If you have an affinity for glassware, glass art or for other items made from glass, the Murano Glass Factory is a must see. The beautiful pieces displayed in the show room are gorgeous. You’ll be in awe of what they do with glass,
We enjoyed seeing the glass blowing process and creativity, talent of the artists. It takes 10 years to train for artist positions. No photos in gallery.
Very nice experience. The wives were very excited. We saw large groups go in for the glass blower, ours was only 9 this more personal. Meet our contact in front of hotel so all you need is voucher. Boat ride over just fine. After the demo we walked through the show rooms. Lots of boxes ready to ship back to US along hallways. We settled for the nick back section of showroom. Still left with many memories. Boat drops you of on other side of Venice but it was a nice walk back to st Marks. Hint: you may want to do the two island tour which includes Murano and Burano - glass and linen.
Interesting tour. Informative .Little difficult finding contact at jumping off point, but everything worked out.
Salvatore was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the process. Fascinating to watch and learn about the artisans. A must do, especially the private tour!
Great communication and attention from our tour director, Alexandre upon arrival and throughout our tour. Really enjoyed boat ride to our Murano glass tour - bonus having beautiful wooden boat taxi to ourselves and having private tour of glass factory. Very informative tour and some beautiful art pieces to view. Highly recommend.
Luciano and Manny were outstanding explaining and showing us the Glass blowing experience. The boat ride to and from was wonderful and it was a very fantastic experience.
Excellent tour after a rocky start. Venice is a tricky place to get around. Had a little trouble getting off at the correct. Water Ferry stop. HOWEVER, Karoline was PHENOMENAL helping us get back on track. She went above and beyond. The tour was AWESOME! Emanuelle was so informative and enjoyable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour!!!
The guide to meet us never showed up at meeting point. I called twice and was told he was coming. He never did. We did catch a water taxi to factory and the tour lasted less than 30 minutes. It was suppose to be 1.5 hours. Very little info was given during the tour. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a tour.
It is a very quick demonstration, but the artist is just amazing. Then you go look at all the work, but they expect you to purchase. Felt like a car dealership.
We had a fabulous experience. Very interesting and our guide was wonderful. We had a personalized tour being the only 3 on the tour. The private taxi was fun too! Beware!! When your 1.5 hr tour ends, if you don’t get back on the taxi, you need to pay your own way back. We opted to tour the island instead but weren’t told we lost our ride back.
We booked the VIP tour which included a boat ride to the island and back again with a 15min demonstration and then to the show room . Everything was beautiful but so very expensive and you felt a bit of pressure to buy . We also were supposed to get Prosecco as part of our vIp ticket but didn't receive anything . I contacted the tour operator and they said we were offered it but declined which is untrue. Overall not good value don't waste your time going .
Great shorter tour giving you what you need to know about the process of glass blowing and getting to see their showroom of magnificent pieces! Worth the time and price!
We chose the VIP option and really loved it! We had the boat to ourselves both ways, which was such a nice way to see the lagoon. The glass factory was huge and beautiful — it felt like there were at least 50 different rooms to explore! I’m a big turtle lover and spotted the most amazing glass turtle. Definitely one of my favorite pieces.
Filippo was amazing! Super friendly and always happy to answer our questions. We spent about an hour exploring the glass factory and he explained the history of Murano glass and all the different techniques along the way. We learned so much and had a really great time. Thank you Filippo!!
The Murano tour was excellent and we definitely recommend it, but what really stood out was Voir Venise. They were incredibly helpful and even managed to get us tickets for St. Mark’s Basilica for the next day. Such lovely and knowledgeable people. Great experience from start to finish. We would absolutely use this agency again!
The director Alexandre was incredible!!! We got delayed and ended up late for our tour, he made it all happen anyways. He is a huge asset for that company!
Really nice experience! We were with two other couples, all English speakers, and the group was great. Everything was well organized and we really enjoyed seeing the glassmaking up close. Totally recommend it if you’re interested in Murano glass.
