Venice For Pleasure: Water Taxi & Hidden Venice

Our Venice exploration was a most enjoyable experience. Nadia Danesin met us as a friend and left as an even better friend! We were led through the side streets, alleyways, and canals of Venice that most tourists don't see. We saw what locals see, had a mid morning pick-me-up where locals do, and after a private water taxi ride around the Grand Canal, we finished with a lunch of true Italian delights. We would highly recommend Nadia in a heartbeat!

Wonderful walking/water tour. Our guide Nadia has such great heart and wanted us to understand not only the history but what it means to be Venetian.

We had a wonderful time learning about the hidden Venice with Nadia. We booked the tour last minute and Nadia was extremely accommodating. She showed us to many point you would not normally see by hitting the main tourist spots. Nadia gave us an insightful lesson on the history of Venice shared orally and through the tour. She was warm, funny and generous. The tour was capped with a beautiful private water taxi ride for 60 minutes where we experienced Venice from the water hitting several spots tourist never got. Later in the day as we walked the alleys of Venice our college-aged kids were recalling what they learned from Nadia and pointing things out along our walk. She recommended a fantastic restaurant and made reservations for us during the tour and dropped us off at the restaurant right on the water to end the tour. We can’t say enough about Nadia and this tour.

She illuminated each & every one with a passion and in such depth that she made each place come to life for us…The Signora who makes the Tiramisu & Biscotti… The “fry bread/mozzarella/ham” Cicchetti! It is available for you and me to experience. She’ll take to to “the ONLY place in Venice where you can see St. Marks bell tower.. from a bridge. This isn’t about relics. This is about creation, sustenance, regeneration. It’s about Pride in your home, heritage and your people’s history and achievements. It’s the quiet places where there was no one but the birds. The greenery. hidden courtyards and private homes of the once wealthy merchants.. A very in-depth walk and boat ride around Venice from a local who really loves her city. Nadia has the subconscious ability to quickly figure out what you are interested in and drive the tour in that direction. For example: history, the arts, food. The walking and the boatride are freeform and they take you to the places you would be most interested in. Highly recommended!

Our tour guide Nadia was the most engaging and helpful guide from the booking then throughout the tour. We had to adjust our itinerary due to inclement weather but the result was perfect. Nadia is very informative and passionate about her customers and Venice!

Nadia was a very experienced historian on the venezian culture. She planned our trip to be off the beaten path and away from all of the tourist mobs that usually surround venice. The private water taxi was very enjoyable and gave a differen perspective of venice via water way that we could not have experienced by land. Moreover, the land tour which included hidden paths and walkways through non tourism neighborhoods was a refreshing yet enlightening history tour of venice that was totally unexpected. Nadia is the best tour guide. We saw so much of Venice that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. She kept us off the beaten path and we were able to avoid crowded streets. She showed us some of the most incredible locations. This should be the first tour you book in Venice! Highly recommend.

Nadia our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about Venice. Every detail has a story and she knew them all! It was cold and rainy the day we went so our trip took a bit of a turn, but otherwise would definitely recommend a tour with her if you want yo know about the nitty gritty.

Nadia was an amazing tour guide. She took us to places in Venice we never would have gone to or found. She had great knowledge of the history of Venice. There was not a question she could not answer. At the end of our tour, she helped us negotiate a water taxi for the next day to get to the Venice airport. We never could have done that ourselves. She would not take no for an answer from the taxi guys.

We had a wonderful tour with Nadia! We appreciated her grasp of Venetian history and love of her city. Nadia took us to small out of the way places that were a special treat and you always knew she was there for just us during this time. The included private water tour was truly excellent. The captain is a total pro and we found ourselves winding through some of the smaller canals I never would have imagined our very comfortable boat could navigate. A wonderful afternoon - and we did feel a little like Venetians by the end.

Wow! What a wonderful experience! Linda was so interesting and passionate. So many people said “Ciao, Linda!” throughout our tour that I felt like we were Venetians for a day too! We had some wonderful pastries and a relaxing lunch too!!

Nadia spent 2 hours walking with us around Venice landmarks and teaching us history of this beautiful city, showing great shops and restaurant. We also spent an hour in a private water taxi. This was a great experience for us. We highly recommend Nadia.

Nadia, the guide, is absolutely fabulous. She started our tour with the history of Venice, which was very helpful. She walked us around the back streets of the city and taught us things I’m sure other tourists never learn. The boat ride was terrific as well. Would highly recommend this for a small group- we had just our family of 5 and it was perfect.

We spent a wonderful afternoon with Nadia. She took us off the beaten path and shared her deep knowledge of Venice and its history with us and our children. Loved all the insights and little details of Venetian life, history and architecture that were explained clearly and with a warm sense of humour. Was wonderful to see Venice through the eyes of a local and not as a tourist, and it really does seem like Nadia knows everyone!

It was a very nice morning with Nadia, she told us very interesting things about the city and also did it in a very good Spanish, despite having told us that her Spanish was not the best. While walking through Venice she offered us a coffee and special cakes that are only sold during the time close to the carnival, she is very close with people when talking about the city, it really is like talking to a friend. Then we rode in a water taxi that was luxury for an hour, where he kept telling us stories of the city from the perspective of a Venetian and also took some beautiful photos.

Nadia always manages to surprise me! It is not the first tour of Venice I have done with her and it will definitely not be the last! A tour with Nadia is always a ‘new experience, fantastic! The view of Venice from the water, comfortably accommodated with my friends in a beautiful Venetian taxi, admirably led by a very good commander is a wonderful experience that I recommend to everyone!
