The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and shared lots of interesting information throughout the journey, which I really appreciated. Burano itself was beautiful, and the colourful houses were definitely the highlight of the trip. Unfortunately, apart from that, I felt as though I’d wasted a day. The demonstrations were very short and felt rushed, particularly the lace demonstration, which seemed to focus more on selling expensive tablecloths than explaining the traditional craft. There was little or no real demonstration of how the lace is actually made. The glass-making demonstration was also disappointing. The presenter spoke very quickly while switching between several languages, making it difficult to follow. The demonstration itself was brief, and there was very little explanation of the glass-making process. Many people, including me, couldn’t even see the furnace properly because the workshop was so crowded. The stop at the biscuit shop also felt like little more than a sales opportunity. There was nowhere to sit down, enjoy a drink, and sample the biscuits in a relaxed atmosphere, so the visit felt unnecessary. Overall, while the guide was excellent and Burano was lovely to visit, the rest of the excursion felt overly commercial and lacked the authentic demonstrations and experiences that had been advertised. I left feeling quite disappointed.
Giulia was a wonderful host and the tour was fantastic. Murano and Burano are a must-see, especially with a great host.
This is a tour from Venice that is clearly one not to miss!! Valentina was our guide for our 4.5 hr guided tour to Murano and Burano and she was really great - gave us tons of info, fun facts and was an exceptional guide! We were 4 adults with 2 teens. The Murano tour was a visual feast but my favorite was the eye candy of Burano. We learned about Burano lace and watched a demo by one of the few women on the island that are making Burano lace. We had 1.5 hrs of free time and had a nice lunch and shopped at the many stores. The houses in Burano and setting are unique and unforgettable. Just loved it!
Great excursion and very good value for money. Good communications and directions throughout the trip. Meeting place was straightforward to find. Our tour guide Camila was super friendly and informative during the trip. The glassmaking and lace demonstrations were interesting and just the right length of time, leaving plenty of additional time to explore the islands. Burano was especially pretty. Highly recommend.
Camilla was wonderful!! Meeting spot was not super clearly marked, and I was expecting a bit more of the demonstrations, especially the lace one. But it was still fun, and I enjoyed walking around to see the colorful houses of Burano 😊
This trip was very well organised and the guides were brilliant! We learned a lot about the islands. In Burano our guide recommended a lovely place to eat.. bar sport with amazing sea food. The islands are worth going to see .. very beautiful.
The islands were great but our guide Cassandra was FANTASTIC!!! She made the tour
Nice trip. Nicola was a very good guide very helpful.
good overview of Murano, Burano. Great guide, very informative and not boring. Tour good length of time, not too long. Value for money.
Tour was really good. We have plenty of time to discover the cities. Highly recommended 😊
A lovely day out with great historical and modern Venice insights. Thank you!
It was very helpful that they had different guides reading local history in different languages, and also having a earpiece helped so much, as I find many tours you cannot hear people, so this was brilliant, and our guide was very informative and kind, and the price was very reasonable, would recommend to anyone visiting Venice! Thank you
Giovanni was a fantastic guide and the tour was thoroughly organized to show us the highlight of each island; glass making at Murano, and embroidery/lace making in Burano. I also absolutely loved we had time to go explore the islands at our own pace. Would definitely book again with City Tours in the future!
Great tour, great value, we enjoyed it. Definitely recommend!
Alessia was an amazing guide who took extra time to talk to everyone. Thank you Alessia.
Alessia is an excellent guide! The whole experience was really nice. We totally recommend it!
Trip was AMAZING...especially the island of Burano with it pastel coloured homes and beautiful collection of Seafood Restaurants, ETC. Alicia is a Friendly, Knowledgeable & Happy Guide. Highly Recommended.
Valentina was a fantastic guide. Very friendly and knowledgable! It was great to meet her. 😀
Too many people crammed into boat . We had to stand on top Headphones not good could not hear guide . She had to repeat stuff when we got off
Was a really nice trip to Burano and Murano but sadly the earphones supplied by the Company were very poor quality, and we couldn't hear our guide telling us about where we were visiting. The boat was also really overcrowded and not enough space for everyone to sit down
We had an absolutely fantastic trip to Burano and Murano and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Everything was so well organised, giving us the perfect amount of time to explore both beautiful islands while learning about their fascinating history and traditions. A special thank you has to go to our wonderful guide, Elizabeth. She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic, bringing each destination to life with interesting stories and local insights. She made everyone feel welcome and ensured the whole day ran smoothly, always happy to answer questions and offer recommendations. Burano’s colourful streets were even more stunning than we imagined, and watching the master glassmakers at work in Murano was a real highlight. It was a memorable day from start to finish, and Elizabeth’s warmth and professionalism made it even more special. Thank you for such a wonderful experience—we’ll be recommending this tour to anyone visiting Venice!
Fun family adventure for the money
Great experience and the guid was great!!
It was a very enjoyable tour. There were only about nine of us so it was a very nice size to enjoy the tour. Both Murano and Burano were well worth the trip. The glass making factory was very interesting. I would recommend.
