Dennis from Venice was an excellent guide and knew the city well. The bites and drinks were plentiful and very specific to the area.

A true tiny gem in the heart of Venice: built later than most others and by only one man, the church of Miracoli was practically untouched over the course of the past centuries.
One of the more unique bridges to be found in Venice, since it is the only one without parapet.

Claudia was an excellent guide. I'd highly recommend this experience with her. Venice was quite crowded at the time of our visit, so she took us on streets that were less crowded. We explored the Canneregio and Jewish Ghetto neighborhoods, learned many interesting bits of Venecian history and culture, and enjoyed delicious food and drinks. We were a group of two, one of us vegetarian and one us pescetarian. The restaurants/bars Claudia took us to easily accomodated us. This was a relaxing, interesting, fun evening with a local guide who helped us get a great feel for Venice.
Claudia not only gave us a history lesson on Venezia, she took us off the beaten path to sample great food, and to top it off, she provided answers for us concerning the maze of available water taxis and which taxis we needed to take in order to meet-up with our Dolomites tour group and the best way to visit the Murano and Burano Islands. She was really invaluable!
We were arriving in Venice late in the afternoon on Saturday, with only a day and a half in Venice. I found WithLocals on Google and chose Claudia. She was a wonderful guide, and very easy to talk to. She made our trip to Venice!! The "Drinks & Bites' tour was fantastic. I will recommend your company to all my friends. Claudia is a gem!!
We really enjoyed our time with Loris, he was so informative but chatted with us as friends. He did a great job of finding local great fresh Cicchetti and had great cocktail and wine recommendations. I definitely feel like he exceeded our expectations. I would schedule a cicchetti tour as early as possible in your stay in Venice so you can utilize what you’ve learned in your trip
We did this tour on our first night in Venice, and it was a great introduction to the city. Giada was a phenomenal host for our tour, as she took us to several places to sample many different cicchetti and wines. She was also very informative about the city, and gave us several recommendations for the rest of our stay in Venice. 10/10 would recommend this tour with Giada to anyone visiting Venice for the first time!
Giada was fantastic. She is incredibly knowledgeable about Venice wines food and hidden gems. She was delightful to spend the evening with and we wish we had met her earlier in the week as she showed us so many off the beaten path must do’s. If you’re debating this tour you will not be disappointed from our teen to our 20 yr olds to our age she was helpful and fun for all ages. We definitely will tour with her again We had a hiccup with first tour guid but Susanna in office responded immediately to concerns and got us connected with Giada
Adair was a great guide through the city! Introduced me to some great spots with good food and good drinks. She’s super knowledgeable and a great storyteller, too!
We have visited Venice many times, taking lots of different tours but this time we chose something different. The tour was private, just the 3 of us and we met on a hot evening in Campo Apostoli. Over the next 2 hours we visited 3 bars/ Bacari which were off the beaten track. At each one we had a drink and cicchetti, these included fish of some kind on a thin wafer/ crispbread, meatballs, sardines with onions and crostini. We had an extra stop for a deep fried meatball at one particular place as Adair wanted one herself, this place does the best in town apparently. Adair is a friendly host and easy to communicate with as she is an American who now lives in Venice so there are no communication difficulties. We really enjoyed our tour and are hoping to do another tour with her when we return next year. If you are not a regular to Venice, this walk will be even more enjoyable as you will get to see some parts of the city you may not have visited before. Wear comfy shoes.
Loris was a phenomenal. His knowledge of the history of Venice added to the experience. Additionally, introduced me to with locals experience.
Giulia was an excellent host, who guided us around areas of Venice we had not previously visited. She took us to several small restaurants and introduced us to Venician, eating and drinking. Also she was a great source of information and full of tips for our continued vacation. Highest marks for the tour and Giulia as our guide.
Enjoyed the experience with Loris. Here gave us a nice history of Venice as we walked the streets. The aperitivo experience and selection was nice along with his knowledge of wine and culinary expertise. Visited some places we'd probably would have passed as a typical tourist. Visited during coronavirus scare so things were slow allowing us ample time.
Giada was such a wonderful young woman. Not only did she give us such a fantastic tour, we asked her for any recommendations on things to see before we met up with her, and she gave us such a long, amazing list of places to visit. Without her guidance we may have found a couple of these stops during our stay.. but she made our visit in Venezia the best it could have possibly been. If my wife and I could rate Giada any higher than possible, we would. Thank you again, Giada!
Nicola is an expert host! We learned about the wine, food and culture off the tourist path in Venice. We highly recommend this tour and Nicola is awesome!
Everything was great! Can strongly recommend Giada as a super friendly and highly knowledgeable guide!
A great time, learned so much about wine, was given tons of recommendations for food and learned a lot about Venice itself. Loris instantly felt like a friend not just a guide, it is a great way to learn about the hotspots and city upon arrival, highly recommended!
Great trip! Tour guide was extemely knowledgeable, interesting and good fun. Worth taking this tour as you get to see a few hidden bars that are well worth a visit!
