Itinerary
We will have a fancy stroll in Mazzorbo, one of the quietest and idyllic islands in the lagoon where less than 300 people live. We will wander around in its lush gardens, stunning vineyards and a beautiful monastery.
We will walk and relax n the magical atmosphere of this walled vineyard, which hosts a native Venetian grape, the Dorona.
We will stroll alongside the lagoon with one of the most amazing views until we reach the long bridge that connects Mazzorbo to Burano. Famous for its brightly colored houses, its fine lace production and the freshest seafood, Burano is ‘bellisimo’
We will cross this bridge with a stunnig view among the cutest boats at the dock and fisherman houses.
We will wander down secret alleys until we reach the bridge of Terranova from where we can enjoy the most breathtaking view of the leaning bell tower of the church and from where you can really see how sharp its slope is.
We will stroll through the only square in the island where lace makers are at work at a traditional lace atelier. We will also check out the Love Viewing Bridge that connects three canals and three of the most colorful streets of Burano, before hopping on the water bus to Murano.
The glass-making island of Murano is the perfect island to top off your half a day trip and go off the beaten track, to places no tourists ever come
We will make our way to a unique artisan workshop where you can admire the fantastic skills of a lampwork artist who make impressive works of glass.
We will see together how glass artisans and factories are bringing forward the glassblowing tradition strolling along the Rio dei Vetrai ("canal of the glassmakers").
We will step in the the oldest glass factory in the world, admiring together how tradition, design and fashion can be combined together.
We will then discover some hidden gems of Murano as this church, hiding masterpieces from the Renaissance and stunning glass chandeliers.
We will wander around more hidden gems like an impressive industrial complex where they used to make beads

I was hoping for a little more from this activity. The first island felt like an afterthought and I wish there was a little more discussion about it or a stop by a local business. Burano was beautiful, but there wasn’t anytime allocated for stopping by local businesses. Murano also felt rush since our group had to split in two to see each business. On thing that made the tour difficult was the guide bringing up his political views several times, which really brought the mood down. For the price I thought there was going to be a little more history or demonstration given. The guide did help with a couple suggestions for after the tour with food and a shop.
I loved all 3 islands that we visited. Vallerio was an excellent host and guide providing lots of interesting information about each. The quietness of the garden, the colors of Burano and the Murano glass were all beautiful in different ways. What a great combination tour. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Valerio provided the most unique prospective to this tour, we saw tourist attractions but also gave a window into daily life on the islands. The stops we went to were full of joyful people and Valerio’s love for the islands made the tour special.
Excellent tour exploring 3 islands! Our guide was a resident of Murano and had a lot of connections on the island that really made the experience unique and fun. We loved it and would recommend!
Valerio is a wonderful guide - a balance of informative, easy to be around, and kind. We saw and learned so much on our island hopping tour, where his special connections offered us unique opportunities. The tour was fantastic! Highly recommend!
Our tour of Mazzorbo, Burano, and Murano with Valario was a hightlight of our trip. We got such a great mix of the history of these beautiful islands as well as a glimpse into modern life there today. It was so interesting to see how the traditional arts of lace making and glass blowing are kept alive today and get to see the artists at work. Valario was a great guide and was able to answer our wide range of questions, help us navigate the water taxis, and provided us with some additional tips and tricks for the rest of our visit (yeah for the beach on Lido!). Our group all gives him the highest recommendation after touring with him.
Valerio is really knowledgable, funny and makes the tours so enjoyable, we went on two tours Burano And Murano, they were both great.
Valerio was amazing! He was friendly and very knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed our day tour with him learning about these wonderful islands. We also met some of the locals who were very friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend this tour to other friends and family. Thank you again Valerio!
The trip was well planned and informative. Our guide was knowledgeable and was interested in those in the group. Great tour.
Valerio is an amazing guide. He very thoughtfully put together a tour that showed us the highlights of Murano & Burano. He found special places to give us a full picture of the region. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him and highly recommend you book with him.
Valerio was fantastic. Knowledgeable with great presentation. Also helped us obtain last minute tickets to St. Marks Basilica.
