Great communication beforehand with our tour guide Majid, we met at an agreed spot and proceeded to walk around, spotting hidden treasures and hearing about the history of Venice. Every question was answered and Majid was patient and good humoured. It was so interesting and great value for money, very pleased we booked and would 100% recommend 👍 Louise & Gordon.
Ragdha was an excellent guide, customising the tour to fit what we’d asked for, i.e. one or two touristy things like the Rialto, but focusing more on off-the-beaten-track aspects of the city. She was knowledgable, interesting and good company through the two hours of our walk. We definitely saw and learned about parts of Venice we’d never have come across otherwise. It was a very nice touch when she WhatsApped us recommendations for restaurants and gelato after the walk had ended!

We booked with TripAdvisor who subcontracted to Guydeez tours. Would check and see if it is cheaper to book direct next time. We were so grateful to our tour guide Majid for being flexible and patient. Our flight was delayed so we had to adjust times. It was a scorching day and we were exhausted from overnight travel so he paced out tour accordingly. Majid met us promptly at our hotel, texted via WhatsApp that he was there, and toured us through 2 of the 6 sestieri (districts). We stayed primarily in San Marco (St. Mark's Square and Doge's Palace) and San Polo (the Rialto bridge and an authentic mask making shop where we felt a little pressured to linger and purchase). Majid was the real deal guide, clearly extensively educated and carrying maps and visuals with him and pointing out many small details we would have missed. He blended practical knowledge with fun stories and interesting historical details. He made suggestions about where to shop, eat, and see when we asked him but did not push any one particular vendor other than the mask shop. This is definitely the way to get the "lay of the land" for the most touristy parts of Venice but would not satisfy anyone looking to see the Jewish ghetto in Cannaregio, or explore the art and student hub of Dorsoduro, or see the shipyards or gardens of Castello. To be fair, we grossly underestimated the size of Venice and getting to all of those in a 2 hour tour is wildly unrealistic!

I had reserved this tour 1.5 months prior was assigned a guide that was proactively communicating with us. 5 days prior to our tour the guide was changed and though I expressed concern I was assured it was one of their top guides. I attempted to contact the guide multiple times to confirm the tour agenda with no success. 2:30am the day of the scheduled tour the guide reached out recommending we change our tour from 9:30am to 17:00. The guide did not show at 9:30am and after reaching out to the tour company they responded but as well wanted to reschedule and assign a new guide.
Majid was great, knowleable and respectful to our needs. He showed everything in detail including history lesson.

Venice is beautiful and Majid, our guide, was terrific. Touring late June is very hot and humid. I think May would be better.
Our guide, Majid was happy to create a tour including places we asked to see as well as things that he thought we would enjoy. We communicated in advance through WhatsApp. He also helped us purchase water taxi tickets in order to ride the Grand Canal. He was a wealth of information and we enjoyed his knowledge of Venice. The morning we spent with our guide gave us the awareness to confidently move around Venice for the remainder of our stay.
Sneh was amazing! He didn’t get my message about what we wanted to see ahead of time but it worked out perfectly because he had already seeing the things we don’t normally see on a tour. If you want to feel like your friend is showing you their town than request him because he will definitely make you feel like a local!

This is the BEST way to see and feel part of the Venetian community from an insider perspective. Away from the crowds Venice is relaxed, friendly and welcoming. Local shopkeepers in bars and food shops happy to help. The pace was relaxed. My wonderful guide quickly checked out my interests- walking, history, beautiful architecture and art, Botany, real stories and people and food. Jack was a tremendous guide for our walking tour if Venice. We have not had a better guide! We started at St Mark’ square and wondered up to and across the Rialto bridge and then back. Make sure you ask for Jack.
Michael met us outside our rental apartment and took us all over Venice. We saw places and learned facts that we would not have discovered by ourselves. After the tour he followed up and sent links to all of his recommendations.
My guide was a young man named Wayne, who spoke superb English (as well as Italian) and who knows every inch of Venice. We spent 90% of the time walking in areas where there were few tourists (places I would probably never have gone on my own). We covered a HUGE area and I was exhausted by the end but it was the best tour I've ever taken. He knows so much history and he explained it all very well.

Jack was an excellent guide. Only having a limited time in Venice, he gave us a great overview and provided many good insights into the culture and inner workings of the various districts. We had booked a private walking tour and then asked Viator to change it to another experience as my husband had an issue with his leg. They were not at all flexible and did not accommodate my request. Then at the date and time of the tour no one appeared. We had to rush our lunch so we will be on time, but our guide did not appear and was not answering our calls. Totally unprofessional and disappointing. After I contacted the support they offered another guide to start one and a half hour later something that changed our plans for the afternoon. Nevertheless Majid our new guide was super polite, knowledgeable and answered all our questions. I would recommend him!

Fari brought us on a guided tour of the lesser known Venetian sestieri (neighbourhoods). We started at the Jewish Ghetto and walked through Cannaregio, Castello and ended in Arsenale. Fari is a very informative and interesting tour guide. His english is excellent. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to see a more local Venice.

What a wonderful way to see the non touristy places of Venice. Nicolleta was excellent and answered all our questions about every Venetian subject we discussed from food, history, current culture. She communicated with us prior to the tour and also helped us right before the tour when we missed our water taxi stop. She understood my husbands walking difficulties and took time with us. If you want to see and really learn about Venice this tour is for you.

We booked this tour on our first day in Venice. Our guide Farid was excellent and very knowledgeable. He reached out to us before our tour and wanted to know what we were interested in seeing. He was able to customize the tour based on our interests. He showed us popular tourist attractions as well as less known sites. This is a great way to get an overview of Venice and an understanding of the city’s history.
