We had an absolutely fabulous time on our private, all-day tour of Valencia, and that was largely thanks to our incredible guide, Carlos! He was exceptionally knowledgeable, warm, and attentive, tailoring the day perfectly so we could experience so many of the city's top sights at the perfect pace.A massive highlight of the day was having lunch at the unique undersea restaurant inside the aquarium. Dining surrounded by beautiful marine life was a world-class, unforgettable experience with fantastic food to match. Carlos truly made our day in Valencia special. If you want a top-tier, personalized experience of this beautiful city, ask for Carlos!

ADMISSION INCLUDED FOR TWO MUSEUMS/MONUMENTS. Your private guide will take you around the UNESCO-protected Lonja de la Seda, or our Silk Exchange, which was Valencia's center of commerce during the 15th century. The building itself is a testament to Valencia's history, decorated with ornate engravings and gargoyles that tell their own stories. If you choose to include entrance into La Lonja, your guide will take you through the orangerie, the grand hall, and the ornately decorated rooms.
ADMISSION INCLUDED FOR TWO MUSEUMS/MONUMENTS. Your guide will walk with you beside the reflecting pond that acts as a roof for our modern archeological museum, home to the Roman ruins that made up the city of Valencia. If you choose to include entrance into the Almoina, your guide will take you back in time to the Roman era and the very early origins of our city. As the museum is underground, this is a great option for a hot day.
ADMISSION INCLUDED FOR TWO MUSEUMS/MONUMENTS. Supplemental cost of 5€ per person (excluding children). Subject to availability. Built between the 13th and 15th centuries, the Cathedral of Valencia is widely considered to be home to the Holy Grail, which you will see if you choose to include entrance into the Cathedral. Your guide will walk you around the outside of the cathedral, explaining the significance of the variety of architectural styles.
(Outside only is the norma) During your tour, your guide will reveal the secrets of the City of Arts and Sciences complex, designed by Valencia’s own Santiago Calatrava and Felix Candela. You can choose to end your tour at the City of Arts and Sciences to visit Europe’s largest aquarium and ocean research center, the Oceanografic. Our guides are happy to make reservations for you at the underwater restaurant or help you purchase tickets to visit the marine life.
No visit to Valencia is complete without a photo stop at the picturesque, wide sandy Malvarrosa beach area. You can choose to end your tour at the beach to soak in some of the Mediterranean sunshine. Our guides are happy to make reservations for you at one of our favorite beachside restaurants or recommend beach rentals for an afternoon in the sun.
During your tour, your guide will take you down the main shopping street in the city, passing by the Romanesque Bullring and the Art Nouveau style train station. Entrance into the train station can be arranged free of charge - please consult when you book your tour.
Decorated in an Art Nouveau style and featuring beautiful stained glass windows and Moorish-style arches, the Mercado Central, or Central Market, or Valencia, is the highlight of the city center. Your guide will take you through the rows of stalls piled high with fresh produce, meats, cheeses, wine, fish, olives, and more. You will have a chance to taste some of the delicacies of Valencia in the Central Market. Not available on Sundays, public holidays, or afternoon tours.
Located in the center of the city, the Plaza del Ayuntamiento is home to Valencia's center of government and town hall.
One of the most beautiful places in Valencia, the Plaza de la Virgen is located in the pedestrian-only historic city center. Your guide will take you through the plaza, showing you the Basilica, the Cathedral, and the fountain in the center of the plaza. You can take a break on your tour here to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine while people watching. You might even spot a few Valencian Falleras dressed in traditional 18th-century gowns.
If you'd like to get a good view of Valencia, we can climb one of the smaller towers in Valencia, one of the old main city gates.

Excellent tour with a lovely, knowledgeable and very helpful guide. 10/10 would do again.
