Federica was knowledgeable, engaging, and fun- and even with our little ones in tow, she was super flexible and patient. We all had a blast!

Excellent tour for a family with young children. Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend
Our guide never showed up! We waited and waited with two very excited children to do a fun family tour, and she never showed up, answered her cell, or answered a text! Waste of time. We did get a refund from Viator (how we booked it), but our whole day was planned around this and we were very disappointed.
We travelled as a family of six with our two kids (aged 7 and 4) and grandparents, and this tour with Marco was one of the highlights of our trip to Venice. From the moment we met, it was clear that Marco was extremely passionate about the history and stories behind the beautiful city of Venice, and the way he explained things as we walked completely captivated our children (who were otherwise not looking forward to a two hour walking tour up and down the many bridges of Venice). Marco kept all of us engaged and entertained with his sense of humour, and answered nearly all of our questions with ease. (You can tell you have a good guide when he is excited by questions!) The small tablet he had on hand to show pictures of Venice in the past was also very exciting for the children. As we walked by several giant tour groups using headsets, we were convinced that we made the right choice as this tour gave us a personalised experience where the kids were able to interact with the guide seamlessly. The tour went by so quickly, and Marco set us up with some good recommendations for lunch nearby. Would highly recommend this for anyone travelling with kids and wants a small cozy tour to really understand Venice!
Claudia was wonderful! She was great with the kids. It was a nice leisurely place with plenty of stops for snacks, as well as entertaining stories.
We loved our tour with Elena, it was definitely the highlight of our time in Venice. She did a great job keeping our kids (9 & 5) interested and engaged, and we learned so many little things about Venice we never would have in a larger tour. We spent majority of time in the non-touristy areas and loved every minute of it! Thank you Elena!
Romy was a wonderful tour guide! She answered all our questions and kept the kids engaged! We stopped by a sweets shop and got to sample some chocolates and biscuits and she ended the tour what gelato for the kids!
Adair did an excellent job of sharing the highlights of Venice as well as typical Venetian things during our family tour. She kept both parents and 4 kids (ages 3, 9, 12 & 13) engaged the whole time. Our train was late arriving so she was flexible with us about needing to get something to eat and incorporated two stops for Venetian street food along the way. I highly recommend a family tour of Venice with Adair!
Claudia gave our family a wonderful time showing us her special areas in Venice. She was warm, enthusiastic and fun and her stories about Venetian life now and in past times were fascinating for our teenagers and very interesting for the adults. We saw & discovered things we would never have found on our own. She had fun activities for the girls, which the adults also joined in, we ate cakes & pastries at the best bakery and she gave us many suggestions for visiting & eating for the next few days. Our walk with Claudia was a highlight of our time in Venice.
We are a family of four, including two teens (ages 17 and 13). I chose this tour not because of the games/activities geared toward kids (in fact, I messaged the guide in advance specifically saying we did not want that since my kids are older) but because I wanted a two-hour walking tour of Venice and the others I found were three hours in duration. We were in Venice this past June just as a heat wave hit Italy, and I figured two hours of walking would be plenty. :) Our guide (I believe her name was Claudia) was friendly, engaging, flexible and worked in a couple specific spots we wanted to see. (My son wanted to see a couple locations that were in one of the Spider Man movies.) She also was incredibly knowledgeable and we learned a lot about Venetian history and culture. Highly recommend this tour as a great way for anyone (of any age) to see Venice.
We cannot say enough wonderful things about the incredible tour Elena gave to me and my family. I have two kids (13 and 10) and not once did they ask "what time is it?" or "is it almost over?" I also never once looked at my watch because Elena had us ENTHRALLED. Her knowledge of the city is unmatched and her passion to share her love if Venice kept me hoping the tour would never end. The first thing we did upon returning to the hotel was to book another tour with Elena. She was warm, friendly, engaging and truly cared about what we wanted to hear and learn. All the stars to Elena. We absolutely fell in love with Venezia and we cannot recommend her enough.
Thank you Veronica for making our kids love to explore Venice. We learned a great many things and our kids couldn't wait to turn the next corner to see what they might find. It was a delight to see them discovering the city.
We had the best time with Elisabetta, she made a treasure hunt for the kids and kept it simple and interesting. It was a good time for all!
