We really loved the Wine Tour. It ended up being just my wife and I, so it was like a private tour. First we visited a small village in the Valpolicella region where our guide gave us a brief overview of the village and wine making history in the area. Then we visited the Mazzi Vineyard in Negrar, which was absolutely magical. They have been making wine for over a century and it remains family owned and operated. The wines we tasted were spectacular and we toured the vineyard to see how they make their wines, which was truly unique. Love every minute of it. We highly recommend this tour.

Our hostess Petra was so knowledgeable, professional, and sweet! We enjoyed the wine tour very much in your beautiful Verona! So much fun! And k owlets about the the history! Thank you thank you!!!
Our tour guide, Andrea and host Marta were knowledgeable, interesting, and gracious. The whole half day was worth it.
We had a wonderful experience on this semi-private wine tour! Our driver and guide was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, accommodating, and welcoming throughout the entire experience. The winery host was equally outstanding and made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The tour was both enjoyable and informative, providing fascinating insight into the winemaking process and the wine industry. We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a memorable and educational wine experience!
A very well organised tour to the family run Corte Zardini winery. The tour was designed for a small number of people which made it more personal. Our driver was local and knowledgeable and we were hosted by Marta who is the sister of the winemaker and extremely knowledgeable. The wines were excellent and it was a pleasure learning about them as well as drinking them. The food matching was good too and the whole experience was calm and unhurried
Wonderful few hours! Our guide (Anna) was really lovely, bright, interesting and easy to understand. The time at the winery was extremely educational. Our host was gracious and knowlegable. It was great having an opportunity to try some delicious wines and send some home! I highly recommend this experience
A great introduction to local wines with a chance to see the countryside around Verona. Our guide, Anna, was enthusiastic and very communicative. Marta, in the winery, also provided a lot of information in a very friendly way. A real highlight of our stay in Verona
We did two tours with Pagus. The cooking class was exceptional. The vintner, chef and Pagus staff were friendly and attentive. We made ragu sauce, pasta and tiramisu. We also had a wine tasting. Then we got to eat the fruits of our labors. The tour to Lake Garda was great. The boat captain was knowledgeable and explained what we were seeing. Then we had a short walk through the town of Sirmione. The Pagus staff were friendly, on time and helpful.
Delightful, love seeing the old Church. The winery and wine tasting was good. Loved tasting the different wines and 0live oil.
Wow what a beautiful experience. Got to be around a new company making wine and it was truly an inspirational story. They are a growing business and you will see their wine world wide soon. What a blessing to be part of a young company. The guide was amazing she was very knowledgeable and was so kind to our group. Was very comfortable to walk and see the panoramic view. Thank you so much Verona.
We visited a small scale winery and had an introduction from the owner. He only spoke italian but thank to our excellent guide Michele from Pagus who translated for us it was a good experience, The red wines we tried were very good and Pagus organises safe shipping to Sweden. We also visited a very old church on the way which was interesting.
Really nice tour, some excellent wine and snacks from a small family-run vineyard. Your guide was very friendly and helpful
An excellent trip to a small family brewery where the passion for wine is very apparent. We have visited a number of larger wineries around the world which can be a bit 'process driven'. This one was the best yet. we were guided by one of the family which gave an intimate insight into their lives working on their wines. Highly recommended!
Very good wine, beautiful views, Marco was great. We met people from Finland 🇫🇮. Good conversations.
A wonderful tour into wine growing regions with a knowledgeable guide and very small group. We sampled 5 wines and nibbled on local meats and peaches.
An unexpected delight in a hot sweaty Verona. Being transported to the Valpoleccielo region was the best as we didn’t want to drive to a wine tasting experience. The vineyard we visited, Fugolo, was a family run business and Sophia (the daughter of the current wine maker) was so lovely. We had a tour of the vineyard and their peach trees followed by a delicious wine tasting of one white, one rose, three reds and a sweet wine. Cold meats, cheese, bread, slices of nectarine and blackberries were also served in addition to their delicious biscuits made from their grapes. I couldn’t recommend this more highly!
