Amarone & Soave Wine Tour - Visit Verona, From Venice, Treviso

Very good experience on our first day in Italy. Smaller family wineries with personality. Great wine and the guide was very informative and positive. They were able to help us ship a case of wine home which took the pressure off us trying to figure out the process.

This was a good day tour of the area and wine regions. The wineries visited were excellent. Plenty of tastings to be had. The hosts were very friendly and there was some small nibbles provided at both wineries. The Verona tour felt somewhat rushed due to a street race going on that day and that took some time away from our guide. There was also a delay at one of the wineries. Both of those occurrences shortened our available time in the center of town and our guide, Riccardo, was keeping us at a quick pace. This was to keep on schedule with the second winery. Whilst we, and the other couple on this tour with us, appreciate the effort in keeping on schedule, it was difficult to truly appreciate our time in Verona. It was an unfortunate couple of circumstances, however, we still appreciated the effort Riccardo put into fitting everything in. I would recommend this tour. Riccardo was quite knowledgeable about the surroundings, the wineries and Verona. In the end, a good time was had by all.

10/10. Our tour guide Riccardo was friendly knowledgeable and really took care of us. The hosts at Tessari and Gamba vineyards were welcoming with generous pours and charcuterie spreads. The break for tour in Verona was concise but hit the highlights of the quaint romantic town. I will be recommending Riccardo to any one visiting Venice looking for an amazing day trip outside of the area to Soave, Valpolicello and Prosecco.

We were treated to a wonderful experience by our guide Ricardo. We first visited a lovely Soave winery. It is family run and they were all delightful. The wine was delicious. We then headed to Verona. What a beautiful city. Ricardo gave us an excellent walking tour of the city and provided so much interesting history. We then headed to another beautiful vineyard that produces red wine. It was a spectacular setting in the hills surrounded by beautiful scenery. Wines were delicious and they graciously made arrangements to ship to our wine home . I can’t say enough good things about the private tour provided by Ricardo.

Pick up from Venice was simple and direct. Ricardo our tour guide was knowledgeable and want us to have a great experience, which we did. We visited two family-owned wineries and received plenty cheeses, salami and bread at each. Ricardo allowed us to be flexible with our tour which was nice but we also wanted to see Verona which was impressive. Well worth the price of this tour!

This was exactly what I was hunting for. I am a big red wine fan and it was not easy to find someone doing tours of Amarone vineyards leaving out of Venice. Riccardo is extremely knowledgeable, incredibly kind and a great driver which is important because you are spending 3+ hours in a car with someone you have never met before. The vineyards were wonderfully selected and family owned and operated so you get a relaxed experience with time and a lot of focus. I highly recommend touring with Riccardo!

Had a great day out with Riccardo. We didn’t realize that this was a private tour when we booked it. Visited two very unique wineries. Both were very small and family owned. A great experience at both. Riccardo then spent the time walking us around Verona sharing the history with us. This is a definite must do tour.

Ricardo was amazing and went over and above to ensure we were comfortable every step of the way. He had clearly researched each stop and was open to adjusting the tour to fit our needs. Ricardo was a great guide. He had amazing wine knowledge and was very friendly, we went to two fantastic wineries which were family owned. Both of the guides we had at the wineries, Taylor and Sonia spoke amazing English so conversations were easy and they were both very knowledgeable. Nice snacks at both. We also stopped at Verona which was great to see - a nice city with some lovely spots for a drink. Would definitely recommend this tour, the only thing to be aware of is that the driving time is quite long on the return journey but it was worth it to see more of Italy.

We did the Amarone-Soave tour with Ricardo. It’s a one man private tour operation so book early if you would like to go. Both of the wineries had really lovely wines and amazing hospitality.

My family and I were in Venice for 1 week and booked many tours but this was by far the BEST tour and tour guide of the week. Several weeks prior to our arrival in Italy, our tour guide Riccardo reached out to me to confirm the tour details and pick up location. The day before the tour Riccardo sent another message with the plans for the day so that my family and I could dress accordingly ( which was extremely appreciated as a group of ladies). He arrived on time, the tour van was very clean and in great condition and we took a relaxing drive to the vineyards. Both vineyards were gorgeous and well kept and family owned. The owners were gracious and welcoming and very knowledgeable about the wines. They provided light snacks for us which were delicious and ALL of the wines tasted amazing. We bought so many bottles that we had to ship them directly home! The day also included a walking tour of Verona where Riccardo showed us many historical sites and was very knowledgeable about the city. Overall we had a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.

Riccardo is a gentle and knowledgeable guide who took us to some excellent family run wineries on this tour. We would highly recommend wine lovers choose Riccardo as he will listen to you and cater the tour to your needs. His knowledge of wine and regional history was excellent, as well as enabling us to skip the queue into a major attraction for a quick visit. The journey was safe and comfortable. Riccardo speaks clear English and was a good tutor along the way to help me practice Italian. Grazie mille!

This was a lovely tour! My family had a great experience at both wineries and we loved the walking tour of Verona. Ricardo was very knowledgeable and kind. It was a perfect day trip from Venice! My recommendation is to eat a large breakfast because there was no time for lunch. We were ok with just the snacks because we ate a huge breakfast.

My husband and I took the full day Amarone Soave tour from Venice with Ricardo. The day was absolutely amazing! Ricardo was well spoken and took us to wineries that were small and quaint...not the large ones that all the tourists go to. He communicated with us for a couple of days prior to the trip and made sure we knew right where to meet him. I would definitely book another trip with him if I make it back to Venice!

Our guide, Riccardo was a level 3 sommelier. He was knowledgeable and passionate about wine. The Soave and Valpolicella regions were gorgeous and the wineries we toured were welcoming and informative. I am an Amarone lover for life. Verona was beautiful and Riccardo was as knowledgeable about the city’s history as he was about the wines. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour and ask for Riccardo as your guide.

