Elisabetta was amazing to work with start to finish. She was helpful during the planning phase for our trip and made helpful suggestions. Elisabetta was responsive and attentive to email correspondence. In person, Elisabetta was a wealth of knowledge and patiently answered our questions while explaining the rich history of such a beautiful area. Her enthusiasm was contagious and we never wanted our time to end! She is a true gem!
Relaxed tour with cultural and historical insights. Local knowledge of good eating and drinking spots shared. Highly recommend.
What a lovely tour! Definitely a highlight of our time in Venice. We gained so much insight and info about real life in the city, and Elisabetta was a delight. We could’ve spent all day with her! Highly recommend.
Our family of six had a wonderful experience touring Venice with Elisabetta. A lifelong Venetian with more than 25 years of guiding experience, she brought incredible knowledge and perspective to every stop. Her English is excellent, and she explained the history and culture of the city in a way that was engaging for both adults and children. She was especially great with our kids, keeping them interested and involved throughout the tour. Elisabetta also showed us quieter neighborhoods and local corners that gave us a much more authentic feel for Venice. We highly recommend her to any family looking to experience the city beyond the typical tourist routes.
This is a great way to learn about the real Venice, not just what you see from staying near the usual places. Venice deserves to be appreciated for its smallest passages, unique shops, vibrant history and culture. Our guide, a lifelong resident of Venice, was enthusiastically fluent in all things Venetian and we were delighted we took this tour.
On this excellent tour we got to see areas of Venice that are often ignored. Walking along a quiet canal, we got to see a shop where forcole are made. Forcole are the oarlocks on gondolas. Seeing a craftsman at work on a custom piece was a rare and fascinating treat. We appreciated seeing different places and learning about Venice history, festivals, and unique traditions. This is a particularly good tour if you're looking for an actual camera-down, thinking-cap-on experience. Elisabetta is a wonderfully well-informed guide who clearly loves her city. She shared some recommendations with us for shops and food. And we had our favorite meal ever in Venice at one of her recommendations. We’ll definitely arrange another tour with Elisabetta when we return to Venice and we’re recommending her to our friends.
Awesome guide - her family goes back more generations than any American can imagine! We really felt like we got the full insider view!
Definitely take this tour as soon as you arrive in Venice if you’ve never been before. Elisabetta is a true Venezian who speaks great English and knows all the off the grid spots to go. We talked to her about cultural norms, and she warned us of scams and showed us how to spot pickpockets. We got to ask her a lot about being a resident of Venice, which I found very interesting. She tailored the tour to what we wanted to see and talk about.
On this tour there were only 2 of us. We felt privileged and we have the guide all to ourselves. Elizabeth showed us places we won’t see otherwise. She was very knowledgeable, accommodating and went extra mile for us. We highly recommend this tour and especially this guide
Elisabetta is a charming host in this beautiful city. She knows every inch of Venice. I have visited Venice several times before but this was the best tour.
Takes you off the touristy parts of the city. Our tour guide Elisabeth was very knowledgeable. We learned about the history of buildings and the city. She even went out of her way and met us at our hotel. Made that so much easier for us. We highly recommend booking this tour with Elisabeth. She was great texting us through WhatsApp the day before.
It was real nice to see a different side of Venice away from the crowds and chaos. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable.
Enjoyed seeing Venice from a local’s perspective. It was so nice to escape the crowds! Elizabeth was a wonderful host.
Enjoyed our Secret Venice tour. It was nice to escape the touristy areas and see it from a local’s perspective. Elizabeth was as an exceptional guide.
Excellent value for money. Interesting and informative. Was definitely away from the crowds and delved into true life in Venice
Elisabetta took us on a tour of Venice that we would not have seen otherwise. Areas hidden in Venice with beautiful scenery, special shops with stories behind them and places to go to get a drink and food. She was very pleasant and obviously enjoys what she does. We very much enjoyed this tour!
Elisabetta gave us an amazing tour of her side of the island, away from the crowds and hustle and bustle. She gave us history of Venice, some hidden shops and locations we would have never found on our own. It was a great, intimate tour of a Venice we wouldn’t have seen otherwise.