Honestly the best vineyard excursion ever. Roberto and Sophia are brilliant hosts and guides. You learn a little, you taste a little and you love a lot! A brilliant experience. Highly recommend!
Reservations were easy to make and we arrived 15 minutes before tour left. Our guide, Manon, was friendly, knowledgeable, an excellent driver and she spoke English, French and Italian. There was one other couple besides the 2 of us. The scenery along the drive was beautiful. The winery she selected was small and intimate. The owner sat with us and we enjoyed 5 bottles of wines among the 5 of us…of course, the driver does not drink. His valpolicella and amarone were delicious. Weather was sunny and mild. There was a sudden downpour when we arrived back in Verona and our guide graciously offered to drive us directly to our hotel, which was unexpected and very much appreciated. I would highly recommmed Pagus.
This wine tour was wonderful. The lady that booked it was friendly and accommodating. Our guide was charming and friendly. We went up to view the area from a view point up in the hills which was stunning. We then visited a winery where the sisters who run it was so engaging and passionate about their vineyard. We had a tour and a chat and then they took us into the newly constructed wine tasting rooms, where we had plenty of room to get comfortable before being served lots of delicious wines, cheese, meats and breads, whilst listening to them giving us a talk on the wines themselves. We met some lovely people, enjoyed the calm and relaxed afternoon. I would highly recommend if you have a few hours free.
An excellent tour for wine lovers. The Pagus tour guides Anna and Francesco were very friendly and knowledgeable of the Valpolicella wine region. Savoia winery owner Marina was very welcoming and friendly. Marina explained the different processes for the Valpocella wine categories. The wine tasting was excellent.
We had an enjoyable time on this tour but I was left wanting more in terms of wine. Our guide/driver was nice. The first part of the tour takes you up to a cute little town where you will overlook the Valpolicella Valley (which is beautiful!), learn about the town, but not get to drink any wine. We did visit one winery, San Rustico, and we loved it! Our host was fantastic and we really enjoyed the wine and snacks (and the wine for purchase there was very reasonably priced)! We enjoyed the tour, but for that price and time commitment, seems like there's room for two wineries vs. one (or maybe even some wine at the shop / meeting place to kick off the day).
The driver was so nice and was very knowledgeable.. the wine tasting was nice, but snacks were very slim. Just small bite. And not much..they need to express that in the tour. Without eating anything and it being 3 hours. And for the price. Needed to have some bread or something better. Besides that, it was enjoyable.
We loved our tour and tasting, it was the perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon in Verona. We were lucky enough to go and visit the Franchini winery, a small family-run business. Both our driver and the host of our wine-tasting were fantastic, very welcoming and we learned so much about the Valpolicella region and the wine itself. We sampled five different wines, you're also able to buy and ship bottles if there are any you really enjoy, but there was no pressure at all to do this. I'd really recommend this tour, rain or shine, it's a great way to spend half a day.
Beautiful country side, visited lovely little church which had been prepared for a wedding, so even more quaint. Wine tasting excellent, owner very informative without being in the least pretentious. Snacks very generous so happy bunnies we were. Driver and vehicle excellent and scenery out of this world with Lake Garda way in the distance. First class.
Great afternoon out. Very informative, with a friendly guide and great local wines to sample. Would highly recommend as a tour
A lovely experience. All staff, tour guide and wine expert were very polite, friendly, extremely knowledgeable and made everyone feel welcome. A fantastic afternoon out and we were definitely richer for the experience. However, we were a little disappointed at how little wine you actually get. Around 6 small samples (probably a glass in total) considering we paid £77 per person, you don’t get much for your money. The first part of the tour was an insight into the history of the vineyards in the area and a visit to the grounds of a historic church. A nice touch, but it’s clearly a way to ‘beef up’ the tour and kill some time. Everyone in our group was eager to head to the winery and sample the wines. This part of the tour could be replaced with more time in the actual winery. All in all, a lovely 3.5 hour excursion, but over priced considering what you actually get.
