The house has cats. When asking for allergies and intolerances they are not asking for food related allergies, they are wanting a total list all allergies and concerns. Poorly run and disappointing

Horrible experience! We booked a cooking session in locorotondo but we had to arrive one hour earlier because the taxi dropped us early. The house was in the middle of nowhere so we had nowhere to wait but on their terrace. We didi nothing but sitting on the chairs and waiting for them to arrive respectfully and we sent them a picture that we were there and waiting for them. But when they arrived they were like monsters! They insulted us and fired us and refused to proceed with the cooking session because we were sitting on their pouch! Worst experience ever! Never had such an experience anywhere in the world! Terrible terrible terrible experience
Rosa was amazing! So welcoming and full of fun facts about the Italian culinary culture. She was patient and full of life. You can see and feel how much she loves cooking and teaching the love of pasta making. We had such an amazing time. One of our favorite experiences in Italy! Plus the food we made was absolutely delicious.
I booked this experience based on the positive reviews but unfortunately my experience was very different. The address was unclear, making the flat difficult to locate. I ended up asking people nearby if they knew where the cooking class was. I also messaged the host through multiple channels for assistance and received no response. When I later raised this, I was told she had to respond to someone else first. Regardless, it left me struggling to find the venue and created unnecessary stress before the class had even started. When I arrived, I asked if I could wash my hands before cooking and was met with a dismissive response: “Of course you will wash your hands before cooking.” Even if it was not intended negatively, it immediately affected the atmosphere. We made three types of cicchetti and one pasta dish. The cicchetti were surprisingly basic, consisting of very simple sandwiches and appetizers. I mentioned to my friend that some of them reminded me of tapas, and the host quickly told me not to call them tapas. I found this unnecessary, as I was simply making an observation about similar styles of food. The instructions were often unclear. For example, our sandwiches did not stay together because the technique for filling and pressing them was never properly explained. One of the fillings had already been prepared in advance, so we did not learn how to make it ourselves. I had to specifically ask for details about the recipe, which seemed contrary to the purpose of attending a cooking class. This was the first class where recipes were not shared after the class - never seen this before. Another disappointment was that we did not get to eat the cicchetti after making them. Instead, everything was served at the very end of the class, by which point we were quite hungry. The pasta was underwhelming. The sauce consisted of olive oil, tomatoes, garlic and herbs, and barely coated the pasta, therefore it lacked flavour which is not acceptable at a cooking class. For the price we paid, it felt extremely basic and disappointing. At the end, there was a significant amount of food left over. When we asked if we could take it with us, the host said she normally does not do it. This was surprising, as we had paid for the experience which obviously included then ingredients and we prepared the food ourselves which we simply couldn’t finish. Overall, I found the class overpriced, lacking in instruction, and disappointing in both atmosphere and value. I left feeling that the experience did not justify the cost and would not recommend it.
Nadine led us through an incredible cooking experience. From the moment she welcomed us into her home, it felt like an afternoon with family. Between the laughs, learning Italian cooking techniques, and then eating our delicious meal, it was an afternoon to remember.
My partner and I had the most incredible evening at this cooking class. From the moment we stepped into the chef’s home, we were made to feel completely welcome. It wasn’t just a lesson; it felt like a dinner party with a new friend. The experience was perfectly structured. We learned how to make two different types of pasta from scratch and a divine tiramisu. The chef was incredibly kind and patient, ensuring our techniques were just right while keeping the atmosphere light and fun. Their sense of humor made the time fly by, and the food we produced was honestly some of the best we’ve had in Italy. If you’re looking for an authentic, warm, and delicious experience in Venice, this is it. We couldn’t recommend it more!
Barbara was so friendly and personable. She welcomed us into her home, engaged us in the class and shared her passion for cooking that came from her childhood. We had a great afternoon and won’t forget this experience and her hospitality! Thank you, Barbara!!!!
