My husband and I had a private tour for 2 winery tours/tastings along with lunch. The wines, wineries, and lunch were all fantastic! Our guide Paulius was exceptionally knowledgeable and very attentive during the entire tour. If you’re a food and wine lover who wants an authentic experience in the Utiel-Requena region, I’d highly recommend this tour!

This was a great way to become acquainted with the with the wines of the Valencia region. Paulius is an amazing guide. He's studied the history and flavors of the area and offers a wealth of knowledge. We experienced the history of wine in Utiel Requena from ancient caves and clay amphoras to modern wine making at a family-owned vineyard. A highlight was the chance to experience the new to us Bobal grape and the delicious wine it produces. We also had the opportunity to enjoy lunch (and wine) at an authentic local restaurant.
Paulius was amazing. 2 couples from Brazil and 1 from the U.S. and he kept us all entertained, included in all discussions and he was able to jump from English to Spanish back and forth without hesitation. He helped us discover the Bobol grapes of the region and why they deserve a place on the world stage. Walking through the caves in the moorish village of Requena, we had a wonderful experience of learning how the medieval people lived and drinking some very nice wines. Onward to the vineyard, Vera de Estanas, bought by a family in the 1980’s, who have spent their lives grooming the vineyards and presenting the best of the Bobol grapes. Lunch was a masterful presentation of exquisite wines with Paulius astounding me with his knowledge and training…. He has the superhuman powers of distinguishing wines by being able to detect vintage grapes & quality through nothing more than aroma and taste…. Amazing.
A fantastic tour given by Paulius. We were given an expert tour of the traditional and modern wine making process. Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging throughout. The wines are fantastic with some I've never tried before. All finished off with a fantastic lunch overlooking the beautiful vine covered valley leading up to Utiel. I'd highly recommend taking this tour.
Excellent full day tour of wineries just outside of Valencia. Our guide Valeria was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the wines of Spain. She provided us with a lot more information and detail about the wines and their distinctive differences than most guides usually do. She was both friendly and professional. We enjoyed the tours and the excellent lunch, however having Valeria as our guide definitely kicked it up to a 5 Star experience. It was well worth the $$$.
One of the best tours we’ve taken EVER!! Paulius and his wife are both trained sommeliers with a unique knowledge of the region. Turns out it was just my friend and I with Paulius for the entire day. Paulius took us to Requena first where he walked us through some of the history. Afterwards he led us through the wine tasting comprised of a cava, and white and red wines paired with chocolate. The second winery was at Utiel where he showed us around the grounds before leading us through the wines. He was able to select wines he thought we’d like based on our preferences and we enjoyed asking him questions about wine. We capped the day off at a restaurant that we would never have known to go to unless Paulius showed it to us. Overall I would give Paulius and this experience more than 5 stars if I could!!!
We had a wonderful day with Paulius. We enjoyed 2 winery stops with a few tastings at each, and we really enjoyed our lunch at a small village restaurant that was truly a special experience. Paulius was very knowledgeable, and we enjoyed that he joined us in tasting and ate lunch with us as well. We enjoyed this beautiful day and learned a lot about this unique wine region.
We had an excellent tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide- Paulius. He answered every question we had and all three of us felt that we learned so very much from the trip. The old town of Util-Réquena was really nice and steeped in history. The tour of the Bodega was well presented and we enjoyed going underneath the streets to see where the wine was previously stored. The wine tasting was very good and in a beautiful location. We would all thoroughly recommend this fantastic experience.
We had a really unexpected start to this trip, when we were waiting with our guide Paulius for coffee at a cafe near the first winery stop…my husband’s chair collapsed under him when he tried to move out of the sun, and he cut the back of his head on the corner of the table! It was bleeding & looked like a few stitches were needed. Paulius was great—so helpful!! He immediately drove us to the nearby hospital ER, helping us translate. He said that, in his 10+ years of doing the wine tours, this was a first for him, but he handled everything like a pro. Thankfully, it wasn’t a serious cut, although my husband did get 4 staples…unexpected souvenir! We’d missed the first tour but he felt well enough to stop and see the caves there, which were fascinating! And he felt OK to do the 2nd half of the daylong tour. Paulius was great, always checking in to see how he was doing, and even though the day didn’t start like we planned, what we did get to experience of the tour was wonderful! And Paulius truly knows his stuff! (Gracias de nuevo por todo!!)
We went on a full day wine tasting tour from Valencia. Our guide, Paulius was amazing. We learned a lot about the wines in the region and Spanish wines in general. Highly recommend!!!!