The whole experience was truly wonderful. I treated my parents to the Valpolicella half day trip and they thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. It was well structured and insightful but I believe we got the jackpot with our tour guide, Bernadette..!! She was welcoming and accommodating from the outset and could not do enough to ensure the whole group was involved and comfortable. 10/10 and will definitely re visit. Thank you Bernadette x
very well done and as described. our tour guides were exceptional and the vineyard we visited was top notch. So much so that everyone in the group shipped wine home. Nice job.
Anna and the owner were excellent. Its very informative and a fun afternoon. Think that the church visit could be dropped.
Excellent afternoon wine tour into the valpolicella region with our guide Anna who was brilliant. We loved the stop at San Georgio village and then onto the Franchini winery where we met Sonja and tasted the wines and toured the vineyard. The wines were excellent and we devoured the Amarone, the Ripasso and the Azzardo. We really learnt a lot from Anna and Sonya about the wine making methods and explanation of wines from the region which were detailed and helpful - they really know their wines! Overall a great experience and highly recommended
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed our time with her. The winery was very good. The tastings were very good.
Had A very Nice trip to Valpolicella smal town and a visit in the lokal church. The visit at the Franchini Vinery was fantastic. The guide Sonja explained and guided Us around in the cellars was all the time open to answer our questions. excellent! Tasting and snaks was better than excpected, ended with shopping wine to bring Home. And our driver and guide Elisabetta from Pages Vine tours was fantastic. Recomend the tour.
Our tour guide, Elisabetta, was wonderful. She drove us first to a pretty town on a hill with a beautiful view and lovely church. Even though it was raining, we all enjoyed the first part of our tour. She then drove us to Franchini Winery. We then had Sonya give us a tour of the winery which has an interesting history. She was very knowledgeable about the wines, had a great personality and answered any questions that the group had. The wines that we tasted were excellent and all three generations of our family had a memorable experience. We would highly recommend this tour.
Took a half day wine tasting tour from Verona to vapollicella region with another couple. Ariana competently drove the mini-bus while giving us an intro to the region and it's history of wine-making. Stopped in a lovely Hamlet in the hills and visited a church, parts of which date back to Roman times. Then went to a winery where a knowledgeable staff member led a tour of the wine-making area then hosted an informed wine tasting accompanied by cheeses and breadsticks. A very enjoyable afternoon led by two very competent and personable young Italian women.
We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tour with Anna our tour guide. We went first to a hilltop village in Valpolicella which had stunning views of the countryside - we could see all the way to Lake Garda. The village parish church dated from c. 10th century ad and the cloisters were interesting. We could not go in the church as a wedding was in progress - we watched the guests and bride enter the church - an added bonus. Anna explained the process of wine making in Valpolicella which was very useful . Then we went to a local independent vineyard where the owner Cynthia explained the process of cultivating the vines and making the wine and showed us the different grape varieties. This was extremely enlightening as each stage in the process was illustrated . We saw the grapes and got to smell the first press of the wine . Then we had our wine tasting with snacks and water. Cynthia explained all the differences between the different types of wine produced on site . This was really great for the appreciation of the qualities of each wine. It was all in all a marvellous experience - the expert guide Anna , the stunning views of the wine growing area and the warm welcome and expertise of Cynthia at her vineyard made this a memorable time . Highly recommended for wine enthusiasts.
In spite of a very hot day, we had a great afternoon tour. Anna, our guide, was warm, informative and very personable. The views along the way were special and the air-conditioned van was critical for this hot day. The small family owned winery was so interesting and the owner's tour was a real glimpse into the life of running this family enterprise. The wines were delicious and we learned a lot. Great day!
Lovely guide-very skimpy servings and hugely overpriced. Randomly a couple brought their kids along to our tour. Although they were pretty well behaved it wasn’t great for those wanting to enjoy a relaxed grown up experience. The tour guide really should have stopped this. The guide was a lovely man, very knowledgable and the church we visited was nice. The visit to the winery was poor. It very much felt like it was an inconvenience having us there and the portions were appalling! 1 piece of salami and a crumble of cheese per person, accompanied by 5 tastings of wine, each so tiny that it wasnt really even possible to get a good idea of the flavours. The final tasting, the host basically ran out of wine and I got literally a thimble from the bottle. I assumed she would open another buy nope-that was it!! All in all each person received less than a glass of wine for the tasting in total and barely any snacks. They also produced their own olive oil on site-when one of the party asked to try some-they were totally ignored-flat out NO! I’ve been on other wine tours before and they have been relaxed hospitable experiences-this one was purely transactional. Sadly I would not recommend it.
