Our tour guide never showed up ruing our day in Venice. Other tours we’ve taken with visitor were fine
Valerio was communicative, knowledgeable, and engaging. We modified the itinerary on the fly as we meandered past Bienniale exhibits, the gondola repair shop, La Fenice, university buildings, etc. His ability to connect Venetian history to relevance of the US electoral system or how the Italian Masters still influence contemporary art made the back road walk enjoyable and educational.
We wanted a brief overview of the major sites in Venice. Sara met us at our hotel and delivered a lovely informative introduction to the city. She also showed us how to comfortably navigate the city on our own. Thank you Sara!
We were running late, so our tour guide Giada was kind enough to modify the tour to something closer to our hotel. It was the first time to Venice for many of my family, so her modifications were perfect, as they filled in some of the history. This was a wonderful experience and Giada was great.
This is long overdue! We had a wonderful private tour for our family of four. Out guide was super knowledge and told us wonderful historical and architectural stories that we would never have seen or known otherwise. Brava!!
My husband had a medical issue about 15 minutes before the excursion. I found a comfortable space for him and met up with our guide, Roberto. I explained that we would need to cancel and he gave me two tickets for the nearest water taxi and walked me to the stop so I could get him back to the hotel as quickly as possible. I very much appreciate his efforts.
We spent a wonderful Sunday morning strolling around Dorsoduro with Marzia. She met us off the boat, bought us coffee and then we walked around in the peace and quiet learning about the area and Venice itself. There were some history lessons, cautionary tales, insights about Venice today and lots of smiles. Marzia was charming and if I lived in Venice, we’d go for walks all the time - so you should definitely go for a walk with Marzia too if you have the opportunity!
Claudia took us on a walking tour of the Dorsoduro area of Venice. She was lovely from the start and very knowledgeable. It was great to talk about Venice with a local guide who became more of a friend as the tour went on. We have visited Venice many times but we saw new things and learnt a lot from Claudia. We ended the tour on a roof terrace close to the Rialto Bridge. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Thank you Claudia
Claudia did a great job for us. The tour she prepared was very diverse, walking, great churches, a ride across the lagoon to Giudecca. The two and a half hours went by very quickly. We highly recommend Claudia as a fun, knowledgeable and personable guide.
Elena was the perfect guide; when are ferry got delayed, she immediatley offered to meet us at a different starting place, and was there before we got off the ferry. She was engaging and full of stories of the history of Venice. She was engaging from start to finish. We truly enjoyed our time with her and would highly recommend her to anyone visiting Venice.
Claudia was fun, flexible and super knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her. Her energy is contagious!
My wife and I booked a private tour of Dorsoduro with Giada and it was a highlight of our trip! We asked Giada to take us to a few specific places, and she was very accommodating. She also was extremely knowledgeable of Venice and the entire area. We learned so much and truly loved the time with Giada. As a bonus, Giada is very knowledgeable of food and wine and gave us some excellent recommendations which we happily took advantage of. I would highly recommend this tour, or any tour, with Giada.
Valentina was an amazing host. She was like a walking encyclopedia (wiki for you young folks) but her facts were not dry. She was relevant and informative with a sensitivity to our family and how much we wanted. Her pace was amazing. We covered so much ground, saw everything we wanted, and yet never felt rushed. This was our first With Locals tour. Because of Valentina I will do one again!
Genny is a great and enthusiastic guide. She is friendly, has a lot of knowledge about everything and can tell a lot about all things that passed. You can see she has fun in her job. We loved doing the tour with her.
Our tour off the beaten track with Roberto was outstanding. Has a born and raised Venetian, he was extremely knowledgeable and took us to interesting and uncrowded places and answered all our questions in a friendly and informative manner. Would highly recommend!
Roberto grew up in Venice. It was fantastic hearing the history from a local. He is kind, funny and charismatic and respectful of his city’s history.
Federico was our guide - he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, perfect English, and enjoyable to talk to. It was nice that he “tuned in” to us in terms of what we like/dislike, etc. Was on time, and he gave us a little more than the scheduled 2 hours, which we really appreciated. He gave us restaurant recommendations, and museum recommendations too. He was great!
Federico was very friendly and took his time to answer all questions. The tour was interesting and we really enjoyed our time .
