It was okay, we expected more information would be shared with us about the history. Couldn’t hear her and felt like we could have learned more from the guide. She was very friendly though and kept us on track which is hard to do with a group.
Tour guide was exceptional... she was very knowledgable and tailored the tour to our needs. We learned so much about Verona. We highly recommend it!
A very knowledgeable guide who showed us the main sights of Verona and gave us a good introduction to the history of the town,
The guide was quite hard to find , she needed a tall pole with VIATOR written on it! She was a very lovely and knowledgeable lady, well worth doing this trip.
It was ok. The host was nice but looked tired and unenthusiastic. A little hard to understand at time and did not answer our questions about bars to recommend. When we have had city tours before, it is nice to have someone fun and enthusiastic and engaging. Expensive for the average experience.
The tour was great! Martina did an amazing job, showing us the secret gems of the city and the main landmarks She is very knowledgeable and funny! 10/10
We really enjoyed the tour! the explanation was great ! and got to see a lot in Verona! the Tour Guide was really kind !
A really informative and interesting tour by Laura, we walked through parts of Verona that we probably would have missed on our own, she walked us through routes that missed most of the crowds and made the the tour really enjoyable.
Laura was my guide and she was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I learned a lot and we were able to do the tour in about 1 hour and 45 minutes!
What an amazing experience! Laura is so knowledgeable and we had the best time. Highly HIGHLY recommend.
My Sons in Retirement Group had a wonderful and most interesting tour of the Mission Dolores neighborhood in San Francisco with City Guides Walking Tours. Our docent, Joan Scott was energetic, passionate about her subject, and even added her own life history as it related to the area. From the golden fire hydrant to the wonderful murals, victorian homes, and the beautiful park this neighborhood is steeped in the history of San Francisco. I highly recommend City Guides, and touring this district. Ask for Joan as your docent . She was great!
Laura's historical knowledge was outstanding, so interesting & informative! Just the right length of time & pleasantly unhurried.
The food, wine and the people we met from all over the world. The wine store and tasting was terrific. We enjoyed Lorenzo very much.
The historical facts and humorous anecdotes as related by our guide. Being a group of only 6 meant that there was plenty of interaction between the guide and each participant
Our guide Luisa was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and committed to her home , Verona. We learned so much from her and felt perfectly set up to enjoy our stay in Verona !
We had a wonderful tour with Louisa. We learned so much and have a deeper understanding of Verona and its history. Thank you for a fantastic afternoon
We had a fantastic stay! This spot is steps from the San Marco square. We had a large 2 bed room and it was perfect for my daughter and I. I would stay again.
Laura was our guide. Her English was wonderful and she made a big effort to share her love of Verona with us, It made a big difference of what we saw and learned. This was THEE best tour we had in all of Italy.
Luisa is fantastic guide. She has lived in Verona most of her life. She knows the back ways to go to miss the crowd and knows her history and architecture. She had stories to tell and made our tour so interesting!
Was a great walk getting to know Veronas history, landmarks and culture. We learned and enjoyed the tour. It was a good experience to know that there is more to Verona than Juliet.
Great tour by Laura, she was able to explain why Verona was significant starting with the Romans to the 20th century and why all yhe landmarks played a significant role in Verona's history. Highly recommend, grazie Laura!
Laura was very knowledgeable about the area and was easy to listen to. She spoke at our level which was good. Beautiful area to look at.
We really enjoy the trip around Vero an our guide very professional and with loads of data to share with us! Great experience
Absolutely first class tour of Verona seeing the major sights but also the beautiful architecture our tour guide was passionate about sharing facts and curiosities about Verona. We were able to experience the history of life in Verona through the beautiful buildings and architecture. The guide was friendly and was easy to understand.
The tour was very slow. Laura did not talk when we were walking. I felt like we should have had more commentary. I always go on tours when visiting new places but this was the one time it did not go well. Laura was a nice person but she just did not like talking. It was very awkward when walking with nothing to say. I am hoping to do the tour again the next time we are in Verona but with a different guide.
It was lovely to see all the sites, and the history - there are SO many buildings with different historical times all mixed together - 12th century, next to 16th century, next to 14th century next to 20th century, all very close to a Roman arena and not far from a Roman amphitheatre. Also amazing for me was to hear that there was an element of truth in Shakespeare's play, even though he did not travel overseas ie there really were two families of Montague's and Della Capella, seeing the sign of the Cap, (denoting Della Capella household) at what is now known as Juliet's house, and hearing that a family Montague lived in what is now shown as Romeos house. It made Verona even more fascinating. The price was quite high for a walking tour.
