We met our guide, Luciana, and had a very enjoyable tour with her! She not only showed us places of history and interest, but also recommended various food spots and places to see on our own. She is lovely, with great sense of art and architecture.

Nice, short walking tour of the old historic part of city. Our guide was friendly, considerate and knowledgeable.
Valencia was amazing, Our Guide Mike was a wonderful host who had a huge agenda for us but was able to modify it to accommodate my disability without losing any part of the experience. He was kind, very knowledgeable and easy to spend time with. It was a very hot and crowded day in town and he made it his business to keep us away from the mobs and heat. I would go with him on any tour as would my companions. That says it in a nutshell compared to the 2 previous disasters we took with you. Do your homework people!, Check other tours and companies. A 33% positive is not nearly good enough, meaning that 2 out of 3 of our tours were worthless. We couldn't even go on one because the Viatour advisor didn't know what she was selling. She sold us what we thought would be a fun experience 10-20 minutes from our ship. We couldn't go because the taxi driver said the pick up point was 60 minutes away and a fare of $125. Add this to the $250 we paid for the tour, and another 250 in cab fare this would have made any trip from the ship a bargain. What you also need to know is that it is close to impossible to reach Viatour by phone, and if you are away and in a foreign country, put What's App on your phone and have anyone whom you would like to speak with put it on their. It's a free app and the connections are so much better than regular cell/ and their texts are encrypted for privacy and safety. You can do audio and video calls. No $$$ is involved. Advisors are salespeople who just read the brochures to you. They do not know the product.
We had a fascinating morning with María, an expert in history, art and architecture. Her English is excellent and she listened to what we wanted to explore. Can’t recommend her and this private tour highly enough. The perfect introduction to the beautiful city of Valencia.
Mike was very knowledgeable and packed a lot into our 90 minutes with him. Easy to spend time with and we thoroughly enjoyed hearing about the best way to spend 3 days in Valencia while learning interesting historical facts . Great tour.
Thank you Maria for your effort to make the walk to be remembered, strongly recommended. I am not so into Churches, so Maria took me on a nice stroll through the city.
With only two days in Valencia we wanted a family friendly tour to show us some of the key and hidden sights of the area. Maria was wonderful with the kids and showed us alot of sights in the city that we wouldn't have otherwise stumbled across. We learned about some of Valencia's traditions, explored a historic bakery, and learned about the street art amongst other interesting topics. She was great with our girls as well who where 5 and 7. Thanks Maria!
We had a wonderful lovely funny and informative morning in Valencias old city with Cesar. Anytime again. Thank you !!!!
My mother, my sister and I had a tour of old valencys with Cesar. He clearly loved to share his knowledge of the city with tourists. He answers questions, tells you stories and makes it a memorable experience. He also gave us some Paella recommendations and other places to eat! All excellent! I would recommend Cesar very highly!
. Marcos is an enthusiastic, informative, fun host. History brought alive. Lots of amazing insights. Perfect pace and mixture of walking, talking and tasting.
Very kind and knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed the tour very much and thought the length was just right.
Great private walking tour of historic Valencia. Marcos was very friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. Being a lifelong resident of Valencia he had personal experience with the city.
We had only 3 days in Valencia to know what we should prioritise. Danny was very knowledgeable, and he showed us around at a pace suited to 2 over 80 year olds ! He had a good sense of humour, telling us how to differentiate the 2 St Vincents who are key to the city's Christian history. ...I don't think I will ever forget! There were useful tips on the local beers , foods, and restaurants to try. He also pointed out some rather naughty gargoyles on the Silk Exchange 😜!! Overall, it was a great way to familiarise ourselves with the old city. I would have given 5 stars if Danny had not been late arriving at the meeting point.
We had a very pleasant morning with Marcos on a kick start tour of Valencia. He was friendly, informative and we learnt some interesting facts and stories that we wouldn’t have heard otherwise. He had an iPad which enabled him to show us photographs and maps and also provided us with some great recommendations for restaurants and bars! We really enjoyed
I had a very nice tour with my Mother, Aunt and niece. Maria is very friendly and intelligent. She knows how to tell you everything about Valencia. Highly recommended if you visit the Orange City.
