made it a great day!
This tour was excellent and I highly recommend. I think our guides name was Mario? He was fantastic. Explained everything clearly and spent time answering any questions and providing much local flavor. We loved our Verona tour and highly recommend it. Juliiet's (possible) balcony is worth a long range photo but not much else. Iwas not part of the tour. Enjoy the city, it was wonderful.. Lunch by the arena at the end of the tour was also excellent.
The tour was very informative and Maurio was knowledgeable and fun… we had a great day. Highly recommended
Very informative tour. Guide has great knowledge Verona history and especially the arena past and present