They were so wonderful working us in as we joined straight from our arrival at the airport. Tour was through quieter, less touristy areas and so informative. They brought the city’s winding streets and hidden corners to life with local insights and gave us great information to help us during our stay in the city,
Elisabetta was great. I was hurt and not able to walk well and she modified the tour to my needs. We went to delightful parts of Venice away from the normal crowds and we found it relaxing and charming.
We did our tour with Martina and we LOVED her. She is so knowledgeable and kind and made the whole experience feel so personal. She treated us to all kinds of goodies along the way (gelato/wine/cicchetti) and let us see inside a few buildings we normally wouldn't have been able to. Martina made our first time in Venice so special. I cannot recommend her enough
She's a lovely lady with full of knowledge and information about Venice and she recommended places for us to have to eat. Very helpful in answering our questions.
A wonderful way to discover Venice. We went at 8:30am so missed the large crowds. Elisabetta was a wonderful guide . She is a local and has a real understanding of the Venice life its change over the years. She was very personable and it felt like we were walking the city with a friend. Highly recommend.
We had a great time wandering the quiet back streets of Venice. Our guide, Martina, was very accommodating and shared many stories and historical facts about the city. It was one of the best walking tours I have ever taken. She treated us all to a Gelato.
Elisabetta was an outstanding guide. Born and raised right in Venice, she was a wealth of knowledge. It was just my husband and I who are fairly quiet people and she put us at ease and carried the conversation very well. We covered a lot of ground. It was great!
Loved the tour and our tour guide Elisabetta. Our favorite part of the tour besides seeing various parts of Venice we would have never seen on our own was visiting the Church of St Pantelon. Thank you Elisabetta for giving us a great tour.
We loved loved, loved our personal tour with Elisabetta! Her tour was exactly what we wanted. She made our day!
We and two other couples booked a walking tour of Venice and were very happy with the tour. We learned alot of history presented in an interesting manner which can interest someone who is not a history buff. She was very flexible in order to meet the individual needs regarding physical issues and physical stamina of our group of six as well as our divergent interests. We especially appreciated her finding a short line to enter St Marks cathedral Highly recommended.
Excellent guide who was very knowledgeable and passionate about the tour. Explained the artwork and life in the time of when these events occurred.
As others have said before me, definitely book this tour and if possible, on your first day. Venice can be overwhelming for a new comer, Elisabetta makes it very logical. Along the way she provides a narrative of history, points out local favorites, and the “how to” on navigation. Two hours wasn’t nearly enough, we could have spent days with her.
Our tour guide, Alisabetta, communicated from several days before our booking up until even after the booking was over. She was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to and took us all over parts of Venice that my husband and I had not seen in the two days prior that we had been there. She told us history of Venice and answered many questions that we asked her about her own life and she also asked us about our lives. It felt like walking with a friend for a couple of hours. She even changed the tour up a little bit and accommodated our request for a specific kind of treat and showed us where our dinner reservations were later that day. She told me that she would send recommendations of restaurants to go to for the following days of our trip and followed up with them right after the tour. She even sent me several places to go the next day and was incredibly friendly. We felt like we made a friend! Highly recommended this private tour.
Our tour guide Elisabetta was absolutely amazing! She was so sweet and very knowledgeable on all things Italy. Super helpful and made it very personable. She took us to some pretty awesome spots of Italy. We really enjoyed her company; it was just my husband and I with her and she did not disappoint where she took us. She gave some great recommendations of where to go eat as well.
Elisabetta was extremely friendly, and very engaging. She showed our family (9yo, 11yo) her local church, and while we were out she was greeted by her neighbors & family friends. Highly recommended if you are looking to learn about people who live in Venice!
Highly recommend touring Venice with Elisabetta. Really fun and informative, and she will show you all the best places to go for food, drink, shopping, sight seeing. Should be your first tour of the trip! A+
Elizabetta was a wonderful tour guide. So friendly and accommodating to our needs. She is extremely knowledgable, her english was excellent, very patient with all our questions. I was with my adult daughter who had never been there before. Would highly recommend her!!!
Elisabetta is friendly, knowledgeable and tailored our tour to our interests. She spoke with enthusiasm about the history of the place she lives and brought Venice's past to life One tip is to buy a vaporetto pass as this allowed us to travel the Grand Canal with Elisabetta sharing information about the different palaces. We highly recommend this tour.
