My partner and I were the only ones on the tour so we felt like we were on our own special tour! Our guide was young and energetic but also very knowledgeable about the area and the wineries we visited. The wineries were small and unique in their own different ways. We enjoyed hearing about their history and approach to wine making. Of course, the wines were delicious. The tour included an amazing lunch at a local ristorante. We truly enjoyed the day.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had the most incredible private wine tour with Pegasus Wine Tours during our stay at Lake Garda, and I genuinely can’t recommend them highly enough. From the very beginning, Aurora was absolutely fantastic. She was incredibly responsive, so helpful, and went above and beyond to create the perfect itinerary for us. My mum only drinks white and rosé wines, while I was keen to experience Valpolicella, so it wasn’t the easiest brief! Aurora took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and somehow created the perfect balance. Nothing was too much trouble, and her communication throughout the booking process was exceptional. On the day of the tour, we were looked after by Michaela (who told us to call her Mickey), and she was simply outstanding. Her knowledge of the region, the wines, the history and local culture was incredible, and she made the whole day so enjoyable. It felt like spending the day with a friend who happened to know absolutely everything about Lake Garda and the surrounding wine regions. The itinerary Aurora put together was perfect. We enjoyed a wonderful authentic Italian lunch at a local restaurant full of Italians—which is always a great sign! The food was absolutely delicious. The wineries were equally unforgettable. One was run by two sisters, and it was such a special experience hearing their story and tasting their fantastic wines. The second was a small family-run vineyard that we almost certainly would never have discovered on a larger group tour. It felt exclusive, personal and genuinely authentic. We also spent time exploring the beautiful town of Lazise, which was the perfect addition to an already amazing day. Everything about the experience was seamless, personalised and thoughtfully planned. If you’re visiting Lake Garda and are considering a wine tour, don’t hesitate to book with Pegasus Wine Tours. The attention to detail, the quality of the itinerary and the warmth and expertise of both Aurora and Mickey made it one of the highlights of our entire holiday. Thank you both for such a memorable day. We’d book with Pegasus again in a heartbeat!
From booking to the day of our tour we had a wonderful experience with Pagus. They were very responsive and I highly recommend booking directly with Pagus (as opposed to through trip advisor) to get exactly the experience you want. Our family did a tour with Anna to two small family wineries then had lunch and had a wonderful time. We have two small children and Anna was so welcoming and patient, in addition to being knowledgeable about the area/wine. After the wineries, she took us to a great lunch spot that had great views. Overall it was a great experience.
Davide took us to discover Valpolicella, he was an excellent guide both on history and curiosities of this beautiful area. After visiting some characteristic places (S. Maria in Valverde and the stone quarries of Prun) we went to visit the historical cellar of Quintarelli family. The founder's grandson showed us the appassimento of the Amarone and Recioto grapes and the cellar, telling us the story of this family deeply tied to these wines. The tasting took place in the barriques and old vintages room. We tasted 6 red wines: one better than the other. Davide stayed with us to answer our questions and curiosities. Then we went to have lunch at the Enoteca della Valpolicella: a place where traditional Verona cuisine is presented in a modern way: we ate (and drank) very well. We also visited San Giorgio Ingannapolton: one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. If you want a taste of the excellence of Valpolicella, this is the tour for you!
Wonderful tour with a knowledgeable guide that spoke very good English. The lunch was tremendous! The staff at the wineries were kind and helpful when it came to ordering cases to send home. We had our young child and they were able to accommodate her. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great wine tour.
Our guide was excellent! Martina was informative, interesting and friendly. Vini Gamba winery has an outstanding view. Our guide was the winery’s daughter. She was so very informative, interesting and amiable. We tasted 3 wines. Their Amarone was so very NICE!! Two thumbs up. The second winery, Valentina Cubi, made organic wines. The owner, Valentina, was very passionate and knowledgeable about wine making. It was quite an interesting experience. We had the most delicious lunch at Enoteca della Valpolicella!! The set-lunch was quite unforgettable.. Every dish was made to perfection!! The service was outstanding as well. This tour is so very worth your time. Don’t miss out!!
Very pleasant day visiting small family run winery and a larger winery. Both had excellent tastings. Lunch followed the two tastings. I thought we were to visit a third winery after lunch, but we were returned to Verona. Guide was English speaking and very knowledgeable.