We had a great couple of hours with Romy. We learned a ton about Venice, including the history and the present, from someone board and raised (and still living) in Venice. She kept the kids engaged and let me ask my nerdy questions. Highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in Venice - particularly those traveling with kids.
Genny took us on a family-friendly walking tour of Venice yesterday. She took us to see places we would never have found on our own and had lots of interesting facts for the adults, and was great with the kids and moved at their pace. It was the highlight of our visit to Venice! Grazie mille Genny!
Really great, family friendly tour that felt very personalized to us and so much fun! So much great info about the city while exploring. We also loved the great restaurant recommendations. Great tour and highly recommend!
Our guide did a great job engaging the kids and adults alike. She had us complete a scavenger hunt and the kids got to put stickers on a paper when they found the item. We really enjoyed it!
Romy was so perfect with my daughter. it was our first time in Venice and she helped us see the big and small things in the city without feeling like tourists. The scavenger hunt she did with my daughter was fun and engaging (and she had prizes for her) she got down on her level and made history Fun! thanks Romy - we miss Venice and you already!
Our tour with Romy was fantastic. She is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We learnt so much about Venice during our tour and Romy showed us many things we wouldn’t have noticed had we been looking around on our own. She kept our 8 and 10 year old children entertained and it was great doing the tour early in our trip as they are now pointing out things they learnt and understand more about the places we are visiting. It was such a brilliant introduction to Venice and well worth doing and has also highlighted things we would like to explore more during our stay. Thank you Romy.
Genny was the perfect host, great communication before the tour and very flexible with arrangements to meet our needs. We all loved her from the moment we met, it felt like meeting an old friend because Genny is so warm, funny and kind. She even made sure my shy 9 year old was completely comfortable and engaged. We learnt a lot about beautiful Venice and Genny gave us lots of tips for the rest of our trip. We would not hesitate to recommend Genny and would be sure to book again if we are lucky enough to return.
Venice City Kids Tour with Genny: by far one our for FAVORITE activities in Venice. Genny was the best tour guide - she has 2 kids of her own and was so engaging and funny with our kids. We loved her so much - everyone in Venice seemed to know her; yelling “Ciao, Genny!” everywhere we went. Because of her, she got us a private glass blowing demonstration (which we didn’t think we could do because we couldn’t book one in time), a mask making class with San Marco 596 after our tour ANDD she called in a favor and got us entrance to the rooftop of the Fondaco dei Tedeschi with the most incredible views of Venice when we couldn’t get our own tickets 🥲 Please book her — you will not be disappointed. Plus she got our boys a little treat that they loved. She is truly special!
We close our visit to Venice with a tour from Genny. Genny is fantastic, she shows us the first church, pillory, the (fish) market and the best gelateria and pizzeria in Venice. She tells the story of the masks, carnival and the plague, the rats and cats heroes, the prison and the bookshop. But above all, she takes us to the old ware house where all the famous fashion brands are located nowadays, not for shopping but for the roof terrace where you have a 360 degree view of Venice! Not pre-booked but Genny gets us up fir 15 minutes. She is an example of who does good, meets well and a smile costs nothing. With her disarming stories, smile and character, she get everything done during the tour and she knows how to inform and intrigue all 5 of us. We love Genny!
Genny kicked our day in Venice off in a great way. Visiting the city in August, it was obviously packed. Having a 6 and 4 year old with us, it was a blessing to have her pick us up near the ferry, and then navigate us through the crowds to the beautiful narrow and quiet alleys peacefully. Of course she told a cool anecdotes, and took us to a rooftop that we wound have never found otherwise. If you want to make a nice Venice experience with the kids a great one: just book Genny!
Adair was amazing! My kids (5 and 11 y.o.) were a bit tired from a jet lag but she was very engaging and patient with them! They really enjoyed the scavenger hunt and a special treat at the end. Even though Venice can be very busy, Adair’s tour felt very intimate. We walked via charming steers and didn’t see a lot of people all the time. She was easy to talk to and knew a lot of interesting facts about the history of the city which appealed to both adults and the kids. She gave us great tips and advice on how to navigate Venice best and some of her recommendations for food and drinks were fantastic! It was our first time private tour and I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you Adair!
We had a wonderful city tour with Veronica! She was friendly, knowledgeable and kept our kids engaged the whole time with scavenger hunt game and prizes while telling us about history and culture of Venice. Her recommendations for lunch were also great. We highly recommend Veronica to all travelers and especially families with kids!
