One of Europe's most influential early public banks, Banco Giro allowed wealthy merchants to settle large transactions through transfers recorded in bank ledgers rather than carrying bags of coins—a remarkably advanced form of cashless payment that helped pave the way for modern banking methods such as cheques and bank transfers.
a must-see landmark where the city’s history, beauty, and vibrant food culture come together.Crossing the Grand Canal at the historic heart of Venice, Rialto was once the center of the city's powerful trading world, surrounded by merchants, markets, and exotic ingredients arriving from across the globe. It's the perfect stop to understand how Venice's history, trade, and food culture became so closely connected.
one of Venice's most atmospheric food landmarks and a must-see on our tour. Surrounded by the sights and sounds of the historic Rialto area, it's the perfect place to discover Venice's deep connection with the lagoon, seafood, and local cuisine—and hear a few stories about what Venetians really eat.
The historic fruit-and-vegetable market area beside the Grand Canal during the day, and at night time, it's a lively place for cicchetti and aperitivo.
one of Venice’s most historic squares, once at the heart of the city’s bustling world of merchants, money, and trade. We’ll save its best stories and secrets for the tour.

Our tour guide was very friendly, accessible, knowledgable. We were able to learn about history food and culture.
Sarita was a fun and informative tour guide. We enjoyed several different food options and wine and saw parts of the city we hadn’t seen before. Highly recommend!
Wonderful fun and informative tour. Definitely don't eat beforehand as there's a great variety of food and wine.
Marianna is a treat! Easily the best food tour I have take (and I do many). Knowledgable and fun loving. Highlight of the trip! Great for solo travelers
This is a very fun, "travel-weary feet"-friendly tour. Not much walking between stops and a 30-40 -minute sit-down food & wine stop about halfway through. Our guide, Alice, offered historical & cultural tips along the way, which my friend and I really enjoyed. She is energetic, funny, and has excellent English. Also, the tour company in general impressed us -- several of the food tours in different languages were meeting at the same place. We arrived before our guide and the Spanish-language guide assured us we were in the right place and her colleague would be arriving soon. Alice arrived shortly thereafter and asked us all oir names and where we were from, then actually remembered and was able to introduce everybody to new arrivals -- great memory! (There were 13 of us.) At our first stop, one of the other English guides rushed over with two of our tour's participants who had ended up waiting at the wrong piazza. Then at the end of the tour, this same guide (who had not been introduced to us and probably only saw us briefly at the edges of our group) ran into us and said, "Oh -- from our ither group! Good evening -- need help?" We were just so impressed by the teamwork and by the care shown by every employee we encountered.
Martina introduced us to so many interesting things about Venice not just the delicious items we tasted! Make sure you come hungry! It was an informative leisurely stroll to different eateries but would be difficult for those who need to sit frequently.
This was a great tour that focused on the traditional Italian dining experience and food culture. It featured old world restaurants and dishes most tourists would never experience. The tour guide, Sara, was passionate about Italian culture and culinary history; and she was delighted to share it with us. My wife and I are very adventurous and love to immerse ourselves into local cultures so trying the many dishes was thrilling. I highly recommend this tour.
Marianna was excellent with a great sense of humour and had loads of tips about food and drink in Venice.
It was a great time, wine was amazing. Our tour guide Alice was incredible. All three party members had a great time.
We enjoyed the experience very much! Sara was very informative and the group was very friendly! The food and drinks were plentiful!
Great experience. Lots of different food and drinks. Mercedes was very accommodating and very passionate.
Everything perfect. Tullia was great
What a fabulous few hours in the company of good people and our terrific guide Sarita. The food and drink choices were spot on and I tried foods I had never had in Italy before. Highly recommend
Lots of tastings with our guide Sara and a very friendly group A bit of walking but we sat down in a restaurant for some wine and food and that was a welcome break!
Great guide and overall wonderful experience. We loved trying new food, wine and establishments we may not have found on our own. It’s also fun to connect with new people. We also did food tours in Rome and Florence that were great. This one involved more standing while eating small bites and juggling plastic cups of wine. The Osteria al Nono Risorto we sat at for the main course was outstanding.
Tullia was awesome, best tour we have aver been on!
I enjoyed this experience very much! Got to know so much more about Venice, and our Tour Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. And the food was good too!
Amazing tour!! Our first ever and Georgia was amazing. She took us so many places and we ate and drank so much great food and wine! She was fun and made our tour very interesting as well. If I could give this review 10 stars I would.
Excellent all round …good food & drink with an excellent guide !
Gaia was amazing! Very friendly and informative. The food and wine were great! Worth every penny and then some. I thought it was our last stop at the restaurant but there was 4 more stops with more food and drinks. Definitely recommend it.
