Venice: The Hidden Canals On An Electric Boat

Well worth booking, a small group was perfect. The boat was smooth and peaceful, slowly meandering through little canals and then through the Grand Canal was special. We took the 4pm trip in October which meant we managed to get the sunset over St Mark's Square with beautiful photos. Felt very safe in the boat with an expert guide. Would definitely recommend.

Emiliano was a great guide, knowledgeable, witty and a great boat driver too. Th is tour provides a great overview of Venice and how it functions. We now feel like we know Venice. It may sound pricey but it’s money well spent.

Great 90 minutes cruising the canals with Emiliano who was instructive and entertaining and really made the trip. A great way to get a feel for Venice, its layout and how it works. Electric boat is ultra quiet so easy to hear the narrative. Not cheap but entirely worth it.

Great way to see so much of the city. Our guide was great, told us lots of interesting facts and had a great sense of humor.

This is an awesome way to see Venice … do a quick gondola tour to get it out of your system but then do this tour to truly appreciate Venice. Electric boat is perfect, very quiet. Our captain was also a big part of the pleasurable experience.. soft spoken, humble and knowledgeable…

This was a fantastic experience with a great local guide! Emiliano gave us the real experience and was a total gent. This was the best way to experience canals and going out on the open water of the lagoon at a reasonable price (for Venice lol). I’ve known from being here a week now that the big fancy diesel out gas rigs will cost an arm and a leg. The old school gondolas are a bit much for me traveling with my mom. This was perfect!

Great value boat trip. Covers part of the grand canal, back canals and both sides of the lagoon. Lovely young man tour guide who spoke excellent English and was very informative. Electric boat was so peaceful. Highly recommend. A great way to see Venice.

Sebastian our cruise host was sensational; the boat is electric and seats less than 10 so this is a quiet, peaceful and intimate exploration of the back canals of Venice - the overall experience was calm and gentle and a welcome contrast to the busyness of the main tourist areas. Definitely recommend highly.

Our guide was not great. He spoke little English, couldn’t understand the questions we were asking and gave very little context into what we were seeing. He pointed out random things with no details. For example, “Garden.” “Church.” In addition, he smoked several cigarettes during the tour. We also got pulled over by the water police and he got a ticket for being in one of the canals where they didn’t allow commercial vehicles. It was all rather comical. I would recommend this to her. If there was a guy that was English speaking like it was advertised, but we learned very little. However, the hidden canals were very interesting. It would just have been nice to have somebody who had historical knowledge and had passion for communicating information.

Covered a large area of Venice. Guide was very nice but very young, I wish he would of talked a little more and told us more about this beautiful city but overall, good.

What a cool experience, quietly boating through the smaller canals of Venice! And Donato, our charming guide, shared interesting insights and history through the entire tour. The pickup point was a seemingly random spot (no office/store front), but then we saw the boat dropping a group off. Taking the 6pm slot gave us an incredible sunset! Would HIGHLY recommend!

Taking a gondola ride is about 90 Euros for 30 minutes. This experience is close to that price, but you’ll go as a small group for 90 minutes. Forget the vaporetto, that’s for necessary journeys only and the view is terrible except for a lucky few by the windows. It could be better, though. Our guide was a bit grouchy since he hadn’t eaten since 9am for our 2pm tour, with several more tours to go. We offered to help with boat lines since we are both experienced sailors, but he was determined to hit the posts and walls on his own. He really doesn’t like women helping either. Highlights are limited to “This building is _______”, etc. It’s great as a scenic boat ride, but little else. I still think it was worth it, and you can read about Venice’s history on your own time. Bring a brim hat, parasol, or umbrella as there is no cover from the elements.

Bonato was very good - he pointed to a lot of interesting spots and drove the boat keeping our comfort in mind. The trip was awesome.

Fun, easy, relaxing- convenient way to see Venice. Expensive. Lasts 90 minutes. Takes you around narrow canals and out to open sea.