My wife and I visited Valencia for a 2nd time. This time we opted for a private tour of the city with Valencia Private Tours, best decision ever! Everything worked out flawlessly, from initial booking to end of the 6 hour tour. Our guide, Josep was amazing! At first we thought a 6-hour Private tour may be a bit long, but Josep made it feel incredibly interesting the entire time and was the most pleasant person to hangout with, while learning all about Valencia, and Spain in general. I would highly recommend Valencia Private Tours and Josep to anyone looking to visit Spain! Thank you Kate and team Valencia Private Tours! See you next time!
My wife and I are considering moving to Valencia. Never having been here Kate recommended the neighborhoods and barrios tour. We were seeking information that would be valuable for those choosing to move to Valencia. And because there was so much to see and so much information to absorb Kate suggested and we requested 2-half day tours rather than one full day. Kate made it happen. On each of the days we were picked up at our hotel and driven around. After the first day Issa communicated to our second day guide Claire where she had taken us to prevent duplication and to maximize our exposure to all the neighborhoods and surrounding areas of Valencia. Issa and Claire were our guides and they were knowledgeable, sharing of their abundant local knowledge and receptive to our many questions. Their wealth of knowledge in all matters of living here were shared, transportation education healthcare facilities social opportunities shopping and recreation. We would definitely recommend Valencia Private Tours to those thinking of moving to this city to gain insight into the different neighborhoods.
Carlos was an amazing guide who showed us so much of Valencia but we never felt rushed. Visited all the highlights including the Silk Exchange and Carhedral with the Holy Grail. Had a lovely lunch and he even helped my daughter find a new dress when her strap broke ;). Outstanding day!!
Highest marks starting with the initial contact with Valencia Private Tours‘ owner Kate, and continuing through the excellent day spent touring Valencia with private guide Vincent. Kate exudes warmth and professionalism and Vincent was totally knowledgeable and very good company during our eight hour tour. I can highly recommend Valencia Private Tours.
We only had a couple of days in Valencia, so we decided to take a full-day tour. This was a great choice and allowed us to ensure we saw and learned everything about Valencia within the time we had. Our tour guide, Claire, was amazing. She picked us up and gave us a fantastic tour. She is energetic, positive, and eager to show us this wonderful city. She was always ready to adjust the tour to suit our preferences, but when we didn't have a specific plan, she was prepared with an alternative. For example, the tour started at 9:00, and we hadn't had coffee or breakfast, and Clarie had no problem taking us someplace before the tour even began. She was also great with my children, making sure to engage and point out things that would be interesting to them. Her local knowledge gave us insights we wouldn't have otherwise received. We would take a tour with her again. Claire met us at our hotel in a car and drove us around. The majority of the tour, however, was walking around the older part of the city. She was great at explaining how the organization of the town is connected to its history. When this was done, she drove us to the City of Arts and Sciences. This is not to be missed, and it is my favorite part of the tour. I found it amazing that we could go from ancient Roman ruins to a city that looks like it is from the future. Don't forget to try some Horchata there. Claire led us to some that was the best we had in Spain. Our tour concluded with a drive along the beach and through the farmland. We had another appointment at 5:00, and Claire made sure we were there on time. If you are looking for a personal tour of Valencia, look no further.
Our guide was fantastic and super helpful. We got a really complete picture of the city, saw a ton of things, had a wonderful lunch and really enjoyed chatting with her in amongst it all.
We had a custom real estate tour outside of the city. Kate hooked us up with one of her colleagues who had lived in all the areas of interest to us. She gave us practical day-to-day living insight comparing the various locations, and also was able to make contact with realtors and builders for us who had not responded to our online enquiries. The Horchata and ice cream at La Caseta in L’Eliana was fabulous too!
What a great day! We had already been in València for a couple of days, and Vicent showed us many details we had missed on our self-tour. We went to a fantastic subterranean museum filled with Roman ruins. The drive to the birthplace of paella is a fun dining experience. We saw so much that day but we still filled another day of touring on our own thanks to Vicent’s recommendations. This is the best way to experience the best of València!