Marcos was at the agreed meeting point more than on time. Friendly, knowledgeable, funny. Lovely experience!!
Our guide Marcos was extremely knowledgable about local history. He could field every question we had, and in perfect English. We took a private tour the first morning we arrived, and it was a great introduction to Valencia and the old town. It helped us get our bearings and learn about Valencia’s history. The success of these tours are entirely dependent on having a good guide - Marcos is a great guide. Definitely recommend.
Maria is a very pleasant guide and has a lot of interesting stories to tell about Valencia! The whole planning and communication and payment through the Withlocals platform works also very well!
Beautiful weather, a great city and a guide which could not stop to tell us known & unkown facts and figures ! We enjoyed very much the interesting storytelling, and do recommend Mike to be your guide in this environment of diversity in history of the city/province ! Thank you Mike !
Marie was a fantastic guide of old town Valencia. Very knowledgeable and friendly. She pointed out a lot of things that we would have never noticed.
Mike was prompt and started our tour with enthousiasme. Easy going and knowledgeable, chatty and a good sense of humour. We thoroughly enjoyed our historic introduction to Valencia.
Perfect way to start our stay in Valencia. Josephine was a fabulous local guide. Couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay in Valencia was perfect
Josephine was a lovely, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable guide. She made the tour interesting & fun - and gave us some great tips & suggestions for the rest of our trip. She was also extremely honest about what was worth spending money on and what wasn’t! We would highly recommend!
Our guide Mimoza was very knowledgeable and entertaining! She had some good stories. She took us to some lesser known spots as well.
We enjoyed very much getting to know the historic center of Valencia with Marcos' guidance. He presented everything in a very logical and friendly manner. In my group we had Spanish and English speaking people and he was able to handle both with great easy. Marcos also gave us good tips for the rest of our stay in Madrid including a great paella place we went to yesterday to try the truly Paella Valenciana!
María is very knowledgeable about the city and it’s history. She is friendly and easy to talk to. Very helpful tour for my first few days in Valencia.
Josephine is AMAZING! It rained the day of our tour, but we did not want to cancel. Josephine guided us on where to buy rain coats, we bought them ($7 euros) and headed off on our tour. She explained so much about the city and took us to places where we could stay dry but still not miss out on the history. She is passionate about the city and showed us so many wonderful and beautiful places. She recommended a lovely spot for us to eat at the end of the tour. We were a group of 4 and I highly, highly recommend this tour. Thank you for teaching us so much about the history of Valencia!
We had a fantastic tour with Marcos, a very kind and polite person that loves his city and knows plenty of stories and facts about it. He answered all our questions and gave us some additional good ideas to discover the city. We can highly recommend him, it was such a pleasant tour and unfortunately ended too quick! Many thanks Marcos!!!!
Highly recommend a tour of Valencia with Maria! Very knowledgeable about all things Valencia both location and historical. A wealth of information in 1.5 hours. It gave us a great overall feel for the city and we were able to navigate very well around after it. Her English is excellent so no issues with comprehension at all. Highly recommend!
A perfect mix of both the well known highlights as well as the hidden gems you would normally miss. Mimoza provided both an educational and humorous view of Valencia and its people.
We had a great rundown of Valencia together with Mike. Very much enjoyed the experience and all the little and big things that we learned during the 90 minute round. Above all it was a lot of fun - great to get to know Mike and his take on Valencia and its near and far away history. Absolute recommendation!
Perfect tour bij Locals. Ask for Mimoza, she is the best tourguide in Valencia! She takes you on a historic, spiritual and real journey.
Extremely entrataining and fun way to spend a couple of hours in the afternoon. Highlights of the city are presented by a knowledgeable guide while enjoying an afternoon stroll. Perfect way to start an extended vacation, to get your bearings, or a concise tour for short stays.
Danny has shared fun stories that we enjoyed a lot. His sense of humour and choice of what to share was aligned with our interests. We highly recommend this tour and Danny especially!
On Saturday 5 November we went on the City Kickstart tour with Josephine. She was a charming guide who showed us interesting aspects of this lovely city and its history. When we did the tour, we had already been in Valencia for three weeks so had visited many of the tourist highlights. However, Josephine showed us many more interesting places that we had not yet discovered. All this was done with great enthusiasm and in perfect English therefore we can recommend a tour with Josephine most highly!
