With an impressive 150 metre height, Ta' Ċenċ Cliffs are the tallest cliffs in Gozo. The area surrounding the promontory is a Natura 2000 site, full of protected biodiversity that marvels its visitors. Naturalists will be excited to hear that the area is dotted by garrigues and steeps ready to be explored. Additionally, the cliffs are an important Bird Area, home to many shearwaters. To familiarise yourself with the area, you can go on a walk around the cliffs of Sannat, and admire the different geological layers of the cliffs. Besides the breathtaking views, visitors can look for archaeological remains of megalithic temples and cart ruts too!
Xlendi Bay is a picturesque and popular seaside destination known for its dramatic cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and quaint charm. Originally a tiny fishing village, Xlendi has evolved into a bustling small resort that attracts both tourists and locals throughout the year.
Two 16th century well-preserved public washhouses built by the Knights of St John may be seen on either side of Spring Street in the village of Fontana. The larger one is locally known as the Ghajn il-Kbira meaning the ‘large spring’. The smaller one is Ghajn Bendu, ‘Bendu’s Spring’.
Have you ever heard of a stunning place called Dwejra? Well, if you haven’t, you’re in luck! In this ultimate guide to some of Malta and Gozo’s most spectacular locations, I will be taking you through a typical visit to Dwejra Bay, and we’ll be letting you in on all its secrets, gems, wonders, and, ultimately, how you can make the most out of your trip.
Fungus Rock, sometimes known as Mushroom Rock, and among the Maltese as Il-Ġebla tal-Ġeneral, is a small islet in the form of a 60-metre-high massive lump of limestone at the entrance to an almost circular black lagoon in Dwejra, on the coast of Gozo, itself an island in the Maltese archipelago.
The Inland Sea, sometimes called Qawra in Maltese and also known as Dwejra, is a lagoon of seawater on the island of Gozo linked to the Mediterranean Sea through an opening formed by a narrow natural arch.

Wied l-Għasri, the Għasri Valley, is a marvellous place for a country walk or bike ride, especially in winter and spring. L-Għasri Valley is a deep gorge-like valley with very high cliffs carved into the Lower Coralline Limestone and the overlying Globerigerina Limestone.

As you stand amidst these enchanting landscapes, envision terraced fields stretching to the horizon, adorned with a mesmerising mosaic of glistening white salt crystals. Imagine the island's earliest inhabitants crafting these ancient salt pans, visionaries driven by a deep respect for their land. Bay in Gozo
Marsalforn (Pronounced: Mars al-Forn, | Maltese: Marsalforn),[1] also written as M'Forn for shortcut purposes, is a town on the north coast of Gozo, the second largest island of the Maltese archipelago. The town lies between the hilltop towns of Xagħra and Żebbuġ. Associated with this town there is also the bay of Qbajjar. The town is part of the Żebbuġ local council. Marsalforn is one of the most popular tourist resorts on Gozo. It is well served by hotels, guest houses, restaurants, bars, and beaches. There is only a small sandy beach in Marsalforn. However, along the rocky coastline there are a number of interesting swimming spots.
The Blue Lagoon in Malta stands out as one of the most beautiful locations among the Maltese Islands. It is a must-visit destination when exploring the small Island of Comino, known for its clear waters and stunning beauty. Malta's Blue Lagoon is famous for being one of the most beautiful beaches, making it a top attraction for families, couples, or friends to enjoy or unwind in this sought-after destination. In winter weather permitting you will have viewing, in summer you will have a swim stop
Explore the stunning caves along Comino Island, the smallest island on the Maltese archipelago. The Comino Caves, famous for their beauty and impressive formations, are a must-visit destination on any boat trip. Carved by soft limestone, these caves stretch over 40 meters and offer a stunning experience in the crystal-clear waters surrounding the island.
The hidden gem of Crystal Lagoon on Comino Island is just a 10-minute walk from the famous Blue Lagoon. Located on the smallest island in the Maltese Archipelago, it boasts crystal-clear waters, which provide a peaceful escape without the usual crowds. Accessible only by boat, kayaking, or even swimming, this is a perfect spot for cliff diving, snorkelling, hiking and exploring the sea caves.

