Ai Boteri

Room was extremely small. There was mold growing under the sink on the wall. Additionally, we came back to water leaking from the ceiling. We reported the issue to the front desk and they did nothing. We had to pay for extra towels. The next day we were upstairs in the common area (1 floors above our room) and there was a room (directly above our room) that was flooding from the ceiling. There was a bathroom located on the floor above. Staff refused to relocate us or reimburse us. Location is fine. You can find better

BED BUGS! AVOID STAYING HERE! When my husband and I checked in, we found a bed bug in our bed, and bed bug feces all over the mattress. It was almost midnight, and we found a different hotel and told the employee we weren’t staying, and wanted a refund. The employee talked to their manager and agreed to the refund (but unfortunately we didn’t get it in writing though, we just took them at their word). It’s now been over a month and we haven’t received our refund. We have tried to reach out to Ai Boteri many times and haven’t been able to get a hold of them. We contacted Expedia since that’s who we booked through, and after many attempts they finally got in touch with Ai Boteri, who is now apparently denying our refund request. Horrible experience. We just want them to take accountability for this awful situation and horrendous customer service. If I could give zero stars, I would.

After difficulty accessing the hotel due to poor instructions, we were unwelcomed at reception by a staff member who did not want to be of assistance. Whilst we waited in reception (pretty run down, dingy) a guest stormed out of the lobby with all their luggage and said “There are bed bugs here” to which we were stunned and on edge immediately, yet, forever grateful to this stranger for warning us what was to come.. Once shown to our room we stowed our bags on the high table far from the bed so we could inspect. Within 2 minutes, we found a cluster of bed bugs alive and very visible (screenshot from video attached). We went to reception straight away and informed the unwelcoming receptionist who followed us to the room to prove what we had seen. Once shown, there was no apology, zero remorse and worst off, he didn't even look surprised. After leaving us for 5 minutes to call his manager, he offered to show us to another room. Reluctantly we went to look, but we were extremely uncomfortable for obvious reasons and did not want to stay. There was still no apology or acknowledgement from the staff member, nor a suggestion of a refund. We had to ask for one. The receptionist called his manager who said he'd grant us a refund back through the booking platform (booking.com) It has now been a month since this trip and we have still not received any compensation. We can't get hold of Ai Boteri, and Booking.com keeps saying my request is processing, but never actually gets in contact with us to resolve it. The manager running this bed bug infested hotel has also not tried to contact us (they have our contact details from the booking) to give us a refund, or apologise. For your own health and safety, there are far better places to stay in Venice for the same amount of money, and even if you pay a little more it will be cheaper than fighting for a refund you will never get. Avoid like the plague - you just might catch it.

Litteraly 1 minute after getting in the room I spotted a bed bug on the wall. The reception guy came in and took the same picture as I did to confirm the presence of live bed bugs. Usually bed bugs are elusive and hide but when infestation gets so bad you start seeing them in the open. Do not risk carrying them. The receptionist said he will talk to the owner about a refund but I know it was a lie. They act like its the first time they saw bed bugs. Clean your hotel please, refund people their money and repair your reputation or your buisness won't last.
