Our guide was Ninka, she was very well organised and gave a lot of historical and cultural detail. The boat trip was great and the streets we walked through were picturesque.

This was a very strenuous activity. A late start took away the brunch/lavatory break. The uphill climb to the bus at the first stop caused us to leave the tour early. Not a happy camper
This tour started badly as the bus was over 20 minutes late. The tour was interesting and the guide enthusiast and knowledgeable however as she was addressing 2 different languages in the group it took her twice as long to describe/explain each stop and hence a lot of time was spent waiting. The boat cruise was shorter than expected with no guide and again as each boat only took 6 we waited to get on and again once we got off to gather the group. We were disappointed at the huge amount of time spent waiting around in the already shortened tour due to the late start.
This was an excellent well organized tour from pick up to drop off. Knowledgeable, engaging guide that struck the all important balance between talking and looking! Lovely boat trip, manageable group size and built in comfort stops given the heat. Most enjoyable, many thanks.
Lots of walking but a great tour. Dominic was easy to understand and follow. Very informative and educational tour
Very interesting and informative tour. Guide was very knowledgeable. A vast area covered by foot and boat.
Well organised with a great guide- Mirabelle and most interesting . Malta i a must. The people make you feel most welcome.
Confusion over meeting point (given multiple changes) so had to contact provider. Large group (40) limited motorbility of some slowed the group. Motorised boat trip was an 'add on' with an uncommunicative boatman. Information no provided regarding end of tour arrangements. Met up with other groups where chaotic allocation was made for minibuses to various hotels. Had we been told this whilst down in cin the harbour we wouldn't have climbed up to the buses, we came back down to walk back to Birgu rather than wait for a disorganised lift.
We were disappointed with the tour guide. In spite of her having a microphone and speaker, most people could NOT hear what she was saying. If you were more than 2 m away you did not hear what she said. We were told to 'move closer' to hear. Hard to do with a group of 40+ people. When she stopped to talk, she did not wait for the group to gather round before starting to talk. In fact, she was talking while people were still getting off the bus. People left the tour early because they couldn't hear what was being said by the guide - group members were disgruntled and we shared our thoughts with each other . Stories about Maltese family/student life were not relevant to this tour. The small boat tour in the Grand Harbour was the highlight of the entire tour.
A boat tour of the Three Cities is one of those quintessential Malta experiences and definitely worth doing. Our tour began with a guided walk down to the Grand Harbour, followed by a short break before boarding the boats. From the water, you get a great perspective of the cities. I had worried the ride might be turbulent, but the water was calm and the ride smooth. One downside is that once you’re on the boats, the group is split into smaller groups of six, separate from our guide. The quality of the experience then depends on the boat operator. I noticed one operator engaging their group, but ours was silent throughout—so it felt more like a boat ride than a tour. That said, our main guide, Josephine, was informative, energetic, and really made the overall experience worthwhile.
Fabulous tour with a very informative guide. Elizabeth was very knowledgeable, and kept everyone engaged
On time, well organised, great commentary and variety. Walking, bus and boat. fabulous tour. We learnt a lot in a short time. A must do, in Valletta.
This is one of the most standout tours we’ve done while travelling thanks to our guide Donna. Donna’s passion for all things Maltese was evident from the get-go. She was informative without being long-winded, was funny without being cheesy, and did a good job of keeping our group under control without sounding like a primary school teacher. The tour itself was fantastic value for money and the three cities absolutely beautiful.
Our tour guide Donna had excellent English and gave us interesting information…we have done about 4 tours while in Malta and Donna was the easiest to understand… There are a few steps but the tour covers a lot… We also loved the cruise around the grand harbor…
Educational and informative. Loved the harbor cruise. Just missed the Gun Battery firing by minutes.
Lots of people booked and picked up in different buses but then divided in to language groups with specific guides
Loved every bit of it! It was the perfect mix of guided tours and free time. Plus, the cities themselves are just stunning—Spain never disappoints!
We really enjoyed our walking tour of the Three Cities. John our guide was both very informative and entertaining. There was so much history to learn about and the traditional boat trip around the Grand Harbour was quite exciting! We would do this tour again.
