The boat trip in Diwari was something unexpected it- if I had known the sea was so rough I would not have gone because I get seasick guests must be informed properly in advance and be advised of an alternative. The included meal was mediocre . Our guide was good and Vitoria and the Citadella were great as was the archeological site at Girganti . More archeology better food otherwise don’t include it why not local delicacies or even tasty snack food . A good overview of Gozo

Pick up went well ,but once we got to the ferry it was chaotic to say the least. The allocated rep we felt did.not engage with her audience and throughout the whole trip we.felt herded like cattle. The food provided was very poor.and there was.no provision for vegetarian. Also wine was.provided.however we didn't know what we were drinking as this was decanted into unlabelled bottle. Water was.not provided and.had to.be paid.for (4 euros) which based on cost.of trip not fair on non drinkers. We would not recommend trip to others.
Pretty average English speaking tour. Some queuing and waiting for the ferry both ways but not too bad. Trip stops on Gozo - two out of the four were interesting: Victoria (Rabat) and the Ggantija temples were worthwhile and the lunch was meh. Our guide Celine was very knowledgeable and had a lot of good info to share. The bus driver Chris deserves a medal for negotiating the Gozo roads without incident.
The guude was knowledgeable and excellent. the lunch could have been better. I would have preferred to pay for my own lunch and not included.
brilliant day tour of wonderful island ,made special by our our guide whose knowledge and personality shone through. thursday april 24th 2025. Brian and family.
Very interesting island. A bit of queuing to get on the ferry at both ends of the tour. Tour leader a bit hard to understand sometimes.
Well organised, there was a separate transfer from Valletta for a few of us and the tour started at the ferry. Due to the nature of the route and locations, we did spend quite a lot of time travelling on the bus and I wish we had at least some free time to explore on our own in some of the sites. Our guide Tracey was amazing - very very kind and attentive, super knowledgeable and truly tried to connect with people from the group.
The trip was great value and well led by Olivia who had to cope with us losing an hour due to a ferry issue. She was friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable.
Group too large Tour guide seemed disorganized Viator did not relay our request for vegetarian lunch, was served potatoes and cole slaw, restaurant did not accommodate our request, tour guide did not help, lunch was also too late (2:30pm) Restaurant had only one toilet for each gender Felt rushed and not able to enjoy the sites, which were good, to the fullest
I thoroughly enjoyed this day trip from Malta. Getting on and off the ferry was extremely chaotic and stressful. But the rest of the tour was very well managed and thoroughly enjoyable. I had read some reviews about the lunch option being poor but the lunch was excellent with 3 courses, red and white wine and water all included.
The tour guid Ragina rushed us and we couldn't enjoy it. Put us on the wrong bus twice. So not worth it, your better off going yourself
I've read the reviews by others and my wife and I don't understand the overwhelming 5 stars. We booked Gozo by mistake after googling "best hotels in Malta"! OK, our mistake. My wife and I like city centres and are real foodies, so this will influence heavily on this Review. She is 51 and I'm 63 which must be relevant also. We were booked in the Duke's Hotel, which is excellent by the way and the staff very attentive. So now to the Island itself. First, the food. No-one on this island can cook so don't bother searching for "best restaurants in Gozo" because you'll simply be very disappointed, but at twice the price as somewhere else not on your search list. However, Duke's do a truly excellent breakfast (but not dinner) so apart from that eat at McDonald's. Second, Victoria the capital. Very tiny; very loud for its size; architecture nothing to write home about apart from of course the Citadel; grubby and unmaintained, but impeccably clean (as is the whole island). Unlike the noise, things to do are very much on the quiet side. There's just no 'buzz' to the place whatsoever. We arrived at 10:45 and we were told nowhere would be open to get something to eat - or drink. We were told by our receptionist that this was because everyone gets up at 5am! Not much used to tourists if everyone is tucked up in bed by 10 (I exaggerate). Thirdly, the roads. Not nearly as dangerous as one Reviewer has described. But we agree most of the roads haven't received attentin since WWII; there are many sudden turns and hair-raising hairpin bends. Most of all, the standard of driving on the island is awful so be prepared for everyone just to ignore you as if your car is invisible. Pedistrians too just wont move off the road out of the way, so be preared also to have human offal all over your front bumper. When I picked up my hire car I refused it because it was absolutely battered all over, like a banger racer. After being here I understand why; most other cars are equally as battered. The one good thing is that nowhere is more than 10 minutes away. To find somewhere with a pulse we got the ferry to Malta and drove the 55 minutes to Valletta. Unlike one Reviewer's opinion, we found Valletta perfect for us, in fact we thought it the best place we've ever been to on the entire Med and continental Europe. (We are very seasoned travellers.) It has everything - great food, great architecture, great history, good museums and an absolutely super-buzzy nightlife. So much so that we did an impromptu overnight stay at a hotel without even a toothbrush between us. We met up with a small group of French and Italians and sung top hit pop songs together all night to accompany the one man band playing. Brilliant! If we can thank Gozo for anything it is that we discovered Valletta!