Marzia is an excellent guide and travelling companion, full of passion for the history and the people of Venice. She is open to all your questions and gives you a personal and powerful portrait of her city and its culture. Highly recommended
My husband and I were thrilled with our tour of Dorsoduro with our guide Marzia. To truly enjoy a city with so much history it helps to have insight into its past, Marzia has this in spades! Marzia’s knowledge of the city, her passion for her topic and her delightful personality really made our introduction to Venice a perfect way to kick off our trip. Wish every city had a Marzia!
We had a thoroughly wonderful time learning about Venice with our guide Elena. She was a wealth of knowledge - historical, cultural and humorous. Our walking tour was pleasant and comfortable, even though we covered a lot of ground. We would absolutely recommend our guided walking tour with Elena.
Our Tour guide Elena was amazing. She has a passion for Venice and a deep knowledge of its history. We loved wandering the back areas with her and feeling like we gained a true understanding of this beautiful city.
Great to learn more about the neighbourhood and Venice generally. Answer all our question and loved the recommendations. Great pace and even though we had a rainstorm with thunder and lightening in the middle we managed to stay mostly dry and enjoyed the coffee and pastries 😃
Enjoyable walk through the less crowded neighborhoods of Venice. Our guide shared some interesting stories and information.
Marzia was unbelievably brilliant. Although we arrived in Venice during peak season, my wife and I decided we would like to have a tour of one of the quieter areas before we attacked the extremely busy main attractions. As our hotel was on her route to the meeting point, Marzia very kindly picked us up from our hotel, which was so amazing. Our first sojourn into Venice was with an experience Venetian. She shared with us both her knowledge and friendly personality, her guided tour through Dorsoduro District was leisurely, informative and thoroughly enjoyable. Marzia was our wonderful guide and made our first experience of Venice truly magical. Thank you, Marzia.
This was the second tour of the day with Lucia. She has so much knowledge and was wonderful to hear many interesting stories about some of the women who were important in Venice's history. She also took us to different off the beaten track places that otherwise we would never have seen. I loved that we ended at a woman led mask making store. If you have a chance book this tour with Lucia.
We had a great time with Emanuele visiting Venice , Murano and Burano. It was an awesome experience. Not only did he take us to great locations but he also showed us local stores and shared inside knowledge of his hometown. Highly recommended.
Emanuele was maybe the best tour guide we had during a week long trip where we had several guides in multiple cities. He was informative, entertaining, and he personalized the tour to us. We also had an unfortunate medical incident with one traveler and he made sure everything was taken care of. I’d definitely recommend Emanuele.
Genny was a wonderful tour guide. She gave us great recommendations and insights about the area. I would highly recommend taking a tour with her.
Frederico was fabulous! So personable and knowledgeable! He navigated us through the rain and knew great places to get under cover!
Loris was great, very accommodating for our tour and went above and beyond. Highly recommend this tour to couples visiting Venice.
We chose to take this tour by boat and it was fantastic! Niccolò was friendly and knowledgeable about all things Venice. He took us to some “off the beaten track” places. The whole tour was a feast for the eyes! Highly recommend.
We were lucky enough to have Marzia for our off the beaten track walk of the Durosduro area of Venice. We started off as strangers but very quickly became friends due to Marzia’s warm and engaging personality. It was raining when we met and she offered to take us for a coffee (which we declined but it was a lovely thing to suggest) and got underway. The tour took us to places we would not have found or seen on our own. Marzia has a palpable passion for her city, and its history and culture, and we felt very fortunate to hear stories personal and historical as we walked. The pace was perfect, the information interesting and the whole experience a delight! We left with a wealth of information and a list of restaurants and cafes too. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Marzia for any tour, thank you so much for showing us your city.
We had a brilliant time with our guide Giada, she was very knowledgeable and really good fun too. We saw beautiful churches and amazing artwork as well as some of the hidden piazza's and streets of Venice not on the usual tourist tracks. We learned so much about Venice too. Thanks Giada, it was just like taking a stroll with a good friend.
Claudia was so kind and shared fascinating information with us, specifically tailored to our group. We really enjoyed learning more about the more residential, non-tourist side of Venice and plan to return to the city. What a beautiful, historical, and lovely city to visit!
Our tour with Romy was fantastic. We learned so much about Venice and its history in such a short time. I highly recommend a tour with Romy!