Amazing experience with Marco and Mark. Incredible nice, patience And informative. Two people who are passionate about the job
Self Drive Buggy Tour. You’d be better off renting a buggy for a fraction of the price and using Google map to find the way and get info about each stop. We paid €195 for this tour and got about 2.5 hours actual driving of the buggy. You can rent one for €70 for 6 hours. I am a tour guide in another country and I am shocked by how little they told us about each site. Just told us the name of the place and said we have 15 mins to walk around. I had to get any info online. The worst part was when we first arrived on Gozo they put us in a van and left us there for an hour. It was probably 50 degrees in the van. No a/c on. After 20 mins we all got out to get some air and asked the driver what was happening and why we weren’t leaving. He said we had to wait for some people and he didn’t know how long. It was over an hour wait so our tour was cut short by an hour and we weren’t compensated. There was also no communication about this whatsoever. It would have been nice to have someone tell us what was happening and apologize for the wait. We do tours in every c place we visit and this was by far the worst for the money paid. We so wish we had just rented a buggy on our own and not don’t this expensive tour. We would have gotten MUCH more out of it.
A great trip from beginning to end. Very well organised, pickup and drop off excellent. Buggy great fun and saw lots of Gozo. Our guides were great and our ferry to Gozo was excellent, even stopped at the Blue Lagoon to let those who wanted to have a swim. The lunch, included in the trip, was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the trip.
This trip was a really fun day out, made very easy by the well organsied transfers to get us there and back. Mario, our guide, was great!
Great day had by all, great staff, lovely swimming in the sea - it was fabulous.
The guides where absolutely awesome. Count yourself lucky if you get a tour with Mario and Seif. The buggy ride was spectacoular, absolutely a must!
Well worth booking, buggies were fun. Full packed day some lack of communication with transfers with guides at the outset but improved. Take plenty of own drinks if you don't want to spend premium prices at the stop locations. Definitely recommend
This was a great way to see Gozo. It definitely was all day adventure. The communication was good and pick up point was simple to find. The staff was amazing on the buggy tour and the boat part of the day. We highly recommend this adventure. Beautiful sights and so much fun driving on the streets and through the towns in Gozo. The boat part of the tour was exciting and upbeat,
So apparently this company has earned 4.8/5 on Tripadvisor and 4.9/5 on Google. How, exactly, remains something of a mystery to me. My girlfriend and I are frequent travellers (with 20+ flights within the past 12 month) who normally plan everything ourselves, but with only one day available for Gozo, we decided to give Yippee a try. We chose a buggy rather than an ATV, mainly for a little shade from the sun. The problems started before the tour even began. We were given the name of a pharmacy as a pickup point, but no address. Being unfamiliar with the area, we couldn’t find the correct one and nearly missed the tour (being yelled at through the phone by the pickup driver should have been our first clue that skipping this tour might have been the better option). Fortunately, we had a rental car and arranged to meet them at the Gozo ferry instead. The boat ride was rather chaotic, and on arrival the roughly 45 passengers were split into groups in a fairly disorganised manner. We were then put into a van and left waiting for passengers from another boat. In 32°C heat, sitting stationary in a van without air conditioning was hardly an ideal start. Eventually we reached what was essentially a barn housing the vehicles. We were told to pick a helmet from a shelf containing a collection of rather worn and unpleasant-smelling examples. As an inconsequential gesture we were given an extremely thin disposable cap to wear underneath. Then came the actual driving. I have driven ATVs and UTVs in places such as Costa Rica and the Philippines, so I’m certainly not unfamiliar with this type of activity. Unfortunately, the condition of the buggy was genuinely concerning. The steering, brakes and suspension all felt far from what I would consider professionally maintained. We were nevertheless reminded that crashing could result in a €450 charge — which is particularly reassuring when you’re questioning whether the brakes are up to the task. The website advertises a “small convoy”. Ten ATVs/buggies with one or two people in each is, in my opinion, stretching the definition of “small”, and adding to this we did on several occasions meet up with the other “small” groups resulting in some 45-50 people at the same site, including lunch. From fairly early on, my girlfriend and I stopped enjoying ourselves and started wondering how long we would have to endure the experience. We even discussed abandoning the tour if we reached the ferry during the day, but unfortunately that wasn’t an option. Overall, we found the tour extremely uncomfortable and disappointing. I appreciate that people have different expectations, and clearly many customers have enjoyed it — hence the impressive ratings. Perhaps we’re simply not the target audience. But if you value independence, smaller groups and proper equipment, I would think twice before booking this one.
Great day! We had Mark as our guide and he was so informative about the Ireland and interesting stories. Above all when I come over feeling very unwell 10 minutes from the end of tour he took complete control and looked after me until I recovered! Thanks Mark for a great day!
Very good experience, the guide Emilio and Ahmed were very experienced and we enjoyed all the tour.
