Alex/Alessandro was wonderful! He’s not only a proud born-and-bred Venetian, but a history teacher for over 30 years. Everything was seamless as he led us through the highlights and fascinating details. He also gave us extra time, which we very much appreciated!
Had a great tour with Alessandro. He was a wealth of information and gave us more than we had ever expected. Highly recommend.
Alessandro was a great tour guide- passionate and enthusiastic to say the least!
Had a great tour with Alex of St. Mark’s and the Palace. As a history teacher he walked us through the like eager pupils. We even saw a few hidden treasures and enjoyed a drink together at the end. Recommend at the highest levels!
Alessandro is a fantastic guide! He is smart, energetic, friendly, and gave us a wonderful tour of the Basilica and the Doge’s Palace. We couldn’t recommend him more highly! Grazie mille, Alessandro!
Alessandro was truly knowledgeable, affable, and engaging. He was enthusiastic and clearly delighted to share the details of his city. I would definitely use his again
Wonderful experiencia to have Alessandro as a guide, very knowledgeable and very interesting facts he shared.
Alex was a great guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. Great tour for family’s. We skipped all the lines and entry was a breeze.
Great detailed tour of the doges palace and st marks basilica. Our travel plans changed and Alessandro still got us through and gave us a great tour for our family Of 6. He took photos and did an excellent job we highly recommend his tour!
Alex was such a wonderful host, guide, and historian. He greeted us warmly and enthusiastically. His knowledge of the basilica and palace was thorough yet not pedantic. We saw everything. We would readily recommend Alex if you want a fun and educational experience. Alex, grazie a Lei, Max and Gunner
We had a wonderful time. Alessandro was very knowledgeable and energetic. We enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommend
Alessandro was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Venice and its history. His ability to explain small details, as well as his ability to be a storyteller, not just a history teacher made the tour much more interesting than the usual guide experience. This was my first experience with a personal, as opposed to group, guided tour and it was well worth it.
Our guide was professional, well informed, knew the history as of he was there., amazing guy. He was on time and did all that he promised
Alessandro is an instant classic. His passion for everything Venice just flows from every sentence, expression and movement. Such a joy to be around and his knowledge is unmatched. If we can remember 1% we will be experts. Enjoy your visit and leave your worries behind.
Alex was a first class guide. Entertaining, knowledgeable helpful. Will highly recommend him.
We had a wonderful day with Alessandro. He speaks excellent English and, being a Venetian, is very knowledgeable of the area. Personalized tour of San Marco, Doge's Palace, and final stop in Murano. A special day with family in Venice.
Super fun. Very informative.
We had a wonderful tour today with Alessandro!! He was very knowledgeable, interesting, and so friendly. His English is perfect and his love for this city, and these places was evident in the way he shared the history with us. He made us love this city even more. Thank you Alessandro for a very memorable experience! Your new friends, Mark & Julie.
It was really amazing. Alessandro is so knowledgeable and personable. He is a local and has such a deep passion for Venice and its history. I was truely overwhelmed with joy throughout the tour and would highly recommend to anyone seeking to tap into Venice’s rich culture and traditions.
Alessandro is a native Ventian and an historian, making his insights into Venice especially meaningful. Starting in St Mark's square early one morning, we learned about the very early history of Venice's foundings, the history of St Mark's arrival, and the exterior of the Doge Palace. We then went into the Doge Palace, seeing everything from the courtyard and its marble adornments to the glorious art in the many governmental rooms that the Doge and the senate worked in. We saw the prison cells and walked over the bridge of sighs. It was spectacular! Then, because we had a difficult time getting tickets into St Mark's that coordinated with Alex's schedule, we met with Alex again in the late afternoon to go into St. Mark's Basilica. The church is astounding but the guide made all the difference - talking about all the mosaics, their dates and restorations, their religious significance, their origins, and the floods that have threatened the basilica. We even got to see the Pala d'Oro, and Alex's tidbits about it were so interesting and informative. Between his knowledge, passion for Venice, and flexibility with our schedule, his company was invaluable. He even got us pointed to a less touristy gondoleer so we could have that experience too. Bottom line - Alex is a fantastic resource and a lovely guide who gives the art and history of Venice life with his passion and knowledge. We were so thrilled with him and the tour!
Alejandro is very passionate and knowledgable. Private tour was fabulous. So glad we did it. We learned so much!!
