We learnt a lot about the history of Venice and its lagoon in a very memorable way, thanks to our guide David. He obviously loves telling stories. The whole trip was great apart from the time we spent on the optional drink and snack on Burano. Don't choose it if you're tempted as there are loads of cafés.

The cruise was a bit slow, and the information about history was a bit light. Our guide, Beatrice was charming. However, the experience at the glassworks was very brief. The price of the glass works was so expensive that we didn't buy anything... even though they claimed we could get a fifty percent discount. I didn't say anybody else buying anything either. We went to a straight side cafe for lunch and owed. Some fish and rice, which was extremely salty. A bottle of water was very expensive, too. However the houses were colourful.
Ok tour and nice boat ride. There is really no reason to take this tour since you really don't see anything and it's just a sales tour especially in Burano.
We had a wonderful experience visiting Murano and Burano. The tour was well organized, the guides were friendly and informative, and both islands were absolutely beautiful. Watching the glassblowing demonstration in Murano was fascinating, and Burano’s colorful streets were even more charming than we expected. A great way to spend the day—we highly recommend it!
Marina was a fantastic guide! She was very knowledgeable and well spoken. We really enjoyed the Glass blowing experience!
Perfect amount of time to enjoy these 2 islands! The ride to and from the islands was smooth and our guide was easy to understand and knowledgeable. The glass blowing demonstration was awesome! The gentleman in the glass shop were very helpful. I can't wait for the arrival of my new vase in a few weeks! I highly recommend this excursion!
valentina was very informative and fun. great boat ride, educational and wonderful shopping. she. was fun and flexible
Murano is lovely. The glass blowing demonstration is amazing! Burano is beautiful! Beautiful colors and the streets are not crowded. The food experience was delightful....like Italian sushi. Our guide explained many sights along the route. We were a bit delayed departing because of a rowing race. However we got to see the racers and some of the traditional boats as a result. An exceptional reason for a delay. Our best experience visiting Venice.
This was a wonderful day trip experience of Murano, Burano and Torcello. The trip started around 1230 and finished around 1700. You spend about 45 minutes at each location. Overall it's a really good package as you are navigated to each location before return to base with an audio guide host who narrates in 3 languages, English Italian and Spanish. Identification of the various monasteries, island areas and key information was invaluable. Murano is the first stop where you will be in awe of a live glass making demonstration. The master glass making artist will leave you stunned by creating a beautiful masterpiece in front of you within 10 minutes. This is followed by a visit to the beautiful shop of colourful glass collectables, trinkets and jewellery. The precious gifts are irresistable and one of a kind. Try and capture a momento of this authentic work of brilliance. The next stop was Torcello where you can visit the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta. There are also 2 small museums that require an admission fee. Unfortunately we ran out of time but if you can spend longer on the island this is a good opportunity. There are some nice cafe/bar/restaurants if you need refreshments. Burano was the final stop. Basically a town of very colourful buildings. Very pretty and a very good opportunity to take a lot of pictures. Another Venetian tradition is lace making and Burano is where you can buy some imitations. Much of this is done by machine now but you can learn about the history in the lace making museum. For this trip there was no time to do this. If you are visiting Venice for the first time you can get caught up in the city and the tourist hot spots. I think this Murano, Burano, Torcello visit should be a top priority of your visit to appreciate the region in more detail.
Our tour guide was excellent and made the boat rides very enjoyable! Glass blowing demonstration was very interesting and a perfect amount of time. The Murano glass was really beautiful! Next to Burano which is even prettier in person!! Perfect day to wander the ins and outs of narrow streets with colorful buildings. A much needed quaint and relaxing day. The tour was very organized and I especially liked that there were different guides on our tour speaking is several languages into the headsets they gave us to use. We didn’t have to wait to hear them speak first in French, then in Spanish, then in English. They asked who speaks English and gave us a headset for a guide speaking live in English. It wasn’t pre-recorded which was amazing!!! I highly recommend this tour!!! It was fun for my family of five with 20 year olds.
It is a fun, full-day experience. It was informative, but the headset quality was poor and it was hard to hear the guide.