Lots of fun and a great way to see the island in a day. Keep in mind - this is less of a cultural tour and more of a fun experience. While the guides highlight a few of the stops - there’s little to no explanation of the cultural significance. Which was fine for us since after doing cultural tours the first half of our trip - we were looking for something more focused on fun! Would highly recommend.
Great way to spend the day. Emilio and Ahamid were great hosts. A great way to see the beautiful Gozo.
Was very good, guides taked care pf us all the trip!! Emilio and Ahmed are super!
Everything was great, thank you Emilio and Ahmed.
Using Get Your guide was a very positive experience and due to a flight cancellation we were able to amend our booking easily through the app and message the tour leaders directly. The pick ups from the hotel was a little chaotic and the drivers are a little hit and miss. However Yippee were our tour guides once we arrived at the port and I must say they were excellent and very informative and helpful. The 4x4 buggy experience was enjoyable although I would have to say the buggy we were in was very noisy and because we were at the back next to the engine it was really hot if not uncomfortable at times. The tour was excellent though and each component was well organised and paced well. We loved our guides from Yippee. Overall the trip was value for money and all the family enjoyed the day.
Great value for money with the transfer from Sliema, very easy process. Both the guides were really nice and helpful
Fantastic day from start to finish. Great value for money. Timings from pick up to drop off were all on time and the trip ran like clockwork. The guides on the buggy tour were brilliant, very encouraging and helpful and did not rush you. As a first timer at the age of 65 this was appreciated!!
Excellent day out from beggining to end. A wonderful guide with us all day long, Yannick. My two teens and I enjoyed his knowledge, kindness and humour. Worth the money. A nice way to discover Gozo and on the way back, a 30 minute swim next to the blue lagoon and sightseeing of some caves. Well donc yippee tours!
The actual buggy activity and the stops and the tour team were AMAZING! Gozo was beautiful too… Pick up on time, and the collection the same… What wasn't great… we got left behind in gozo, we had to catch another boat as the first was full… told the tour would wait.. got there, they had gone…..sorted after a call and some confusion.. And the lunch was inedible Was it worth it £80 per person.. yes we think so.
Trying something a little different, we opted to take a tour in this side by side hopeful for a little off-roading. While some of the streets were rough - there was no 4-wheeling. Caleb, our tour guide was great... and for having been in Malta only a few months - he was very knowledgeable. A few warnings for parents taking young ones... first - bring ear phones. Riding in these things are very loud - and I would probably just reserve an actual jeep next time. Also, bring plenty of water. The tour operator should, in my opinion, supple - but yippee does not... and as you may know - Malta is HOT. We did not go to Camino because we had already visited, but it was a nice way to see the landmarks!
Great time and worth every penny. We had a fantastic tour guide also "Emilio" If you are lucky enough to have him look after you for the day then you are in for a treat. He was brilliant with us, very knowledgeable of Gozo Island and a really good laugh. Made the trip perfect.
A very disappointing experience that did not match what was advertised in the tour description at all. Already late departure, because of two latecomers: we had to wait at Mġarr harbour, stuck in the minibus in unbearable heat, waiting for two people who clearly hadn't managed to wake up on time. The rest of the group, who were on time, paid the price for this delay for the entire day. Given the size of Yippee as an operator, arranging separate transport for these latecomers (with reintegration into the group later in the day) wouldn't have been impossible... rather than penalising the whole group for two people's lack of punctuality. On top of that came the safety briefing (necessary, we don't dispute that), and the combination of the two seriously ate into our actual driving time. A ridiculously small amount of actual driving time compared to what was promised: over the whole day, we only actually drove the buggy/quad for around 2 hours. The rest of the time was spent waiting, on overly long breaks, or driving in convoy without any clear purpose. The advertised itinerary was barely followed at all. The tour explicitly promised the following stops: Ta' Ċenċ cliffs (Sannat), Xlendi beach/cliffs/caves, the Knights' Wash Houses (Fontana), Dwejra and its watchtower, Fungus Rock and the Inland Sea (San Lawrenz), Ta' Pinu, Wied il-Għasri, Xwejni salt pans, Marsalforn bay. End result: only 2 to 3 actual stops out of the 9 advertised (Ta' Ċenċ, Dwejra, the salt pans). Every other site was driven straight past, with no stop and no explanation — I barely caught a 3-second glimpse of the Knights' Wash Houses while driving by, without even knowing what it was until I recognised it afterwards on the itinerary. Breaks that dragged on far too long, which only made the initial delay worse: the stop at Dwejra, which could easily have been shortened, lasted nearly 50 minutes. Same story for the lunch break, advertised as 40 minutes on the itinerary but stretched to around 50 minutes as well. With the delay already accumulated at the start, it became simply impossible to stick to the advertised schedule: a knock-on effect that ruined the whole day, when a simple logistical solution could have avoided it from the outset. And to top it all off, an early return: although the return was scheduled for 4pm, the buggies/quads were handed back as early as 3:40pm: so not even the full advertised duration, despite all the time lost waiting around and on overly long breaks. In summary: departed late due to poor handling of latecomers, returned early, and most of the advertised stops simply skipped along the way. The advertised commercial offer bears no resemblance to the actual experience. You pay for a full, detailed itinerary and end up with a fraction of the programme, two hours of actual driving, and completely inadequate time management despite obvious logistical solutions that could have prevented it. I cannot recommend this tour as it currently stands.
