The tour guide was knowledgeable and the top attractions were a must see! The tour guide was hard to hear, lacked voice projection, and mumbled. I will highly recommend earpieces for everyone. I felt the tour was too long without added value.

Itinerary
Our fantastic tour start at Torres de Serranos, where we will meet to make an introduction of Valencian History, speaking about the old main gate of the medieval wall, the conexion with the Turia River and the diferents walls that Valencia had.
Did you realaized how many palaces have Valencia? We will discovered why so many around Barrio del Carmen...
Known as the "Valencian Sistine Chapel", San Nicolás is one of the most attractive temples in the city, with nearly 2,000 square meters of perfectly restored frescoes that leave visitors breathless. The spectacular paintings that decorate the vault represent the twice the surface area of the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel in Rome. With more than 700 years old, Saint Nicholas, which was already a place of worship in Roman times before being a mosque and a Christian church later, is a clear example of coexistence perfect between a temple with a Gothic structure and a splendid baroque decoration.
It is a surprising Gothic building that puts to Valencia city on the list of World Heritage Sites. It is not easy to see large civil buildings of Gothic architecture, which in our imagination we have more linked to the great cathedrals of central and southern Europe. For this reason, in 1996 the Lonja de la Seda was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This international body justifies the declaration because it is an exceptional example of civil Gothic, and represents the strength of trade in Mediterranean cities during the time of its construction. It was built in just 15 years during the 15th century. We will enter to discover why it was so important with silk.
Built on an old Roman temple that was later a mosque. In the Cathedral of Valencia we observe numerous elements from different periods, from the Romanesque to the Baroque. Construction began in the XIII century, having numerous reforms throughout the centuries we find this monumental building. Did you know that the Holy Chalice is in the Cathedral of Valencia? And that it also houses one of the most important pictorial works of the first Spanish Renaissance? History and art mix in the Cathedral. Its walls and doors also protect treasures as valuable as the Holy Chalice. Many studies think that the Grail of Valencia is the one that Jesus used at the Last Supper. Hence, Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI used this relic in the celebration of the Eucharist on their visits to Valencia. Another of the Cathedral's jewels are the Renaissance frescoes on the High Altar of the Valencia Cathedral, which were rediscovered ten years ago when the baroque vault that covered them was removed.
Basilica and Cathedral in the same square, what a view! what a history! We will finish the tour here but discovering the last important points of our culture.
On Mondays, the stop at San Nicolás is replaced by a visit to Valencia City Hall, whose monumental façade and centuries of institutional history bear witness to the city’s political and social life.

Very relaxing walking tour! Learned a lot about many monuments and history of Valencia! The lighting show in St. Nicholas was amazing!
A very comprehensive historical tour. Our guide, Uriel, was fantastic.
We just visited the Silk Exchange. What a beautiful place. The architecture for this ancient center of commerce was very beautiful. The ceiling in the Consulate of the Sea was pretty spectacular. Only 2€ to wander about. Not a huge place and great for a visit.
Tour operator advised that due to temporary closure of St. Nicolas, they'd substitute the Ceramics Museum. We thought about canceling but didn't. We met Benito, the guide and with 10 others began the tour. He speaks good English and shares tidbits of history, but the tour is not what we expected. Here's why: The Silk Exchange was simply a building. We learned nothing about the silk trade, how the silk was made, why it was a key factor in development of Valencia. We did learn that at some point trees that fed silkworms died from disease and Valencia migrated to the orange trade. Then we moved onto the Ceramics Museum which was just a palace for the nobility with very unfriendly staff. Nothing about ceramics...materials used, how they were manufactured, the importance to Valencia, etc. Just a walk through a historic noble's home. Boring. The Cathedral was the final stop, and Benito did a good job of explaining the architecture and history of the cathedral. The Chalice of Jesus is displayed in one of the chapels and is worth seeing (though in our case there was a mass, so we had to see it from afar). I expect Benito does not like the Silk or Ceramics museums and am guessing he's shared this with Tour Operator. I would have preferred a more historic tour of the city and perhaps we'll look for one on our return.
Benito was a very knowledgeable tour guide. The interesting information made this tour enjoyable. It was a quick 3 hours all within several blocks. .
What an enjoyable, informative tour with a very knowledgeable guide who also showed and told us lots of other things about Valencia during the three and a half hours we spent with her.
Friendly and knowledgeable guide who showed us the main sights but also unique local items throughout our tour
Was very fortunate to have Joaquin as the guide -he was passionate about his history. Saint Nicholas church did not disappoint! The guide makes the tour and if I could rate higher I would!
