We enjoyed an excellent walking tour with our guide, Virginia. She is very knowledgeable and friendly. Our family learned a lot about Verona's history, notable sites, and local food and wine.

Itinerary
Go to the house that many worldly travellers have left notes seeking guidance and wisdom all in the name of love. Maybe one of the most romantic spots in Verona, said to have inspired Shakespeare's famous play.
Get to visit Piazza delle Erbe, that was once the town's forum during the time of the Roman Empire. Hear the heart-breaking story of the Well of Love and make a wish for true love to prevail. Formerly the town's main forum, now a lively square surrounded by restaurants, cafes and market stalls with fruits and souvenirs.
Admire the beautifully preserved Verona Arena and hear the incredible tales of this cultural icon. This is one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheaters in the world, which is still used for large events such as large-scale opera performances.

We had an absolutely wonderful time on our walking tour with Frank. He was incredibly knowledgeable and such a great guy too. As we began our tour with a coffee overlooking the arena Frank asked us what type of tour we would like. As it was our first time in Verona we asked for a general introduction but also concentrating on the history. We learnt so much we would not have known if it wasn't for Frank and it actually felt as if we had known him for a long time. 100% the best private tour in Verona as I can't imagine one being better.
Francesco wanted to make sure we knew the history prior to our walking tour. He wanted to know our likes but we were interested in. And then we set off on our adventure. Had a wonderful time. He’s a very terrific host.
Our tour guide was not available on the day, but sent another “Maria” in her place which was kind of her. Our Maria was an absolute delight from the moment we met her. We learned so much about the history of Verona, from the Romans to the families who influenced the culture and customs under various rulers and factions. Her manner was charming and made all the details more like “fun facts”. Would highly recommend this tour and if you’re fortunate enough to encounter “Maria” that will be a bonus. Thank you Denise and Sally
Barbara was knowledgeable about her beautiful city. She was able to answer all our questions, and even asked us why we thought an event might have taken place. Like your favorite teacher would to help keep you interested. We would highly recommend Barbara for a personal tour when in Bologna.
What a way to start a walking tour - thunderstorms in Verona. But any concerns about the background weather were soon swept away by Francesco's bright and enthusiastic love and admiration for his city and his ability to share it all with us. While the rain dampened down, Francesco's engaging stories about Verona didn't. He not only led us through, and demonstrated evidence of, the history of the city (including a visit to a department store to show us the ruins of portion of an ancient Roman wall within the shop, explaining to us how many Roman towns had been "built over" through the centuries), but also related the true stories behind the tales of Romeo and Juliet and the powerful families of the city and their contributions to the history of Verona. Starting with a visit to the Roman arena, an amphitheatre still in use for concerts today, through seeing evidence of some of Napoleon's time in the city, visiting the market, discussing how the City has rules to maintain its unique architecture and appearance and ending up with the (not so old) tourist attraction of Juliet's balcony, Francesco kept us interested and informed throughout the whole tour. A walking, enlightening tour not to be missed!
Francesco was a great guide and a lot of fun! We ranged in adults down to 11 years old and each member of our group had a fabulous experience with Francesco. He kept the kids interested and engaged and his true love for Verona really shined. We were very happy with our tour and would highly recommend it to others.
Francesco was an amazing guide for our day in Verona. He was a pleasure to be with and you can feel his passion for the city. He was wonderful about sharing Verona's history and his favorite places- and I can't recommend him enough.
Maria Pia was a wonderful guide for our multi-generational group of 5. She told us great stories about the history of Verona. She made sure we kept a walking pace that was good for us while still seeing as much as possible. She was so much fun and made our first day in Verona so memorable. We absolutely recommend this tour with Maria Pia.
Francesco was a superb guide. He combined a zest for a life with extensive knowledge of the history, art, architecture, and culture of Verona. His enthusiasm and love for his city was infectious. We learned so much and enjoyed his company tremendously. Do not miss a tour with Francesco.
We had a great day exploring Verona with Francesco! He was extremely knowledgable and tailored the tour to meet our interests. He also accommodated a later start for us the day of the tour. We would recommend this experience.