Really well organised trip. I missed the name of our guide, but she was excellent. Very interesting tour around the cities and then a brilliant ride around the harbour in the little traditional fishing boats. Can highly recommend.
A lovely way to explore the Three Cities and gain an understanding of the history of the area. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and interesting and the boat trip offers another perspective. A very enjoyable experience.
Nice walking tour , intetesting things to see , Rita was a good guide , and everything was well organised
It was great! Specially with Julia the guide in Spanish! It was interesting, dynamic and well organized.
Had to cut the tour short, as we asked the tour guide of we would be back to our ship on time and she deeply doubted it...so we took the harbor boat back to the area to get the shop. Disappointed
Our guide, was knowledgeable and personable, we had a lovely day learning about the history of Birgu
Say YES to going to Malta’s Three Cities and say YES to the lovely harbour tour. This location is such an interesting, historical and gorgeous part of this country. Say NO to traveling with this tour company. What a frustrating, inefficient, unorganized, wasted day! Take a private or small group tour to this area. Pickup at 8:30AM at area hotels. Taken to a central bus lot where confusion reigned…who spoke what language?, who was going with which tour guide?, who came from which hotel?, where were the guides?, and repeat these questions over and over every time another van/bus came. Almost 1.5 hours later at 9:53AM, the five English speakers who had been asked to sit and stay together were combined with a very large French speaking group which meant ½ of the tour time was wasted with the dual language repeats. The large group was unwieldy and the guide lost part of the folks several times with really unclear directions. The guide was obviously overwhelmed as during the tour and at various points of key logistics, she asked the same questions repeatedly. She had a list but her notes must have been useless as she frustratingly confirmed the same info multiple times (language choice, hotel location, number in party which were all on the list!). The noise level at times was unbearable as a subset of the French speakers talked at full volume during the English portion. Fortunately the sights were lovely but this tour as structured is a disaster.
Excellent tour Great insight Would recommend beware it does involve a lot of walking 👍 The bonus of getting picked up from my hotel in St Paul’s too.
Once the tour started it was most enjoyable, but there was a lot of waiting around and confusion regarding pick ups. The best part was the harbour boat tour. The Guide was good, and the history was fascinating and she explained that really well. Thank you
The guide did not chat between the sights and used a speaker and not headsets for the participants meaning she could not keep a good commentary going. The boat trip split the party on 3 boats with very little information provided by the boatman…..who should have been provided with a cheat sheet. Finally there was confusion at the start when one of the 3 guides was late due to a traffic accident and the guide who was there did not explain what was happening….I actually called the tour organiser to find out and I informed the rest of the tour.
The worst tour operator I have ever used !! I left my hotel to go to the meeting point 1 hour prior to the start of the tour. When booking a tour in Valetta, many tour operators offer hotel pick ups at various locations as it is hard to drive into the old city. 1 hour prior prior to the tour, I started calling this booking agency to tell them I cannot find the office they indicated as a meeting point. Their google map links that they kept sending me, were useless links, kept taking me back to the starting point, yet the tour operator would not accommodate us with another pick up location, like the Phoenician Hotel, Grand Hotel, at the ferry port, or other, they would not put me in touch with the driver to arrange an alternative pick up location, all together, they could not care less if you find the meeting point or not. PS the agency did not even offer the tour for the next day to make up for the bad links that did not help us find their office. I travel a lot, I have never had such a poor and indifferent service, on an island where otherwise the hospitality was quite pleasant. When booking tours with this agency, BE CERTAIN you have alternative plans, as you too may be left behind, with no touring plans. Terrible, rude and inhospitable experience.
The tour was wonderful. Our guide was one of the most pleasant guides we have had. She was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and proud of her heritage. I cannot recommend this tour enough. Not to be missed!
The harbour cruise was definitely the highlight of this tour it was great to admire the coast of the harbour from the boat which is magnificent. Unfortunately after the cruise we were waiting for the last of the group to return from their boat ride when we suddenly realised the group was gone and we had to make our own way back. The tour guide didn’t bother to count to make sure he had everyone with him.
Of the 4 hours 2 were spent collecting and returning people. In my group the guide had to say each thing in English and then repeat it in Italian so there was not much information disseminated.