Ana was great! She was helpful, nice and sweet. The tour was worth it. I wish we had more time at Burano. What a lovely place.
We had a fantastic day visiting Murano and Burano with our guide, Ivana. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and kept everything well organised from start to finish. Her commentary was interesting without being overwhelming, and she made the whole experience enjoyable and relaxed. Both islands were beautiful, and the glass-blowing demonstration in Murano was fascinating, while Burano’s colourful streets were absolutely stunning. Thanks to Ivana, everything ran smoothly, and we never felt rushed. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Venice. Thank you, Ivana, for helping make our trip so memorable!
Fun boat ride, very informative guides. Glass blowing and lace making were short demonstrations, but you got to look and shop more. You have more time on Burano than Murano which is where you can get some good lunch before heading back.
Arena is a very special girl. We love our tour with her.
Amazing price for the services provided ! Irene was very informative … and kept track of all of us assigned to her ! Quite a feat . Answered all of our questions and provided fantastic local insight!
The trip was fabulous, informative and definitely worthwhile. Our guide Ivans was excellent.
The tour was fairly enjoyable and well timed. Our guide Irene was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Thanks for a great day out!
Irene was great and very informative! She always checked in and made sure all our questions were answered. The experience overall was amazing! I wish we stayed in Murano a bit longer, but staying in Burano for as long as we did was so much fun!
Elizabeth S was our tourguide and she was amazing!! Fun, energetic, great personality who truly loves her job and cares about what she’s showing us. Her enthusiasm was contagious. The Murano/Burano tour was absolutely awesome! Worth every cent!
Elizabeth was the best guide! She was very knowledgeable and extremely kind. I would recommend this guide and Elizabeth to everyone!!
Eliza was great, wonderful personality for our tour! She even saved us cookies when we accidentally missed a part of the tour. We did the Murano and Burano tour and loved the experience, made our trip to Venice so much better! Such unique and beautiful places to visit. My only retest is longer stops at each since we were rushing to shop/take pictures/explore each of the places. If you are going on 4 hour tour, I recommend skipping a sit-down lunch in Burano as it took up a lot of our free time.
Valentina was an excellent guide! The tour was very enjoyable and well worth the money!
David is a great guide and did a great job explaining history about Venice. We enjoyed our time during this tour.
We had David as our Tourguide and he was great at explaining and answering questions . We will definitely be back again . Perfect time for us since we wanted to still explore Venice
David was an amazing guide , very fun and informative.. we learned a lot about Venice history …and had a lovely time on the little islands Murano and Bulano ..✨✨✨✨✨✨
David was an Amazing guide! He was very knowledgeable and made the history interesting with humor and personality! Very funny! I learned a lot about Venice. I would recommend this tour with David to others.
Lovely experience and very friendly staff and knowledgeable guide. Fantastic experience overall
We met the group at the pier and the group was larger than expected. The ferry ride was fine. Bring toilet paper and antibacterial wipes. There was nothing in the bathroom. The guide was friendly and sweet. Clear communication and prompt pick up on each island. We had a 10 minutes glass blowing demonstration and a 3 minute lace demonstration. Free time on Murano was short couldn’t do much. Burano was a good amount of time. We had a nice lunch and gelato before heading back.
SO worth the money. We left at around 10:30 and arrived back in venice at 4 so a good day out and not expensive either. The activities are really good and really interesting to learn about Murano and Buranos history. Also, during the boat ride the guide was really good and we learned about all venices history and abit about the islands around it aswell. I would definitely reccomend,
Hillary was a brilliant guide, really insightful with information whilst being really clear and allowing time for questions. Really enjoyed the 2 stops and seeing the glass blowing and lace making. Would recommend the trip and Hillary!
Ilaria Is wonderful, knowledgeable, hospitable guide
All ok, the guide was very kind, patient, and helpful!
It was a great way to see the islands without having to worry about planning.
Nicola did a great job! Very friendly and informative. He even took the time to answer my questions after the tour was over.
Spent a full day island-hopping through the Venetian lagoon, and each stop had its own distinct personality. **Murano** kicked things off with a glass-blowing demonstration that was honestly mesmerizing — watching molten glass get shaped in real time, and seeing centuries of craftsmanship condensed into a 20-minute show. Even browsing the shops afterward felt different knowing what goes into each piece. **Burano** was the visual highlight of the day. The rainbow-colored houses lining the canals are somehow even more vivid in person than in photos — every corner is a new composition. It's small enough to wander without a real plan, and that's part of the charm. **Torcello** was the quiet contrast to the other two — fewer crowds, more history. Once a thriving settlement that predates Venice itself, it now feels almost abandoned, but the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta makes the stop worth it on its own. If you're short on time in Venice, this trio makes for a great half-day or full-day escape from the main island — glass, color, and history, all within a short boat ride of each other. Cost was about 30€. Not bad for a half day adventure! Guide was great too. Did the English tour. 4 languages were offered.