Excellent tour, great guide. The wineries we visited were very good and the families were welcoming and informative. lovely lunch, very enjoyable day
Spent an amazing day with Eva exploring the local wine area. Great knowledge of the process and history. Excellent wines and an even better lunch.
My wife and I were staying in Venice but wanted to make a visit to the Amarone region so we booked the Two Wineries and Lunch tour with Pagus. So glad we did! The train from Venice to Verona was inexpensive and easy to arrange and it was a short walk from the station to the meeting point. Our guide, Laura, was exceptional. She spoke perfect english, was funny and engaging and was exceedingly knowledgeable about winemaking in the region. She also drove the van! The group was three couples of different ages and nationalities, which made the discussions lively and interesting. We visited two small-production wineries, toured their operations and tasted their products. We were the only visitors at each property and had plenty of time to ask questions and make purchases. We finished with an outdoor lunch at a beautiful hilltop osteria, sampling local dishes (the risotto Amerone was amazing) with, of course, more wine. We were back in our hotel in Venice by1900 with memories to last a lifetime (and a few bottles to take home). Grazie, Laura, for a wonderful experience.
We spent the day with Laura in Valpolicella, and it was a unforgettable experience from the start to the end. This trip can’t really be described, it has to be experienced. We looked forward for this trip for a long time, and it met all our expectations. Laura was the perfect host, and the hosts at DolceVera and Le Brignele at the same level, so friendly and welcoming. The lunch at a hidden Italian pearl was the perfect ending to our day. We will come back, even only for the tour!
The wine tour was outstanding. Our tour guide/driver was excellent Her name is Laura. She was knowledgeable and informed about the vineyards, types of wine we would be tasting and she was very attentive and personable. The two vineyards provided excellent information, detailed tours and very wonderful wine tasting experiences. Both provided food and water. The vineyard representatives spoke clearly and answered all questions. After the visits we had lunch in a charming restaurant. The food was traditional for the area and extremely wonderful. This tour is definitely worth the expense and not to be missed.
I simply don’t have words for how great this experience was! My friend and I was on vacation in Verona and thought that a wine tour was something we had to do, and thank God that we chose Pagus because I was beyond my expectations. We were picked up from in front of Castelvecchio and then drove to, first, a small family owned winery and then a medium sized winery before we went to a local Osteria where we could order three courses and have wine with our food as well. It was very cool to be able to see the difference in the size and the way they did things in the small and medium winery. We had lovely local guide who drove us and took us to the wineries, and then each winery had their own guide who talked us through the process. There was also cheeses and salami/ham to go with the wines. At the first winery we tasted four wines, and at the second we tried two whites and five reds, if I remember correctly. The lunch at a local osteria was very nice, there was actually a bachelor party there simultaneously. They had great food, and it was located somewhere you would never be able to find on your own. I was so great, you guys, and something I would do again in a heartbeat! This because there are so many wineries, and each tour includes new wineries. If I go back I will definitely go on another tour - well worth the money. Thank you, Pagus, for such an incredible experience.
It was a great tour. Great wineries, and really personal attention. We also had a spectacular lunch sitting outside in a covered restaurant.
We had a wonderful time with Pagus and our guide Ilaria was great! They were very accommodating as we had some specific wineries we wanted to visit and she also took us to a couple delicious ones that weren't on the list. Plus, our lunch at one of the wineries was exactly what we wanted - local, fresh fare. We highly recommend this tour!!!
We took this full-day tour with Laura as our guide, and it was very enjoyable. Laura was very knowledgeable about the local wines, and she took us to 2 women-owned wineries in the area. Both were very interesting and very different from each other. After the winery tours we had lunch at a super restaurant, also accompanied by wines. Our group consisted of 8 people, which is the perfect number.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the local wine and towns outside of Verona. The tour was brilliant from start to finish - from the transport to our exceptionally knowledgeable tour guide and the amazing wineries we visited. It was definitely a day to remember and the highlight of our weekend in Verona!
We had a great day out from Verona with Pagus Wine Tours - visited 2 wineries with tastings and a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Great day out and travel through the countryside and vines.
What a great time and value. 2 wineries with in depth tours and tastings of great wines. Lunch with outstanding food and wine pairings. Laura was wonderful. Highly recommended.
