Good experience, a must see in Verona and this was a great option with self guided audio tour. Good value for money, only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is we were asked for photo ID, this was not advised at the time of booking and we did not have any, luckily the guides allowed us in when we could prove who we were with our Facebook profile!
Verona is a MUST. We packed in all we could for a weekend trip. Juliettes balcony was amazing. Boat trip to lake garda on the sat was brilliant. Eating out an ecperience. Shopping brilliant. Book it up as soon as you can.
Try and avoid times when guided tours are present. It gets very busy. Straight in with no queuing and the reception staff very accommodating. Overall a really good experience whilst in Verona.
Tickets through Viator were a different time than they had at redemption site. By 4 hours!!! It said audio guide in Viator tour description. Nope! You basically walk through the house and garden area! Not worth it! I would like compensation but Viator doesn’t respond!!!!
We had trouble downloading the app for the audio but wouldn’t have been able to listen without headphones so decided to go without it but there isn’t a lot of information available inside the house so assume everything is on the audio guide
I know there's a lot of hype around Juliet's house and some people say it's not worth it... I, for one, really enjoyed it... Remember to bring pen and paper if you want to write a letter to Juliet!
Finding the location for the tour start after turning in voucher was a little difficult. And the audio content wasn’t available until you turned in the voucher. My content never downloaded. I attempted for an hour then my time slot on the tour started and I had to join the queue. I had no tour content. Just walk through the castle. Which was nice. But not informational. I think a discount is in order. I wouldn’t recommend.
The page rest when I was looking my tickets and it changed the date. When I realized that it was for the next day and not the day I picked I wrote asking for either a refund or to just have the booking date changed. It was not even 10 minutes after I booked. I was told, sorry nothing we can do for you. Even though it was literally right away. Do your research, book directly with the venue. This is a scam.
This wasn't a trusted site to purchase tickets. We purchased 2 adults and 3 kids under 17. When we went to pick up the tickets, they said free under 5. I questioned this and was told it would be fine. It was not fine. At the entrance we had to purchase the tickets for my three kids. I would have paid for them when we booked our tickets but it said kids under 17 were free. When its really kids under 5. The tour itself was nice. It was just frustrated to have this extra hickup
It definitely was not worth what was paid for the “experience “.
Very cute, timed tickets kept the crowds outside so you really got to see all the displays in each room. The audio guide was helpful too.
We had a great time and it was so convenient to skip the line! We chose not to do the audio but still felt like we got a lot out of the experience. The statue outside was fun! We were there about 45 minutes in total, but could have spent more time.
This is a poorly executed attempt at capturing the essence of the Juliette story. Actually, I'm not sure what the curators of this house were trying to convey. It is a missed opportunity to share the romantic story and theatrical history of Romeo and Juliette. There are literally displays with no explanation. On each floor there may be 2 to 3 displays with NO proper labeling. Save your money and visit the courtyard and take a picture with Juliette's statue. There's also an area where you can leave a note and/or locket.
We didn’t like it ! It was too crowded Too many people going in at once ! It seems as they book too many people at the same time!
I think it’s almost mandatory for an English Lit grad, specialising in Shakespeare, to visit Juliet’s House, so I’m pleased I went. However it is really a tourist trap, with the courtyard overcrowded with people who barely understand what they are looking at. The villa’s exterior is marred by graffiti and torn pieces of paper, as letters to Juliet. The interior doesn’t contain much unless you are interested in film sets with the best parts being the ceilings and murals and the 4th floor with some pieces of crockery as well as excerpts of letters from Charles Dickens.
Something you have to do in Verona. Ticket collection was easy from the luggage storage centre. Museum was quite interesting.
Good audio guide, and easy entry to Juliet's House. Juliet's house was not crowded but the courtyard was packed. So getting into the house would be easy without this ticket but I love information and the audio guide provided that.
Very good experience and some interesting things to see in the house. You can really see Juliet standing on the balcony talking to Romeo
I would just book tickets directly. We had to go to another site to pick up tickets and then download onto our phones the audio tour. No where (that I saw) said this the audio would require our personal devices and we didn't bring our headphones/airpods and struggled to download the app with spotty service (not their fault for that, but would have been nice to be able to do this at the hotel before we left when we had better connectivity)
Interesting but not my favorite one in Verona. To much people and not much to see. The building is medieval but that’s it. Buy the way, the balcony it a tourist product and not a real part of the original building.
This was a great way to see the place where the story began. The audio self guided tour let us go at our own pace and let us explore all four floors. The audio is an app that you get on your phone so be sure to have your earbuds.
So happy I booked this experience. Fast entry inside Juliet’s house to view not only stand on her iconic balcony, but see several rooms with beautiful pieces contributing to the lore of Juliet. You can also view angles of Juliet’s balcony from different floors of the house. If you have the opportunity to go, add this experience to your trip!
You are given a voucher by Viator and must find and redeem it at a different location to the house. This is not made known to you prior to payment. The audio tour comprises of scanning a QR code with no headphones provided. Loved the house itself.
The house itself is 4 floors so expect to climb stairs. If you’re a fan of the story and history of it, it is totally worth it. They have art throughout the home and props from the 1960s movie. I definitely would recommend.
You need the ticket in advance and go in the door of the courtyard to the building to get the ticket. Do not wait on the long line that is for people without advance ticket. You can get Shakesphere and there is commentary by Dickens but as to the Italian authors - original story or Italian librettist for the French opera non ce niente…..I don’t know why. Between this story and the rip off of the Decameron (Chaucer)- Italy loses its culture to the English….