My wife and I have attended other cooking classes abroad so we had high expectations. From the moment we walked in Giulia's home she warmly greeted us and and my wife and I instantly felt as if we were friends / family. The dishes we prepared are exactly what was advertised and we got to savor the fruits of our labor at the end which tasted so very delicious!!! Guilia was caring, patient, informative, and she made us laugh. Her home was cozy and clean (for those that are worried about that sort of thing). I highly recommend anyone who is contemplating a cooking class in Venice to definitely try Guilia's. You will not be disappointed.
Our experience with our chef was fantastic. She was very friendly and helpful. The pasta and we’re over the top. Definitely would recommend this experience for anybody that loves food.
We could not have enjoyed our experience more - Tessa was wonderful and made it so much fun. It was fantastic and interesting to meet locals, hear their stories, see where they live and make delicious food.
We had a bit of a hiccup finding her apartment as there were no real street signs and it was pouring rain but she waited for us by the door and once we found it it was a perfect evening. She educated us on making pasta and ravioli and dinner turned out delicious. We had some wine and tiramisu desert that we also prepared with her help. I’m still waiting for her to send us the recipe’s as I want to use what I learned and make it at home now that we are finally back. It was truly the best experience for me and my son to do together. Our love for food and cooking was brought together.
My husband and I really wanted to enjoy this pasta making class…..until they could not find our reservation and gave us two options….pay cash or leave the property. We chose to leave since we had already paid through Viator 6 months prior. We did share our confirmation and booking information with the host. Twenty minutes are leaving, we received a phone call stating they had found the reservation and to come back. At this time, we had already sat down for dinner and declined the offer. We did receive a refund, however, I felt the situation could have been handled with more warmth and class.
Underwhelming. I paid $845 for a family of four and for that much money you would expect a top of the line experience. The class description mentions appetizers and drinks/wine. The appetizers were a very small bowl of olives and sun dried tomatoes for 12 of us. The owner brought out two bottles of very cheap Prosecco again for 12 of us to share. He seemed overwhelmed by managing 12 of us and could have used a helper. For what this cost, it seemed very cheap and underwhelming. All 12 of us in the class were fairly disappointed given the cost and were all fairly surprised given the good reviews. Note the viator site is a central place to book for various operators so just beware that experiences can probably differ wildly.
Relaxing afternoon talking with our gracious hosts at their home and outside in their lovely courtyard while we learned to make pasta and tiramisu. And then we got to enjoy eating it!
This was our favorite activity during our 2 week trip in Italy! We had a private cooking class with two of the nicest hosts. It was truly a unique and amazing experience during our time in Venice. We are excited to try out making pasta and tiramisu when we return home this week. Thank you all so much for a once in a life time experience!
Nadine made our time together Fun, interactive and together we made good food to enjoy as a small group!
In-home experience, like cooking with your Nonna. Highly recommend. Food was delicious. Ambiance was beautiful.
This cooking idea was great! I traveled with my wife, her mom and my mom, and it was a great activity for them. It was great to take a break from the beating sun and enjoy some authentic Italian food! Highly recommend it to everyone who is seeking to do something different!
It was a wonderful experience! Nadine was so inviting, helped us prepare a wonderful meal, and gave us great conversation. I would recommend this to anyone, worth every dollar without question!
This cooking class was amazing! Patrizia welcomed us into her home, which was beautiful. She was as accommodating as she could be with our daughter having celiac. The tour company did not tell her until the last minute which was through no fault of her own. Everything was awesome. She had wine for us, appetizers. I think the tiramisu was my favorite. It was private, just the four of us and I think that made it even more special. Thank you again! :)
I had the best time making pasta with Tessa and her mom. The experience was authentic. I felt so welcomed by Tessa’s hospitality and warmth. My friend and I learned how to make pasta without the pretentiousness, in a way that we would remember and recreate it in the future. The Tiramisu was amazing as well. I’ve made it in the states but this recipe tasted like the ones you eat from Italian restaurants. Thank you Tessa and mom! I would highly recommend to anyone for their Venezia travels!
