Our guide is a "local" who grew up in Venice, and is highly educated in history and art. She shared so much interesting and valuable information about the city and its culture., and, really, what it's like to live in Venice. We visited 3 sestieri, including Cannaregio, which had not been to yet (a "hidden gem"). The views from the rooftop at the end were spectacular and I was able to get some photos looking over the Grand Canal that were much different from my others. Highly recommend.
Denys was very helpful and informative!
Camilla gave us an experience. Highly recommended
An excellent walking tour of Venice that gets you off the busy tourist strips. Olympia was an excellent guide who shared her deep knowledge of Venice with us.
Great experience, original, excellent food & great variety of drinks. Very good guide
It was a great way to learn about Venice.
Excellent trip ... Giorgia was fabulous
Wonderful walking tour and guide Georgia. I highly recommend doing this to learn about Venice history and local living.
This Was the best way to start our time in Venice. Camilla is born and bred in Venice and showed us many of the backstreets that tourists miss. She showed us delicious restaurants that we ate at and paid half the price of anywhere in Italy so far. Her local knowledge and love for the place gave us a great orientation and our own love for the people and the place. The final rooftop view (not accessible apart from the tour) & waterside prosecco in a beautiful hotel was the pièce de résistance. This was well worth the money. You’ll see and learn things that you would never learn without a local’s insights. I highly recommend this tour, and strongly suggest doing it at the start of your stay. If in any doubt, let Intrepid’s commitment to sustainable tourism push you over the li e. A big thank you to Camilla for your kindness and hospitality in sharing your home with us. You really made our trip to Venice! ❤️
Denis was an amazing tour guide - we had so much fun, learned a lot, and ate & drank very well! Highly recommend this experience if you want a tour of places you would expect to go.
Irene was the guide and she was great. Lots of local history and walks through non-crowded, non-tourist neighborhoods. Got a good feel of Venice and its geography as well. Highly recommend
This extraordinary tour by Ludo, a local born in Venice provided a unique look at the local culture and community as well as the history of the city.
Fabulous experience with Carmella, taking us around the local and less known about places in Venice - fish market, recommended restaurants, chocolatier, shops, one of the few rooftop terraces accessible finishing with a Prosecco by the water. Lots seen in the time frame with a friendly and helpful guide. Thank you!
This was a wonderful tour showing us the local side on Venice. Our guide Irene was full of knowledge about the history and culture of Venice. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting.
Giorgia was amazing! Extremely informative. Personable. Professional
Amazing experience, very knowledgeable guide! So glad I booked this. Well worth it!
The tour was one of the highlights of our trip! It was the perfect way to experience the city beyond the usual tourist spots. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about Venice, sharing fascinating stories and hidden gems we never would have discovered on our own. The tour felt authentic, relaxed, and personalized, giving us a much deeper appreciation for the city's history, culture, and local life. If you're looking for a unique and memorable way to experience Venice, I highly recommend Uncommon Venice. It was worth every minute!
What a fantastic way to explore the city! Venice has so much more to offer than its famous tourist-filled alleyways. From artisan stamp makers and Gutenberg-era print shops to authentic Murano glassmakers, it would be a shame to miss these hidden gems—and on this tour, you won't. You'll discover a chocolate drink made from an 18th-century recipe, visit one of the oldest markets in Europe, and enjoy one of the best views of the Grand Canal. And that's just a small taste of what you'll experience! Highly recommended!
If you want to experience a more peaceful and authentic side of Venice, this is the tour you are looking for! Our guide was great, the group was small and so she could make it really personable, she was really involved and made us understand how Venetians live their everyday lives in such a special place. The Prosecco at the and was just the perfect way to end the tour!
This was such a fabulous, interesting, delicious, fun trip. My charming guide Camilla was so knowledgeable about the local makers and retailers, I came away with a sense of history and so many great recommendations for food and transport options. I learned about the local education system and how children and families live in Venice today. We went to a chocolate maker who recreate the Goldoni recipe from 1700s. And to a rooftop bar to see all of Venice. It was marvellous. Thankyou Camilla x
This is the perfect tour to discover the authentic side of Venice. Enjoy a pleasant walk through the city’s charming calli (narrow streets), far from the crowded tourist areas, and experience the real everyday life of Venetians. Discover where locals shop, where their children go to school, where they live and work, and where they enjoy a relaxing mid-morning break with a delicious cup of hot chocolate. This tour reveals a different Venice—peaceful, unspoiled, and full of hidden charm. Accompanied by a local guide, you’ll hear fascinating stories and anecdotes about the city, as well as insights into Venetian traditions and daily life. The experience ends with a breathtaking view from the terrace of a historic Venetian palace, offering a truly unforgettable finale. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the genuine soul and authenticity of Venice.
Amazing tour. The guide Camilla is the best. A local born and raised in Venice so she knows it all. She only do small groups up to max. 10 people. We went with her for 2 and a half hour without a dull moment. Worth every Euro in our opinion. We can highly recommend her and the tour.
Fantastic tour with Camilla who was a great guide. We saw so many amazing hidden gems rooftops places to eat and drink. Would highly recommend
Hidden Gems of Venice was the most amazing tour. Denys, our tour guide, having lived in Venice was able to show us the hidden treasures away from the tourist areas. His knowledge and welcoming attitude made our tour very special. I would recommend this tour 100%. From his interesting information to laneways, markets, history, chocolate maker and Prosecco on a roof top make us feel we experienced the true Venice. 100% happy.
Wow! This is a must-do experience for anyone who wants to see the real Venezia away from the crowds. Our tour guide Camille, a born and bred local resident guided us through the tiny streets of Venezia, providing us with insights on what it is like to live here today, along with the origins of the city and how it has evolved in time. We saw the oldest bar in Venezia, the most extraordinary spice shop, and she showed us what to look for when seeking out the authentic experience of Venetian products and experiences. We got to enjoy a resurrected 300-year old chocolate drink recipe at the specialty chocolatier's shop, and peep in the windows of tiny shops were artisans have continued their traditional crafts for hundreds of years. We visited the local fresh food markets, with the most incredible fruits, vegetables, and seafood, and get recommendations on where to eat and what places to visit. We saw a side of Venezia that is far from.the hustle and bustle and so beautifully peaceful, and ended our tour with a rooftop view of the amazing city. This tour adds such a rich depth to your experience and you see a wonderful side of Venezia that you never knew existed. A must do for anyone who enjoys seeing more than just the popular landmarks.
Very entertaining, varied, some new sides of Venice, local tips.
It was wonderful to see the more hidden Venice, where the residents live and where there are still artisanal shops for the citizens. The aperitif in front of the Grand Canal is very nice
Wonderful visit and experience. Thank you Camilla!
I participated in this tour almost out of curiosity and in the end I was really satisfied. It is a pleasant experience, well organized and with the right timing, without rushing. The guide is knowledgeable and manages to describe Venice in a simple and interesting way. It was a great opportunity to see the city from a different point of view and spend a few hours in good company. I recommend it both to those visiting Venice for the first time and to those who have already been there and want to do something different. Definitely an experience I would do again