Paulinowas an excellent guide. He was extremely knowledge and patiently answered the many questions that we put to him. The route of the tour enabled us to see the layout of the city and not just the main landmarks. Paulino pointed out a number of authentic places to eat and to buy genuine ceramic items etc. All in all this was an excellent experience.
This was an extensive tour of the architecture in Valencia with a very knowledgeable guide. It includes entry to the former Silk Exchange, Valencia Cathedral and Saint Nicholas Church. Note: the Secret Food Tour in Valencia goes by many of these same sites with history included (and the food tour is very good as well).
Left in time. Delivered the best knowledge. Super amazing tour guide Great value The best tour ever.
This was a very informative, fun tour! Ferran was the best- very knowledgeable and you can tell he loves what does. The architecture is stunning, and you learn so much more about the significance of the details during this tour. Highly recommended!
I think the tour guide moved at a very fast pace. Although he was very well versed in history of the sites seen, it would have been nicer if he slowed down some so we could all take in the knowledge he was sharing. We felt like we missed some important points and couldn’t appreciate each of the sites.
You need to know that this is a walking tour. I did 6,000 steps in 3 hours. My father who is 81 did know this snd had to skip the tour and just take a taxi home. He was not the only one that left. The guide was phenomenal. St Nicholas church and light show was amazing. When we arrived to the cathedral they denied entry be cause they were having a mass. You would think that viator who does this tour every day would have known this. We didn’t get to see the Holy Grail. All in all not a great tour, but again I think her name Angie for Hungary spoke perfect English and did a great job of pivoting when the Cathedral was closed.
It’s long but very interesting. Lots of churches , all spectacular The old part of Venice is worth seeing Sometimes difficult to understand the guide
A fun tour with lots of religious history, an amazing light show in St Nicholas, a quick trip to Central Market, and a viewing of both a Goya and the Holy Grail in the Cathedral. Jorge was informative and funny.
Benito was extremely courteous and informative. His knowledge of the history of Valencia was impressive.
Nice walking tour of Valencia. Very informative and enjoyable guide. Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Valencia
This walking tour of Valencia was one the very best tours I’ve experienced. Really nicely designed in terms of the route and how much time is spent at each spot. Benito M was knowledgeable and charismatic. He definitely knew the stories to tell to keep us engaged. I highly recommend this tour.
Loved the history our guide provided in just a few hours.
Perfect pace and wonderful sites visited. Guide was knowledgeable, interesting and open to questions. Kudos
Fun tour, very interesting! Might not be fun for tall people, there is a lot of ducking and bending down to avoid the top of the caves.
This was a great tour. Anais our tour guide was extremely informative extremely knowledgeable one of the best tour guys we’ve had and spoke perfect English in Spanish our taxi dropped us in the wrong place and they’re late and they were kind enough to wait for us and hook up with us in the group
Our guide Uriel was fantastic! Very informative without being too detailed. Great personality and ended our tour at St Nicolas Cathedral in time for the Light Show, what a highlight! Highly recommend this tour!
An interesting tour, with a nicely sized group, at a relaxed pace, of some interesting places (with skip the queue entry!) The time we had originally booked was changed because they didn't have enough people to do the tour, so we had to reschedule to a more inconvenient time. Otherwise it would have been a 5 star review.
It’s quite long but very enjoyable, the guide was a local and had extensive knowledge of the area and history also amusing!
We had a great tour. Very fun and engaging.
The guide provided many details about Valencia. Very interesting and informative. Maybe take off the Silk Echange as the tour started to get a little long.
Our guide was knowledgeable and funny! Made the tour super interesting. Definitely worth if you know nothing about Valencia.
If you do only one tour of Valencia make it this one! Joaquin is the ultimate guide. As an architect I appreciated his knowledge of the building types we passed on our way to the three locations we visited as well as all the historical facts he packed into this three-hr long tour. I would gladly have stayed for four!! The group size was perfect (8). It was excellent value for the money. His passion, enthusiasm and knowledge clearly showed. Thank you for a fantastic tour!!!
Paulino was a wonderful guide! Very knowledgeable. I learned so much. St Nicholas cathedral was amazing! The light show is a must see!
The guide did not have a microphone so we could only hear about 20% of what he was saying. I had read and heard some really interesting information about some of the sites we visited but that information was not mentioned during the tour. He was very knowledgeable about many things but somehow the delivery of the information was difficult at times and not engaging. Skipping the lines was nice.
Fantastic tour. Guide was experienced, knowledgeable and friendly. Took us to many very interesting places and explained the history of each.
The tour us to important and beautiful monuments of Valencia. We had an energetic guide who knows a lot about the city and its history and who is also humorous.