Alessandro did an incredible job!!! We got lucky and had a totally private tour with just myself, my husband, and Alessandro. So we were pleasantly surprised! Alessandro is a native Venetian AND an educated historian, so his knowledge of St Mark’s, Doge’s Palace, and Venice as a whole is amazing. He made sure to point out all the details we would definitely miss if it weren’t for him. My jaw stayed open at the beauty and grandeur of these places. We are definitely planning another trip to Venice, and will absolutely book another tour with Alessandro!
Had an amazing tour with Alex as our guide. The Basilica was beyond description. It is absolutely unreal the amount of detail and work that went into it. It is absolutely essential to see the hallmark. Alex did a wonderful job of telling the history and significance of of all of the details.
Alessandro was an excellent guide providing lots of interesting facts and historical perspective. Since he is native to Venice and a student of history, you will enjoy a wonderful tour of Venice. We particularly liked his tour of Doge Palace & Museum
Wonderful tour of Doge Palace with Alessandro. It exceeded my expectations! Alessandro was knowledgeable and friendly, providing fascinating insights and stories throughout the journey. The itinerary was well-organized, allowing us to explore key highlights without feeling rushed. The transportation was comfortable, and the small group size made for an intimate experience. I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the local culture. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience that left me wanting to book another tour. Highly recommend!
The weather was perfect. The crowds were everywhere, but Alessandro brought us to both wonderful sites and we saw everything. His depth of knowledge of all the mosaics and the history and the length of time these beautiful representations of Venice have been here was remarkable. We highly recommend him for any future visits to Venice. You is talented and entertaining.
Wonderful afternoon with Alessandro - engaging, energetic, knowledgeable- the spirit and history of Venice through the heart of a Venetian. We recommend highly!!
Alessandro was an outstanding tour guide. His in-depth knowledge and information was quite impressive. He is a true historian. We recommend him highly for your next Venice tour! He’s the best!
Best tour Guide! He is really passionate about the history of Venice! He made the tour very really interesting and fun. Best local tips too.
We had an awesome 5 hour day with Alessandro and would highly recommend him. Among other highlights of our walk, he was very informative especially thru San Marco Basilica and Doge's Palace in San Mark's square. It went so well we didn't even mind the rain we had. Towards the end, he recommended 2 places to grab a bite to eat and we tried them both after our tour was thru and they both we fantastic. Before we said goodbye, we stopped with him at this small place for a spritz before parting ways. If you want a walking tour thru Venice, he's the person to ask for!
We had an incredible experience with Alessandro Trabucco on our tour of Venice. His knowledge of the history and arts made our tour entertaining and informative. He made our day so much better that we had drinks and pastries together after to just spend more time together. He truly is the Tour Leader of Venice!
Alessandro was brilliant with the children and really brought the tour to life. His shared his deep local knowledge with impeccable cadence and we finished at a lovely gelateria to refresh us all.
We had a private tour. He is very knowledgeable, professional, has a great demeanor and sense of humor. We really enjoyed his tour and visiting these places wouldn’t have been the same without him. He presented us with many interesting facts about what we were seeing. What a fantastic experience. We would highly recommend him! 5+ Stars!
Alessandro was such a great tour guide , he knows so much about Venice and he is very proud of what he tells. He really cares about his job and it shows , we learnt so much and had fun on the tour !! Highly recommend.
Our day in Venice was spent with the very best of guides, Alessandro. He knows his stuff and is very passionate about wanting you to understand his countries history. Way beyond what we expecting and are thrilled we were able to hook up with him. Be sure to get your tickets online prior to meeting him as you could miss part of his offerings. Alessandro we wish you the very best and thanks for setting us up going over to murano and burano islands. An incredible experience even though they weren’t apart of the tour. Great advice!! Brent and Dru
If you want to learn about Venice from a passionate Venetian, Alessandro is outstanding. He was very accommodating to one member of our group who was having some mobility issues. He knows how to maneuver through the crowds and show us what is important to see. San Marco was closed but he still arranged for us to get in and see a great deal. He had some great recommendations for us while we were in Venice. Our tour lasted longer than expected but I believe that is because Alesssandro has so much to share. He finished our tour at a nearby bar for Prosecco and cicheti. Fabulous memories of this day. We will be back!