Our guide was excellent - sorry, I didn't catch the lady's name. This tour was well worth going on as it covered the three cities and also took us out on a small boat which was great fun. We just happened to be there in time for the 4pm cannon shot from Valletta and were able to see all the people lined up to watch. The architecture here is amazing and the only downside to this trip is the amount of stairs to climb - so watch out if you have mobility issues.
It was well organized tour…we toured the Three Cities by boat.. so much history. We really enjoyed the day.
I enjoyed the boat ride. Price is maybe a bit high for what you get, compared to other tours, but transportation from the hotel is appreciated.
We liked the boat tour of the harbor and the rotunda church. Our guide elena was articulate, eager to answer questions, and attentive to needs of individuals. Excellent tour.
This tour got too many people and we kept waiting for the late ones ! The bus didn’t arrive at the right time . The guide was average and couldn’t find her words in English sometimes ! It’s too expensive for what it is.
Elena our tour guide was lovely but I feel there are better ways to explore Malta as we previously went on the Boat trip to Blue Lagoon and Gozo which is a full day and cheaper than this trip and was way more enjoyable.
Spare yourselves 35 euros. It was not worth it: The guide was not quite fluent in English, the explanations provided were too basic, not involving enough. The guide did not manage or engage with the group. Too many people, too many breaks and idle moments. These could have been used for more explanations about the three cities. We do not recommend this tour
The Three Cities tour was well worth while and Charles was a great guide! There were plenty of picture stops and lots of information to try and remember! The highlight for us was the harbour boat tour (even if we did have to wait a while for the boat to arrive)! This tour is great value for money and is a must whilst in Malta.
Enjoyed the Three Cities .. a lot of interesting facts about the Knights of St . john .. Our guide , María was very nice …
A good balance of experience and information, but let down by confusion and disorganisation over the hotel pickup. The driver didn't have our correct name, so 30 minutes were lost. I therefore wouldn't use Viator again.
Great way to see cities and understand history! Guide was very good and she led group around landmarks at a goo pace. Only negative was boat I was in for harbour tour didn't interact with his passengers.
Great guide, really informative tour, and really impressive pick up options with the busses (they even offered to pick up outside the Mdina city gates!) There was also time to eat lunch and personalize the tour at the very end.
The tour guide, Novca, was very knowledgeable. The pace of the walking was perfect as it was 34degrees! She altered the route a couple of times so that we didn’t clash with other groups. A super boat trip around the harbour. Well worth doing
The waking part of this trip & guided tour was incredible and was well worth the trip alone. The boat trip however I was not happy with. The boats were not stable. (Nearly tipped over when we initially got in) When we went the harbour was not flat calm and a little choppy. No life jackets at all (or we weren't told where they were) but the boat was so small if it tipped you wouldn't get chance to put it on. Other trips i did on the Island (blue hole - Gozo) life jackets were mandatory. This will be enforced when something happens (to late in my opinion).
Our guide was good but the tour took too much of its time with arrangements for boats etc so that we saw very little of the area. On the harbor tour the boatman didn’t speak English to explain what we were looking at and where were the 10 creeks?
Harbour boat trip was excellent. Guided tour also very good but total time shorter than anticipated.
Our guide Donna was fabulous, giving our group lots of historical and cultural information. The boat trip was great, allowing us to see all three cities from below the walls. If you have time, this trip is well worth doing.
The pick up from the hotel was on time and very smooth and organised. When we arrived at the place where we were introduced to our wonderful guide Danielle. She worked very hard that morning, as first there were 2 people that hadn't realised they'd booked a walking tour (and couldn't walk very far), then there were 2 that hadn't arrived, so there seemed to be a lot of waiting about before the tour actually started, as Danielle was kindly arranging the bus to take the couple with walking disabilities to a suitable spot to join the tour. Then she chased about up and down stairs trying to locate the other two people. When we finally got started, the tour was really good. Danielle was very informative, funny and extremely professional. The others finally joined us about halfway through the tour. The boat trip was a good part of the tour, as it was good to see the buildings from the sea, (thank goodness for calm sunny weather). All in all the organisation was great, and Danielle worked her socks off to ensure everyone booked had the best possible experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the morning.