Adair was a wonderful and engaging tour guide for our family, including a 16yo and an 11yo. She created a treasure hunt for the kids that kept them engaged and ended with a gelato reward at the best gelato place in Venice. She gave us a really good overview of the city and it’s history during our walking tour, which was just long enough on a hot day. We would highly recommend a tour with Adair!
My kids didn’t like the tour at all. We had to stop our tour less than 1 hour. We felt like it was waste of time.
Roberto was the greatest tour guide I have ever had. I am twelve and the tour was interesting and he knows all the little secrets, he even bought us gelato. If you are in Venice you have to take a tour with him.
Roberto was a very nice guide. He is a true Venetian and we very much enjoyed his story telling. He took us away from the crowds which was nice in a city like Venice. Highly recommend getting a private tour with him!
I agree with some previous reviewers that this private tour is not up to Viator standard. The tour guide was not very enthusiastic. He does not have a plan for the two-hour tour. It’s all whatever came into his mind. Worst of all, he took us to the “red light district.” Why would a lady like me be interested in the red light district in Venice. It’s a waste of time and money. Better walk on your own with Google Maps.
Roko took my family of 4 through the city. He was great with the kids - super attentive and always making sure they were involved. It was a chaotic weekend and we navigated quieter streets - he pointed out restaurants and authentic places to shop. So glad we signed up for his tour.
Monica was amazing. We enjoyed the tour as adults BUT the boys really enjoyed it which was a Hugh factor in going with them. I highly recommend this during a visit to Venice.
We hired Romy for the family friendly 2 hour tour. She was amazing. Very knowledgeable, kind and brought Venice to life and helped us see it from the eyes of a local, whilst providing us with historical facts, which we did not know. She kept my children engaged with a scavenger hunt and treats and was patient with the grandparents who had to walk at a slower pace. She took us to her favorite chocolate and gelato place and gave us great restaurant recommendations. If you are looking for a great intro to Venice, book Romy without hesitation.
We were a group with Italians and Americans ranging from 9 to 59 years old. Marco made the tour interesting for all of us. We loved his anecdotes about growing up in Venice in addition to his knowledge of the history of the city. He also gave us a great tip for a gondolier.
My children (ages 13, 10, and 6) fell in love with Romy and still talk about her three months later! She catered to the interests of my children while still keeping the tours (we had two tours with her) so informative and interesting for everyone. She also gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants to try on our trip, which turned out to be so delicious. We highly recommend her as a tour guide!
We’ve had great tour with Lucia. Our group was difficult because we have a few kids in puberty. But she was amazing with them. When we got home, they said: Venice was awsome and Lucia really nice and explained everything so well. She even took us to some places , we were never able to find those by ourselves. So if you want a tour, choose Lucia.
What a wonderful tour yesterday with Matteo. He made it so interesting and his knowledge of Venice and it’s history was amazing Really lovely guy too. Would strongly recommend him This was actually in 2019
We had booked the individual tour with Matteo and it was wonderful! He came up with several locations to look at we would not have found ourselves. At the end of the day, we felt like real insiders and all our questions were answered. We much enjoyed the time and can wholeheartedly recommend Matteo as your guide to Venice! Thanks Matteo for the fun, entertaining and very easy going time we have spent together.
A wonderful way to spend a few hours in Venice with the lovely Lucia - who made the 3.5hours fly by and made my 11 year old daughter feel super special. The way Lucia kept us both engaged and entertained was wonderful and the highlight was most definitely the gondola ride. Naomi adored it all - plus the special treat at the end for getting all those points! Thank you so, so, so much for a truly wonderful morning (Please note we visited in 2019).
Lucia was the perfect tour guide in every respect from start to finish. She created a wonderful itinerary for us based on what we wanted to see and made communication via email super easy. I felt like we were already friends when we met the day of the tour. My two teenagers and husband also thought she was funny, engaging, entertaining, and knowledgeable. Lucia taught us about this beautiful city, it’s rich history, and the ways of locals. I know we enjoyed Venice so much more because of Lucia. I wish I had booked Lucia for the entire day instead of just the hidden jewels and highlights tour. We took a separate tour in the afternoon of St. Mark’s Basilica and Doge’s Palace with a large tour company, and it paled in comparison to our fantastic time with Lucia. Our family has done tours all over Europe and North America; Lucia is without a doubt the best guide we ever had.