Riccardo was responsive to our texts and we had no trouble meeting him in Venice. Then it was an hour to the first winery by private car. He was able to give us history of the area along the way. Both wineries took us into the vineyard and a knowledgeable wine tasting with local meats and cheeses followed. In between each winery, Riccardo took us into the beautiful and historic city center of Verona where we were shown the highlights such as the amphitheater, Juliet’s balcony, the Fort and more. This tour was the best day tour we have been on so far during our Italy visit. A lovely day and well worth the money.

It was the best day of our trip to Venice’ Ricardo is amazing/ speaks English perfectly, is a sommelier so can answer any question on wine. I love amarone! On top of that, Ricardo knows the history of the area and is a great guide! Moreso, is that Ricardo is so like able that it’s hard to say good bye at the end of the tour. Consider yourself lucky if u get this tour’

Truly fantastic day trip . Riccardo is an absolute pleasure . The vineyards we visited were so interesting , the wines are artisan and made with passion . So wonderful to see and taste . Riccardo took us to Verona , so worth it . A stunning city , again Riccardo talking us through the history and of course the Romeo and Juliet balcony . If you’re only doing one tour whilst in Venice make this the one .

Ricardo was great! We went to the first winery and I was tired( I just had a hip replacement a few months ago)and asked if we could do something else and he said yes so we spent time in Verona. I would highly recommend Ricardo!

Savouring an 11-day apartment stay in Venice, my wife and I took a day-tour with 'Italytoursandmore'to discover Soave and Amarone wines. Ricardo (the talkative half of the partnership) picked us up at Piazzale Roma and drove us to our first stop, at Vigna Cengelle Vineyard, Soave, a very small family run winery. Sarah,the owner's daughter-in-law, gave us a tour of the vineyard (trellising so different from Aust) and proudly gave an excellent presentation of her family wines. A side trip to beautiful Verona on the way to Valpolicella and the larger, elegant, but family-owned,Gamba Wines Estate, followed. The explanation of the unique process of making of the four distinct red wines, using the same four Valpolicella grape varieties was explained as we tasted each one... and we now know why so many Italians love Ripasso and it's big brother Amarone. If you enjoy Italian dry white & red wines, this tour is a "must do"... and perhaps leave some room in the suitcase to take some home. Ricardo was a safe driver and a very entertaining host! It was a wonderful day to discover local wineries! We have now a new favourite type of red wine :) Our guide Riccardo was very friendly and considerate and he told us also many interesting facts during the car ride. It was a great day and perfect to discover areas near Venice to see more.

My husband and I have done it numerous wine excursions throughout Italy, but this one with Riccardo was absolutely the best!!! He made the day feel as if we were just hanging out with a friend, he was so hospitable an extremely kind. The wineries were awesome too, small boutique wineries of suove and Amarone plus a afternoon tour of Verona. It was just one of the best days ever. He even stopped at a local bar for my husband and I bc were dying for some espresso !

We went to two family owned wineries with great wine, delicious food and the most amazing people and dogs. Everyone was so welcoming and kind. After the wineries he took us on a tour of Verona which was lovely. We enjoyed every second of our day with Riccardo. If you want a fantastic. memorable and unforgettable day, Riccardo is your guy. This is the BEST tour we had during our Italy trip. Riccardo is a fantastic guide. The vineyards included in the tour are outstanding; we enjoyed the best white wine in the Soave region at the Stefanini vineyard, and then we visited the Bignete vineyard for some amazing Valpolicella Amarone. The walking tour of Verona was a great ending to a fantastic day. Riccardo was amazing, he made sure we had a fantastic experience!

So my family and I were in Venezia for a week! we are wine lovers but not the touristic kind..we love to go to boutique wineries with Good quality wines...I research throughly to find a great wine tour and I saw Riccardo tours in Tripadvisor (Tripadvisor made so hard to contact directly the agency or tour person) so it was a challenge to contact Riccardo but I made it! Thank God I did it because he and his team were amazing! (they are vaccinated n very cautious with Covid ) I ask him if he can do a private tour(we were 7 adults (one senior 88 & my child 8 years old) we were pick up in this beautiful private mini busvan it was clean, AC,offer us water all times!! Then I requested him if we can have lunch somewhere because we would like to eat between wineries (even if he has to modify the prices!that's totally fine!!!) and he did that for us!!! the restaurant was in a cute place is Valpolicella with local food(my niece had donkey!lol!) but don't worry there's pasta!!! The wineries the 1st we visited it was La Bastille what a BEAUTIFUL family and winery!! From Andrea n his sister to their Mom what a wonderful family they explained us about the winery,family history,Soave 🍷 & region history, is remarkable and memorable to see how proud they are about what they created!ADMIRABLE !! and that's what we love to do...to talk with owners while experiencing the 🍷( not feeling just like clients)then tasting Mom's homemade cold meats,jam,fig from their farm!!Delicious!!! we would prefer not to leave and just hang out with them!LOL! The 2nd winerie Lde Bignele also very pretty small winerie but more touristic feeling ( so different from the 1st one) but still Great to visit!!! the Girls(so sorry I am terrible with names) our Sommelier she was fantastic and so kind! to learn about Amarone wines !priceless!! and how nice they were with my daughter they give her something to coloring while we can taste the wines! I love the fact that Riccardo presents to 2 different types of wineries!!! also how helpful were from the driver,to Ricardo and wineries help my father in law who can't walk so much but he was in a wheelchair to moved around and not missing any of the wine experience! THANK YOU) for that because we reallly appreciate! Definitely do a Tour with Riccardo he is the guy to go and support this local business buying some wine!!!!