Very disappointed as the company knew they were expecting heavy rain, they even tried to get us to move the tour to a later time. But as we had a prior engagement we couldn’t make the later time, I suggested to them if they couldn’t make the 2:00pm time slot then maybe it should be cancelled. Well it went ahead for about 40 minutes and the downpour came. The captain parked us as quick as possible under a bridge and we sat there for nearly 25 minutes totally drenched. In the end we just said drop us off at the train station so we could get back to our hotel and warm up with a hot shower.

The only way to see Venice! We had such a great time and tour guide was fantastic, he even modified our tour since we were the only couple and dropped us off at our hotels private dock A must do, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wonderful tour of all the canals both major and some really quiet ones. The electric engine means the journey is lovely and quiet and no smell of oil!! Sebastian was our driver and guide and was brilliant. 5 stars given as it was such an enjoyable trip!! 😀

This was one of our favorite tours in Italy! It far exceeded our expectations and we truly felt like we saw so much of Venice from the water. For us, this was a much better experience than a gondola ride. The views are spectacular and there are numerous spots to take breathtaking photos. Highly recommend.

Our morning tour through the canals on a quiet electric boat was the perfect activity for a hot day! Our tour guide Donato was lovely and pointed out the sights and aspects of Venetian life that I imagine few tourists get to see! We saw much more of Venice in a relaxing way compared to the otherwise endless walking which is also fun but difficult on 30+C days. But not to worry you will probably have a bit of a walk to meet the boat!

We were in Venice for four days before we did this trip. This was the highlight of our week. Our guide was phenomenal! We did extensive waterways clear up into the northern area out to the sea and back and around 2 Saint Marks Square. The boat was very quiet and the guide was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend highly pursuing this tour.

Donnato the Captain was very friendly and took great care of us in the extreme heat! There is no shade on the boat however we were equipped with parasols so if it’s very hot keep that in mind. The route was fun and the Captain gave us a little running commentary.

Excellent experience during the heat of the summer, the way to see the local Venician neighborhoods, daily life, and iconic sites along the main canal. Venice without breaking a sweat during the heat wave. Prompt boat arrival to meeting point. Good size boat, small enough for smooth ride on side canals, large enough to handle wake in grand canal. Offered beverages throughout. Even took photos of our group and maneuvering boat for best view. Very safe, courteous, knowledgeable driver. We absolutely loved this trip! We even got a longer ride than planned, and they showed and explained all the best sights to us. We also really enjoyed the delicious snacks they treated us to. We came away with so many wonderful photos and unforgettable memories from this ride. Everything was simply gorgeous!

The tour was great and our guide was fantastic and we really enjoyed the 90 mins tour. We took some drinks onboard and it was lovely at 8pm. We followed Google maps to the meeting point and when we arrived wasn’t sure we were in the correct place as no one was waiting or even a sign. We did see someone eventually get in an electric boat and had to ask.

Great tour, but because they do not have a storefront your meet up point is a little obscure. Don’t be afraid to arrive five minutes early and have them roll up on time. Great tour and very knowledgeable.

Sebastiano was very knowledgeable but also very relaxed. We saw Venise better that way and electric is quiet yet efficient.

The prior reviews have some truth to them but some are overblown. You start the tour in a quiet canal and then spend about 5 or so minutes on the main waterway to get to the next small canal. I’d say the next 30-40 minutes you are touring all the neighborhoods on calm canals. The final 10-20 you are on the main waterway again. It was this part that was a little frustrating because my wife did get a little wet at the front of the boat. Enough to make it uncomfortable. Would have preferred they said sit father back. There were 7 guests as well since we combined with another family but there was room for all.

The size of the boat gives great comfort, whilst still giving access to the smallest canals & obviously very quiet as it is electric. The knowledge & experience of the guide ( Captain ) was superb & genuinely enthusiastic for his home of Venice, I feel the price was very good, especially compared to other boat trips.

Such a great way to see Venice! The length of the trip and the speed of the boat allowed us to travel to so many more places than a 30 minute gondola could. I left feeling very satisfied that we were able to see everything and felt more oriented while walking the streets after. The captain was incredibly kind and informative. He made it a very relaxing trip that we will never forget. His knowledge of Venice was very impressive.
