Saw 2 archaeological sites. Very interesting. First one had a video to go with it, and the second below a monastery.

This is an awesome experience to learn about the history of Verona and the Roman Empire, as well support preservation.
Interesting opportunity to see the layers below the surface including a Roman home. Our guide Anna, was knowledgeable and friendly making the experience enjoyable. She has a true passion for her work and translate that well to others.
This was a great opportunity to learn about the underground archeological sites that have been discovered that tell of Verona’s early history. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their work and findings. We loved it!
Two locations led by the archaeologists who had excavated the area. It was absolutely fascinating and nice that we were with the guides that knew the most about the excavation. Learning about Roman era Verona was fascinating and engaging Would definitely recommend to anyone with that interest
The Verona Underground Tour was a fascinating and refreshing departure from the fictional story of Romeo and Juliet that Verona is so well known for. For anyone interested in discovering the city’s authentic history and archaeological heritage, this tour is an absolute must. The guides are exceptionally knowledgeable, drawing on decades of experience working as archaeologists in Verona since the early 1980s. Their expertise and passion for the city’s history made the experience both engaging and informative. I was genuinely impressed by how much historical insight and archaeological knowledge they managed to share in such a relatively short tour. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Verona who wants to look beyond the romantic legends and gain a deeper appreciation for the city’s rich and fascinating past.
How many tours are hosted by the archeologists who participated in the actual excavation? Incredible experience.
We learned alot about the underground city. It was so cool to see and be in a city that was built in the B.C. times!
History is always interesting. The second half above ground part was boring and we were surprised we didn’t see more archaeological excavations. We left early.
Very informative tour delivered by extremely knowledgable guides. Most of the tour was conducted by Maria. Not only did she have the information but it was obvious that she loved to impart it. She was wonderful.
Our guide Morena was fabulous. We've spent almost 10 weeks in Verona over three years and this was the best thing we have done in the city yet! She knew everything about the roman city and going underground at the two places we went was really amazing. And she let us practice our Italian! Grazie mille
Marie was very well informed and very knowledgeable,on the subject of the ruins. She interacted very well with the child in the group ,to make him feel more involved.
This was a very interesting tour, looking at some Roman archaeological sites beneath the city with actual scientists who worked on the projects. It’s a great way to experience more about the history of Verona.
The tour takes you to two underground sites in the city where you can see excavated Roman ruins. Our guide was an archaeologist who actually worked on one of the sites so was extremely well qualified and knowledgeable about both the sites and all the relevant history in general, plus a delightful person! This tour was fascinating and absolutely well worth booking.
Informative and fun. Simon and Marcia made it fun and engaging. They were a wealth of knowledge and didn’t mind all of our questions!
Amazing experience of real history of Verona from a real expert. We learned so much I only wish we had done the tour first. Wonderful to hear from someone who is still excited by what she does after 26 years. She was so much more knowledgeable than just a guide but also made it interesting. I would highly recommend it!
We loved this experience! The guides were so incredibly knowledgeable and the content was so interesting. I cannot believe that we were the only ones on this tour! I will admit that it that it would have been nice to have done this tour earlier in the day (A big suggestion for the company would be to consider all tour times in the later summer should be in the earlier morning - August was brutal to be out and about after 13:00) but I do not blame the guides for that. Even in the heat, they persisted and made the tour very engaging. I would suggest this tour to anyone wanting to know more about the history of Verona!!
Interesting tour. Had a distracting young child in the group which made it very hard to concentrate on the archaeologist talking and hearing what he was saying. Enjoyed it.
Maria was very informative and obviously very passionate about her subject. We learnt lots of interesting facts about Verona.
This was an amazing tour and learned a much more then we expected to. It is recommended for something to do.
The tour was one of the highlights of our trip. The guides were very knowledgeable about the excavations and the archaeological context of Verona. They were also great at answering questions from the group.
Maria was great and was very knowledgeable. She knew a lot about the artifacts and answered all of our questions. Great personality too!
Very interesting to hear so much about the history of Verona. Our tour was done by the archeologists themselves so they could answer all questions easily.
It was very interesting. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and explained all the historic items very well. It was a very worthwhile tour.
The tour of underground Verona presented a wealth of information about the archeological structures underneath modern constructions revealing the complex layering of the barbaric, medieval, & Renaissance periods. Me & my partner had learned from Maria the most surprising answers to the perplexity of archeological findings.
Fascinating. Excellent guides both of whom had worked on dig so had a brilliant perspective. Thoroughly enjoyable-well with it
Tour was brilliant and really rounded out our Verona trip perfectly. We gained valuable information on the history of Verona. The Archaeologist was brilliant and was even more special that it involved the person who did the excavations. Marzia was engaging and informative. We loved our tour and would highly recommend to everyone!