Really enjoyed the tour as we got to see some real wineries in the countryside rather than staying in the city. Not to mention the wine tasting was all top quality wine, our guide Paulie was very knowledgeable about the region and the wine! We not only got to see some interesting underground caves of wine cellars in the hilltop town Requena. We also got to see a huge vineyard with many acres of land, belonging to a wine making family for many generations. The trip ends with big bang in an authentic local restaurant. The food was mamamia!!
We had a great day with Paulius. The schedule was run smoothly and at a good pace, and he was a good and safe driver, too. I learnt a lot today: I now know there is a lot more to Spanish wine than the Riojas! He was very mindful of my vegan dietary requirements, and the lunch he arranged for me at a village restaurant was fantastic. I would highly recommend this.
We had a very nice tour. The combination with tasting / looking in the caves on the first adress, and the visit of Bodega Vera de Estenas after that, was a good combination. Lunch at Rest.Gerano we found very special because of the many locals eating there.
We had a fantastic day with our super knowledgeable host Paulius, who took us to some superb places for 2 great tastings and a downright incredible lunch in a place that you’d never ever find without insider knowledge. At the pickup we found out it was just us as no others had booked the tour that day, and at first we felt that was a bit of a shame, but it was actually great. Paulius is first class company and we learned so much about local history and local grapes and wines. The day just flew by! If you are a wine lover, I very much recommend this tour.
We booked through AMBIA Tours. Paul was our guide. My daughter and I were the only ones on the tour. Paul did state he likes to keep the groups small but would accommodate larger groups. We drove an hour out from Valencia to the quaint town of Requena. After a quick tour of the town, we went to the wine museum and the winery. We had a wine tasting of four wines and a cava in a private room. Paul possesses an indepth knowledge about the wine and the wine region we were in Next, he took us to a wine estate that was absolutely beautiful. We toured the winery where Paul again discussed the different grapes and the type of wine made at the estate. Afterward, we had a wine tasting with Paul and the charming Wine Master. We sat outside and tasted wines with a view of the beautiful countryside. The wines were delicious Valencia wines. Paul is a wonderful tour guide. My daughter and I had an amazing time. Paul mentioned that the company also offers other tours. I highly recommend Ambia Tours if you are visiting the Valencia area
Very enjoyable trip. Carlos is a very friendly and knowledgeable man. I have a passion for wine and found the whole experience very interesting, learning about the Utiel Requena and Valencia DOs. Beautiful meal after the winery visits too!
Exceeded expectations! Paulius is a terrific guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about wine. He has a wealth of information of viniculture and Spanish history, which made it a very enjoyable experience. We were lucky to have a semi-private tour with one other couple, and everyone had a great time. From the spectacular wines to the delicious lunch at a local restaurant, we would definitely recommend to anyone who loves wineries and wants a unique experience in Valencia.
Valerie set up an amazing self guided wine tour in English and a delicious lunch at a restaurant that was way off the beaten path! She was there with other quests but came and made sure we ordered all the right foods! We would highly recommend her to anyone!!
My husband, two friends and I had the total pleasure of taking this day long tour with Paul. There are not enough words to describe how we all felt about this wonderful tour. Paul’s knowledge not only of the wine industry, but of the local history and culture is amazing. His very pleasant personality was a bonus. He went above and beyond to make our time a delightful experience. My husband and I have been on several day long wine tours but yesterday exceeds them all. Thanks to Paul for making our memories of Valencia even more than expected.
We did this wine tour as part of a long weekend in Valancia and it was an absolute highlight. Valeria was fantastic and very knowledgeable. It was particularly great to meet the vineyard owners and see the vines where the wine we were drinking came from!
Valeria was enthusiastic, knowledgable and passionate about her subject. Lunch was organised in an authentic Spanish restaurant. An terrific experience. Highly recommended.
What a great experience! A day of tasting beautiful wines in lovely locations. The vineyards we visited were both fantastic and very inviting. Our tour guide & host Valeria was very knowledgeable and made the trip an absolute pleasure. Finished off with lunch at a traditional Spanish restaurant with fabulous food. Would highly recommend this tour!