We did the audio tour and it was enough time to hear and walk through the house independently. My only suggestion is to have a a monitor have the tourists line up in an orderly manner to take the picture with the statue of Juliette
Great to see but very busy and don’t bother with the audio guide. You can see the balcony for free. Also, frustrating that the tour operator didn’t just send tickets. The bar code from their email had to be redeemed at a different location.
It was a little difficult to find the office to get tickets. It’s a small office hidden off the street at the back of a courtyard. Also early is better and weekday was less busy. If you want nice pictures have someone go to the 2nd or third floor to take pics through the window of the balcony with someone on it.
DO NOT BOOK WITH VOX CITY INTERNATIONAL! The place itself is great - the issue is with the operator - the shop we were advised to collect the tickets had a sign on the door saying "closed - gone travelling". The rep at Juliets House told us this had happened to someone else and they directed us to another shop. We collected our tickets, returned to Juliets House, only to find that there were no audio guides left - presumably none had been reserved for us! I've contacted provider to request a refund- the response was that we should have downloaded audio guide in advance - but that was not clear on confirmation - and that we were late.....we were by about 5 minutes but only because we had to to and fro to find the tickets!! DO NOT BOOK WITH VOX CITY INTERNATIONAL!
A good way to beat the queues at this popular spot. The audio guide around the house was short but added some extra detail to the venue.
We book all our tours on Viator as we thought they were all pre checked out. My family and I were sold an audio tour which normally means a headset piece. It was self guided which was ok but on arrival got told to download an app to listen to the tour and then was advised the wifi was down. Maybe this should be told upfront so customers can download the all app and bring thier ear pods
Really cute stop. Be sure to book early as it gets very crowded anytime after 9am. We took our photos off the balcony and shopped at the gift shops near the house.
The application (Pop Guide)asks you to download the audio guide of the tour in advance. I tried several times and it would only download 95% and it would stop there over and over again. When we arrived to the place to exchange the QR's for the actual tickets I asked the lady to help us. She couldn't. We were not able to hear anything because of it. The guys at the entrance of the attraction they said that everyone complains about that app. I paid almost 20$ more per person just for the audio guide. Very disappointing
The good news is all the floors are back open for viewing. So the tour took about under an hour. You definitely do not need two hours for this. It’s a little hectic having to get your ticket printed at a different location then go and hand it in at the entrance of the house. The day we went it was raining and very chaotic so the skip the line was worth the price. However, the crowds weren’t really being managed well so it was very difficult to get pictures in the courtyard and the experience wasn’t the best due to the chaos. Lastly, the audiobook requires an app download which I didn’t have and couldn’t get because of lack of phone service so we didn’t get to listen to the audio portion of the tour which is why I took off a star.
Skip the line option is well worth it, as there was a big crowd on the regular line, which was stretched into the plazza
Don’t use viator use the official website. I was charged full price by viator. The house was undergoing renovation. There was only one room open. No audio. What should have been 2 hr experience took less than 5 mins. Was refused a refund. On second attempt was given 6 euros back. Pathetic.
Fast track pass definitely needed the queues to this very are in sane. Not a great deal to see but worth it. Would advise one of party takes photos from outside when you are on the balcony. Everyone very friendly it is a must do
The fast pass is a great way to go as the line to get into the courtyard is extremely long. We were able to get in quickly and have our turn to get a photo with Juliet’s statue. We were not advised that the courtyard was full of scaffolding and the top 2 floors of the museum were closed for renovations. We may have reconsidered spending the money on the admission had we know we would only have access to the gift shop and the first floor of the museum where the balcony is located.
The office which gave us the QR code had no WiFi. It took us more than 30 minutes to download the app. The lady told us to get outside to get better phone service but it didn’t help.
We had a great time! The ticket made is easy for us to get into Juliet's House with the big queue. It was a lovely experience, I'd recommend as its really good for a couple of hours out to explore on your own with the audio
This experience was nice but felt like we could have done it more easily on our own. The audio was not intuitive to use and it is a self guided tour. It was helpful for easy entry into the house, but the tour takes 40 minutes tops instead of the two hours the tour recommended.
Not a good experience. The audio didn’t work well. And as far as I could tell it didn’t match what we were physically seeing. Not that much there. The display descriptions were sowmtimes not readable.
The house has four floors. Interesting to see the bed of Julia, the ballroom and of course the famous balcony. Interesting are also the paintings Shooting Stars and Death of Juliet and Romeo by painter Angelo dell’Oca Bianca.
My wife absolutely loved it. The audio tour was insight and believable. There is so much more than the courtyard. The history of all the various artists and writers added to ambience of the castle. The pictures you take from the balcony are the final magical touch. I highly recommend.
The house was really nice however the courtyard was too busy. We didn't realise you could access the courtyard without a ticket but we enjoyed this anyway.
We’re Shakespeare lovers and this was a lovely place to visit. Very pretty architecture, nice statues and museum. Also great to skip the line because the queues were busy.
Lots of money for almost nothing and if you want to take a picture of the balcony you have to pay extra. In short: money beating☹️
We all know the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet, and going to the wonderful city of Verona, the house of Juliet we should visit. By downloading an app, we can hear at every point the parts of the story of the house that inspired Shakespeare to write his work. There is also an interesting mural where there are posters of all the film adaptations. To finish the famous balcony where it is almost mandatory to take a selfie
Impressive house, balcony, and Juliet statue just like in the pictures. Unfortunately, it is very touristy; even to enter the courtyard to the balcony, an admission fee must be paid...