Really good fun and interesting introduction to Venice. Fantastically including wine tasting Thanks Lucia.
We had a fab morning with Veronica who is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the city. Our daughter loved the scavenger hunt that Veronica had prepared. We would thoroughly recommend Veronica as your guide in Venice as a few hours with her will not only be fun and interesting but it will also make the rest of your time in the city much more worthwhile. Grazie Mille Veronica!
Valentine is an amazing guide, she took care of us including our two girls 6 yo . She really focuses on them and made our tour in Venice unforgettable. She really prepares activities for them to stay I te rested and enjoy. While adults also get interesting Infos along the way!! Thanks Valentina for such wonderful tour!! As a Persons she is also wonderful!! You can not choose a better option for your children.
My family and I did a wonderful tour of Venice with Valentina, she was amazing. She was fantastically fun, knowledgeable and very engaging to our whole family even though our age ranged from 5 yrs old to 78 yrs old. She did a great job involving our three young boys on the tour, keeping them interesting and showing them highlights as well as providing some truly interesting facts and history to the adults. We would recommend Valentina’s tour to anyone and would be sure that they would enjoy it as much as we did! Thanks again Valentina and MyLocals for such a wonderful Venetian experience.
Veronica was an amazing host to our family of 5. Despite us going to the wrong meeting point she came and found us and even had our grumpy 4 year old enthralled! The tour was so informative and interactive we had such a fantastic time and learnt so many new and exciting things about Venice! Can not recommend Veronica highly enough on how accommodating, patient and fun she was to us all (9, 8 and 4yrs old) what a fabulous morning in Venice. would definitely book again! Thanks Veronica
Romy was a wonderful tour guide and brought Venice to life for our family! We have 2 kids (ages 8&9) and Romy did a fantastic job teaching us about the history of Venice, introducing us to the best bakeries, helping us navigate the streets/areas to go... all while making it fun for the kids! Romy brought a scavenger hunt for the kids and gave them chocolate treats with every place they found! At the end of our tour, Romy took extra time to set us up for a glass blowing display! Highly recommend, the only way to see Venice is through a local's eyes!
Gracias Valentina y gracias Liv tours
I thought I was going on an adventure full of wonder when I booked and prepared my trip to Venice, the city of lovers. However, it was more than an unpleasant surprise to realize that the city of Venice, as we were told, no longer exists. Despite the magnificent historic buildings my trip was not saved. As for the crossing on the shores of the Adriatic Sea which is not even a romantic minimum, it is no longer water that is seen but only shores of rubbish left by tourists who have no respect for this city that was once so emblematic. On the second day of my trip I went to visit the Basilica of St. Mark with my darling and the queue was so long, so I advise you to be armed with a lot of patience to visit this place which is however, the place of this trip that marked me most with its exceptional engravings. The fact that we had to queue for a long time, prevented us from doing another activity during the day. For our third day we decided to go to the Doge’s Palace, this time we didn’t get fooled and we went between noon and two because it’s time when everyone will eat so logically there are fewer tourists. Frankly it was worth the cost not to eat at noon, this place is unmissable and we were able to visit the prisons through the Bridge of Sighs. But, as we took all our time to appreciate the scenery we saw more and more people arriving after lunchtime. Then when we left the Doge’s Palace I saw all the crowd coming in and fortunately we decided to go during tactical times. On our fourth day we walked the Rialto Bridge, as it is unmissable, there are a lot of people on it, even the restaurants and bar next door are crowded. A young man told me to go back in the evening because there are fewer people. For our fifth and last day we decided to walk the streets of Venice, discover how the inhabitants of this city lived. The day goes by, there are many tourists like us and as the hours pass, the streets empty. We see that there are not many lights on in apartments, and houses. After that we inquired and learned that due to mass tourism and inflation of rent prices, many inhabitants had to leave Venice. To give my opinion on the city of Venice, I would say that it is a must but that the mass of tourists spoils the pleasure of visiting this city and beyond that, it is a burden for the inhabitants of this city and its heritage.
Perfectly organized and all our needs were taken into consideration. We travelled with our teenage boys to Venice for 1 day and were accompanied for 2 hours by Roco to the main features of the city. He told us interesting and funny stories of the city and also took breaks in e.g. a library with cats. We would immediately return with Roko on another city tour.