We had so much fun on this tour. Valerio took us to some great spots off the beaten path in each of the three islands. We got to have Burano pretty much all to ourselves which is unheard of. The glass making demonstration in Murano was also really interesting. From the very beginning, he had excellent communication and was very personable. He mentioned he prefers to work with small group sizes so it truly felt like a private tour, which we didn’t get from any of our other guides. He went out of his way to make our time feel memorable and special. He even went above and beyond and arranged for us to have a drink and small bites in Burano and dinner at a nice restaurant on our way back in Murano. I’ll definitely be recommending him to anyone I know going to Venice! The only thing I would say is it lasted more like 6 hours instead of 5 (the ferry on the way back takes quite a bit of time). Not that that bothered us, but some people might be on more of a time crunch and need to know. Be prepared for lots of waking (by no means am I complaining, it didn’t bother us one bit) and a fun filled day exploring the islands of Venice!
Very well organised and interesting tour. Travelling around the less tourist parts of the islands. Excellent guide, very friendly
Our family of four enjoyed our day with Velariilo visiting Mazzorbo, Burano and Murano. Mazzorbo was very quaint and very much off the beaten path. There wasn't much to see there except for a church and a vineyard tho and it was a lot of walking!! We absolutely fell in love with Burano (our favorite of the three islands). Valerio took great care to keep us away from the crowded tourist areas while still allowing us to experience the beauty of Burano. The colorful houses are very much worth seeing! We also visited an original Italian lace store and were able to witness lace making in progress. It was fascinating. We spent the least amount of time in Murano. It was lovely but we were exhausted by the time we got there. We went to a blown glass showroom where Valerio once worked and saw some amazing pieces. We also went to a small shop where a friend of Valerio's, Monica, works on blowing beads for jewelry and other glass works. It was fun to see her blow a bead for us but I must admit, we were really looking forward seeing a full glass blowing demonstration. After the tour, Valerio arranged for lunch at 9ne of his favorite restaurants on the island and it was superb. It was a very long day, we got back to Venice at 3:30 and logged almost 12,000 steps, but very much worth the experience of seeing new places.
Valerio was the BEST tour guide on our north Italy trip! So very personable, and communicated with us DIRECTLY which was amazing, and better than any other excursion! Was very neat to see the "islands" AND the "mainland"....You really don't realize how BIG Venice is....its truly a city on water! Water taxi all day for $25 bucks, WOOT! SO.MANY.ISLANDS....a must do tour in a must do city! This place was simply amazing and beautiful. We miss you already Valerio, HUGS!
Our family (with three teenage boys) had a great time with Valerio touring the Jewish quarter and Canareggio, Murano, Burano and Mazzorbo. In addition to the traditional tourist attractions he showed us an amazing, world class glass exhibition, secret gardens, other hidden gems and local restaurants. He went out of his way to make sure we all had a great experience and really managed to exceed the expectations of our youngest (a history buff) as well. We learned so much about Venice and the surrounding areas. He gave us many suggestions/ recommendations for our remaining days. He also came and had a drink with us, really nice to hang out with a local. We would recommend going on one of his tours, either tailored to your needs or simply select one of the "standard" tours on your first day in Venice so that you better understand the ins and outs of the city.
Valerio was simply amazing. Local guide with so much knowledge. Showed us all the non-tourist areas. Really loved it, highly recommend!
Valerio showed us all the insider tips for a fun non-touristy Venice visit. He was great with our kids and did a great job orienting us to the city. We loved our 3 island tour! We loved the personal touches and the visit to Murano was exceptional!
The tour was very informative and enjoyable. Valerio was a great host. He was friendly, spoke excellent English, very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and made the tour special. His tour was tailored to suit our needs and he had personal and private access to sites. We had a great time. I would highly recommend the tour and Valerio.
Wonderful tour with Valerio, who told us many interesting facts on Venice and the lagoon while visiting the three major islands. We were able to see the real Venetian life and many hidden spots unusual for tourists.
Love all three islands they each offered a unique experience. If I had to pick one it will be Murano. Our tour guide Genny offered us the chance to experience a glass jewelry maker making glass beads using the chevron technique. Then she took us to see another glass maker who used a different technique using the glass to create cartoon characters. I ask him to create a pig which he did in front of us. I ended up buying the pig. Our tour guide Genny picked it up and delivered it the next day for us at our hotel she also took us to the glass Museum. Had the most beautiful chandeliers I have ever seen.