Lovely tour of a winery and really enjoyed the tasting session. The young man at the winery was very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic
The area was beautiful but our guide was very weak. Talked soft while driving and even bring only one row back was hard to understand. Guide didn’t seem very confident in her topic. The winery owner did a good job on explaining their process and the type of wines. We have had a good amount of tours in our first three weeks of travels all being quite good. I can not recommend this tour. Makes me sad to say but the value was not there.
We did the Amarone and Soave trip, red and white wines at two wineries. One small, where the siblings who owned it were busy in the office and packing the wines themselves. Got to taste 5 or 6 wines and a vermouth and then we moved on to a much bigger winery where we tasted a few reds. The hosts and Elizabetta from Pagus made it fun, though the hosts at the larger winery weren’t as generous with their tastings. We were lucky because there were only us and another couple who were good fun which made for a fun afternoon. Would recommend!
We chose this tour based on other recommendations and it did not disappoint. We booked at the store in Castelvecchio, also where we were collected and dropped off. Staff were all fantastic. Well worth it.
This was a memorable tour, as we were the only couple with the tour guide. The guide was very knowledgeable, with a background in archaeology. We toured the vineyards and got some nice views before visiting an excellent winery, where Emma led us through the process of making Amarone in the old and new ways.
Anna was a wonderful guide. There were 6 of us-4 from my family. The drive to the winery was beautiful & she shared facts about the countryside. She answered our questions in an interesting way
The tour was amazing! Starting in Verona, a lovely tour guide takes you out to a local village where you can see the way the vineyards are aligned before taking you to a local winery. The tour is very informative and the wine tasting is definitely good value for money!
Anna was a great driver/guide. Her knowledge of the area and the wines was superb. We visited the Benedetti vineyard and had an additional tour of their archaeological site. The wine tasting and food was very good and we were offered extra wine should we wish. Anna gave us an extra 45 minutes at the vineyard as no one needed to get back in a hurry to Verona.
Very interessting! We want to know something about the valpolicella landscape and history. Davide knows a lot about the history and other funny facts about Verona and the villages. The wine was great - we love it. Thanks for all. We'll come again 🥰🇮🇹
The actual winery is amazing and the tasing was great. The views from the valley where the grapes are grown is beautiful, but the drive to the valley and vineyard kind of felt like an add on Because the winery itself is so close to town. Maybe a little more info in the vineyard to make that part more substantial would be nice.
When you are this close to wine country in Italy, it really would be a shame not to go visit. With Pagus Wine Tours, you will have a fantastic trip. Even on an afternoon trip, we were able to see San Georgio della Valpolicella and its historic church and visit a small family winery for a tour and tasting. It only takes about 20 minutes to get there! Anna is a great guide, knowledgeable about the local history and the wines. She will make the afternoon for you. The tasting at the winery was special too; they tasted us on their whole range of red wines from Valpolicella from the Valpolicella DOC through to their Amarone aged in oak. A great way to spend the afternoon - don't miss out! A couple of suggestions - I would try to schedule this during the week; I went on a Monday. It wasn't crowded, but our guide, Anna, told us that it can get crowded on the weekends. Secondly, don't be afraid to contact Pagus if you are a solo traveler. I couldn't book a tour on my own (2 minimum), but they were kind enough to work with me and add me to another small group of 2 couples and another solo traveler.
It was great to go to S Giorgio, the view, and the church, are exceptional. The garden and vineyards at the winery were beautiful. We loved the wine tasting, we learned a lot.
Anna was informative and explained lots of information on the vineyards and San Georgio - lovely place to stop. The winery itself was interesting and wines and snacks delicious it was great to meet the winemaker he was passionate about his work and really enjoyed his talk. Only thing I would say is that walking through the vines themselves and seeing his olive trees rather than just going straight into the storage area would be better also it was expensive compared to other tours or vineyards I’ve done.