Maria was extremely knowledgeable, answered all of my questions, pointed out key sites and styles, and communicated in a friendly manner. If you want to fall in love with Valencia, I recommend her highly as a guide!
Our guide Josefina was flexible and amiable. Very knowledgeable. Highly recommend her. And this tour.
Marcos is not just showing around, but tells an interesting story about the history story of Valencia. The buildings, churches and sites are figuring in this story. With his approach and knowledge, he is the best guide we have had so-far. Besides, he is a very pleasant guy!
Our guide marcos was great at engaging us in conversation about the history or Valencia and asked us thought provoking questions, which I appreciated very much!
Josephine is such a lovely host. She is very knowledgeable and very engaging even to our 6 year old girl. Perfect English. If you want to know more about The old town, you have to book this your before exploring it on your own.
I highly recommend Josephine for the English tour. She was knowledgeable and telling me details about the old town. Her diction and pronunciation was clear. worth my time for a 1 day trip!
We booked this tour on our first fill day in Valencia. Marcos (our guide) was very knowledgeable. We started in Plaza de la Virgen and slow walked our way through the highlights of the area. The tour was about an hour and 45 minutes, but we never ventured much further than the Roman gate. We enjoyed the depth of Marcos's experience. He even used an Ipad to provide additional visual aids and historical context along the way. For two people who love architecture and culture, we would recommend this tour. If you're a strong walker - great! If not, no worries; Marcos moves at your own pace and gauges the flow of the pace as you go. We paid for a private tour - just for the two of us. At the beginning of the tour, Marcos asked if we could add four other people (2 couples) because a colleague was ill; we declined as we felt we really wanted to get the value of our private tour which could have been lost to use if we had added more people. In all - a great choice if you're looking for a private option to start your trip in Valencia.
A really good introduction to Valencia. The guide explained the history and background to this interesting city and showed us some aspects of it, concentrating on the Old Town and its development since the Moorish times, pointing out things like the rounded street corners and having a look into the courtyard of a former palace. We were given glimpses into some museums and churches that we could visit later in our stay. When we did visit the main attractions - such as the cathedral, San Nicolas, the Llonja and others - we understood and appreciated them much better as a result of this. We were very pleased to have done this tour at the start of our visit.
Tips on what else to see in Valencia, especially San Nicolas. Guide had a great knowledge of the irises history.
Our tour guide was really lacking unfortunately. It all felt very rushed and there was barely any history discussed. We’ve had some incredible tours in Spain but this was by far the worst. Just no passion for the city or for sharing the history. Didn’t seem like he wanted to be there at all.
Great citytour with Mike!! He speaks perfect English, knows a lot and we had a lot of fun! He showed us all the spots of interest in the old city of Valencia.
I had a wonderful tour with Marcos. The information was well structured and linked together beautifully, so I gained a deeper understanding of the beautifil city and its surroundings. I am a tour guides nightmare as I always have lots of questions, but Marcos was ever patient and I really appreciated the extra information. My inner geek was very happy! In addition, I use a mobility scooter to help me get around and this was never a problem - Marcos took care to make sure the route was easy for me to negotiate, but I never felt that this was a difficulty for him. There were many highlights to the morning, but the two that particularly stick out for me were the Archaeological Museum and the Silk Exchange. At the former, Marcos went out of his way to gain me lift access to the Roman level. As an ardent classicist, this made my very happy indeed. At the Silk Exchange we had an excellent discussion about the similarity of customs and practices in varying countries, as well as my learning the truth behind the funding for Christopher Columbus' first expedition. (You will have to take the tour to find out for yourself!) All in all, it was an excellent experience which I heartily recommend.
Christoff was an amazing tour guide; he gave me a brief description of a different places we passed and also taught me about the interesting street art found all throughout the city center. I left the tour feeling like I knew my way around the city and had some new places to check out in further detail. Great tour to start off a trip!
Marcos was an amazing tour guide. Took us on an amazing walking tour and was very knowledgeable of this beautiful city’s history.
Excellent informative tour. Marcos was very knowledgeable and provided us with lots of historical information about Valencia and also provided useful tips on what we should do and see during the rest of our stay. Highly recommend the tour.
