It was absolutely fantastic! My wife and I had the privilege of being guided by Vaitiare through the streets of Valparaíso city center. We learned a great deal about the history of the city, the impact of major events on the economic and social fabric of Valparaíso and of Chile in general. Vai was so insightful and passionate that we fell in love with the city even more than what we thought it would be the case. We strongly recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in this peculiar, colourful and lively town. Thank you Vai, all the best to you, Maria and Carlo.
Vaitiare guided us in Valparaiso. We were able to see murals of varying quality. In an art shop she introduced us to a local artist. She drew our attention to several beautiful buildings, telling us about their history and previous owners. We learned a lot about Valparaiso's golden age, its impoverishment, the advantages and disadvantages of being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. All this happened in an informal, kind, and good-natured conversation. All the while she even looked after us, so we avoided situations that would endanger our values. Thanks to Vaitiare, we not only learned a lot and enjoyed art, but we also found a true friend in her.
Vaitiare, our guide was excellent. She kept a great pace, made the tour extremely interesting and answered all of our questions in great detail. We really had a great time with her. Would definitely recommend it.
Super great tour! Definitely got to see parts of Valparaiso I would not have seen and learn interesting history of the area. Vai was an excellent guide who shared a lot of tips and advice to make my trip enjoyable! Highly reoxmmend!
We had a fabulous walking tour with Joachim today. He is very knowledgeable and able to provide information on past history to the current colorful environment that Valparaiso is today. A must do!
Our walking tour around Valparaiso with Vaitiare was FANTASTIC. She was informative and friendly and we couldn't have spent the three hours in a better way. Thank you>
We showed up for our tour and no tour guide. because we were the only folks who signed up. I understand that it might no be worth it for 2 people but there was ZERO communication. The Spanish-speaking guide from the same company offered to do a bilingual tour but we opted to join Cerro 47, another company that was leaving from the same location. That tour was excellent.
A great tour which takes you around all the must see spots and gives you a history of Valparaiso, Vaitiare was very knowledgeable and fun. Would recommend
Had 3 hour walking tour of Valparaiso by guide Vaitiare. She did an excellent job and I learned a lot. It was great to see all the street art, of course, but valuable to get information behind the art. Some of the murals were complex and needed this explanation. Saw some key venues like the fine arts museum and the port. Took 2 of the ascensors to get that experience. Also provided recommendations on restaurants and other places to visit.
Tour was great , our guide Vai was amazing and showed us the best sites of Valparaiso and also gave extra recommendations for food & drinks etc for after the tour .
We had a great walk with Vaitiare Lovely personality and full of useful information in excellent English The trip was a pleasure David
We booked a private walking tour with Viataire to learn about the culture and history of Chile and Valparaiso. The tour was amazing and the planning of where we went and the description of the murals and history of the area were excellent. We highly recommend this tour as a way to see a significant part of the city. Viataire also gave us good information and tips on where to go and what to do on the remaining days of our trip and was available for questions and help on whatsapp.
We had a great experience accompanied on our walking tour by our guide Vaitiare. She was extremely knowledgeable and provided for a fantastic tour! She provided numerous recommendations for further visits and restaurants. Vaitiare is an excellent guide and we highly recommend her for you Valparaiso walking tour!
This was a great introduction to a one-of-a-kind city. We were lucky to have Joaquin as our guide. He knew the city very well and showed us an interesting variety of street art, significant places, and local characters. For anyone concerned about safety, Joaquin is very cautious and we felt much safer with him than if we had wandered by ourselves.
We had a great experience in the walking tour in Vapo. Joaquín the guide was great, able to speak English and Spanish and very kind/patience to explain the stories and culture of Valparaiso. Muchas Gracias, Joaquín!
Great walking tour around Valparaiso with Joaquin - but the best part was his recommendation on where to see wild sea otters the next day - thanks so much !
We really wanted a street murals tour and our intrepid guide kindly included that in the tour. Valparaiso can be an unsafe city ( even during the day in certain areas for the uninformed ). We stayed safe with our trusted guide who knew her facts well and expertly informed us of history and various intruging wall murals
The best way to discover the city and learn About its rich history. The murals in the old town are wonderful and the views are spectacular
I had such a wonderful time on my walking tour with Vaitiare! She’s honestly one of the friendliest and most welcoming guides I’ve ever met. She explained everything in a super clear and fun way, and she shared so many interesting stories that make the city come alive. Vaitiare made us feel comfortable from the very beginning — like we were exploring the city with a friend who knows all the best spots. She answered every question with patience and a smile, and added lots of cool tips you’d never find on your own. Luba and Gary
Vaitiare was a superb guide, she was patient and thoroughly professional and knowledgeable - explaining everything with minute detail. Highly recommend this walking tour
My girlfriend and I did a free walking tour a couple of days ago and absolutely loved it! Our guide Vaitiare was amazing - she answered all our questions, had a lot of knowledge about the city and gave amazing recommendations. She informed us that it was only her 4th English tour; if she hadn’t told us we wouldn’t have realized. Her level of english was great, also compared to other free walking tours we’ve done all over South America. Would book this tour again!!