Great guide the Canadian Notihing to see but country side Lunch over cooked pasta Really uncomfortable véhicules not enough training to the point one was rushed to hospital Not worth the money and time
We booked a mix of chauffeur jeep and buggies. There were 10 of us in our party. Pick up and drop off at hotel was fine, the organisation at the port was good. It is small great way to see the island. The jeep does get very hot from what we thought was the engine. The guides were good and looked after everyone on our tour. Instructions on the use of buggy’s were good. We had a couple of issues with the buggies, but this was sorted by our guide. My Dad is less able to walk around so he stayed in the jeep while we explored at each stop- but all staff were attentive to his needs especially getting on and off the boat! The boat trip around the caves and the swim at blue lagoon was amazing and much needed after being very hot! Great value for money though. I didn’t care much for the lunch but I am a fussy eater- but the place where we stopped for lunch there was time to buy and eat from the places there. Gozo is a beautiful island and a must see when visiting Malta.
fantastic tour, with quad bikes. our family loved the tour and amazing sunset
Valletta pickup 8am; didn’t start buggy tour until 11! Faster to get the quick ferry direct to Gozo (45min), and don’t bother with the swim stop and blue lagoon as super busy and underwhelming. Confusion at stops as guide didn’t explain timings to everyone, this meant waiting for people.
Firstly the pick up location was different from what was sent on WhatsApp and on the Viator App ,luckily I contacted operator while waiting and they sent a live tracker of the pickup vehicle.we moved around the corner and up 300m to the right location. Many different tours loading onto 2 boats from Malta to Gozo, very badly organised at arrival port, we had to get in another van and were transported to a shed on a farm about 10 minutes away. Again organisation here left a lot to be desired and the toilet facilities were appalling. Eventually we got to drive away in our buggy following a convoy of Quad bikes with a guide leading at the front and one at the back. Driving through traffic the convoy was broken by local drivers and we got cut off and another tour picked us up. The brakes on the buggy weren’t great and stopping suddenly wouldn’t have been possible. We encountered a road closure and one of the quad bikes crashed into the bike in front injuring the girl on the back. There were a lot of stops so we got to see some of Gozo but the obligatory stop at the souvenir shop was a bit too much. The provided lunch went in the bin and we just kept the water. This might sound strange but we actually enjoyed the day, my buggy wouldn’t start after one of the stops and I had to pump the brakes and try the ignition again, this happened on the last 3 stops. If there were some improvements made and a bit better organisation this could’ve been an excellent tour but unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations.
Guides were great, very helpful and accommodating. Transportation to and from the experience was late(40 minutes) and crammed. Lunch was in a dirt parking lot near a beach.
The buggy tour was definitely a highlight of our trip. It stopped at a lot of really cool places and it was a great way to explore the island. The waters were too choppy for us to swim in the blue lagoon, which we were really excited about, so that was a bit disappointing, but overall the tour was beautiful and fun and worth the money. If swimming in the lagoon is your main goal, make sure you check the weather conditions before booking the tour because it changes constantly.
I don’t know, they put us on the wrong tour. Booked it months ahead then they told me a week before the tour it was full. Don’t believe them.
Viator has improved its platform since the last time we traveled in 2023. The communication with the provider were fast and within 24 hrs response. Our Yipee tour was amazing. Our tour guide Joseph was a 5star guide. Extremely safety oriented. Kept all the group guided and organized to prevent any risks of injury. My husband and I are in our “young” 70s and had a blast riding the 2 passenger boogie!! We recommend this tour to everyone who is experienced seeker and history buff…Thank you Joseph you gave us an amazing experience!