Murviedo and Vera de Estenas Vineyard were great. Requena and Uriel were charming town. The bobal grape was excellent. Great experience.
myself and my boyfriend booked this tour as part of a long weekend in Valencia. Our Tour guide was so knowledgable and friend. We had a group of 4, it was great to have the group to enjoy the experience with. The winery was so picturesq. We tasted several wines, each nicer than the last, and had an amazing lunch with authentic local foods
Valeria was our guide, and of you can choose, I suggest you choose her. Heart and soul for the tour, she has thought us very useful things in wine tasting. The program was relaxed, yet full. The wines were a delight, yet the restaurant that we went for lunch exceeded our expectations. Our guide had a lot to teach us about the history of the wine, about the quality of the products in the Valencia region, about the people of Spain and so on. Recommend 100%
My husband and I have been on many wine tours, but this experience was the best of them all!! Valeria was an amazing guide who catered to all of our wants and needs. She not only thoroughly explained the history and economics of the Spanish wine industry, but taught us much about the proper tasting and buying of wine. Valeria attended to all of our needs and preferences. Her warm personality and good sense of humor made the day even more special - - and the lunch was tasty and superb.
This is a must do when traveling to Valencia! I can’t wait to come back and do it again. Vineyards were gorgeous, wine was great, and the company was better.
What a great itinerary! My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous day with Trinidad! She is an amazing tour guide with lots of knowledge, excellent English and just an all around wonderful guide. We not only visited two wonderful small wineries, but also had the opportunity to walk around a small village, taste cheeses and meats, and drive on the back roads of a beautiful countryside. We ate lunch in a great little restaurant full of locals. We would not hesitate to recommend this trip to anyone. We have travelled around the world and have taken many tours with different tour guides. But Trinidad definitely stands out. The wine tour was worth every penny!
I booked in last minutest but they checked availability immediately and came back to me in 20 mins to make sure whether the tour would take place or not due to Christmas weekend. Our tour group was only 5 people so it’s like private one. We visited two different wineries which are totally different taste and local restaurant. Out tour guide, Valeria is very knowledgeable and friendly!!! She looked after us very well. I found she built up a good relationship with people in wineries. For lunch, we had in local restaurant in very small village and enjoyed lovely Valencian tastes. I highly recommend this tour if you want know Valencian wine!!!! Good price and amazing tour guide, Valeria :)
Valeria was a great guide and the wineries were both spectacular. Lunch was delicious and included with the cost. Definitely worth it. Valeria was informative and personable and clearly loves talking about Valencia and its history, along with the wine making process.
We had great trip going to see wineries in the Requena-Utiel region. Our guide was Trini and she was great and very knowledgeable!!! Very helpful and delicious wine. Lunch was amazing and included. If you like wine and want a beautiful day out, you should definitely take this excursion.
For the second time we turned to Ambia Tours to introduce us to one of the leading wine regions of Valencia—this time Terres dels Alforins. Ambia’s English speaking tour guides are extremely knowledgeable, professional and put a great deal of effort into planning your time with them. They are certified in wine and the owner also runs an online wine shop, so she knows many of the winemakers that you will visit. The wineries and wine tours were exceptional as was our lunch in wine country. Both bodegas made excellent wines but one (ARRAEZ-whose labels are created by local artists - see “To Live Without Sleep”) had a hipster sensibility and the other (Celler del Roure) focused on local traditions dating back centuries (see wine caves). We didn’t want to drive after tasting the wines, a big factor for us, so this was a great option. This trip was everything we were hoping for and more!
This was an excellent tour. We (me and my husband) visited two vineyards, one more historical and another family run vineyard. Our guide Paul really made the experience exceptional. He had excellent knowledge about wine, the region and Spain, we got to learn a bit about the history too. The wine tasting and information about the winemaking, the little snacks were very enjoyable and a delicious meal too. An exceptional day and one we would highly recommend.
We visited two wineries on our wine tour, guided by Paul. One was a small, family owned operation and the other a larger, corporate operation. The hosts and Paul did a great job explaining the influences the region and climate have on the fruits they grow and the wine they make from them - and they are especially passionate about the Bobal grape! The wine tasting was great, the ride was safe and comfortable and the lunch provided in Requena was fantastic (and included more wine!!). Paul did a great job...we highly recommend this tour if you visit Valencia.
We thank Valeria for a wonderful wine tasting day. Everything was so well organised. The wineries we visited were very interesting, the wine we tasted beautiful, the meal afterwards very nice. Valeria was available, patient, highly knowledgeable about wines - and cuisine! - We would recommend her company to anybody wishing to discover Valencia and its treasures. Thank you Valeria
Don't hesitate to take this one day tour! It was fabulous. Paul was the guide/owner and so informative. We got to enjoy all the countryside on our ride to and from the wineries. We learned so much. And the lunch was such a great experience. We ate at a small restaurant in a local town. It was the only restaurant there and we dined with the locals. Food was amazing. I can't say enough good things about this experience. Loved it!