Great knowledge from a local! She was flexible in showing us areas that were of interest to us..... not just a typical pre-rehearsed tour.
Our family was enamored by Elisabetta. She was very informative and spoke English well. We were taken through the labyrinth that is Venice and shown her beauty.
This tour was marvelous and we enjoyed seeing more of Venice than the tourist hotspots. Elizabetta was kind, patient and extremely knowledgeable about the history of Venice. She was a fantastic guide to the Venice of both the past and the present.
We had a great time with Elisabetta walking the back streets of Venice and talking about the life of people there. We got to see a side of Venice visitors don't see, with even a quick visit to a Venetian apartment.
This was our first trip to Italy (my husband and I), and we started with Venice. Elisabetta's tour was our first, and it was a great start to our trip. It's clear that she's very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Venice. She took us through many areas, showing us spots that were not in the midst of tourist crowds. She also helped us find places to eat, and she offered other helpful tips for those like us who are unfamiliar with the area.
Elisabetta was a great Tourguide and showed us a lot of places and good restaurants. She was very kind and knew a lot about Venedig. We would do the tour again
What a wonderful time we had with Elisabetta! Having done some self-guided touring of “touristy Venice” the day before, I wasn’t that into the city, honestly. Too crowded (with tourists), which just made me kind of hate it. But what a marvelous trip the “secret Venice” tour was. Elisabetta is a native Venetian - funny, savvy, knowledgeable - and makes you feel at home right away. By the time she had taken us on walks through beautiful parts of Venice where the tourist/native ratio was much more agreeable, shown us where to find fabulous food and drinks, clued us in to places where gorgeous art could be found, and given us a wonderful sense of the city’s history, I actually quite loved Venice. Absolutely because of her wonderful tour and delightful personality, I would 100% visit Venice again. Thank you so much, Elisabetta, for just being so awesome.
We did the secret Venice tour with Elisabetta. She showed us Venice off the beaten path and at each location she gave us so many good tips like where to eat (more importantly which tourist traps to avoid), where to buy things we were interested in, and where to sit and admire the city. We did the tour when we arrived and she gave us enough material to keep us busy for our remaining week. Will definitely do it again in the future in a different area of the city. 5 star guide and person!
Our guide was incredible. She walked us through the back streets and winding roads. Talked about the culture and history around a fabulous city. I highly recommend, the only way to visit Venice.
Elisabetta indeed showed us quiet and beautiful spots off the beaten track in Venice. Avoided the Rialto and St Mark crowds and visited charming plazas via interesting streets. Elisabetta is charming and knowledgeable about Venice and Venetian history, and was always pulling out books and maps from her purse to illustrate a point. Highly recommend.
Elisabetta is an excellent guide funny, patient and most of all very knowledgeable. I totally enjoyed my tour with her and I highly recommend her thank you 🙏🏼 grazie
Elisabetta gave my family and me an absolutely personalised, hilarious and incredibly knowledgeable few hours of her time sharing the Venice that's a little off-the-beaten track. After 3 hours and a quick reboot in a great little coffee bar, Elisabetta felt like a friend and it was lovely to be here with someone who cares about her city and knows what happens behind the scenes for true Venetians. But she let us know lots of tips and practical info too: great restaurants, how the vaporetti (water buses worked), what her family had done here over the last few hundred years, where the best gelato was, and what an amazing if difficult city this is to live in. We laughed a lot and learned a lot too - a great afternoon I'd recommend at the drop of a hat.
This was an awesome experience. It's not a prepackaged tour, it's a personal tour with Elisabetta who is from Venice. You get this lovely tour and great advice of where to eat and how to navigate the city. Venice is quite the experience that can be taken to another level with a great tour. If you're going to Venice, do this tour! You will not regret it.
We had a last minute change to our tour guide due to an injury. We ended up having Denice as our guide. SHE WAS AMAZING!!!! What a true delight to wander around the secret streets of Venice with such a charming local. As my husband and I are huge history fans we truly enjoyed her vast knowledge of this amazing city. If we were to book another tour we would ask for her personally. It truly felt like you were being escorted around the city by a friend.