We chose the VIP option and absolutely loved it. Our guide at the glass factory was incredibly friendly and took the time to show us around. The art gallery was much bigger than we expected. We must have seen at least 100 different pieces! A really beautiful experience in Murano.
This was a great quick activity to go see the glass blowing process and shop for items. Our guide at the island gave us private space away from other large tour groups with an up close view and a great explanation to process of glass blowing. We saw 2 items made , then had an opportunity to shop and head back to Venice on our private boat , there were 2 other couples in our group, we had a nice time chatting during the tour.
Would definitely recommend, everybody was super friendly, the whole process was easy and it was beautiful to see!
I booked a group tour but nobody else had for the same time so they took our family on a private tour. The guide was so informative and friendly, even offering water etc because it was such a hot day. I could’ve spent hours watching , it was fascinating. I booked a shorter tour of 2 hours because we had 2 teenagers with us but even they enjoyed it.
Our guide met us at the water taxi station and sent us on our way m. Our water taxi driver was great he told us about morano island. Upon arriving anothrr guide met us which led us into a glass blowing demonstration which we got to see three artists make things- one made a horse and a flower cup, another made beads for jewelry and another made a cat which was really amazing to watch. Then we went into the art collections to have a look it was amazing! My husband even bought me a beautiful horse which will be shipped to our home!
Very peaceful ride. We were able to relax and learn about the history of Venice. Pick up area was Very easy to fine.
Glass is so expensive! It’s a 15 minute very interesting demonstration of the glass making, then it’s all about looking at pieces that are ridicously priced!
Great visit. We met our group easily and took a water taxi to Murano, which was lovely in itself. The glass-blowing was awesome and the kids were enthralled
The highlight of the visit for us was definitely the art gallery. We had no idea glass could be transformed into so many different shapes, styles, and works of art. It was fascinating to see all the different techniques and craftsmanship on display. We spent much longer there than we expected and absolutely loved it.
We were looking for a genuine glass factory to visit in Murano, and this was exactly what we had hoped for. Watching the craftsmen shape the glowing glass right in front of us was something we will remember for a long time. We also took home a small handmade vase that now reminds us of our trip every time we see it. A truly lovely experience, and one we would gladly recommend to anyone visiting Murano.
An exceptional experience from beginning to end. The private water taxi made the arrival feel truly special, and the glassblowing demonstration was both elegant and fascinating. We found a stunning handcrafted piece to bring home, and the entire visit felt authentic, relaxed, and beautifully organized.
We did this tour as a couple and honestly had such a great time! The water taxi ride was so much fun, the glassblowing demo was really cool, and we even found the most amazing glass turtle to take home. Such a fun experience from start to finish.
The glass factory was absolutely huge! There were hundreds of beautiful pieces to discover, and the glassblowing demonstration was fascinating. Everything was really well organized, and the whole experience felt authentic. I’d definitely recommend it 100%!
Basically somebody meets you and hands you over to a water taxi to a glass factory. They show you around then take you to the shop. A bit awkward if you’re in a small group and not buying anything.
We loved the boat ride to and from Venice to Mutano. The glass blowers are amazing. True artisans carrying on a unique art form. It's hard to imagine how the items in the shop/museum are hand crafted. Beautiful!
He had a great board ride over to Marano. The glass factory was very interesting but very warm. Beautiful pieces of artwork there.
Fantastic from start to finish. Private water taxi and English speaking tour guide. The tour guide was unbelievable in knowledge and experience, I would truly recommend this fascinating experience.
Amazing factory, meeting and drop off not so good We were asked to meet 10-15 minutes before departure, the guide arrived at the start time even though it was 35 degrees and no shade anywhere. The factory was amazing, staff there helpful and informative. Our return boat trip dropped us on the opposite side of the island and we were left with a 30 minute walk, again in 35 degree temperatures. This was on the back of the original guide advising we would be dropped back to start point. The walk back was even more difficult for the pregnant couple on the tour with us. All in all, factory worth while, but the coordination needs to be better. We called the tour operator and he said, ‘you will have to walk back’ - not good enough
This was an amazing experience to watch an art that has been around for 100’s of years that takes so much skill and talent! In this private excursion we were able to watch up close and personal and hear the background history of the family business. After the demonstration we could walk around the factory with a guide as he explained the different kinds of art they have on display/and for sale! Would highly recommend!
