Hotel Colombo

Currently writing this review on only our third night here however, it has to be said that this hotel really is a hidden gem. The hotel staff are outstanding, so kind and welcoming. Carmine (i believe that’s his name) who i believe is the restaurant/ hotel manager is lovely, he really goes above and beyond for his guests. The hotel facilities are clean and well maintained, the pool area is lovely and again so clean. the food is excellent and such good options for all needs and allergies etc. The location is great with lots to do just on the doorstep. i can see why this hotel has such wonderful reviews and so many returning customers. We leave in less than a week and already are thinking of returning in the future. So glad we chose this hotel, thank you to all the staff and i cannot fault any of you! thank you xxx

The staff were friendly and polite. The room could have been a bit cleaner, but it was still okay. The bidet was built right in front of the toilet, which was a bit cramped for tall people. The rooftop pool was outstanding. Absolutely fantastic. Five minutes' walk to the beach, perfect. The breakfast was delicious and varied.

So, don’t expect VIP treatment — unless “VIP” stands for Very Inconvenient Place. Breakfast was… fine. The kind of meal that makes you think, “Yup, that’s technically food.” The room was “renovated” (heavy on the quotation marks). The door wouldn’t close properly — maybe they were going for an “open-door policy”? The shower had two modes: lava and glacier melt. I now have the skin of a boiled shrimp. Check-out is at 10 AM — apparently, they don’t want you to get too comfortable. If you miss that, don’t worry — your car makes a fine backup room. Oh, and the sauna? That’ll be €38 for a couple — because nothing says “relaxation” like paying extra to sweat. The pool isn’t heated either, so unless you’re part penguin, it’s more of a decorative feature. To be fair, the manager was really trying her best (respect), and the night guy deserves a medal — he was the only reason guests weren’t rioting in the lobby. 10/10 for comedy value. Would visit again only if I lose a bet.

Excellent Hotel, where people make the difference :-) Impressed by the high quality and delicious food. Roof top bar has been recently renovated. A nice bar and pools are inviting to relax. Rooms are very clean but relatively small. If you consider to book this hotel, here is my clear recommendation, but advice to book one higher categorised room.
