Dolomites Day Trip From Venice: Scenic Mountain Escape

Incredible informative drive with a knowledgable driver (Carlos). Some incredible lakes and mountain views with a stop at a UNESCO site.

Such a beautiful drive to the Dolomites. Ride was comfortable and very entertaining! Our tour guide Carlo was the absolute best!! He made the trip informative and so much fun! So grateful we had him as our tour guide. Perfect photo ops these mountains were a highlight to our trip. Thank you Carlo!!

Beautiful scenery all the way. The guide was very knowledgeable and nice. The only draw back, it was a small group and we traveled by van.

My husband and I had a fantastic day trip with Luca as our guide. Luca was so friendly and personable, and gave us great information about the region. We loved getting to experience the Dolomites without having to drive ourselves, and appreciated the mix of activities. We thought the tour was a perfect balance of trail walks and exploring the city of Cortina.

Our tour guide Nabil was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly enjoy the tour of the mountains and actively concern that every guess enjoy the travel experience

Carlo did an excellent job of describing in detail, everything we were taking in. He did a great job of pivoting our tour (due to drought conditions) to give us the best possible views and experiences we signed up for.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day with Carlo. He was a safe driver and gave us great information about the Dolomites! The scenery was breathtaking (think ‘Sound of Music’ and the Alps). We appreciated that he was able to modify the schedule due to local conditions, our desires, his local knowledge and weather. We had the best lunch we’ve had so far in Italy! It was a fantastic day!!!

Our day trip to the Dolomites was definitely one of the highlights of our Italy vacation! The mountain scenery was absolutely breathtaking, with stunning views, charming alpine towns, and beautiful landscapes everywhere we looked. A special thanks to our tour guide, Nabil, who made the experience even more enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable, took his time explaining the places we visited, and made sure we had plenty of opportunities to stop at the most beautiful spots to take amazing pictures. We never felt rushed, which made the experience even more memorable. It was wonderful to see a completely different side of Italy after visiting its historic cities. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Venice. If you get Nabil as your guide, you’re in great hands!

If I could give this activity 10 out of five stars, I would give it 10 out of five stars! Our tour guide Francesco was amazing. He was polite, knowledgeable, and he was an excellent driver. He was very helpful too. It rained part of the time and he gave everybody an umbrella. And to top it off, he is very handsome! Francesco knew the exact places where we could get the best photos. He also gave great advice on where to eat. Emma‘s at one of the lakes was an excellent restaurant and we would love to go back! Hopefully in the near future, we would like to go to Cortina for a few days and spend maybe in a hotel or something to explore the area better! Thank you again for an amazing time. It was great to see a part of Italy that we didn’t even really know existed.!

Our guide was top notch. His explanations along the way about the sites was amazing. We saw so many beautiful things during our tour in the Dolomites.

Altitude changes your attitude. Even on a cloudy day it was worth the trip. Loved the small group size. Luca (native Venetian) gave us good suggestions on other places to visit and is an excellent driver. Tour is worth your time.

A wonderful tour of the Dolamites! Our guide kept us informed and entertained. Stops were well-spaced, allowing us to stretch our legs and take bathroom breaks. Gorgeous scenery! We thoroughly enjoyed it, despite some overcast skies. With only 8 people and the guide in the van, all went smoothly. Highly recommend!

The scenery is just gorgeous! Lucas was our guide and very kind and accommodating. He had a great deal of knowledge. It would have been helpful to have a microphone so we can all hear him.

Do dress in layers, as the temperature can change, during the trip. Be prepared to walk. You may want to read about the area, briefly, to get even more from the actual experience!!

This is one not to miss. It's a long day but sooooo worth it. Nabil gave us great memories of the beautiful Dolomites.

It is beautiful and so much to experience. The Dolomites are amazing and also we visited a small town Cortina which had hosted two Olympics. Our driver Franciscan was friendly and very knowledgeable. My only recommendation is for the tour guide to have a small microphone so all could hear the information. In a car of 8 people it is challenging to hear the information in the back and even the second seats in the van.

This was a small group experience of 8 people only. The tour leader was very knowledgable and made everyone feel very welcome and included. He kept us on time so we saw all things on the itinerary without feeling overly rushed.

The experience is good and the guide is nice and helpful also take good pictures for us is a nice trip!

Our tour guide, Francisco, was top notch. Absolutely appreciated his energy & knowledge. He made the trip special with his personality & his stories. We also appreciated the stops along the way (eg local town festival). The views were tremendous. Highly recommend the tour & Francisco.

