We had a fabulous experience with Karl as our excellent guide with a good group of fellow travellers. We tried a variety of interesting food interspersed with some local cultural and historical information. Loved the opportunity to go into the Reading room at the National Library! Highlights included the pea pastizzi and tasting unusual chocolate flavours (Peppered cheeselets, anyone?!)

Generally disappointed with the food content of the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable on the history of Valetta but the food and drink stops were limited. We weren't given any recommendations for dining out in Valetta. We now know there are lots of good places offering interesting food.
Brilliant tour.. lots of local food and a great balance between local history, a gentle walk and great fun with the guide's sense of humour. Small group made it a social event. Highlight the locally made chocolate cafe.
A great way to see some of the local food locations that you would never find without local expertise. Lovely food and drink too
Such an informative tour with so much food!! Absolutely loved it! The guide was really knowledgeable and friendly and with a relatively small group (12 people), it meant that everyone was chatting to each other.
POur tour guide was well-versed with history of Malta, which we found very interesting. The food was average. We thought lunch would be a little more filling. We had a charcuterie board. It seemed that she wasn't as engaged with the people in the group as some other tour guides we've had.
Brilliant, well worth booking. Guide was very knowledgeable and learnt a lot about the history of Malta as well as the food.
We absolutely enjoyed our food tour with Romenia! She was so knowledgeable and informative. The pace was good and we were able to try a great variety of foods. Plenty to make sure no one was hungry. I would recommend this tour and it was a highlight of our trip. We did the 4 hour tour starting at 10:30 am. Don’t eat breakfast before!
Excellent tour with Romina who was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were taken off the tourist path in Valletta to try some amazing local food and drink. Would highly recommend.
This is a must do for anyone coming to Valletta. It introduced us to food and a few places we probably wouldn't have reached.
Very good the guide was excellent and lots of yummy local food to try the walk wasn’t exerting would recommend
Fantastic tour, guide, food and history lesson; good way to see, taste and experience a bit of Valletta if you have a short amount of time.
We had high hopes on our first visit to the island. Incredible history and a compact city made it a very exciting one week stay. The food tour was well timed as it toured the city and allowed us to get our bearings.
The tour was nicely paced and with very tasty food samples. Our guide was Karl and he was fantastic- very knowledgeable about Malta, its history and customs. He took us to all the major sites including arriving just in time for the cannon firing at midday in the Upper Barrakka Gardens. All the food tasting were lovely and of sufficient amount that we didn't need any lunch afterwards
Romina, our guide, was fantastic!! She was smart, funny, full of knowledge and kept our rowdy crew in line. The best part is that this wasn’t JUST a food tour. We learned so much about the history and culture of Valletta and Malta. I can’t wait to return and see more of the city!!
We loved Romina! Learned so much about Malta!! Thank you
Great tour. Lovely to get a feel for Valletta and a little of its history as well as being introduced to the local cuisine. Also catered perfectly for a vegetarian. Highly recommend.
The guide was fantastic, so knowlegable not only about the food, but also about history of Malta. I look forward to return for more.
This food tour allowed us to try several traditional dishes, drinks, and snacks while also being very informative about Malta’s history. Would definitely recommend taking this tour!
Great introduction to Valletta. Our guide was knowledgeable and interesting she was conscious of the extreme heat and tried to keep us as comfortable as possible. Plenty of food at all of the stops
Best day ever. Great food, lots of fun information and a fantastic guide. Couldn’t rate it high enough.
Excellent knowledge from guide with opportunity for questions. No additional costs and copious amounts of food and drink with ampul time to rest and relax.
Fantastic guide who gave us the chance to learn about the island, was very knowledgeable. Plenty of stops to sample local goods and always supporting local places. Highly recommended.
This tour was fantastic. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Lots of food and met some great people on the tour as well. Highly recommend!
A must for anyone visiting Valletta. I really can't recommend enough. Our lovely local guide was so enthusiastic and you could really feel her passion for the city. Food choices and locations were varied and all excellent. We got the history too ! Final rooftop location was the cherry on the cake. Make sure you go with an empty stomach and enjoy 😁
The group was small, Karl was knowledgeable and took us to some hidden gems in Valleta that are locally owned by Maltese families - we would definitely have walked passed these places if doing the tour ourselves! There was plenty of delicious food to try so go with an empty stomach.
We liked a lot about this experience. She knows about Malta and had many things to tell us. She was kind and good with people.
Really interesting tour, learning about some of Malta’s history and tasting the lovely food. Guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. Loads of food, you don’t need breakfast beforehand!