Naomi coped well with the very busy port and with managing a large group. Good knowledge. Good lunch. Ideal trip for a snapshot of Gozo.
A mixed day. The ferry over to Gozo was chaotic. We had to queue for ages to get onboard with little explanation from the guide. The stop at the temple was too brief. There wasn’t even time to look at the museum, we marched straight through it. There was a pointless stop at Dwerja to look at the Blue Window, a natural feature arch of rock, with no boat tours running. The tour stopped there for a pointless half hour. Lunch was terrible at Sea Shells. It was a disgusting fixed menu of soup/pasta, chicken/omelette and the only edible bit was the ice cream for pudding. The guide didn’t even eat with us, likely eating decent food elsewhere. The afternoon got better after that with a stop in Victoria where we had free time. Overall a long day with not a lot achieved. and a truly disgusting lunch! You don’t need an organised tour to visit Gozo. Next time I wouldn’t book one and would just do it myself via public transport!
Saw a number of sights but it was all rather rushed - it would be good to extend the time spent on Gozo by 2 hours and accept a later return time. In particular we wanted to spend longer at the Ggantija temples and the Cittadella. Our guide and drivers were good and the tour was efficiently run.
Perfect day out, great insight into Maltas history and culture. Driver and guides were very informative and really cared. A huge thank you!
In my opinion, waiting for the ferry should not be included in duration time or at least some information (about Malta, its history or anything else) should be given. That took too long. We didn't stop at one stop (cliffs/cave one) and spent half an hour in some market (to buy something). The missed spot was a loss. The inner sea was the highlight of the tour for me. The lunch was average.
The guide (Rita) is knowledgable, but did not show abilities to handle/ manage a group. She missed some of the participants in every point-Than wasted time to look for them. Therefore had to rush in the next point. She did not explain what is going to happen next-and participants were confused. Though some participants had walking/ climbing difficulties, she did not inform of a possibility to use a lift.
Booked a trip for 3. Got a confirmation from Viator. They cancelled the morning of the event citing no space. Couldn’t even accommodate one out of 3 people. At that point all other tours were sold out. Avoid!
Great Historical and prehistorical visit Guide Josilyn is very good guide Bus was comfortable All trip was well organized and in time Great way to spend vacation
The places visited are wonderful, particularly the cost and Neolithic temple of Ggantija, but there are too many long stops where there's nothing to see. For instance, for lunch we stopped 1h and a half, rushed through a very poor lunch (and with so much food waste) and then were left next to a tiny beach with a few shops. Also we stopped for around a half an hour only to enter a local artefact shop, things that we had a chance to purchase also at the final stop in Victoria. Besides, the stop in Gganija temple was too short and the tour guide provide inaccurate outdated information about the site.
Good way to see a lot of the island in 1 day, I would normally like to look round things for a bit longer but in the heat this was just right. Tour guide was great and transport all good. Lunch at the restaurant let the tour down however. The food was not great but the worst bit was the restaurant charging €2 for a tiny bottle of water. Disgusting behaviour to try and rip off the tour guests. Their menu downstairs shows they only charge €1.20 normally. Should have been free with lunch anyway. I would much rather have paid less for the tour and grabbed lunch somewhere else myself.
The tour was good. However, at the end we had to choose between seeing the cathedral and visiting the last site. I would prefer both being included. Giving time to visit the cathedral after which the last site could be visited too. On my way back to the Cathedral I lost the way so missed to visit the Cathedral since it was closing time when I got there. Thanks Matilda
We were rushed around the only historic site yet wasted time in local shopping sites. The lunch was very poor with service to match. After getting back to Malta we had to wait for next ferry as due to lack of organisation not all passengers had caught the same ferry.
The rudest driver ever experienced picked us up and yelled at me when I asked to confirm it was the Gozo trip and then yelled on the phonebfor an hour on the way to the ferry. No guides in sight, nothing. Then other busesbshowednupbandbdisgorged more than 50 people who were all on this tour. One lone woman appeared to be our guide and we all just stood there for 30 minutes without a word from her. I finally asked if she was the guide and what were we doing and she said we were waiting for another bus and we would all take the ferry together for our tour . I asked when we would get back to Valletta and she thought around 7 as long as we didn't miss the ferry. We got in a taxi and went back. This would have been torture. Best avoided
A very good tour, despite the bad weather. Our guide made her best to keep us motivated. We gave seen many interesting places in a day! Thanks Dobka!
