The guides were great! I felt like the tour it’s self at the murano glass facility was very short. I think the demonstration could have been longer.
What a great tour , we sat with one of the company executives to see a demo and explanation of glass blowing
This is a great tour - pace is good - not rushed and our tour guide Eliza was the BEST!! So knowledgeable but also really relatable!! My 20 something kids loved her!!
We were driven by boat to the back of a glass making factory, 4 minutes looking at some blowing which was interesting then left in the showroom where items have no price, lots of obsequious sales people obviously waiting for someone with £10k to buy a chandelier. There was no walking tour, no tour guide and no return journey back to Venice - all of which are “included”. The tour operator help line was an AI called Marco Polo who was apologetically incapable of doing much but very “concerned” at our predicament. Thank you Marco. Eventually we rang the operator who advised us to return to the factory where we were unceremoniously, given we were clearly not the aforementioned chandelier buyer, returned by boat to the mainland. We are grateful it was sorted and it was nice to have a speedboat trip but this is a “not as described” product and it would have been nice to have a genuine visit of Murano’s fascinating history.
Lovely ride to Murano on a beautiful wooden taxi. The studio tour was interesting and that guide was very attentive and pleasant. Upstairs guide not so much. Shopping on the street was a blast. Go fast because you only end up with 1.5 hours. Not really a three hour trip.
Claudia is a brilliant tour guide, funny, knowledgeable and warm. The tour itself is about 5 hours long, 45 minutes in Murano and 2 hours in Burano. The rest of the time is spent travelling by boat between the islands and Venice itself during which the tour guide tells you all about the history of the islands and interesting facts about the landmarks you pass on the way. The glass blowing demonstration is only 15 minutes long but is worth it to see how skilled the master glass blowers are. In Burano its nice to wonder around, try the artisanal baked goods and eat lunch. As a solo traveller its a good tour to do as everything is organised for you with some free time included. Only downside is I found it difficult to hear the tour guide through the earpiece you are given but if you sit near the tour guide on the boat this is not an issue. Would recommend!
Claudia was very friendly knowledgeable and informative. Demo was impressive and Burano beautiful. We loved our trip Laura & Roger
It was good, wish we had more time to watch the glass being made as it was only around 10mins. Would still recommend
The taxi ride was nice but impersonal. The best 15 minutes was watching the Mistro glass blower at work. No guide was included for a walking tour so this did not match the description! Only had time to wander one street. There would be better tours.
Misleading and disappointing. Visited on 26th December. After arriving, we were told their own furnace was not operating and were taken to another furnace at a distant location. Only then were we informed that no master glassmaker was working due to Christmas — this was never disclosed before booking. The “demonstration” lasted about 5 minutes and had no real value. The rest was just an attempt to sell extremely overpriced glass items. We paid €80 for what was essentially a shop visit. Complete waste of time and money. Avoid.
The trip was lovely regardless bad weather..plenty to see and explore. Highly recommend! The guide was amazing and history of the islands are amazing...
I recommend highly they give a very good description of the areas and their history with very friendly helpful staff you feel so safe the whole time and its very educational they also allow you alot of free time to explore the beautiful places we saw glass making which was amazing and lace makers aswel which was another beautiful experience it was so interesting and just a amazing choice im so glad i went myself and everyone i went with loved it so much and would 1000% do this experience again the boat journey is amazing aswel
Had an incredible time, educational and exceptionally beautiful. Guide also spoke good English. Both Islands are stunning Burrano especially would definitely recommend!
This was the 2nd tour we took with Venice Tours. The first one was so great we had to got for another. They are very economical and the guides are super friendly and so knowledgeable. I highly recommend.
Lovely way to spend a day in Venice with a very knowledgeable guide. Highly recommend. The demonstration are a little short but that s down to the venues not the tour operator.
Thank you, Nicola, for the charming insights to Venice! The tour with you was perfect! And we also loved the gondola ride. Grazie mille!
This was my first time in Venice. The trip organizers were very thorough very attentive and very friendly, as we walked from towards the pier our guide was giving us a lot of information about the history of Venice and the island that we were about to visit and also gave us a lot of very interesting information as we passed through the islands. The boat was very comfortable and many seats were available either inside where it’s warm or up the roof. As we visited Murano the Glass demo was amazing. And in Burano we had a chance to see the locals lace industry. I had a lot of free time to walk around and explore and shop. The experience is an unforgettable one.
Fun experience. Nice balance between activities and free time. Nice boat ride as well. Burano was also a very lovely island.
It was great fun. Our tour guide is very well informed l, friendly and patient. We went for Murano, Burano and Torcello. It was very interesting to see glass and lace making. There were really good and fair priced bakery. Biscuit tasting was great too. Overall, it was a very nice experience.
Claudia delivered a tour that was both informative and entertaining a good mix of facts and humour. The day was well spread out with boat trip to Murano with live demonstration of glass blowing and a second longer stop at Burano known for its lace & beautiful multicoloured buildings. We were given a live lace demonstration followed by a visit to a traditional biscuit store with samples and free time for a lunch stop before boarding the boat back to Venice. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Our guide was enthusiastic on a wet day. The immersive experience of Venice was great. The gondola ride was lovely despite the miserable weather.
