Itinerary
Venice, Italy's Grand Canal serves as the city's main waterway, winding for approximately 3.8 km. This majestic canal, forming an inverted S shape, is bordered by more than 170 historic buildings, many of which date from the 13th to 18th centuries. The palaces and churches lining the Grand Canal display a mix of Byzantine, Gothic, and Renaissance architecture, showcasing Venice's wealth and its history as a cultural and commercial center. The Grand Canal is crossed by four significant bridges: the Rialto Bridge, the Academy Bridge, the Scalzi Bridge, and the modern Constitution Bridge. These bridges offer stunning views and are perfect vantage points for observing the bustling traffic of gondolas, vaporettos (Venice's water buses), and other boats that navigate the canal every day.