Very neat trip and great way to explore Gozo if you do not have a rental car. A little disorganized at the beginning as the driver left us at the ferry terminal and did not say where we were supposed to go.
Very good trip, well organised. Gigantua and citadel a highlight. Guide and driver very good. Only downside is poor food at restaurant, but what we expected
Good, varied itinerary covering a neolithic temple site, craft centre, lunch (with wine!), a gorgeous coastal spot and the main city (squares & citadel), felt like you'd seen a lot of the island. Very pleasant, personable & interesting guide, good drivers, easy booking process and excellent post-booking communication from Michael. Lunch quite basic, and the ferry not very glamorous but overall a very good day and a good sized group - would definitely recommend.
Excellent guide, beautiful place, good trip overall. Waiting for the ferry, frustrating. Long drive to the ferry. Waiting for the ride back. Waits every where longer than sightseeing and dampened the experience somewhat. Too big a group. Could have used the fast ferry from Valletta!
A great day trip to Gozo, in which we were able to see the main highlights in one day! A lovely intro to Gozo, with an added bonus being a trip to Victoria and the Citadel which is not included in many alternative tours available
Great day. Yes, it was a manic coach trip but we got to see so much of the island without much hassle. Local guide was good, pick up from hotel in Valetta included (and good communication from the organisers). More walking than some had imagined but then it is a hilly place. If you've only got a day to fit in a Gozo trip, then I would recommend doing it this way rather than on the cheap and wasting time waiting for buses etc.
It was an excellent day with a very good guide. Gozo is also a beautiful island. Totally recommended for everyone!
There was a lot of bang for the buck. Our tour guide was a native Maltese lady who was terrific. The pickup to ferry perfect and the short ferry ride fun. Nice bus touring lovely Gozo sites. Just enough time. Good lunch. At ferry we opted to take the new Go Fast boat back to Valletta which is 1st class and only 45 minutes. I think it was 7 or so Euros and well worth it
Our guide Celine was very personable, informative and bubbly personality. She did a great job informing the group in French & English. Little boat ride (€4) through Azore Window/cave was delightful. Busy but good day out. Cheers
Not Covid compliant; no social distance restrictions in place on the bus and Mask wearing not enforced, leaving me to ask another traveller to put her mask back on, much to her disgust. At the lunch table instructed that had to sit with another couple from the coach party, despite there being facility to socially distance all relevant couples or single travellers on their own lunch tables. Bread baskets and wine had to be shared by whole table. Tour guide was lovely and very knowledgable, content of tour was very good, but could not make up for lack of covid enforcement and compliance. Let’s hope we don’t get ill.
Very good. We had a guide for italian, Ms Luciana, she was very helpful and the visit was fully according to the program. The lunch was simple, healthy and good. Highly recommended
We leave the Cirkewwa dock at the westernmost point of the island. Traveling 25 minutes by ferry to the port in Mgarr, the main port of Gozo. On the shore you can see comino, another island of the archipelago of Malta, (which we did not visit) where only a small community with less than thirty inhabitants lives. Arrival to the island of Gozo, the second most important island of the archipelago, known for its natural landscapes with a rural charm, historical heritage and megalithic temples. The beauty of the island is so, they say it will have been this beauty, to inspire Homer, and describe in his work Odyssey, as his nymph Calipso, will have retained Ulysses for seven years, seducing him on this paradise island.
Tour (CIVITATIS provided by Maltarama) well organized with guides for different languages. The time lost due to traffic inconveniences has been largely recovered. The guide in Italian (Bernadette) gave a historical and architectural perspective on Gozo and beyond. It also exhausts the sociological aspects. The places visited are wonders not to be missed, of course, if you are guided you will understand them better. Lunch is acceptable. Advised ..
A tour that is really worth it. When visiting Malta, a detour to the neighboring island of Gozo is recommended. The crossings are quite quick. You get a good overview of Gozo. If you are interested in more, a tour is recommended. Early in the morning with the ferry over and with the hop on hop off buses you can reach every point on the island.
The tour was very nice. You're well entertained. The individual stages were sometimes very crowded. It was a bit much for us in the end. But to explore the island quickly and guided very well. Our tour guide was also excellent.
Guidance Luciana very professional and to give good information! Citadel should have more time to visit. The cathedral was not included but worth a visit. The boat ride was wonderful. Lunch is simple. In general the tour very well organized and with an excellent guide.