Carlo was awesome- so much knowledge! Sit in the back seats- more leg room. Lunch at the farm was delicious. Everything was beautiful. I recommend.

Pietro worked very hard to give us the best experience. Still, it's hours of driving and though the mountains are spectacular, know it's going to be a very long day. It was over 10 hours.

Our driver Carlo was so welcoming and attentive he had the authentic warmth of a friend inviting you to appreciate Italy. We ate lunch at restaurant with a scenic overlook and impressive food. My tasty German dish showed me what you can do with potatoes. The caveat: Just be aware no serious hike just walk around a scenic lake.

Awesome tour guide & beautiful cities visited! The weather was really nice, and stopping at all 4 cities was the perfect amount. Cortina was incredible.

Excellent tour with a variety of landscapes, views, and things to do. Peter, our tour guide, was amazing! He was friendly, knowledgeable, kind and fun to spend the day with.

Miriam was an amazing guide and shared so much knowledge and history of everything. So many interesting facts we would have missed doing this on our own. She also provided great recommendations once at Cortina to maximize our time there.

The views are incredible as are the walks around the lakes. Luca was a great guide who was easy to converse with and we felt very safe in his care. Lunch … yummm. Again… the Nature views -awesome!

Fantastic day with our guide, Lucca. He was knowledgeable, friendly and helped us see and experience the Dolemites' beauty and history to the fullest. This was definitely a highpoint from our trip and one we will always remember. The natural beauty of the region is breathtaking and Lucca gave us the chance to experience a couple of peaceful walks around mountain lakes to fully experience the majesty of the Dolemites. Our guide Miriam was AWESOME ! She was very friendly and thorough . We did not feel rushed at any point in the day. The ride up to the Dolomites and back was breathtaking. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Well orchestrated. Trip went to the best areas of the area and was well paced and plenty of time to explore on your own. Beautiful but also relaxing.

Carlo our driver was very informative and extremely nice. Always had a big smile! Only thing I would change would be to have a little more time in Cortina. The mountains are beautiful and we decided to take the chair lift up to the top. Amazing views!

Carlos our tour guide was the best tour operator I have met. Very knowledgeable on everything we asked. Showed us the best and cheapest places for lunch and gelato. Truly amazing.

This day trip from Venice was the perfect opportunity to explore the Dolomites for the first time. Our tour guide was kind and knowledgeable. It was great to stop in a couple different mountain villages and see the Olympic sign. Because of this tour, I’d love to return to the Dolomites.

This was an amazing tour! Peter was a great tour guide, and the Dolomites were the most beautiful nature we have ever seen!! The only issue we experienced was right after we left. A person showed up late to the tour, so we had to go out of our way and wait for her to meet us at a pull-off area, and it set us behind on time. With that being said, the tour guide did make up for the time lost, and extended the tour an extra 90 minutes for us. Overall, it was a great day and we highly recommend you do not skip the Dolomites!!

The tour was great, the countryside you travel through is gorgeous, the Dolomite mountains are beautiful and a fun surprise is as you’re driving closer to the Austrian border the Italian towns look just like Austrian and German towns. Loved it!

Highlight of our trip!!! Definitely worth the day trip from Venice. Our tour guide, Daniele, was so wonderful and enjoyable. He made our group lively and at ease. The sights are breathtaking. Well-worth the money spent for this day trip that we would not have been able to do without a tour guide. Tour was timely and organized, with a nice passenger van, water, and a small snack provided. Meals on your own which we liked to give us choice. A must do for anyone visiting Italy!

Luca, our driver and guide, was very personable and efficient. He was a great driver as well and kept us on schedule as much as possible. The van was very cramped with 8 people in it for the 2 hour plus ride.

Massino was an awesome! What a friendly guide who went above and beyond to give us a great experience. Top of the mountain was spectacular and the final stop for ice cream was a great way to finish the trip. We forward to next time!!!

A fun day to be had in the Dolomites, especially travelling from Venice and leaving the hustle and bustle (and heat) behind. Great to get some fresh mountain air! Our guide was excellent, and provided lots of interesting facts throughout the journey. The scenery was spectacular, and we’d definitely recommend the chair lift! The only reason that this review is not 5*s is that there are a couple of stops en-route, which are 25-30 minutes long… and unnecessary. We’d have rather saved the time and headed straight to the main attractions to get more time there, and perhaps go for more of a walk. We did know this when booking though, as others had commented on this as well, but thought we’d echo their words to hopefully help improve the tour for others. Would we recommend the tour? Yes! Will we be going back to the Dolomites for some hiking? Absolutely!!