We really enjoyed this tour. Valerio is a great host and I very much appreciated that he took us to places that gave us a feel for how people actually live on the islands. Seeing the garden in Mazzorbo was truly a breath of fresh air. It was also interesting to get the perspective of someone who actually lives on one of the islands.
It was absolutely amazing getting to hop the islands with Valerio. He told many interesting facts and knows how to avoid the crowds and cliches. We saw some real hidden spots too beautiful to describe, I cannot reccomend this tour highly enough. It was a blast and will be back in the future for more tours! Thanks for everything Valerio, you were the highlight of my week long holiday in Venice!
It was an awesome tour! Fun and so interesting! We discovered new things, we saw things just a local would know and Valerio was an excellent guide. Really loved it! The kids loved to see the Glass factory! Definetely something to do when visiting Venice!
Valerio did a wonderful tour with us. He managed to take our large group of friends to places that were previously less well-known and less crowded, so that we could experience the charm of the islands and their beauty. Thank you Valerio!
With our guide, this tour was a very special experience for the whole family. Valerio organized a perfect tour and showed us wonderful hidden corners off the tourist trails on the three islands. Absolutely professional, personable, structured, empathetic, personal and individual ... an unforgettable experience with many insider tips.
My boyfriend and I went around the islands with Valerio. The tour was really nice, Valerio showed us the most characteristic side of Venetian life, told us about the origins and history of the lagoon showing us how people lived once and how they live today on the islands of Murano and Burano. In addition, the choice to go around with a few people adds the plus of having a 1:1 relationship with Valerio who will be happy to answer any questions and curiosities. We highly recommend this experience.
The perfect organization made a lot of time. The tour was relaxed, everything very well explained and great cordiality
A day with Valerio: We already explored Venice on our own for 2 days, but the trip with Valerio to Murano and Burano topped everything. He showed us Venice, or the surrounding area without crowds. We have collected unforgettable impressions. If Venice, it's with Valerio. Very happy again!!!
Our visit to the islands of Mazzorbo, Burano and Murano was a great experience. Valerio makes this trip a special event. Opposite the traditional tourist flows, we visited the three islands. In peace, sometimes all alone, we got insight into the world of the islanders. A great tour, thank you, Valerio!
Everything so.g. went, would book again with Valerio!Since we are 4 adults ,was no problem for our GUID, on the contrary took into consideration the slowest!
Valerio guided us punctually and reliably , flexibly and in impeccable German through the summer hot city, and the islands around Venice - he always knew where to find a shady place, empty alleys nab from the tourist streams and where to taste the best spritz, the tastiest salami and ham. We really enjoyed the time together on foot, in the water taxi or in the gondola and are full of new impressions returned home. We will certainly return to the lagoon town, and hope that Valerio will have time for us again. Grazie mille per il tempo meravigliosa !
With Mazzorbo, a still original part of the island world awaited us in the lagoon. With a lot of knowledge and no hassle we were led to Burano by a local guide, with excellent German. There, hidden corners awaited us, off the usual tourist trails. We were particularly surprised by Murano, as we were not dragged into a tourist glass munufactory, but visited a sales exhibition of an old and traditional glass factory with unique objects. Grazie Valerio, for the nice time with you and the many tips
The tour was very informative and very entertaining. We learned a lot about the islands. From history as well as from current life. Valerio showed us some really wonderful stops we would never have seen before. Always happy to tour with Valerio.
Our tour with Valerio, who lives in Murano and is super friendly, took us first over the island of Murano, where we were allowed to visit the impressive showroom of a glass factory (thanks to good contacts of our guide) that we could probably never have seen as a normal tourist. We were also able to explore the island of Burano with its beautiful colorful houses off the beaten track and learned a lot about the history of the islands and life there from Valerio. You rarely read that in the usual guidebooks. Unfortunately, the hours passed far too quickly, but thanks to Valerio we will always remember this nice and informative trip with a smile. 🙂 Thank you Valerio! 👍We would love to come back... 🤗