Great 2 hour tour of St. Mark’s Basilica and Doge’s Palace. Alessandro, our guide spoke perfect English. He was very accommodating and purchased skip the line entrance tickets for us in advance, which were not included in the tour price. He covered all the highlights of the Basilica’s exterior and interior, as well as interesting details of the Doge’s Palace and prison. Perfect amount for time.
Alessandro was our enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide for St. Mark’s Basilica and Doge’s Palace. The 2-hour tour was the perfect amount of time to see the beautiful cathedral and its stunning mosaics especially while traveling with two college age young adults. Alessandro covered the history of both landmarks in an entertaining manner. The Doge’s Palace was impressive and it’s prisons haunting. The price of the tour did not include the skip the line entrance tickets which Alessandro purchased in advance and we reimbursed him when we met. Very enjoyable tour!
Alessandro was excellent throughout the experience from email communication 2 months prior to our visit to the tours itself. He very promptly responded to emails, and was very helpful guiding me to the website for Douge Palace tickets. He also bought our tickets for “skip the line” access to the Basilica of San Marco, for which I reimbursed him seamlessly. Our group of 8 were all very impressed by his friendliness and knowledge of Venice and answered every question we had. We did a 2 hour walking tour in the morning and had lunch at a wonderful Venetian Trattoria which was crowded with locals including 2 tables of gondoliers! After lunch we walked to the Basilica followed by Douge Palace. Alessandro teaches history in secondary school in Mestre, but was born and raised in Venice, and it shows. He is clearly very proud of his hometown and it’s people! Cannot give him a high enough rating for everything we learned and saw in the 6 hours we were with him!
After reading reviews for this tour, I was excited to learn that we would have Alessandro as our guide, and he lived up to all my expectations! He was excellent in communicating with me, making sure that I knew what tickets to get ahead of time and where to meet on the day. Alessandro took our unexpected use of a wheel chair in stride and adapted our itinerary to match our restrictions, and helped push the chair around. I really appreciated his use of visual tools to underscore his explanations (for me) and his ability to describe things to my blind mother in a way that she could understand what we were seeing. We had a lot of fun and would sign up for a tour with him any time. He even helped us later to get to the correct platform at our hotel using the water bus and saw us to our door. An amazing and wonderful man! Thanks!
Alexander was wonderful, so knowledgeable, took extra time to take pictures for us! We would highly recommend him!! Thank you so much for wonderful history lesson about St Marco Basilica and Ducal palace!
Thank you very much Alessandro! My 12-year-old son and I spent 3 unforgettable hours in Venice, visiting St. Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace. Not only did you take care of everything, saving us from standing in a long line, but you also inspired my 12 year old son with your lively, interesting and informative stories. We could feel, that you guide with passion and that you truly know the history of your native city . And you have the skills of someone who has studied art history and knows how to transmit history also to young people. Alla prossima, ciao! L&E
Alessandro was a very knowledgeable tour guide. He met us earlier than the original time. He went above and beyond by assisting in purchasing the entrance tickets in advance. He made sure we had a break between both locations to recharge before continuing the tour. He was very responsive leading up to the tour and was easy to find. Also liked that he would alert us when there were picture moments , so we would have our phones ready. He also pointed out important and iconic pieces. We would recommend booking a tour with him. Thanks again Alessandro! Yours truly, The backpack lady
Alessandro is the best tour guide! Right now, it isn't possible for us to visit Venice from the states so we did an online tour. Alessandro exceeded all of my expectations. My best friend and I joined via Zoom with a glass of Prosecco and a plate of Italian cheese, just to set the tone. Our tour was so informative and beautiful, as if we were there in person. I can't wait to visit Venice and book an in person tour with him. He is very knowledgeable, a great teacher and passionate about the area. I am going to book another online experience to do with my Mom. This is a great, interactive experience for friends, date night, a family 'vacation' or happy hour. Thank you!
Had a fantastic 2.5 hours private tour with Alessandro. Hands down the best tour guide I ever had! We saw the Doge Palace, the Pridon, the Armory and the S. Marco’s Basilica
A fun and very informative tour of St Peter’s Basilica and Doges Palace. Alessandro is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Venice and lives to share his knowledge of this wonderful city and it’s arts, architecture and history with his guests. Makes it a fun experience as well. Thanks and see you again on our next trip!
Professional, precise, prepared, and friendly, and above all passionate and engaging in his explanations, making them simple and clear. Recommended