Fascinating glimpse below Verona - informative and interesting guides. Our tour was over two interesting sites.
What a fabulous 1.5 hours spent with two extremely knowledgeable archaeologists. They made the archaeology come to life and you could visualise what was there before. "If you see a hill in Verona then this excites us as we know there is archaeology underneath the surface" If you get the opportunity - book this tour!
This was a very informative tour. We learned a lot from two different passionate tour guides across two different archaeological sites. A different perspective on Veronese history.
This is a fabulous view into the past with a chance to explore a part of the city from a previous age. The two archaeologists have a deep history with these sites and were able to translate that knowledge in a simple and clear no rush way, with the diagrams and images at the start of the tour making the viewing of the remains of the Capitolium easy to understand. The basement of Palazzo Vimercati was a delight and gave added meaning to the city above the ground. Thank you both for a delightful experience.
The two tour guides are the archeologists who have spent their professional lives working to excavate the areas under Verona. Both were excellent, informative and vastly interesting guides.
The passion and knowledge of the archaeologist really bought the underground. Romain ruins to life - a fantastic experience.
Anna is an amazing guide and as a qualified archaeologist explained everything from first hand experiences. We loved learning about the history of Verona. It was extremely interesting and informative. Anna was, friendly, informative and passionate. We saw and learnt many interesting things about Verona. This tour is a must.
Excellent tour, to hear first hand from the archiologists who worked on the discovery of the ancient ruins is amazing.
Lots of information about the archeological history of Verona, but not a lot to see. Guides are actual architects. Bus
Great tour! Just 3 people in the group I was in, so we were able to take our time and ask many questions. The guide is a retired architect who has worked at the sites and knows a lot about the methods and history. She speaks English well and gave in depth and interesting explanations of the architectural sites in verona.
Tour guides were the archeologists that dug the sites. They are very knowledgeable. Able to see Roman and medieval sites up close.
This was one of the most interesting and engaging tours I've ever done. It was led by two retired archaeologists, who excavated one of the sites we visited. They were so enthusiastic and keen to share their experiences. They also explained clearly, and using illustrations, what the ruins/sites told us about the history of the city and its people. Plus, happily pointed out areas of interest as we walked between the two sites. Thank you both for a fascinating tour.
Simon and Maria were knowledgeable and friendly. We visited two sites in Verona and learned about the Roman ruins beneath the city. Maria also gave us lots of interesting information as we walked between the sites on the places we passed. We particularly enjoyed the final part where we saw remains of an old house, with flooring intact. Maria your English was excellent and thank you for showing us the extra bit at the end! Thanks to you both. Beth and Greg from Nottingham.
This is a really interesting tour, we learnt so much about Roman Verona. The guides are very friendly and informative and we highly recommend the tour.
We were so lucky to find someone as knowledgeable and passionate as Maria. Verona is her home and she loves the humanity you experience as she tells the story of Verona. Do the tour as it provides a basic glimpse of Verona.
The tour was really good. Our guide Maria explained everything clearly and passionately. We can only recommend it when you visit Verona.
This was by far the highlight of our Verona holiday. Our guide Maria was so knowledgeable, interesting and easy to listen to I could have followed her all day. Fascinating history of ancient Verona and how it changed through war, rulers and economic growth and prosperity. It was fantastic value for money given the expertise of our guide. The atmosphere underground is gripping, like looking back in time and being able to feel it all around. Even if you’re not a history buff, this is a must!
Really captivating and interesting tour underneath the streets of Verona. Simon and his wife were a wealth of knowledge, incredibly kind and generous with sharing all they knew about the Roman, medieval, and recent history about Verona. Highly recommend if you're interested in history and archaeology!
Very informative and the guide was amazing!! Shown parts of Verona that you would not have expected.I would totally recommend this tour
Fantastic tour! Our archeologist guide Marzia was extremely interesting and knowledgeable. We enjoyed every minute of our tour. Thank you Marzia for a truly memorable experience.
Interesting discovery of underground Verona, the remains of the Capitolium, and the ancient walls. Magnificently accompanied by the archaeologist Morena, who helped us appreciate a little-known view of the city.
This experience was as interesting as it was enriching, and even if you are not an expert in archaeology, everything was clear. It takes place first under the square where the meeting is held, then in the city in different places, and the tour lasts a good hour and a half. The two speakers are passionate and fascinating. I recommend it.
Very interesting moment, unexpected discovery. Very pleasant guide. Not to be missed.
