Vanessa was friendly, knowledgeable, and wonderful! We went to locations that we would not have found on our own. We enjoyed learning about the Jewish history of Venice. She is truly a treasure!

The food was good. The guide was better. His knowledge of history brought the entire area and experience to life. It was a most enjoyable evening.

The food was excellent and the history was extremely informative. And Vanessa our guide was the superb.

Take this tour if you want to spend (4) hours learning about the Jewish community in Venice. Don’t take it if you’re looking forward to a variety of tasty treats. Quite frankly, most of it was not edible!

We absolutely loved our tour of the Jewish Ghetto with Vanessa. She was an incredible guide, so knowledgeable, enthusiastic, warm, and genuinely passionate about Jewish history, especially the history of the Jewish community in Venice and Italy. She made the whole experience feel personal and authentic. She took us to delicious local restaurants and brought us to a Jewish art gallery where we ended up buying a piece of art to bring home. It’s something we’ll always have to remind us of this special experience in Venice. We learned so much, but it never felt like a history lesson!

Canceled on us last minute leaving us with no options to tour the ghetto.

My wife gave me this tour as a birthday present, and it couldn’t have been better. Our tour guide Vanessa was fantastic. After just a couple of sentences, we were completely hooked by her knowledge and the fascinating stories she shared about Cannaregio and Venice. The first dishes we tasted felt like heaven. We would join a tour with Vanessa again anytime.

Vanessa would get 10 stars if that was an option. She took my 83 year old sister and me on a guided tour of the Jewish ghetto and more. She tailored the tour because my sister walks with a cane. She is very knowledgeable about the Jewish ghetto and much, much more. The food was great and we couldn’t finish it all! I highly recommend Vanessa’s tour.

Food was excellent. It was great to see a different neighborhood other than the main district. History of Venice and neighborhood was great. Vanessa was excellent and enjoyable company. Given that it was just our family she adapted our interests and food tastes along the way.

Terrible. We were supposed to go to a synagogue but it was closed to visitors that day because of the Jewish holiday. There was no one to meet is at the meeting place, so there was nothing to do, I tried to contact them, but it was not possible to get a reply. After decades of tours, this was a rip off

Our guide was so accommodating our train was delayed 2 times having us arrive late she waited and took us to the most amazing eateries and took time to explain where we were and the history. I definatly recommend

From the the second we met Vanessa she was very engaging. Her knowledge of the area and her love of the culture came through throughout the tour. We started with a fantastic first round of food at Gam Gam and moved on to a nearby bakery. Then a little coffee, followed by ciccheti and an aperitivo. Next came pasta followed by gelato. Everything was delicious. All through out the tour Vanessa shared interesting information about the ghetto. Highly recommend this tour! Loved it!

This was an excellent presentation of the history of the Jewish Ghetto Quarter. It was also a food tour and the food was quite good and a lot. We did 5 food stops. I was the only client and got excellent one on one about the history and Jewish culture.

Vanessa’s warmth and knowledge made the evening seamless, even when we nearly missed the start. A perfect 5-star experience that you will not walk away from hungry!

There is more food involved and it is truly amazing! There was much more to learn than expected and it is fantastic rich history. Lots of fun and lots of information.

Really great tour with Vanessa for the history, the many stories, delicious food and drinks, and overall experience of being in the Jewish community neighborhoods in Venice. So much to learn. The food stops were excellent; the food and drinks were most generously served, tasty, and very high quality. We appreciated being introduced to authentic restaurants, bakeries and historical places that we would have most likely missed on our own. Vanessa was so outgoing, friendly and open to conversations, questions, and really insightful discussions on whole range of Venetian culture. The pacing is very comfortable, never felt rushed. We felt this tour exceeded our expectations due to Vanessa’s professionalism and her friendly way of engaging us as both new and repeat visitors to Venice.

Seeing the ghetto was truly an experience worth repeating. The history and the food were spectacular, but what really made it, was our guide, Vanessa. She was fun, knowledgeable and a great ambassador to Venice. We felt so lucky to have gotten her as our guide.

This was a true highlight of our trip to Italy. Our guide was amazing! She took the time to answer questions and gave us the best tips for the remainder of our stay in Venice. The history of Venice, specifically the Jewish Ghetto, is so unique and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone planning to visit.

Excellent opportunity to go beyond visiting San Marco area to see, experience and get interesting and dynamic info about the Jewish Ghetto and Cannaregio areas. Throw in amazing food and drinks and this tour is a definite must!! Our tour guide Vanessa was the best, moving us along at a great pace and providing great information in an engaging manner. Thoroughly recommend every visitor to Venice add this to their list of Basilica San Marco, Murano, Burano visits.

Lots of food to try! A good amount of history around the Jewish ghetto area although not an abundance.

Wonderful food tour with Denys! We had a lovely afternoon and evening stroll while sipping wines and aperitifs and eating delicious Venetian specialty foods. Learned a lot about the culture of Venice and the Canneregio district. Met nice people on the tour too. Highly recommend!