Great tour starting at the Serrano towers, and many stops at palaces, the silk exchange, saint nicholas cathedral, central market, and the Valencia cathedral. Not a huge fan of the “light show” at Saint Nicholas, but the rest of the tour was enlightening and a great way to learn about Valencia (p.s. the gargoyles are a must see!)
Plenty of walking but the beauty and quality of the sites is incredible. To see the holy grail and a thorn from the crown of Jesus as well makes this tour so much more. Uriel our guide was very knowledgeable and took great care of us while bringing incredible value with her knowledge and insights.
This was a wonderful tour!. The guide was extremely knowledgeable, the pace was not frantic, he made a point of having us walk in the shade most of the time, and there were several opportunities to sit down. I would happily do this tour again!
Monica was incredibly knowledgeable. She had so much information for us about so many details of the city in its various incarnations from roman to muslim to christian times. We enjoyed all the historical facts as well as the art history content of the basilica and valencia cathedral, the silk exchange, the central market, saint nicholas church and many other structures we passed along the way. It is a lot of walking, but she found us a bathroom at the halfway point and a few places where we could sit down for a bit if needed. We learned so much and Monica was very friendly and a pleasure to learn from. We highly recommend This tour if you want to learn sone history of the city and you enjoy walking around!
This was an outstanding tour through historic parts of Valencia! The Silk Trade building and it's story was very interesting. The Valencia Cathedral was beautiful. However the church of San Nicolas & San Pedro was highlight of the tour. Absolutely stunning artwork and the light show was amazing! A must see for anyone that visits Valencia. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the history of Valencia and our stops and also took the time to answer questions. I would recommend this tour to anyone for three reasons, the knowledge of the tour guides, the ability to skip the lines and communication before the tour started was very good.
Stayed at a little boutique hotel only 8 rooms used the tourist card for transport (brilliant value). It was VERY hot but at chilled pace enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and food. Spent a day at Cathedral and chilling after flight the second day toured the old town. So much culture and beautiful buildings and gardens. Visited the beach and science museum and Serrano Towers. Central food market is amazing. Lucky to have been there on World Cup night one to remember.
Excellent tour! We saw lots of amazing sights in Valencia and the tour guide Paulino was very knowledgeable and friendly. Great introduction to the history and sites of Valencia!
Excellent tour. Found out lots about the sights and Valencia from Paolino. The entrances to the monuments are included which is really good especially on a hot day and you see the long queues waiting in the sun. Highly recommended.
Value was good considering we gained entry to multiple spots we would have had to otherwise wait in line and purchase admission separately for. The tour felt long with a bit of time waiting around that seemed it could have been maximized since there is so much to see in Valencia. We could not hear or understand our guide and left us feeling like we didn't learn much and made the overall experience unengaging. Directions to meetup were unlcear as the meeting point is a rather large area with multiple tours meeting in one spot. We did look frantically for the white sign with blue ribbon and could not find our group and were nearly left behind, along with another group of 3 that was lost too - for a total of 7, or half the group, almost left behind and then started without. Our guide also left people behind in the bathroom after encouraging a stop, then continuing on without the people who chose to use the restroom. Overall, I am happy we went simply for the expedited access, but everything else left a lot to be desired. I was hoping to learn more about the city and the history.
We wanted to get an overview of the city history and sites. Catalina was an awesome guide. She was very knowledgeable about the sites we visited and truly cared about what we were learning and seeing. I highly recommend her and the tour. Was great to skip the lines at all the venues. Highlight was the light show at St Nicholas church. To note - we did the tour on a Sunday so the Central Market was closed. Not a big deal cause we went back another day.
Beautiful and informative tour! Each of the sites were spectacular. City center in Valencia is lovely. Guide was knowledgeable and answered everyone’s questions. It would have been helpful if the guide wore a speaker and we had headsets. At times it was difficult to hear what he was saying at when he turned to whatever we were viewing.
Well done. Our guide was very excellent and gave a great experience. We had a financial issue with our payment since there was a slight itinerary change that had to be resolved the day prior. The tour operator was prompt at taking care the issue with several last minute emails.
We had a great deep dive into the arts, architecture, and history of Valencia. Definitely worth the time and cost! Our guide totally nailed the timings making sure we got in everywhere we needed to at the best possible time (right before the light show, right when the holy grail would be available to see, etc.).
Excellent experience and Catalina was very knowledgeable. Our group was age range 15-75, and everyone enjoyed the tour.
Uriel was a superb guide! She was fluent in English, and had a very deep knowledge of Spanish and Valencian history. Her insights and recommendations are spot on. We would recommend Uriel to anyone wanting this tour.