Our tour guide David was amazing!! Very personable, fun, and the tour was overall educational and a great experience.
Only downside was lots of groups on one boat so it's difficult to hear your own guide sometimes with so many talking but she was lovely. Really enjoyed both stops and well worth doing, I'd recommend
Was a great day out, visiting both islands and experiencing some of the local cuisine as well as the glass works. Well worth going on the itinerary for your visit and CHEAP!!
Great tour, interesting commentary - just right, and lovely guide, Misia.
The tour qas both in Spanish and English ... I wasn't made aware this was the case, I was led to believe it was in English only. This the tour is consumed mostly by boating from island to island, about 2 hours of it. The main reason for selecting the tour was to see the glass blowing demonstrations.. unfortunately it lasted less than 10 minutes. I should've spent 9 euro each way to take the boat over to Murano, most of the glass factories offer free entrance to the demonstrations. I'm not complaining about the tour guide, she was great, I just didn't see the value
The tour was a must for anyone visiting Venice. Gullia was the absolute best English speaking guide. She was very knowledgeable about all things Venice and very helpful during our stay!
Enjoyed talking with the guide, had a good balance of scheduled activity and free time. I liked the ear pieces so you could hear the guide even without being right next to them.
Burano was beautiful and the trip was well timed, we weren’t waiting around for any long time but had plenty of time to explore Burano where there was more to see. Times were well communicated and it was a lovely day
We were three, travelling with our 8-year-old child, and had an absolutely fantastic experience! Annalisa was an outstanding guide — professional, knowledgeable, and full of warmth. She explained everything with great enthusiasm and made the tour truly engaging for both adults and children. Elisa was also incredibly kind and accommodating. Even though we arrived a little late, she welcomed us with a smile and quickly arranged everything so we could join the group without any stress. The visit to the glass-blowing factory in Murano was fascinating, and Burano was simply beautiful — colourful houses, relaxed atmosphere, and perfect for photos. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Venice, especially families. Excellent organisation, friendly staff, and an unforgettable experience!
Nicholas our tour guide was nice but the ‘whispers’ earpiece was difficult to stay on my ear. The water taxi engine to Murano & Burano was so loud that we couldn’t hear him.
My wife and I were disappointed with this tour. Murano and Burano. We took a boat ride to both of these islands. The first stop was clearly a tourist trap. They took us to a little village with nothing in it, except shops and places for you to eat. We got the impression that we were there to help their economy. The glass blowing part of the tour was also disappointing, actual glass blowing lasted about 20 minutes, and then the rest of the time was spent being ushered around to buy the glass. Very disappointed would not recommend
Beautiful day trip to two picturesque islands. Guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out details of the various islands as we cruised by. She made the narrative interesting by interspersing content with historical facts and current happenings. Our boat was comfortable, crew helpful in getting on and off the ship.
Elena was an excellent tour guide that was very knowledgeable and entertaining. She provided great information about the history and traditions of Venice. A great day visiting Burano and Murano!
There really wasn't any tour we just were ferried over to the islands. We had two presentations of how the lace or glass was made then it was a big sales pitch by the owners to buy things. Go no history or background of the island or craft.
Headsets were a mess! Perhaps check them out before leaving the building as we sat waiting in the back room before the tour for a while. Our guide brought extras but half didn't work. The tour was interrupted because headsets were trying to be fixed. My partner's was in Spanish. So was mine. My replacement worked his didn't. He did not have access to audio at all, neither did another. Please check all headsets BEFORE leaving on the tour!
Atena was an amazing tour guide, very funny and personable! The Islands were beautiful but it would have been nice to have longer demonstrations.
Had a very nice time on the tour. the tour guide was excellent, very friendly and very knowledgeable of the area. The scenery on the island is very different from Venice and worth the trip.
It’s informative and worth the trip. Enjoyed it all. Burano was a wonderful surprise. I had only been looking forward to Murano.
Logistics and tour guide were solid. Don’t expect much from the artisan demonstrations and you won’t be disappointed. Quick, simple demos of glass and knot work… impressive… and a free cookie at the bakery.