Tullia was an excellent guide around Venice, sharing family owned unique Venetian spots worth visiting.
Very nice choice of itinyrery and place to stop
Enrica was the best host. Friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful and fun. The food was superb and there was plenty of wine. You should really do this to experience the local food and wine and hospitality. Thank you Enrica for a really lovely evening :-)
Marianna was wonderful. She had lots of great advice. The food was great and the wine was plentiful. Worth the cost.
Sarah was our guide and she was terrific! The food and wine at all the stops was outstanding. Sarah was funny and very knowledgeable. She had stories to tell at each stop. She told us some history about Venice. She really loves the city of Venice and sharing it with others. I highly recommend this tour.
Marianna was a great guide. Plenty of food and wine. It’s your dinner. Plus you see the lesser traveled areas.
Marianna with Savor Italy Tours was AWESOME! She was fun and informative. We saw parts of Venice that we would have missed otherwise. The food and wines were very good. I highly recommend Savor Italy Tours and request Marianna in Venice for THE BEST experience.
It was an incredible experience with good food and wines, and an energetic and fun tour guide. Once you start your trip with a food tour, you know what to look for or avoid for the rest of your trip, so definitely good value for money.
Lorenzo was very knowledgeable and energetic, and his positive energy really brought the group together. He also gave us helpful recommendations for restaurants in Venice. The food and wine were all very good, highly recommend.
This was a great walking tour and overview of the available drinks, small plates and restaurants of Venice. Alice, our guide was efficient, friendly, entertaining, knowledgeable and lots of fun! I would highly recommend this tour!
Fun little tour with plenty of food and wine. We ended up going back to a couple of places. Tulli was great!
Tullia was wonderful! She was very informative and we had a really great time with her as our guide. We highly recommend this experience and definitely have Tullia as your guide!
Mariana was excellent! The food and wines were wonderful and she provided history and fun stories. We all had an amazing evening and lots of laughter and enjoyment. There was plenty of food so you don’t want to eat before or after and the walk was perfect.
This was a really nice tour. We got to taste many of the Venizian dishes and wines. Our guide Tulia was great. Very informative and pleasant! Loved it
Great tour. Food was delicious & appreciated the local flavor from our guides.
Tullia was a great guide. We had fun discovering the local bacaros and cicchettis and learning the history of each place.
Alice was a great tour guide. The places we went each had a different flavor representing the food of Venice. The gelato at the end was amazing.
Went to many bacaros to enjoy some wine, prosecco and cicchettis. It was a relaxing walk through the fish and vegetable markets. Had great local pastries then finished the tour with the best gelato.
Incredible tours and experience. Marianna was fantastic, so informative and engaging
One of my favourite tours we have done so far! Marianne was a wonderful tour guide, sharing her knowledge of Venetian culture and food. The food and Prosecco were delicious!
Marianna was a great guide…one of the best we have ever had. She was so knowledgeable and personable.. Everything was the perfect mix of history, drinks and food which made the day so memorable.

We enjoyed this food tour so much. Mercedes was a great guide and very informative. Every stop was delicious and everyone was so friendly. Would highly recommend this food tour
Was an easy relaxed pace of a variety of food and wine tasting. We did not feel rushed at all. Alice our host / guide was very knowledgeable about the local culture food, wine and traditions. Portions did not leave us hungry or thirsty. They also offered vegetarian and alcohol free options.
This is an amazing taste of Venice! It’s you love wine and trying new foods with the history behind it, this tour is amazing and gratifying! I would definitely do it again, worth every penny!!
Sarita (Sarah) was a fantastic guide. She showed us great places to come back to as this was only our second night in Venice. She taught us the correct way to identify the good Gelato. As we have two weeks left in Italy, this will be important!
Excellent tour, great food. Our guide, Sarita was excellent and gave some great recommendations!
Lorenzo was an excellent guide. Incredibly helpful and engaged with the guests. I would recommend whim for any tour.
My wife and I decided to do something a little different during our trip and stay in Venice. This tour was recommended to us by some good friends. We met Lorenzo and a small group of people at one of the Piazza’s Lorenzo let us through parts of the town of Venice that we had not explored. It was fun as he knew almost all of the shopkeepers that we had done food and wine tasting he had great stories to tell and knew lot about the local lure and history of Venice. We enjoyed a lot of savory bites and great wines along the way of our tour at one of our stops. We enjoyed a sitdown dinner with our group and got to know everybody quickly. Lorenzo was very passionate about what he does. I would highly recommend this tour company and especially Lorenzo for this great experience.