Dennis was very informative, gracious to the group, and kind to all. My husband doesn’t drink alcohol and Dennis made sure he had a NA drink at all stops. So much food, so many stops, it was over the top delicious and a wonderful way to learn about Venice.

Our trip was cancelled because the guide was not feeling good. There was no other guide to take us. Very disappointed as this is the second time.

Vanessa was fantastic we were late coming in she was more than accommodating I can not tell you how much we all enjoyed the backstory and the food was amazing. I would recommend this tour and if you get Vanessa as a guide its an added bonus.

Vanessa was our guide through a very immersive and historical tour of the Jewish Ghetto. We were introduced to the food and spirits culture of the area and our knowledge of the Jewish culture and legacy in Venice was greatly expanded. Four hours flew by and we could have walked, talked, listened and sat for countless more hours listening to Vanessa’s historical accounts and knowledge of the district. My words cannot convey how appreciative and thankful of the experience we were afforded and the company of guests we shared the evening with.

Vanessa was spectacular! She had so much knowledge and information to share, and she shared it all with a smile. And of course, all the food was delicious.

Me and my wife LOVED the entire tour. We were unsure if it was something we would like because we wanted a historical tour, not a food tour. But it was filled with history, we covered the entire Jewish Ghetto and our tour guide Vanessa was super passionate and knowledgeable. It was so refreshing to see Venice through her perspective. Vanessa was knowledgeable and personable. She had a wealth of knowledge and quickly learned our names and backgrounds and tailored the tour to the individuals. Vanessa was also careful to present the sad parts of the historic ghetto in a respectful way that was solemn but not depressing. She was the best tour guide we have had on any Viator tours. There was so much food and drink!!! Wonderful experience and worth every penny!

Don’t miss this tour! Vanessa was absolutely amazing! We loved that right away she was able to determine everyone in our groups food choices . The tour was so interesting and each stop was unique and quite informative. Vanessa’s passion to share her knowledge was a bonus. We had the opportunity to try such an array of food in each stop!

We really enjoyed this your. Being Jewish I was curious about the Jewish life and culture here. It was surprising to learn that while it exists it’s very small. Now only two synagogues, out of five, are still in use as a synagogue. While this food tour has five stops, only two of them were Kosher foods: Gam Gam a restaurant and a bakery. I really enjoyed Gam Gam and would have loved to stay and eat more. Our next kosher stop was a bakery. Fabulous baked products. We then moved through the rest of the Jewish ghetto, actually learned about the word ghetto, and a history of Jewish life in Venice. As we left the ghetto we ate more food which of course was not kosher. Venessa did have vegetarian options picked for those who were vegetarian. Like the previous food your our guide had preselected our foods and drinks. She did an amazing job. The only negative was there was not more of a break between food stops and time at the restaurants felt rushed. I would have preferred a little slower pace. Overall, check it out, especially if you’re Jewish and love our history.

Danis was very informative, energetic, and enthusiastic with his knowledge of Venice, and the history of the Jewish Ghetto. He actually lives on the Venetian island, so his information is always up to date. We visited 5 different locations. The food, wine and local Spritzes, that we sampled were quite unique in flavor. The portions were larger than expected, and often times, we were given extra samples. One location served us a full sized meal. We had the distinction of having Danis as our guide again for the Rialto Market tour. Again same great insight and attention to detail with his informative interactions. Next time we visit Venice, we will be hopeful in having Danis again.

My husband and I had Vanessa Busca as our tour guide and she was excellent! She knew many interesting facts about the Jewish Ghetto that we visited and took us to wonderful local spots to try a variety of drinks, appetizers, and pasta for dinner as well as amazing gelato for dessert! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience something a little different than the regular tourist attractions of Venice. Plus the quality of the food was great and Vanessa our tour guide made the tour so much fun!

We had a wonderful time on this tour and left with very full stomachs! The kosher jewish bakery goods were amazing and every other kind of food and wine you hope to have when you’re in Italy are just about covered in this tour! I loved that the food and wine stops were a little off the beaten path, we truly felt like one of the locals! And everything we tried was incredible! Denys was an extremely friendly and knowledgeable guide!

If I could give 10 stars I would. Vanessa may have been the best guide we have ever had! She was enthusiastic , entertaining , knowledgeable and so caring, not to mention fun! She took us to a very wide variety of places for food so make sure you go hungry!

The tour and 0laces visited were great, but the real prize of this tour was our guide, Vanessa. You MUST request her as your guide if you take this tour. Her knowledge is endless and easy to listen to. She is soooo pleasant and fun to be with. We made a friend!

We did a total of seven tours over two weeks in Venice, Salzburg and Munich and this was our favorite one. We would recommend this tour even for families with kids who aren’t of drinking age; there is plenty of food and our 14 year-old son was always offered a nonalcoholic drink instead of wine. All the food places were off the beaten path so it was a truly locals experience. Thanks for a fun and enjoyable experience.