Excellent tour and experience! Really enjoyed the walk, it was very informative and fun. The guide, Benjamin, was fantastic. What a beautiful town and the art was lovely.
Vai has been a fantastic guide that took us through the most interesting areas of Valparaiso. She is passionate about mural art and through many typical examples she made reference to the history of this fascinating city, and the whole country. Highly recommended.
The free tour with Joaquin was great! In addition to showing us around the city, he provides some good food recommendations. Would definitely book it again.
We had a fantastic tour in Valparaíso with Cata as our guide! She was incredibly informative, passionate, and took her time to explain the history, culture, and hidden gems of the city. Cata’s deep knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience even more engaging. She answered all of our questions with patience and detail, and you could really tell she loves what she does. Highly recommend her if you want an insightful and memorable tour!
We had a great tour with Macarena. It was fun and informative and a must when visiting Valparaíso. Would highly recommend!
What a fabulous insight into the street art of Valparaiso! Our guide, Macarena was informative & took us on a fascinating walk around the city. She recommended places to visit & a lovely place for lunch. It was a great day!
Very nice and informative walk with a guide who really knows the city and showed us nice places. She also gave suggestions for good restaurants and warnings for places to avoid.
Alex is a wonderful tour guide and we loved getting to know Valparaiso. At first glance this city feels a little grungy, but it really grows on you the more you explore and the higher up you get on the hillsides. The whole city is bursting with color and beautiful street art. Alex really shows you the highlights of what makes this such a special city, and you even get to go down a slide and ride a funicular up the hillside. 100% recommend this tour.
Maca was an incredible guide who not only was able to provide me with the history of the murals around Valparaiso, but also tell me so much about the history of Valparaiso and Chile as a whole. Her expertise and knowledge provided me with a new way to look at the city, and as I continued my travels around Chile, I continued to reflect on our conversations. Thank you once again for igniting my curiosity!
A very insightful tour taking in some of the best places in Valparaiso. Our tour guide Cata was very knowledgeable and fun to spend time with. I highly recommend taking a private tour rather than a group tour.
Our guide, Macarena was so fun and smart and knowledgeable about the area. We felt well cared for throughout our entire walking tour. She spoke perfect English and gave us a lot of fun facts and historical information. It really brought this vibrant city to life in a way that it wouldn’t have otherwise if we were just walking around by ourselves.I would highly recommend this walking tour! I would give it six stars if I could.
My sister and I had a wonderful tour of Valparaíso with our local guide Alvaro. Alvaro was amazing - so informative and able to answer all of our questions. The tour took in all of the main sites of the city, plus some hidden extras, such as trying some local cookies and listening to a local singer!
Alex was an amazing guide. He's been doing it for 8 years but retains his enthusiasm for Valparaiso. He knows everyone along the way and is obviously well liked and respected by his peers and the street artists. The street art was fantastic - much better than we saw in Barranco (Chile). Best value tour we did in 3 weeks visiting Chile, Peru (Lima), Mexico (Merida), and Cuba.
The tour guide (Camilo) did not show for the tour. Nobody contacted us until long after the planned start time. 6-8 people waited for the tour to start. Urban tours then reported us to the booking agent, Freetour as a no show. This wasn't correct. Freetour can stop you from booking with them in the case of no show so this isn't fair! Luckily Jurassic tours also had a walking tour leaving at a similar time so we was allowed to join that group to see Valparaiso. Things happen but please be honest Urban Tours when they do.
I totally recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience Valparaiso! It felt very safe to walk with a group, and Gonzalo did an amazing job. He spoke great English and showed us so many beautiful places. Thanks to Gonzalo, we were able to see everything we wanted in Valparaiso in only a couple of hours, learn about the city, and try one of the funiculars.
Gonzalo was an excellent guide! He gave a lot of local flavor to the tour. Great English language skills.
Gonzalo was awesome! Fun, interesting and playful. Book with him and you can’t go wrong. Definitely, grab an empanada.
Felipe, our guide, spoke excellent English!! He was very informative!! We learned a lot! We would highly recommend this tour and Felipe!
Felipe was an amazing guide. We very much enjoyed his insights into artist life in Valparaiso. Couldn't have worked better.
Gonzales shared a lot of information about the city history and explained some of the fantastic murals. We had a wonderful tour.
Javi was a great guide, she showed us many places in Valparaiso and shared her local knowledge of art and the history. A fab trip, highly recommend to get the most out of the city. Thanks Javi!
We had a great tour with Emilio very interesting a lot of explications and a few things to think about!we recommand this tour.
Great tour with Filipe who was very informative about the history of Valpraiso as well as where to find the best local beer! Wonderful walk through some amazing street art and historic buildings. Highly recommended!
A very interesting tour. We loved the itinerary and everything Oriana told us. She is a very good professional and explained it super well. She speaks perfect English
The guide is super friendly and knows Valparaíso very well.
The guide taught us many interesting facts and showed us many details and many places that we would not have discovered alone. We really enjoyed the tour and recommend it.
Fantastic tour of the city! Joaquín was super chill and knew a lot about the street art and the history of the city. He also introduced me to some local artists, super cool! Learned a lot, it is very useful if you want to understand more of the environment. Highly recommended!