Highly, highly recommend! Our host was excellent and engaging. Their home was lovely and easy to find. My husband and I traveled with our 2 teenage girls and we all agreed this was one of the highlights of our trip.
Mama Mia, we still talk about this wonderful experience while we make homemade pasta at home. Definitely one of the highlights of our honeymoon.
This class was so much fun. Our instructor made us feel like family, we met new friends, and the meal we cooked was delicious!!! Thank you!!
I can’t recommend this pasta and tiramisu cooking class in Venice enough! As someone who loves Italian food but had never tried making it myself, this was the perfect experience. The small group size made it feel intimate and special, and we really got to bond with the other participants and our wonderful instructor.
Mauro was an excellent teacher, made us feel so welcome and gave us an amazing experience making fresh pasta and tirimisu for the first time! Thank you very much
We had the most amazing experience with Matilde in Venezia! For our cooking course, Matilde selected a wonderful menu with both seafood and meat flavors. We started with learning about Italian food and culture, then moved onto cooking techniques, which we practiced with making tiramisu from scratch. My kids loved the hands on experience and Matilde was so patient with them. (And funny too!) She’s accomplished at tiramisu and it shows. We got to lick the mixing bowl clean and the fabulously smooth and delicateness of the creme made us exited for more! The pasta-making was absolutely fun for us as we got to make a multitude of shapes and sizes, including using real Italian tools from her nonna. To our surprise she had wine and appetizers for us ready to go. She shared her favorites and funnest music too. In the end we enjoyed the delicious tiramisu we made together. We loved it all! Matilde was a superb host, super friendly lady, fantastic teacher, and new family friend.
So much fun! My husband and I were so impressed by the hospitality, instruction & pasta! Highly recommend.
We had a lovely time. Chef was well prepared and has a love for cooking. We made ravioli and parpadelle, and tiramisu. Then have a delicious lunch with some prosecco.
We had a delightful time during our pasta-making class in Italy. Spending four relaxing hours cooking and eating together was one of the highlights of our trip. The class itself was exceptional, held in a charming home overlooking a canal. We learned to make two different types of pasta and the delicious dessert, tiramisu. It was a joy to meet and interact with the other couple in our group. We shared laughs, sipped prosecco, and had a wonderful time chatting throughout the experience. We were so impressed that we've already ordered a pasta maker to try our hand at making pasta at home using the recipe Nico provided. Our only problem was with the information on where to meet from Viator. The app listed the wrong location. Once we clicked on the contact host link, the correct address was provided. We were a little late, but still had a great time.
Amazing experience 10/10 She shared her culture, home, and love of cooking with me and my husband. It was the perfect afternoon in Venice!
Do not sign up for the pasta making class. The tour operator sent me a message at 9:00am that the 11:00am class was cancelled due to the host having other commitments. They offered the 6:00pm time slot. I replied I needed the details of that class. The class is held at someone’s home. Wondering how sanitary that is? The tour operator then sent a message that the time had changed to 5:00pm. I replied that didn’t work for us as we had other planned event at that time. I have not been given a refund as they are saying I cancelled last minute. So many things are wrong with this tour and Viator. Try another operation.
Loved this experience; the location was perfect, a short boat ride from St Mark’s, a wander through a local neighbourhood and into the delightful home of Rosa. There were welcome drinks on arrival which gave all of us a chance to meet before starting on our pasta making. The course itself was meticulously planned so that everything we made from “Rosa’s Rainbow” to fresh ravioli, fettuccine and tomato sauce and finally tiramisu, were all ready together. Rosa and her daughter, Angela also gave us great cooking tips as well as a delightful food history facts along the way too which made the course even more enjoyable especially for our children. Then we all got to sit down and enjoy the meal together - what a feast! Honestly better than any restaurant meal in Venice, a superb spread and completely worth the time and the money. An absolute must-do experience!