Guide tour was excellent, sharing all facts and curiosities with love to Verona. We had great time and great dinner on base of recommendation.
Our tour was like a private tour with only 3 of us... which was great. It meant we could ask questions of our young guide as we went along and she had time to stop and tell us about the building/monument. Verona is a beautiful city and our guide showed us the best spots. We especially liked seeing the Adige river and hearing the history of the buildings on the opposite side of the river. I was surprised to hear the local delicacy is horse meat stew with Polenta! I would recommend this tour
Fun experience with an engaging guide. She took us all around and covered much ground. The only problem was that the tour did NOT include any access to any of the popular visiting sites that require admission. Could have saved my $ and just went on my own (as I eventually did)
The lot. Very thorough and informative tour. The guide was excellent. Attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant.
Laura was a great source of Verona information. She was very helpful in explaining the rich history of the city - far beyond the limited and imposed Shakespearean creation. Highly recommend.
We booked just a couple of days before. Laura was great. The small group truly was small, us and another couple (sometime "small groups" are a lot larger). As a result, we had a pretty tailored experience (e.g., we didn't want to oh and ah at "Juliette's house," so the stop was kept to a minimum). Piazza Bra can be crowded/overrun. We asked at our hotel where the Piazza Bra clock was which is the designated meeting place. (Locals know that it is a clock in an archway over one of the streets into the Piazza.) That could be better described on the booking. We did not book on this occasion on "Get Your Guide" but when we booked a different tour in a different city with that, its app had a useful feature telling one how far you are from the meeting place. The tour also might have mentioned the Porta Leoni, the other roman wall remnant that we stumbled onto in town.
Knowledgeable guide. Friendly and spoke very good English. Answered any questions we had . Great to hear about things from a local.
A small group tour is by far the best way to view the city. Our guide was on time, friendly, knowledgeable and spoke very good English.we were in a group of 6 which was very manageable and we could gather round the guide in the busy spots and hear her clearly. Verona is a beautiful, history laden city and this tour was a great way to see it - worth every penny !.
The trip was very informative and enjoyable. The guide Laura was friendly and took time to explain the history of the city and the points of interest
Great, informative guide. Able to not only give the basic information but able to answer many questions.
Great tour and the guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. I would recommend this tour to anyone who would like to get to know Verona better.
Luisa made for a great guide, well-prepared and accommodating my myriad questions about different epochs for the city of Verona. Very passionate guide, who is a city native, had interesting perspective on the city’s past and current tourism driven by the Romeo & Juliet saga (skip that part at all cause).
An amazing 2 hour tour of the best of Verona, so much history and culture to learn about. We would have missed so much if we had not taken the tour and not have felt like we really explored Verona. Laura, was very knowledgeable, professional and patient. She managed to keep our 16 & 14 years engaged and asking questions, we all really enjoyed it. We ere lucky that we ended up having the tour to ourselves. Thank you to Laura, we have great memories of our time in Verona.
There were quite a few long gaps of silence whilst we were walking. A few in between comments would have been welcome.
Our guide Laura was very knowledgeable and very interesting. my main reason for not awarding five stars is that the description of the meeting point did not match the dropped pin on the map by a distance of about 100m. the description "under the clock" was between two arches of a busy vehicle gate into and out of the Piazza Bra. my wife and I spent an hour the previous evening walking around the area of the pin looking for a non-existent clock.
Isabella is a first-rate tour guide. We enjoyed all 5 stops- the food, wine and ice cream all were wonderful.
Laura’s relaxed explanations and detail was all you would want from a tour ! I think the tour could be a little shorter.
Learning about the different architectural buildings, castles and the history of the city. Laura was informative, patient and just lovely!
Laura was awesome! Ended up being a private tour which was even better. Learned so much. So worth it
Luisa was exceptional! Informative, incredibly knowledgable, and happy to answer any and all questions. Even stopped at a few extra places due to questions as we walked. Highly recommend!
Laura was fantastic. So knowledgeable. Not a question was asked that she didn’t know. She also did a wonderful job discussing Romeo and Juliet as to give more history about Shakespeare and the stories possible tie to Verona.
Great tour. The city is small but full of great treasure to see. Had we not taken the tour we would have missed so much. Take the tour and don’t miss out
Book the tour! This was a fantastic tour to help contextualize the beautiful city. Our guide was deeply knowledgeable, patient, and open to giving recommendations and details off the tour as well. Verona is so beautiful, but having the knowledge provided in this tour makes the city even more impressive.