We were there in April 2025 as part of a cruise and wanted to book a tour away from the full bus tours offered via the cruise. The contact was very professional at short notice and within a few hours an individual tour with a guide in our native language (German) was organized. Our tour guide Rick was very knowledgeable and did a great job of adapting the tour to our wishes and needs (two children, one older person who was not so good on foot). A restaurant visit on recommendation and a subsequent return trip to the ship was also organized without further ado. The stories about the beautiful city and the sights were entertaining and informative. Even though the trip was not exactly inexpensive, we enjoyed it very much and it ensured that we will remember Valencia as a particular highlight of our cruise. We first saw Kate on an episode of James in Spain on YouTube. My partner and I immediately thought she could be a great resource as we made our scouting trip to the area in preparation for our move later this summer. What Kate was able to provide us was worth every Euro. Before we even got started, Kate had us meet via WhatsApp and did a great job of finding our hot buttons. More importantly, she helped us (me, specifically) broaden our thinking about where we thought we wanted to be in Spain. While not discouraging some of the communities our research had led us to, she gave us some local insight that helped us ultimately eliminate some of those areas from our prospective home search. She also gave us some ideas to help us open our thinking and boy, am I glad she did. In fact, one of those towns she recommended is now the epicenter of our home search. Kate picked us up on time from the hotel and gave us a quick tour around town. She was attentive to our needs. Specifically, we didn't want our limited time to be consumed with tourist stuff. That will come, but this trip was not that. She then pointed us north of Valencia and introduced my partner and me to a world that we fell in love with. But it wasn't all work and no play. Kate took us to supper at a local restaurant where we enjoyed our first authentic Valencian paella. With the croquettes and other tapas, we were well fed to continue our journeys. At one point, my partner and I noted that Kate is very much “our kind” of people - great sense of humor, well versed in her craft, and someone who is fun to be around. Notably, Kate helped me figure out how to order coffee that wasn't a latte. For us hard-core, old-school coffee drinkers that's of utmost importance. We certainly logged some kilometers as we toured Sagunto, Porto Sagunto, Puzol, El Puig de Santa Maria and more. Kate's local knowledge was invaluable in helping us understand some of the local culture, terminology and generally - how things work. While we’ve been doing tons of internet research, the day with Kate gave us more good info than weeks of YouTube videos. So, all I can say is Wow. Kate far exceeded our expectations and I hope she becomes part of our circle of friends when we finally get settled in.
Nicole was an excellent guide. Her knowledge added so much to what we were seeing and experiencing. She blended the day with walking through shopping area and then important historical museums. The icing on the cake was going out to Albuferia for paella. A wonderful day.
I traveled to Valencia by way of a cruise, with my Mom and my 2.5 year old, jet lagged toddler. He decided it was a good day to be a total pill, but our guide, Sonia, was a godsend. She was patient and kind and accommodating and very knowledgeable. If we make it back to Valencia, we will be booking another tour with Sonia, for sure! Traveling with a toddler is already stressful, and we have definitely had some guides who were not kid-friendly - Sonia was a breath of fresh air, and made at least one of our travel days a little less stressful and a little more relaxed. I'm forever grateful!
This experience was one of the best tours I've been on in my many trips to Spain. Josep was an absolute rock star. We started very early, drove around many points in and around Valencia, shared stories of our love for Spain and Valencia and other aspects of our lives. We then stopped at a beach front cafe for a coffee and a look at a map to see what we had covered and how different parts of Valencia are situated. We walked and drove around some more after our coffee stop, and around lunch time we hit a restaurant for a nice lunch and break from the sun lol. After lunch we ventured around the Arts and Science area and checked on public transportation stops and stations, as I'm always interested in jumping on a bus or train like a local and seeing the cities from that vantage point. It was an all day tour, so a lot of information, a lot of questions, some walking some driving, a lot of talking.... but I feel way more informed about beautiful Valencia than I did before my trip there. Josep was patient, funny, very easy going and easy to talk to, he was very familiar with Valencia and it's surrounding areas, and overall just a good person to have as a guide and as a mentor on the many things that make up Spain. If you are interested in learning about the different neighborhoods of Valencia and the mixed cultures that make up the city, sign up for either a half day or full day tour. You can't go wrong either way.