This cooking class is worth its value. Giulia was amazing. Our small family group had a very welcoming, cosy and homely experience cooking inside her home. We learnt all about how to make authentic Italian pasta and tiramisu. FYI: if you’d like to tailor your experience (i.e.learn how to make a tomato sauce or carbonara, make sure you ask in advance).
This has been our most memorable experience since being in Italy 🇮🇹 our hosts Rosa & Angela were so lovely and welcoming with funny stories whilst showing us our to make pasta from scratch my daughter and I loved it!! Highly recommend to everyone to do this 😊
Giulia was so patient and a joy to learn from. My girlfriends and I had an unforgettable experience that is definitely at the top of the list of our Italy Girl’s Trip. The food and wine was delicious and we are excited to make handmade pasta back at home. We hope to visit Giulia again soon!! Aloha:)
The experience of making fresh pasta and one of my favorite desserts in such a historic city was absolutely amazing. Our instructor was super personable and attentive. The small group of people created a great environment to meet new people while enjoying the art of pasta making. Whether it's your first time cooking or you've been doing it for years I highly recommend trying it out. The best part is if you truly enjoyed the class it's something you can take home with you and use what you learned as a new life skill.
Amazing experience! Home chef ( caeserine) was amazing. We made two types of pasta and dessert. She was very prepared for us, taught the techniques and then we made each one. The dinner with our food was delightful. The chef made the whole experience wonderful
Like others who have left a review like mine, I was bitterly disappointed. Made the reservation online and mistakenly set the date for the wrong month. Within minutes I messaged and advised my error in the date and simply asked for a date a month later. They refused. Said they could not give me a refund. It was almost an automated reply because at no stage did I ask for a refund. All I wanted was a change of date! Wish I had read the reviews first. No room for error with these guys.
My tour guide never showed and the phone number they have for this event is out of service. Viator will not give me a refund even though they said they would.
We did a private pasta class, my husband is the cook and absolutely loved it. Our instructor was amazing. And the food was great! Highly recommend.
Jenna was amazing. We had an amazing experience and the food was delicious she was also very knowledgeable about Venice and the Venetian culture. Thank you Jenna.
Such a great experience with our group and host. The host was so welcoming into her home. She was so knowledgeable, funny and helpful about what we were doing.
Giacomo was fantastic! He was so helpful teaching us how to cook our two types of pasta and Tiramisu. The storytelling, the service, and of course the food was all a wonderful experience. Would HIGHLY recommend to friends and family!
Rosa was incredible! The whole evening was fantastic and such a special experience! It felt so authentic to be in her home and make pasta and tiramisu!!! She was so lively and fun and the food was delicious!!!! She provides a PDF with all the recipes as well!! Such a special memory that we will cherish forever!! Highly recommend!!!!
It was really cool to feel like we were getting an authentic Italian pasta making experience. Rosa welcomed us into her home and the pasta was amazing.
Nadine was excellent. She provided an authentic experience, where we not only learned, but felt part of the Venetian culture.
Rosà is wonderful! Along with her assistant Già! We loved the class. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting an authentic experience. The entire meal, from start to finish, simply delicious!! Don't miss this one!
Barbara was amazing! She took us into her authentic Venetian home and taught us how to make past and tiramisu. The entire experience was great. Different family members took turns doing the work to make the pasta and tiramisu and then when we were almost done, Barbara did the finishing work. She made this amazing appetizer of Burrata, artichokes, arugula and tomatoes to start with Prosecco and while we ate that, she transformed our pasta into 3 different dishes. First with a bolonese sauce that took her 5 hours to make the day before, the second was with shrimp and Aribiatta and last one was for the vegetarian in the group, a tomato basil. The tiramisu is the best we have every had. We will attempt to recreate this meal for sure!
We had a great time learning from Barbara and experiencing Venetian culture and food. Would highly recommend.