Giada was our tour guide for our tired family group of five adults. She is a warm, friendly, engaging and focused guide sensitive and responsive to the needs and tastes of her clients, and it was a delight to be in her company. Her energy soon re-energized all of us, and we spent a few very pleasant hours one night exploring streets and visiting lively wine bars and eateries away from the holiday-week crowds that we would never have found on our own. She knows the local wines and food and offered delicious suggestions. Hopefully we can get back to Venice soon, and if so, we’ll definitely contact her again. We heartily recommend Giada.
What a lovely knowledgeable woman to show you her best bars for antipasti and wine. A truly amazing behind-the-scenes tour through the back alleys of Venice. Highly recommended and great value for money.
My mom and I had sooooo much fun with Giulia. She introduced us to some super awesome people and 3 different bars. Great experience.
Loris was outgoing and friendly. He was very well informed of the area and happy to share his love of the city with my mom and me. The restaurants he brought us to were wonderful. We had the best time!
The evening walk-about to local wine bars, off the beaten tourist track, was sensational. We learned so much about the nuance of early evening unwinding, and had chance to go to parts of Venice we never would have ventured to. Loris was extremely informed, totally involved in our learning and fun to be with. We loved seeing how Venetians enjoy their evenings....even with the tide water over their ankles. For sure, include this tour with Loris in your Venice plans.
We had an excellent time with Loris. The weather was awful, pouring rain but didn't matter as we were able to find seats in the three bars we went to.....helpful for me, a 65 year old, not a problem for my niece and nephew. This tour orientated us to Cannaregio particularly and gave us a taste of what drinks to order and the small bites to go with them. Loris gave us lots of wine ordering tips, history of the area and was an easy conversationalist. This private tour for three people I thought great value for money as three drinks and the eats were included and since Loris did all the ordering took the stress out of our first day in Venice when we were tired from travelling.
Ugo was fantastic. He taught us how to navigate the happy hour in Venice.... how to order cicchetis and get wine for 2 euros! Great tour!!
The tour was cancelled by the operator! & they also cancelled the 1hr canal tour. I have received 1 refund & I am still awaiting refund for the canal tour!!
Giada was absolutely amazing with the private tour! She told us plenty of fun facts about the history of Venice and we ate at quiet places away from all the crowds (two of them were right on a canal!). She also gave us a whole list of places to try during the rest of our stay. We ended up trying most of them and they were all delicious! We absolutely recommend this for a small group of people because the places she took us to had small seating areas.
Loris was a fabulous young man with such impeccable manners and charm! He catered for our small group very professionally adapting the day as required. The food and drinks were delectable and chosen with thought. The locations we stopped at, and the information Loris passes on was tuned to our knowledge, eg wine backgrounds, liquors, food we had, all the places we passed and stopped at. I really cannot recommend this tour and guide any higher. Please if you are considering this tour type ( a brilliant idea and personal touch makes the experience much better ) please give Loris a message and ask whatever you want. I am pretty sure he will have an answer and a plan! Many thanks Loris from the scottish ladies! 👌🏻🤗
What a fantastic experience. Walking round Venice with Giada was really interesting, we saw places we would never have found, and learnt some history on the way. The bars she chose were really lively, with excellent wine. Giada was the perfect host, we really enjoyed her company and the evening flew by. We would book another tour with her next time we are in Venice
I am giving this tour a high review because although the guide had to cancel the day of the tour they communicated with me and processed a refund promptly. The guide also shared the names of the bars she had planned to take us to which allowed my husband and I to do our own self guided tour and the recommendations were fantastic! It would have been more fun with the insight of the guide but we still had a lovely evening!
We did the Aperitivo tour with Giulia and is was excellent, a real highlight of our visit. Giulia is great company and we learnt a lot about Venice as we visited parts of the city we would never have seen otherwise, and the food and drink we tried was very good indeed. If you're looking for a fantastic Venice guide, then we highly recommend Giulia!
We had a great few hours with Nicola showing us some fantastic places to eat and drink in Venice, ensuring we tried some local favourites and adapting his route to meet our interests. Would def recommend this tour as a great way to see Venice. Thanks Nicola!
A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Ugo provided excellent insights into life in Venice (which included introducing us to friends in each of the bars that we visited!) & took around places we would not have visited. We sampled delicious food & drinks and he was great company. What more could you ask?!
Valerio was so fun! We got a great education while sipping on different wines and appetizers. Got to even drink on a little boat. Best part was it was off the beaten path and not tourist spot! Wish we could have gone longer. Thank you!
Alexsia is fun, native of Venice, traveler internationally, swing dancer that loves sharing unusual, unique quality tasty bites and wonderful local wine specialties (one place was organic wines).
My husband and I enjoyed our tour with Ugo. He brought us to 4 different places and some were off the beaten path and we would have never known about them if we had not done this tour. We tried some of the best meatballs ever at one stop and then ended the tour at a local wine bar. We revisited the local side of town he took us to every day of our trip after as we found it to be the most interesting. It was a great start to our stay in Venice.