I've always loved this art form and was mesmerized by watching the artists in action. I also came home with a much lighter wallet after purchasing a beautiful piece. However, there is no pressure to buy and they have lovely items in their souvenir section. Plus, the ride to and from from Venice was great.
Girl from the tour service was no where to be found. Our “tour” was already supposed to leave so we were panicking. We finally found her with know way of knowing except trial & error. Al she did was take us to a water taxi and leave us and another family not sure what was going on. The glass blowing place was great but we probably could have done without the tour service
I was very excited about going to Murano and doing this tour. Unfortunately I was disappointed. We were met on the dock by our tour person who seemed very focused on moving us very quickly through the tour in order to get us to the “showroom” the store to possibly purchase some items. We were in the glass blowing area/demonstration for somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes (we witnessed 1 glass being made). We were then moved along to the showroom. I feel that more focus could be put on explaining the glass blowing process to get to the finished product. As you will see if you do this tour there are many beautiful and intricate finished pieces in the showroom. I would have like to learn more about how colour is included in creating the products and seeing more demonstrations. After “shopping” in the showroom our group of 12 was gathered up and then put on a boat to return to what we thought was going to be the original pick up point. Instead we were to taken to some unknown drop off point. This was very concerning to all of the tour participants. The driver then returned the entire group back to Murano. The representatives at the factory were very limited in assisting the group in getting back to the original pick up point. A call was also placed to the Trip organizer that we met at the pick up point—she indicated there was no choice because the size of the boat could not go through the canals to get us back to the original pick up point. The boat at the pick up point was a smaller boat that took us through the canals and on to Murano. In the end the factory rep arranged for a smaller boat to pick up the group and did in the end return all of us the original pick up point. The experience was very frustrating (especially because it stated in the booking that you would be picked up and dropped off at the same location—if that is not the case it should be reflected in the add). This was a very frustrating experience both from a transportation perspective as well as the tour itself. Not really sure I would recommend this tour.
We were a party of 3 people and the tour only lasted 2 hours not 3 hrs. We got to watch the glass blowing for 10-15mins then we were rushed off to the showroom for the hard sell to buy very expensive Murano glass. The return water taxi did not take us all the way back to where we got on but instead the other side of the island (shortest distance from Murano island) where we had to make our own way. The tour was delayed starting for 1/2 hr because the tour guide changed the meeting point at the last minute & the 3rd guest did not receive the msg. Not impressed and I would not recommend!
The private tour was wonderful. Julius at New Murano Gallery was excellent, informative, and personable.
The tour was 90 euro and included a boat ride, some time watching the glass blowers and a tour in the shop. This seemed like a good value compared to a short 90 euro gondola ride. It was slated for 1-1.5 hours but was closer to 2 because our water taxi didn’t return on time.
Easy enough experience. Just meet at designated place and be lead to a water taxi. A guide will greet you on arrival and take you in to view. They are happy to answer questions. Just be aware more than half your time on this tour will be designated to looking at their large display shop, with guide turned salesman following you around suggesting items you may like to purchase.
We went because it is the done thing but in reality it wasn’t worth it as everything was so very expensive… plus when we was taken back by boat we was dropped off in a totally different location from where we was collected from
Wow, the VIP treatment could have been a bit more. The demonstration was partly shared with a general group. I'm trying to listen to the host, other people were talking and stepping in front of me. I did enjoy the artist master who created the stallion. I did find a few small pieces.
So much fun. The tour operator and the glass factory guides were so kind, informative and friendly. Interesting and beautiful!
I felt it was very enlightening. It's an art form that is underappreciated. I felt special by the guide.
Great trip to Murano to tour the glass blowing factory. You are able to see a demonstration and then walk around and shop in the store. The boat ride was also very nice.