Overall the tour was fun - the buggies were fun to drive and we got to see a lot of Gozo but there were some things which could be improved. Firstly, we weren’t sent our pick up location before the tour and so we had to ring the tour operator to ask for this. In the end we had to run to the pick up location and only just made it in time. Secondly, we would’ve liked more information about the sites we saw in Gozo - historical background etc. It didn’t really feel like an actual tour. But we still had fun and getting to swim in the Blue Lagoon at the end of the day was great!
From start to finish, the comms were excellent, keeping us updated with pick up location and times. All connections are extremely well timed, with no hanging around waiting. The tour leader was very knowledgeable, very polite, great sense of humour. The tour itself was well structured with plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the local sights. Would definitely recommend the buggy tour.
This was a great way to travel about the island. Be prepared for the dock to be a little hectic. Lots of people going the same place. But it works out fine :). I’m giving this a 4 out of 5 because lunch is catered to vegetarians only. Which makes it hard for those who are not like us. So you should bring your own water and snacks. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this your.
Roads very narrow. Guide didn’t wait for all buggies to arrive before speaking. Got left behind for 45 minutes
Would have missed our ship if it wasn't here overnight. Place was unorganized and overbooked. By the time we started the tour we were already 2.5 hours in. The tour itself was good. Saw alot and amazing place. But honestly, I would never trust them to get you back in time. Left at 8am. We got back at 6:30pm. They lost a few people along the way. Everything was delayed. Overbooked the trip. Several of us waited around. Then we were bussed again to their shop to get more quads. Nerve racking.
We had a great time just wish the stops were longer. It felt more like a driving trip versus a sight seeing trip.
Overall we would highly recommend. The trip to the boat was fine. The boat an experience and the buggy tour brilliant. There was a lot of hanging around at the ferry terminal on Gozo waiting for other passengers to arrive. Perhaps an hour in total. Buggies easy and fun to drive. Lunch was just a sandwich and some pasta that the guide brought, but it was tasty enough. We stopped at some great locations and the weather was fine. Most importantly we slept in and at the start of the day missed our alloted pick up time by more than ten minutes. We have to say that the company were extremely helpful. Had talked us round to catching the fast ferry (to catch up) but then the driver came back after picking up some other passengers. 100% couldn't be faulted. Brilliant service!!!!
A wonderful day driving our buggy as we followed our guide, Abdul, in his tuk tuk with a family on board. Plenty of stops on the way to take photos and admire the scenery. Abdul explained some of the history and took some excellent photos of us with the sea as backdrop. Abdul ensured we were always behind him and when other vehicles separated us at junctions, Abdul stopped and waited. The meal in a restaurant was tasty. The boat ride back included a chance to enjoy the blue lagoon.
A really awesome day! It started off very disorganized when we arrived to Gozo and definitely took a while to get us sorted and in a van to pick up the buggies- but it was an amazing experience once we were off and running. Our guide did a great job (he was Tunisian, I didn't catch his name) and the boat ride back through the Blue Lagoon was icing on the cake!
This tour was awesome! It takes you to all the highlights of Gozo and using the buggys was a cool way to get around. The guys leading us made us feel very safe guiding us through the streets of Gozo. I had my 8 year old riding with me and she loved this experience! We did not feel rushed at all and felt like we got to see so much. Driving your own buggy was really cool too and they move pretty fast! Do not miss this experience!
Good activity driving buggys around gozo see all of the island ,on road and off road guides very good
Excellent journey from gozo fast ferry was an effort but the driver had alot traffic to deal with the crossing on the boat to Gozo was brilliant and also the buggy we rented was great enjoyed the trip around Gozo the only let down was when we stopped for lunch it was no choices and no coffee but other than it was fantastic.
Lead guide vehicle person was well informed as to the destinations and sites we saw Great sites and destinations on Gozo The vehicles that were used were fine as were the driving instructions
This day excursion was excellent. Everything ran very smoothly and driving in the buggy around the island was a joy. Our guide Saif was knowledgeable and easy to talk to...he did an outstanding job. We both thoroughly enjoyed the whole day...would definitely recommend it.
It was a brilliant experience we went with our 3 children all over 18 and could have their own buggies or quads. Our tour guide Chris was brilliant full of crack and knowledge made it such a fun day. I would definitely be recommending to our friends. Bring a light jacket if going in December as it gets a little nippy in the evening, lunch was gorgeous very traditional food again I can't say anything bad it was a great day.
A fun and memorable way to experience Gozo. Guide was great and very knowledgeable about the whole area. Many beautiful views and photo opportunities.
It was a nice and funny trip. Ouissem and Chris did a great job. The malta food was delicious and the island is very beautiful.
