It was so informative and the artwork was stunning!
If you’re visiting Venice, don’t miss the Venice Carnival Museum, at only €10 a ticket it offers great value for money. While the exquisite collection of Venetian carnival masks and costumes is reason enough to visit, the museum offers so much more. Walking through the galleries feels like traveling through centuries of artistic and cultural history. The exhibits beautifully trace the evolution of Venetian craftsmanship, from elaborate Baroque masterpieces to later artistic interpretations, showcasing the incredible skill and imagination that have made Venice a global symbol of creativity. Every room tells a story, and the attention to detail is remarkable. One of the highlights was seeing a rare signed Picasso piece on display. Encountering such an iconic work in an intimate setting was completely unexpected and made the visit even more special. It adds another fascinating layer to a museum that celebrates not only Venice’s artistic heritage but also its connection to the broader world of art. The museum is thoughtfully curated, well presented, and offers plenty of information without feeling overwhelming. Whether you’re passionate about art, fascinated by history, or simply looking for something unique beyond the usual tourist attractions, this museum is absolutely worth your time. A hidden gem that deserves far more recognition. Five stars!
A beautiful, calm and excellently curated exhibition. A great escape from the hustle and bustle of Venice. I did not know much about the history of Carnival, so it was a great introduction to the subject. I would highly recommend. It’s just two mins from the Zatterre water bus! Air conditioned too and friendly staff 👌🏾
Incredible Experience!!!! Highly recommend!
The Venetian Carnival Museum is an enchanting journey into the heart of Venice’s most magical celebration. Beautifully curated exhibits of ornate masks, sumptuous costumes, and historical artifacts bring the tradition to life with both elegance and authenticity. Interactive displays and well-researched panels give clear context to the social and artistic significance of Carnival, while atmospheric lighting and period music create a truly immersive experience. Knowledgeable, friendly staff add warmth and insight, and the museum’s layout makes exploring effortless and enjoyable. A must-visit for culture lovers, costume enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to feel the timeless spirit of Venetian festivity.
This was a lovely museum with some incredible paintings and porcelain sculptures. I hope it may expand in future with some support. Would definitely recommend the entry price!

This is a wonderful small gallery. The design is very done with great care.
A gorgeous exhibition right in the heart of Zattere. I didn’t expect that much at first, since it’s a relatively small gallery, but I was blown away. Would definitely recommend to all art lovers — such a unique and diverse space. Probably the best exhibition on the history of the Venetian carnival, comparable only to the one in Ca’ Rezzonico. The staff is incredibly helpful and polite, too.
Gorgeous collection and such an interesting history. I loved the information of commedia dell’arte as well as Venice’s carnival celebration. Highly recommend!
A jewel of a museum with some beautiful paintings, costumes and sculpture. Picasso, Moro, Chagall and so many more artists.
