Watching the glass-blowing demonstration in Murano was one of the highlights of our trip to Venice. Seeing the artisans transform a glowing blob of molten glass into beautiful artwork right before our eyes was incredible. The craftsmanship, skill, and speed were amazing to watch. The workshop itself was authentic and welcoming, and it gave us a real appreciation for the centuries-old tradition of Murano glassmaking. We enjoyed browsing the showroom afterward and ended up purchasing a beautiful crystal necklace as a special souvenir. If you’re visiting Venice, I highly recommend taking the time to visit Murano and watch a live glass-blowing demonstration. It’s a unique experience and a wonderful way to bring home a piece of Italy.
Awesome experience, very attractive price for a demonstration of 30-40min and several techniques. Nice presentation and really good moment, we truely recommend it !!!
Highly recommended. Fascinating to watch, and only one other family when we went, so it felt very special. Very easy to find, only 2 mins walk from the vaporetto. Amazing value for money.
Great authentic experience and workshop demonstration. Pieces are beautiful and affordable. They ship worldwide as well.
We went up past the larger glassblowing factories near the Ferry pier in the south off the island, to find this little gem. For only 10 euro for two of us we received a personal exhibition of the supreme skills of the glassblowing Master and his apprentice for 8-10 years to see if they make the grade. They made 4 pieces in about twenty minutes and you could take photos no problem. They made a xmas bauble and showed the colouring process on a tumbler, Then they made the most amazing figurine of a horse, absolutely a mind blowing watch from the glass blowing Master. Finally they made another fancier xmas bauble, around this time another couple came in and we left gobsmacked at the ability we had just seen, so fancy, so quick. Another thing that we found to be good was there was no hard sell either for the tour or in the two fantastic gallery/shops that we went round. The items also seemed quite reasonably priced and not rows of similar little items, they certainly seemed more bespoke and unique items. So enjoyable this was that we heartily recommend here for your more authentic glassblowing displays.
Unfortunately our train was beyond late and we were not able to make it on time😔we weren't able to reschedule
Nice guys, no pressure to buy, kids loved it. Nice show room. We were the only ones there on a Saturday when Coronavirus was getting active, and they gave us lots of attention.
This is the place where you are shown how a glass is processed and is made into masterclass artifacts. The adjoining showroom has a huge collection of artifacts at various prizes.
The demonstration is sub par. There are 2 people at the demonstration: the glass master and his narrator. Well the narrator barely spoke. You can count the number of sentences with your 2 hands, if you get what I mean. Also, the the glass master only uses plain glass for the demonstration. I was under the impression that they would demonstrate the 'Murano' style of making. If not, what's the point of going to a murano glass making demonstration if you gonna show the same technique of glass making which is employed in the rest of the world? All in all, definitely not worth the 3 euros. Even though it is not much, I would rather spend it on gelato than this.
Great for gifts and you can ship home . Make sure you shop around as there is lots to look at and buy .
We were not sure as to what to expect but were pleasantly surprised as to the deomonstation that took place. Very informative as to the process and a good variety what can be done, multiple items made during the demonstration.
We watched our master craftsman create some glasses, and when his demonstration was about over he just stuck in his tube in the molton glass , pulled out a blob. mashed it around a couple of seconds, uses his tongs and starts pulling abit and viola in 3-4 minutes a horse........ then he just throws it back in the molton glass like its no big deal....wow.
LOVED IT! The kids really enjoyed watching the guy sculpt the vase, the horse and the fish. I was also blown away by it all. No pressure to buy from the shop, I took my time trying to choose one pair of earrings, I ended up buying two. Highly recommend if you are in Venice to go over to Murano and check this place out. You won’t be disappointed.
When we visited Murano, only two factories were doing demonstrations due to the hot weather. We happily paid EUR 3 each for a fantastic demonstration of glass blowing at this factory. They made a vase and a horse and it was truly amazing how they achieve such intricate detail. They explained the process in a way we could all understand and catered for English and Italian speakers. I won't spoil the grand finale but it was great fun. We were obviously encouraged to leave via the shop but there was no pressure to buy.
I came here as part of a day tour. Basically, we were rushed into a steaming hot workplace, obviously hot from the several glass furnace in the room and told to sit on some uncomfortable step like seats. Next a man worked on some glass over the fire while another slid from English to Italian to French which was super confusing. The whole thing was to demonstrate how the glass items were made. It was pretty fascinating but it was too hot in the room and the demonstration was too speedy. After that, we were then rushed into the store to basically get us to buy souvenirs. I noticed several of the items were pricier than the items sold in Venice. Overall, it’s nice factory to visit.
We came here as part of a three island tour. The demonstration was short and with added commentary was informative. We then looked around the museum/shop which was interesting. We were only on the island for around an hour which was more than enough to take in all the glass museum had to offer.