I really wish that this tour covered more about the food of Malta. We did have some taste testing. I expected a bit more than this. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. However I didn’t really need a history tour as well as that was something I did the previous day on a Malta walkibg tour. I would’ve preferred if there was more discussion on food and a good variety.
Great food tour! Our guide was amazing and we got so much history paired with amazing food. Would highly recommend if you enjoy learning and eating.
Excellent 2.5hr tour guiding the group around Valletta with frequent stops to taste local Vallettan and Maltese food and drink. Starting just outside the main city gate we were guided through both main thoroughfares and quieter streets to visit small local Vallettan run restaurants, coffee shop and hostelries to been given a truly delicious experience of the main delights of local food both savoury and sweet, and locally produced wine, beer and Kimmie to drink, with a midday stop at the Upper Barrakka Gardens to experience the firing of the noon gun. This is for anyone wishing to experience an interesting and different tour of Valletta.
My wife and I had a great time on this tour. The various food stops were good with an interesting variety of Maltese fare on offer. You definitely won't be hungry at the end. Karl was a great host and very knowledgeable about Malta and the history and sites of Valletta. We would definitely recommend this tour.
Our guide Karl was so friendly and knowledgeable. We went around in a small group of 6 of us and had an amazing tour showing us the history of Valetta with awesome food. Karl seemed to know the answer to every question we could think of, covering a massive period of history. Would definitely recommend.
This is well worth doing. Great tour guide, great food. Guide talked about the history of malta and its buildings whilst we walked from one food stop to the next. Talked about all the different foods. Huge variety of foods. Loved it. Highlight of the holiday
Nice tour with different food groups and some history thrown in. Tour leader was very amicable. But you still have to fight the crowds.
We had a lovely guide that was very informative and helpful. However we couldn’t believe how poor the food was on the visit. It was very ordinary and easily the worst food experience we have ever experienced and we have done many other walking food tours. Malta food is better than what we experienced.
A great way to see Valletta, learn about the history and enjoy some fantastic food.
The food was traditional Malta cuisines from different places. As we walked, the history and sites were explained so we know what to see in the city. We loved patron in the local businesses. Great food and nice introduction to the city.
Karl was an absolute superstar. He brought Valletta, its history, its architecture and – especially – its food to thrilling, enchanting life. We’ve gone on many walking tours over the years, from the US and throughout Europe and none of them have come close to this phenomenal experience. It is the perfect way to get an unrivaled “taste“ of Malta’s rich culinary tradition. Just GO!!!!!
Our food tour in Valletta with Karl was absolutely fantastic! The combination of amazing historical information and authentic Maltese food made this such a special experience for our family. Many of the dishes reminded us of the food my mother and grandmother used to make, which brought back wonderful memories and made the tour even more meaningful. Karl’s passion, knowledge, and storytelling truly brought the history and culture of Malta to life. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Malta!
Best tour I had in Malta. Very interesting and entertaining. The guide was very helpful and personal insights
This food tour exceeded my expectations in every way. Yolanda, our guide, showcased her extensive knowledge, kindness, and professionalism. The Maltese food and drinks was p
Good variety of foods and great commentary relating the food to the culture.
Grand adventure walking through the old town of Valletta. Good history from Karl our guide. Wonderful samples of the flavors and beautiful sites in this 500 year old city! Prepare for a long walk and a great time.
It was a very nice food tour that included quite a few treats and snacks and a nice lunch at the end with a drink of your choice.
Karl, who grew up in Valletta, was such an insightful guide. Lots of stories and explanations. Enjoyable tour and met other interesting travelers from California, New York, and Australia.
Karl was very knowledgeable not just of Malta but the world. Very good tour really enjoyed it. Highly recommend.
Excellent tour. Really friendly guide. Learned lots about the history of Malta, got tips about places to visit for the rest of our stay and as for the food......there was so much! Not just little bites like on most tours, this was full snacks , drinks and finished with a full meal. All excellent from lots of local places that you could easily just walk past. Make sure you arrive hungry!
Outstanding tour. Chris was our guide and shared so much about Malta and Valletta explaining so many different foods. We also got to see some of the key sites of the city. The pace was also perfect, with plenty of stops where we were able to sit for a while (usually while eating!) and opportunities to use restrooms. We loved some of the places we were shown and went back later on our holiday to enjoy them again. Chris explained that they keep the tour numbers low, meaning everyone was able to participate and ask questions as we went along. We have not done any other tours with Chris, but plan to return to Malta next year and will be booking with him without question. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thanks Chris!
A great experience with great food. I would definitely recommend this tour. The female tour guide I cant remember her name but she was fantastic.