We were really excited about this one as we expected it would be an opportunity to get a local person’s perspective and advice on our first evening in Venice. Our guide texted and asked to start 45 minutes late, and we agreed, but then she canceled after the original start time. She didn’t use the Trip Advisor messaging and she either didn’t see our responses to her texts or she chose to ignore them. The tour company offered up no replacement for that evening, but they did promise a refund after I complained. I understand that sometimes tours have to be canceled, people have personal lives and things happen, but I feel that the tour company should have communicated better and ideally had a backup plan so that we could have kept our original booking. This was a big disappointment.
Giada was the best!! She was very knowledgable and a lot of fun. She completely made our first night. Thank you so much!!
I had the best time with Guilia. She took me to 4 little bars that had the most amazing chichetti - all seafood - fantastic octopus, stuffed squid, prawns, sardines - and gluten free as I am a coeliac. I would never have found them myself and at each one we were greeted like long lost family. We drank Prosecco, tried some grillo wine and a local Venetian spritz with a taste between Aperol and Campari - loved it! Guilia was a delight and we didn't stop talking all night. I'm going to recommend her to all my friends.
Loris was a fantastic guide, we learnt lots of interesting facts and had some delicious drinks and food. Having Loris as a guide was a great experience and we recommend him highly. He also showed us, on his own time to an awesome restaurant for our dinner. Thanks again and ciao Jayne & Mark Australia
Firstly, the guide is a nice guy. He speaks English well, and will try to be accommodatng your schedule and interest. Second, if you want to get away from the touristy areas he'll show you. Third, and however, the image associated with this tour is misleading. This isn't a group tour. He's a private guide so if you are traveling solo this won't be a chance to meet others I fear. It's not a pub crawl of strangers.
Through out our two weeks in Italy we found that we enjoyed our experiences with personal guides instead of groups. Not only did we learn more about that tour but so much about Italy and the local city we were in. Giulia was no exception. We went to some great local places and my wife and I enjoyed talking to her and learning more about Venice.
We enjoyed the tour very much, very useful, funny and interesting site of Venice from an insider. Alexsia made this tour especially amazing with her good humour and fantastic personality. Would highly recommend this kind of tour, especially Alexsia.
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Ugo! We booked the tour for the evening on the day we arrived in Italy - we were introduced to some local cicchetti and wine and ended in the Cannaregio Sestiere on the Fondamenta Misericordia, where we just felt at home. It felt like we were hanging out with a friend by the end of the tour! If you enjoy trying local food and wine/drinks and hanging out with a great guy do not hesitate to book this tour with Ugo.
10 is not enough of a rating for Giada, what would be appropriate is 100% perfection. Giada was wonderful, she was very professional and extremely willing to take us places in Venice that is the real deal. These were places that made you feel as if you were at home with friends and family. Her choices were excellent, and the people we met where ever she took us were friendly and very hospitable towards us. As I said before, Great Tour and a truly Great and Wonderful Guide, and friend. Sincerely, Anthony Perino
This tour was the best way to start our visit in Venice. We saw places I had never been to even after several visits to Venice. Great food, great wine, and best of all great company. Giada could not have been a better guide. She provided info about the area, good places to eat, things to do, history of Venice. 15/10, I am serious! This was one of the most fun nights I have ever had in Venice.
Alexsia was such a wonderful guide. We went for the 2-hour apperativo/chiccetti tour on April 25th. Alexsia loves Venice, she grew up there and she shared with us the Venice that she knew - - where the locals go. We would not have been able to find those osterias on our own. We had a lovely with Alexsia exploring the bars and tasting the different chiccettis and apperativo. She is such a lovely and engaging person full of great insights on the city that she loves. We will definitely call on Alexsia again the next time we are in Venice. Alexsia - thank you for making our trip a special one in Venice. You rock! Definitely highly recommended! Anne from Los Angeles
We didn't know what to expect but our time with Giada was excellent. We saw places we would have never seen on our own. She is passionate about Venice and travel. I would recommend spending some time with Giada to anyone. She even helped us in the coming days with recommendations. Thanks Giada
Thanks to Giulia, I got a real taste of the Venetian aperitivo experience. She is friendly, open to suggestions and so helpful. I had got lost earlier in the day and she was actually gong to the train station after the tour so we went together. The places we went to were authentic, welcoming and a must for visitors to Venice. Again, thank you Giulia for a great evening. By the way, it was so good, I am repeating it in June.
Alexsia made this tour extra special, by just being her. Her love for this beautiful city is very obvious and her willingness to share it with us so generously, was even more special. I believe we've had the best cichetis and wines in Venice! We now have a new Venetian friend.
Ugo was a great host, very friendly, chatty and knowledgeable. I don't think it could have rained any heavier if it had tried on the night of our tour but it never put us off, we wadded on!! Visited some small bars that were off the beaten track and frequented by the locals. It was great to step away from the main tourist areas and visit these small intimate wine bars with snack type food and it gave us the confidence to visit these on our own during the remainder of our stay. Ugo pointed out many of things of interest and was just generally very interesting and knowledgeable. The 2 hours passed quickly and if it wasn't for the bad flood warning as our tour ended, we would have liked to have treated him to dinner as a Thank you! However, the weather eventually won and we had to head back to the hotel. We hope to visit Venice again and would definitely book with Ugo again. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.
