Amazing experience! I've always wanted to learn how to make carbonara, and Filippo was awesome to work with. He explained every step and kept things interesting. His story is so cool, and he walked us through how his grandfather built the building we were in to understanding Venician culture from a local. Highly recommend. Absolutely amazing time! *This location is in Venice Mestre, which is mainland Venice. A REALLY quick train ride at 1.90 Euro and one stop gets you within a 7-minute walking distance. :)

Amazing time with Filippo and his sister Marghe! Highly recommend this experience for the food and the company! Filippo was very nice and explained the entire process with ease. Excited to try this recipe at home.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend this cooking class due to its location. When I booked the class, I thought it would be in Venice. However, after checking the exact address the day before, I realized I wouldn’t be able to get there. The operator refused to issue a refund, which was disappointing. I’m sure I’m not the first person this has happened to, and we were really looking forward to the class. I strongly recommend carefully checking the full address before booking. If you’re on the island of Venice and unfamiliar with the area, you may find the location to be inaccurate or difficult to access. It’s unfortunate that the operator refused to refund my money for a class I couldn’t attend.
The cooking experience was very hands on and the owner made sure we could easily replicate the recipe
We waited 30 minutes at the venue and then were notified that it had been cancelled. We travelled 49 minutes via boat and taxi to get to the venue. It was a waste of time and money.
This was a fun experience. The young sibling owners, Margarita and Phillipo had everything ready for us to learn how to make fresh pasta with carbonara sauce. After excellent instructions, we got to eat our dishes, wine included. Would do this again
I spent over 2 hours trying to access this tour based on directions provided by Viator and wasted half a day of my short time in Venice (and spent money on water buses and buses trying to reach the location), despite the fact that it claims to be “the heart of Venice”. The address given on the app, which I clarified with the tour provider ahead of the tour brought me to the middle of a highway with no jazz club in sight. When I tried to clarify the address with the tour provider in advance of the tour, no further specific instructions were provided. Viator has denied a refund and I think this is a scam.
Our host was welcoming and gracious to us. One of a kind venue...jazz club in Venice! The only thing we were bummed about was that the club was closed on the day we were there, so no music 😞. We had a blast learning to make the pasta and the sauce! It tasted amazing and we will definitely be making this at home in the future.
After triple checking the address and the name of the restaurant (Al Vapore), we arrived to find the place padlocked. Not sure if it was miscommunication or just an outright scam. Do not book this.
I did not find the location!!It said that it was in the heart of Venice!! NOT good description of the location. I took a boat, and walked for at least 45 minutes and still could not find the place. I was so very disappointed and lost my money. I really wanted to do the class as well!!
We really enjoyed this experience! Filippo was a great host and teacher. He explained everything very well and in detail. I felt like I learnt enough to try and recreate the meal at home! The carbonara was delicious and we got to try and enjoy some red wine along with it. I would highly recommend this experience.
Wonderful time with Filippo, who taught us not only how to make one of Italy's most iconic dishes, but also taught us about the Jazz club's history and prominence. We got to enjoy our creation at the end: a generous and filling portion of pasta alla carbonara paired well with a local wine (Kret, a Cabernet Franc). Memorable, and worth every cent.
This class was amazing! The person teaching us was really knowledgeable, helpful and made it easy to understand and follow along. We enjoyed a learning from him and he gave us a recipe to take home which we have made several times since! The bar was lovely and interesting and we stayed for drinks after too. Thank you so much for a great experience!!!
So much fun! Small group lesson, cool atmosphere, delicious and Filippo was fabulous! Highly recommend!
Filippo was a fantastic host! He was so knowledgeable, patient and engaging. We had a blast and thanks to his guidance the carbonara turned out amazing!
This was wonderful and would absolutely do it again. We learned so much about making pasta hands on while preparing our pasta carbonara. Filipo was a very knowledgeable chef and shared his tips. While preparing we cooked with Cabernet franc and sipped on a glass. In the background there was a jazz band rehearsing adding to the experience.