Saw the good reviews and thought this would be a good place to check out. The individual we had was a bit abrupt with his delivery. He could have been better which would have made the rating higher. This area is off the beaten path so to get there and take the time needs to be valued. The glass blowing technique shown was interesting and informative.
We were here for the June 2nd long weekend: the kids loved the show (complete with photos and a little gift at the exit). I also highly recommend a stroll through the shop with so many cute things for every budget, perfect for getting gifts for yourself and others. What will always remain in my heart, however, is the kindness of Michela and Beatrice. Thank you for this experience!
You can't go to Venice without taking a tour of Murano and seeing the master glassmakers at work. We ploughed the island a little to see where there was such a possibility compatible with our schedules and I must say that luck brought us in front of a real Venetian artist. Seeing him at work was really interesting; the delicacy and mastery with which he created the objects left us all speechless. Very interesting and professional even the explanation made during the master was at work. At the end we bought beautiful glasses, expensive but of great quality!
It was a good experience, they are two gentlemen, one works the glass, the other helps him and explains the process in several languages, Italian, Spanish, English, French. Simple things, just a demonstration for tourists, if you want a more personal, more professional visit because it is a subject that interests you, know the most elaborate, more artistic process, where they make sculptures, more complicated pieces, you should look for another studio, another laboratory. Repeat is good experience for tourists, they are gentle. They've got their shop selling beautiful things.
Beautiful environment of people who do this work for true passion. Nicoló gave us the true love for this world and it is not something you see every day! All beautiful
Recommended by a Venetian friend, it was a wonderful experience. Avoided those at the disembarkation who are looking for you in every way to bring in their glassworks, we headed to the Guarnieri glassworks, 1min from the vaporetto line "Column C". The workshop saw the holiday period was "closed" but a master was there to make demonstrations to tourists passing by, continuously, the only difference compared to a working day is that then the objects did not pass into the oven for cooling. The ovens can never be switched off, even during the August holiday period. Both the teacher and the assistant very helpful to answer any questions, on our arrival there were foreign tourists and gave explanations in both English and Italian. If you bought a day ticket for the vaporettos, take a tour of Murano, it is worth it!
We have seen a demonstration of glass shaping. It was fascinating ❤️. Our 10 and 6 year olds loved it and we also enjoyed it very much. We were quite few in number, which made it possible that we stayed almost 1 hour on site. We were therefore able to witness several faconnages. The fact of being few also allowed us to ask all our questions, we learned a lot thanks to the explanations of the glassmaker. Congratulations to him for his incredible craftsmanship. Really a must qd we are visiting Murano 😍 5€ per adult, children free. we went to see their store following the demonstration, we appreciated the fact that at no time, we were in a hurry to make a purchase. The staff gave us explanations about some achievements but without any forcing to get us to buy, it is appreciable
We found ourselves by chance to see the demonstration of glass processing, warned by a gentleman just arrived in Murano. The glassworks is a few meters from the arrival of the vaporetto, the demonstration lasted about 15/20 minutes, for a cost of € 3.00 (they charged only my son) A master glassmaker, supported by his helper , created live objects, while the owner gave explanations about it. My 10-year-old son liked it a lot and I found it cute too. At the end of the demonstration we were invited to take a ride to the glass shop, but nothing more ..... politely and without insistence.
Impressive demonstration of how to blow glass. In 3 minutes they create a beautiful piece of art in glass under your nose. Recommended 100%
This factory is very close to the vaporetto stop, so it is very easy to get there. The demonstration only costs 3 euros, and lasts about 15 minutes in which they form between 2/3 different figures with the same glass that they reheat again and again. They also have a shop in which you can buy all kinds of accessories, keychains, hoops, bracelets, trays, plates, etc. It is a nice stop to get to know the art of vitrofusion.
If you are family with children it is the right place to see a fantastic demonstration of glass, the staff is friendly and friendly, they sell beautiful glass objects perhaps the best on the island. Great value for money. MUST SEE THE DEMONSTRATION
It is curious and very interesting to see live the process of creating a piece of glass from incandescent material
Demonstration of Murano glass work. At a very affordable price you can enjoy up close the creative process of two sample figures.
Treated with little kindness, the few explanations we got only against our questions. They couldn't wait for us to leave. Negative experience.
Fast and efficient demonstration. The master glassmaker makes 2 objects to show the technique. 3 euro l in. Exhibition and shop without forcing the purchase! Have a nice visit
The person who welcomes is friendly, makes the effort to speak French and in 15-20 minutes you see different stages of Glass Processing! All for 3€! What more can I ask for! The children / teenagers found it very interesting and so did we, to do on this island dedicated to glass.