Very beautiful islands to explore! Boat ride was clean and smooth, plenty of seating and great views along the way. The language gap was a little rough and once we got to Burano was thoroughly confused on what to do, as were others, so many of us split off and ventured on our own. Never got to see the lace factory but walked the island and had a good meal.
Fantastic tour and tour guide! Wonderful day to explore the quant towns of Murano and Burano. What an experience - must book if you have the day to spend on the water.
Our guide, Alice was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The island of Burrano was especially beautiful and picturesque and I am so glad we included this trip whilst we are in Venice for a few days. The boat trip through the lagoon gave us a good insight into how Venice is made up of little islands and the glass blowing demonstrates why Murano glass is important to the area. Brilliant trip lasting 5 hrs
Great tour! We got a good amount of time at both islands and the tour was very informative with reccomendations of where to go and eat also.
Good interesting stories. Relaxed personable manner. Held the anttention of the kids. Burano visit was pleasant. Enjoyed it!
Enjoyed the day, learned a lot about the local history and culture. Nice people and the food was good. Our guide was great.
Great day out, booked with get your guide, real fun day, and reasonable price, we had a great time. Took around 4 hours in all.
Claudia was an amazing guide. Really great trip, it wasn’t crowded on the open—air boat with a group of about 20, which we really appreciated. Murano was great, the glass blowing demonstration was really impressive, but the star of the trip was Burano. So cute, not crowded, lots to see (and eat) there. Claudia had wonderful information to give us one the boat which was really appreciated.
Time allowed for Murano was too short for touring the town and shops. Also, the actual glass blowing demonstration was too short and superficial. Bottom line: take the inexpensive water bus to these islands and tour them yourself at your leisure.
Our guide Claudia was phenomenal! She gave great suggestions for our dinner plans and also she was such a thorough guide. Kept us on time without making it stressful. I would love to go with her again.
The pickup point was in a clear and central location! The tour guide was super nice and helpful. The boat rides were very pleasant. The tour of the glass factory in Murano was so cool! As well as the lace and cookie stores in Burano!
Great fun! Burano was a treat! Loved the glass blowing demonstration and factory. The lace is really spectacular and great shopping!
A fun filled trip with shopping, beautiful boat ride, and food recommended from Francisco. Also the glass blowing demonstration and store is a must see. I have to say Francisco our tour guide was the best.
Great visit to 2 beautiful islands! Was so interesting to see the glass blowing demo on Murano and also learn about lace making in Burano. Our Guide, Claudia, did a great job of preparing us for both as we rode in a private water taxi to each island.
Claudia is very nice, she shared lots of fun facts, we visited wonderful places. I recommend you to visit Murano and Burano with her.
Wondeful trip to Murano glass factory where we could see the making of a glass horse and to the colorful houses of Burano. Thank you Claudia and Michaela for the trip, it was really pleasant!
To be perfectly honest I wouldn’t bother going to the Murano glass blowing experience as it only lasts about ten to fifteen minutes and then they are very keen to get you into the shop. The supposed lace making was a joke as the lady just told you in about a minute how they make it and then of course it was time to shop again. The best part of the tour was Francesco who’s knowledgeable of all the historical facts was amazing. He gave so many facts and I think it would be a good idea if he had his own tour as he was so good.
The guide Francisco was amazing and highly knowledgeable. Excellent disposition and kind young man. Good clear voice and provided explanations of the various sights. Unfortunately, the weather was not great (raining)and viewing the sights from the boat was not clear.
A little abrupt (glassblowing) and not much information was shared. Our guide who took us over was good. But once at the glassblowing, it seemed more designed to generate sales at the gift store. My second time with Viator. You HAVE to do a better job at making the starting address obvious. It takes forever to find it it’s so well hidden.
Ezra was our guide for this tour. He was knowledgeable about glass manufacturing and selling, having worked 7 years in this glass industry and about all the hilites of Murano island. He stayed by our side after leaving a fascinating glass factory to point out interesting sites and history. It was an efficient use of our 1/3 day time in Venice. My wife and I highly recommend.