Francesco was the perfect person to welcome us to Verona and guided us through out the city so enthusiastic. He perfectly adjusted the tour to our needs and preferences but he didn’t missed to point out some real important things to himself, that he wanted us to know. It felt like walking Verona with a friend. And we really enjoyed every minute with him.
The whole tour was wonderful. Our guide, Maria, was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. She gave us real incite to the history of Verona and the sites we visited. It was a great experience and we really appreciated hearing the true story of Romeo and Juliet.
A story worth sharing ! We were visiting verona for first time. Our guide francesco (extreme right in photo) was punctual, very friendly & knowledgeable. He has special interest & affection in history of his town, also he has professionally studied history. We told him areas of our interest, and he curated a perfect walking tour. We felt like locals with him. Definitely recommend this tour. You ll enjoy. Gracia for lovely experience
This was an excellent tour. One of the best we’ve done in Italy. Francesco is a high school English teacher and loves the history or his city. The tour was interesting, lively and he took his cues from us with regards to pace and timing. Loved everything about it.
Sara was very knowledgeable about Verona. We learned a great deal and through Sara's tour, we were oriented to the city. We enjoyed touring with her.
The tour guide was good, but I paid for a private tour but got a group tour instead. I should have received a refund for the private tour
I can't say enough good things about this tour and our guide and now friend, Francesco! He made the whole experience informational and fun. He is genuine and very caring to make sure the tour is suited to your interests. There were 4 of us and we all agreed this was our best tour during our stay in Italy. I highly recommend this tour and especially Francesco.
Loved Maria Pia in Verona! Full of stories and so animated in the telling - her knowledge of the history and architecture were most impressive. I would do it all over again!
We throughly enjoyed our tour with Francesco on June 10th! His exuberance, passion and knowledge of All Things Verona exceeded our expectations! It was a great afternoon of fun!
Francesco is lovely and very knowledgeable. Sadly, he missed our originally scheduled day and time for our tour. Luckily, we were flexible and went on it the next day. Unfortunately, the tour was 2 vs. 2.5 hours long and did not include a snack as stated. It was rushed.
Maria Pia was animated, enthusiastic about Verona and told great stories. A great way to learn about the history of Verona.
Valeria was willing to meet us the day I called. Very personable and knowledgeable. A great your at a reasonable price.
A very enjoyable visit, a local guide with professionalism and conceptual clarity: with his own local links to access points from where to look, he taught us to observe how much beauty this beautiful city hides far beyond the common places for tourism: unmissable . highly recommended.
Maria pia our tour guide was excellent. Took us to shop at best location for wine 🍷. Very informative. Went the extra mile.
We made a day trip to Verona from Venice in September 2022. This was our first visit to Verona and now wish that we had been able to spend several days there. Our tour guide, Francesco, was a delight. He took time at the outset to determine our main interests and general familiarity with Italian history, culture, etc, in order to better tailor the tour for us. We could not have had a better experience. Thank you Francesco.
Francesco was a great guide. Very entertaining and knowledgeable. Took the time to understand our preferences and planned the route together with us.
Our guide wasn’t who we expected, but Virginia was friendly, knowledgable and pitched the tour and pace perfectly. More information was given about what interested us (including an impromptu wine tasting) and we were lucky enough to see a bride arrive for a rather glamorous wedding when we stopped for a rest. The free included drink didn’t materialise, but maybe because we did the wine tasting (which we tipped the shop owner for). The time passed quickly and we covered a lot of ground. There wasn’t anything Virginia didn’t know the answer to, and she even recommended and booked our evening meal for us, which was fabulous. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this tour - just one thing, the whole cost was taken when I booked even though I opted for paying a £1 deposit and settling 24 hours before the tour.
Fabio was excellent….made the whole tour really interesting with feeling. Verona is a beautiful city with a wonderful history.
Amazing tour if you want to discover all Verona’s landmarks and best corners in a short amount of time. Very knowledgeable guide. Totally recommended
Sara was a wonderful, engaging guide for our highlights tour of Verona! She was great about messaging prior and she was also very flexible with us having to change our start time to meet her. Sara answered all our questions (she is a genuine "local" from Verona) and was very patient with our kids, and has a real passion for her city. We enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend getting to know Verona with Sara!