Really informative and engaging! David made the trip all the more fun with his commentary - very amusing delivery and kept us engaged! Fabulous visit to the islands and we were lucky to have lunch in the sun and a bit of shopping. Also great hot chocolate on Burano! Thanks!
The trip is a MUST if you are in Venice. Murano is not that interesting, only if you wish to buy glass and they don't allow you a long time (in my opinion that's better not to waste your time). Burano is just amazing, a cute little village with colorful houses and tasty bakeries and restaurants. Our guide was kind but he did not give us much information. So we decided to change the group and go with David, as he was talking the hole time giving us useful information. Great experience, totally worth it.
Very well structured tour of Murano and Burano. Just the right amount of time watching glass blowing and lace making. Great tour guide and nice size tour group. All the departures and arrivals were on time.
An interesting and informative day trip out watching the skilled craftsmen blowing the Murano glass and also visiting the beautiful island of Burano to see the lace making, taste the cookies and visit the local restaurants. We had a fantastic tour guide who made the boat journey fun and interesting. Very cold in November- I recommend a hat!
Best part of the tour is our guide David Philips. Excellent story teller and full of knowledge. He made tour so interesting. Recommended!
Fantastic day out. The glass blowing was incredible. Definitely recommend this tour! Our tour guide gave us lots of Venetian facts throughout the boat rides which were very interesting.
Our tour guide was very friendly and nice. We enjoyed her very much and would recommend her again. She was very knowledgeable too
We loved Burano, the island was very beautiful! Would do this tour again. Carmella was very good!we love to have her as tour guide in the future.
Informative and helpful. Friendly and approachable as well. Her English was 10/10 and easy to understand. Impressed by the lack of an Italian accent which can make it difficult to understand.
The radios they used for the tour was terrible and very distorted. We stopped using them about 5 minutes in. It was still worth it for the boat trip and the glass demonstration but the lace museum was just a shop with a little explanation and a lot of sales pitching. The places they take you will be the most expensive places to buy everything. I’d highly recommend you look around all the shops before buying.
It was worth the price and the experience was amazing, god for friends, couples and family. Visited 3 beautiful islands Murano, Burano and Tolerro. The tour lasted for 6 hours.
Nice trip on the boat, interesting guide and wonderful views The islands are wonderful, mainly Burano, spend time on it to enjoy the colors
Thank you to our lovely tour guide Camilla, very informative. enjoyable trip to Murano glass factory and pretty Burano, well worth a visit
Amazing and funny guide. Do not meet at the Venice Tours office, they will tell you to keep at 'Venice San Marco Pier', or arrive early and be prepared to be redirected. Don't expect much time in Murano, not much to see or do, only a quick stop for the glass-making show. Burano is much bigger (albeit still small) and more to see with more free time.
This was a wonderful trip, very informative and the time spent in each place was just right. Both Murano and Burano are beautiful islands and definitely worth the visit, especially with this tour! David, our guide, was excellent and his storytelling about the history of Venice and the islands was very well done. We couldn't have asked for a better guide as he was very helpful.
Hahaha David was hilariously funny and very informative. It made for a great experience. His style keeps you interested for the full journey
David was great! He made the tour very interesting. His narrative in story form was very interesting and engaging. He had a great sense of humor too.
Amazing guide! Wonderful stories and just about right time of going around. I didn’t feel rushed! Good pace of the whole tour!
Our guide Camilla was very nice and well prepared, she is a pleasant person and she can give you important info's about local places. She is a really good guide. I recommend her for your tours.
A little adventure in the boat to two islands. Amazing glass artist showed how to make a pitcher and a horse in less than 5 minutes. Barana is a lovely little town
Great experience for a day outside Venice in murano and burano with glas demonstration and try typical cookie of burano with a lot of shops and restaurants
The guide gave us sufficient information but also allowed us to enjoy the tour, sights & experiences. Very welcoming. :-) We also visited Torcello & whilst there is not much there, you do need to be quick to get to the square & back.
We had a very good time. Everything went well, the guide was friendly! There were no issues at pickup/drop offs. We had a glass blowing demonstration in Murano, and a lace demonstration in Burano. There was also enough time in Burano to stroll around and eat delicious Bussoli.
I loved our guide Davide! The way he told stories about history was amazing. He made everything so interesting and easy to understand. You can really feel his passion for what he does. I learned a lot and had a great time!
Great experience, friendly staff, I would really recommend it if you want to spend a nice trip to Murano and Burano islands!
Fantastic tour of the beautiful islands & wonderful tour guide, very informative & happy to help with any questions at all. Was fantastic to see the handmade lace lace, glass factory & so much more! Would highly recommend! We loved it!
Great tour, loved the commentary’s the glass blowing blew my mind it is literally a work of art. The lace making as well, who would’ve known it was so intricate that it takes up to 10 days to complete a pattern. Burano was colorful and beautiful with great food. Claudia was amazing. She had great energy and spirit. She was full of knowledge about Venezia that she shared with us and I greatly enjoyed the history lesson. Her jokes were funny too. She stumped me with one, but I got it after the fact 😂. Thank you for a great day. Sincerely, A and R Atwater