We had a one of the best experience in Valencia with a full-day wine tour. Paul was our guide. He had professional knowledges about wines, and he got a great skill to let us know about wine in general and characteristics of D.O. Also, we met our best red wine so far at VERA Estenas in Utiel. It was awesome experience!
We went on the full day wine tour with Valeria. Our group consisted of Germans, Canadians and US wine lovers. We visited two wineries, the Vera de Estenas and Pago de Tharsys. Very interesting choices because they were operated in very diverse manners, one being an artesianal winery. Valeria, who is not only a tour guide but a sommelier, shared a wealth of knowledge about wine, grapes and the process of making wine. We completed our tour at a lovely restaurant in a rural village. The food was not only delicious but very reflective of the region. A great day!

This was a fabulous day Our guide was great, the small family vinyard was fantastic-Eduard was a wonderful host the wine was excellent and the subsequent visit to the very large winery was very intersting and was an excellent choice as it demonstrated the difference both in wine and the process. Finished off with a lunch in local village, just a great day. I highly recommend this tour. Great value for money and a wonderful experience.

Robyn, Bruce and Mikaela

This tour was the best wine tasting tour I have ever been on! Miguel our guide and driver was amazing! We learned sooo much and the wine was amazing. The meal fabulous!! I can not wait to come back and revisit this tour!!!

Paulius is a wonderful guide. He is a driver, tour guide and sommelier all in one and has a great deal of specialist knowledge, both about the history and the region, as well as about every single wine we were allowed to drink. We were a mini group of 4 people, which was fantastic and very personal. It was a lot of fun and very entertaining and funny. The two wineries we visited were very different and an excellent choice. We were able to visit an underground cave system in Requena and had a wine tasting in Utiel under shady trees with a fantastic view. The food in a typical Spanish restaurant was also excellent. We were the only foreign guests here. This tour may be more expensive than other offers, but it is definitely worth it. Highly recommended!
A visit to their wineries to buy wines, many of them difficult to find since they are exported and of extraordinary quality, is essential, as is a visit to the old part called Villa. In it we have two museums dedicated to wine, one of the Casa del Cid is essential, fabulous and another of the grape harvest festival. It is also essential to visit the town's caves with underground cellars with huge jars. Also interesting is the Silk House and the contemporary art museum. Requena certainly pleasantly surprised us and we were looking forward to experiencing the grape harvest fair at the end of August because they must be unique.
It was a spectacular weekend! Wonderful stay in an idyllic place, with good gastronomic and wine experience. To repeat. The truth is that Ambia Tours is an Enterprise ideal for setting up a tailored suit for leisure and fun! Recommendation 100%
Valeria .. the most enthusiastic expert guide . Humor knowledge friendly. A big 10. Recommended IMPRESIONATE
Thank you very much for this day! It was a pleasure to be guided by Valeria, a true wine enthusiast and Valencian region! I really recommend this visit and the various great tastings!
Very great trip to the wine region of Valencia. We visited two wineries and had a delicious lunch. A nice day with good wines. Highly recommended.
Today wonderful experience. We had the best guide we could want, for our trip through Requena. With tasting, explanation of vineyards and wineries. Hand in hand with Valeria. Pick up in Valencia. Transfer to Requena, comfortable and pleasant, driven by Valeria. First stop in Cavas de Murviedro genial. Ana has given us the senses, with her explanations and her kindness, finishing the visit, with tasting. Second stop. Visit vineyards and wineries. Vera de Esteban. Hand in hand with Felix, beautiful visit, spectacular finca, century-old winery. Friendliness and exquisite tasting in its gardens, after the beautiful visit. It has been a unique experience and culminated with a great meal, in Restaurant Genaro, in Fuenterrobles. From our guide I can tell. His friendly treatment and his sympathy, has made us feel very special. Thanks Valeria.
The excursion was impeccably organized, Valeria accompanied us first to a large cellar and then to a family-run where we were also pampered by a taste of local cold cuts; good, substantial and typical lunch where you feel like the many locals who frequent the restaurant. But the part I appreciated the most was knowing the guide who was able to tune the group well by sharing his knowledge and his point of view. A trip that goes beyond the usual big city tourism to just an hour's drive, a rare pearl