Pre-tour: My husband and I love Valpolicella wines and already knew quite a bit about Amarone before our most recent trip to the area; however, we wanted to introduce our friends--who had never experienced Valipolicella wine before--to the region. We decided to book a wine tour so we all could enjoy wine tasting without one of us having to be the designated driver and our favorite winery, Cantina Spada, recommended Pagus. I emailed Davide with only a couple of days notice and he was able to accommodate everything we wanted--a stop at Spada, 2 other wineries, full lunch, and room for our pup. We were originally booked for tastings at 2 bigger/more commercial wineries, but found out the day before that they did not allow dogs. This was no problem, within hours Davide was able to find 2 smaller wineries who allowed our pup to join in on the fun. We are SO glad the 2 bigger wineries did not allow dogs because we were introduced to 2 new, amazing, family-run wineries--wineries we would have no idea existed. Tour: We were picked up right on time by Sofia and immediately we loved her. She was very knowledgeable and approachable (and speaks perfect English) and provided even more detail on the wine-making process than what my husband and I already knew. By the end of the first tasting, it felt like she was the 5th member of our group and not "just" the guide as she has a great sense of humor and a laid back personality. You can tell she is passionate about the wines in Valpolicella and we really enjoyed spending the day together! I really can't say enough about how great Sofia was as a guide, as well as someone to just eat delicious food and drink delicious wine (even though she was not able to partake in the wine) with.
Yesterday we went on a one day Pagus wine tour to Valpolicella to taste some great wine. Laura was our guide. She took us to two amazing wineries: Dolce Vera and Salvaterra and we had a delicious lunch at Antica Osteria Paverno. Laura is absolutely the best guide: extremely knowledgeable about the region and about its great wines, and a very attentive, caring host. And the wines we tasted were absolutely delicious. This is a tour you should definitely not miss!
Good communication prior to going on the tour - meeting point easy to get to from our hotel - guide on time - very friendly, had lots of great information on the area and easy to understand and listen to. The choice of the two wineries were excellent and would complement whoever does the selection as whilst both were equally as good very different as well. We were the only two on the tour but the hospitality and preparation at both vineyards was fantastic - lunch at local restaurant was exceptional - very very impressed and would do again if ever in area - many many thanks
My wife and I made a brief stop in Verona while traveling across northern Italy. We love Amarone, and it is so difficult and expensive to get back home in NYC. We sought out and found Pagus here online in order explore Valpolicella and enjoy the magnificent wines, and they delivered the best day to us! Davide was so helpful from the start. We were picked up on time from our hotel by Sofia (our guide) and Francesco (driver). We learned about the region from them, enjoyed a delicious lunch at an Enoteca, and shared many laughs and stories. They made us feel so welcome that I would rather call them friends after spending the day with them. We did a full day private tour which might be a lot for some people...not for us. It was great! We had exclusive tours by appointment at each vineyard. We walked about the entire faciliy at each place, learning all about their history and wine making process. We even met one of the winemakers and spent an hour sampling all that they had. Having done tastings in France, Napa, Sonoma, and L.I., I can report to you that we have never been treated so well. I could go on and on, so I will just say Thank you and good luck to David, Francesco, and most of all Sofia! You made our trip very memorable. We will be back! We recommend to all! BK and Nat
We had a fantastic experience on this trip together with an English couple. The guide Marthina was absolutely unique. After taking us on 2 vineyards with great completion of tour / tasting of Amarone, Ripasso, Valpolicella Classico ++ wines then we drove off to a local restaurant that served us a 3 dishes lovely lunch. In the conversation, she said that her family also ran a Nicolis vineyard nearby. Then she took us to them and we got an extra tour of the farm with information about production etc. with full wine tasting. The trip can definitely be recommended. Excellent!
Vintur again with Pagus, we were 4 boys gone in 2017 that was excellent, therefore we had to have another trip here in 2018, again we were the same 4 boys, 2 days with private trip both days 3 vngårder with lunch both days, it all worked just perfectly, there was nothing missing, everything lived up to last year's trip and more, we will definitely come back next year again. Ps. Great thanks to the best guides Sophia and Laura, they are really cute and really good guides who have things in hand.