Giada was excellent. From the flexibility in our tour time when some of our travel arrangements got changed, to the completely personalized tour based on what we were looking for, she met and exceeded all expectations. She was very informative, very easy to talk to and made us feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend using her.
Valentina gave us an awesome tour of Venice on a rainy, crowded day. She took us off the beaten path to give us a sense of Venetian life while ensuring we saw the ‘tourist highlights’. She recommended a place for lunch and kindly called the restaurant to ensure it could accommodate my gluten intolerance!
My daughter and I had a great tour with Marzia. She took us to areas of Venice where there were few other tourists, which we appreciated. She had great stories and a great store of knowledge about Venice. I would highly recommend her!
Niccolò contacted me after I booked the tour and asked if we would like to do the walking tour or if we would like him to drive us around and see Venice on his boat. We are definitely glad we made the choice to go on the water – it is the only way to see all of Venice and understand where everything is in an abbreviated amount of time. Unfortunately, for us, it was a cold, windy, rainy day. The weather was not terrible, but that didn’t stop Niccolò. He took us everywhere. You could want to go in Venice, pointed out the major highlights. He wasn’t as talkative as some of the other guides, we have had through Withlocals, but anytime we asked a question. He certainly knew the answers. I think the weather really put a damper on everything. We ended our tour early by our request because we were soaked and freezing, and we skipped the local treat for the same reason, but we don’t feel like we missed out on anything. The only recommendation I can make to Niccolò is to get a cushion for the seat on the boat for the guests. It was a great tour and we recommend it highly.
Adair was great. I have been to Venice a few times, so it was nice to see a part I have not been to before. Adair shared a lot of history and interesting stories on this quieter side of Venice. She showed me places and things I would never have found without her.
Wonderful, personalized tour through magical backroads and one of the few parks of Venice, and other areas that you may otherwise never see. Ask passionate and kind Tommaso what you would like to see and he will make it happen for you! A great addition to your general highlights tours.
Our entire group were enthralled with Lucia’’s Venice biennale Collateral art venue tour! She set the stage with some important historical facts and encouraged us to see the Accademia artworks to provide a basis for the contemporary art we were about to see. We were taken to off the track places providing a range of different Biennale artworks and also venues that were special in their own right. Favourites were the art school installation and the Nigerian Pavilion. Lucia gave us some tips of venues to see beyond the tour. Lucia gave a tour from an authentically Venetian perspective and her love for the city shone through. We could not recommend her more highly!
I had a fantastic tour with Federica. She was very knowledgable and had lots of stories about Venice. I really enjoied this tour.
We had a very interesting tour with Adair. She told us a lot about the history, the todays life and traditions in Venice. We visited a nice OSTERIA and talked about all the wonderful places in Venice, Murano, Burano and a few moore hidden places. Good Restaurants etc. Loved it. We are coming back.
Valentina provided us with a top-class experience in our personalised tour of the area of Venice in which we stayed. She took the time to discover our interests and tailored the tour accordingly. It was more like a stroll around the area with a very knowledgeable friend than a guided tour. It was an afternoon really well spent and set us up nicely for the remainder of our stay. Valentina is warm and friendly. After we finished, Valentina sent us some recommendations for places to eat in Venice and Treviso (which were visiting a few days later) as well as tips for getting around both cities. A really worthwhile experience with a wonderful, friendly and informative guide.
Giada was, friendly, professional and passionate. She guided us through part of Venice we had not seen before. Her explanations were concise, thorough and clear. This was by far the best guide we ever met in Venice, a real treasure.
We followed the route based on the places we wanted to see, but we would have never seen the charming and beautiful Venice side that we saw with Loris. We managed to escape to the areas where we met fewer tourists and it was not crowded. It was beautiful and peaceful. We regret that we did not have the tour the first day we arrived, because we got so many recommendations and too little time to use them. Thank you, Loris, for the tour and interesting stories about this beautiful city. And also, we appreciate that you were so flexible and changed the route on the spot according to our request.
Experiencing Dorsoduro with Claudia was a unique experience. It was just the right mix of interesting facts, personal insights and hidden secrets that couldn't be found any other way. I really enjoyed exploring this beautiful part of the city with her and I can't think of anything I wished were different about this tour. With her friendly and warm manner, Claudia left an unforgettable impression. She then also provided a list of recommendations for other attractions and restaurants. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to have an unforgettable experience in Venice.