My wife and I spent a full day with Kate on the Valencia Lifestyle tour. We had so much fun and learned so much about Valencia! Kate is amazing! Not only is Kate a really fun person to spend a day with, but she also really knows her stuff. She told us everything we would ever need to know about all the different neighborhoods in Valencia and the surrounding area with a lot of history information mixed in. We have already recommended Valencia Private Tours to friends who are traveling to the region and would definitely look to book additional tours with them on future visits.
Vincent was very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed the tour very much. He went above and beyond to give us the best experience
We had a wonderful experience visiting Valencia and the surrounding area orchestrated by the experienced guides Sonia, Claire and Nicole. Besides visiting Valencia we went to Alcala del Jucar, Teruel and Alabrracim. If you are looking for different and customized experiences, I highly recommend the services of Valencia Private Tours.
Javier was excellent. Very knowledgeable and friendly. We truly enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it.
Simply amazing; ask for Sonya — she is so knowledgeable, interesting and adds humor! She’s a must to get the most!
I highly recommend this tour group. Sonia was our personal guide for two days in Valencia. She was wonderful. She was energetic, knowledgeable, very nice and spoke English extremely well. She explained the history of Valencia in a thoughtful manner with great respect for it's background. We experienced food and drink through the tour. She brought us to her family's favorite paella restaurant to experience "real" Valencian paella. If we return for another visit to the South of Spain, we will certainly use this service and Sonia.
Thank you so much, Kate! You enthusiastically shared your love for Spain, particularly Valencia. You are a fantastic teacher of Spanish history. Our group spent a day long trip with you to L'albufera where paella originated, (rice paddies, a boat trip on the lagoon, local lunch) and a visit to the castle hilltop town of Xavita. Along the journey you summarized Spain’s rich history from prehistoric farming to its present day thriving democracy as only a gifted storyteller/historian can. As you said and all of us agreed Spain has to learn how to market its rich heritage better to the world. We were enthralled the whole time. Kate you so energetic, happy, funny and personable we are thankful to have met you. Dan and Sandy OMeara
Kate was very efficient and knew great local spots as well as tourist spots and we were able to see most of the key attractions.
Marta was an outstanding guide. She added so much information and personal touches throughout the tour. Valencia became a favorite for my friends and reinforced for me that I must return and spend more time. You can plan on a top notch experience with this tour.
Our tour with Sarah was amazing and impressive! Her extensive academic knowledge about the history of Valencia and her genuine enthusiasm and passion of the region transformed us back to life and times of the people who lived during that period… we felt the hope, the love, the joy, and the pride of the people of Valencia’s long rich history. Sarah taught us about events that weren’t discussed much in our history classes… it will open your heart and mind to what the region offered and continues to do so. We were immersed in a time where different religions and cultures (Jews, Catholics and Moors) worked together to bring about prosperity within the region… both in times of war and peace and how it impacts our lives today. A tour with Sarah is not to be missed! Thank you, Sarah for transforming us back to a time long ago!
I had the pleasure of traveling to Spain for work. With the extra few days I took I decided to book a private tour with Kate who owns Valencia Private Tours. Let me tell you how surprised I was with the way everything was set up. Kate is the most wonderful person with an incredible personality. Her knowledge of Spain is absolutely incredible and I feel like I got extremely lucky to have had her as a tour guide. She did not let me miss any part of the tour and what we were doing. I 100% would recommend Kate to anyone traveling to Spain. It was an experience I would never forget and worth ever penny.
We had the most amazing day. Kate, our guide, was excellent company and so knowledgeable. Her enthusiasm was infectious. Her many stories and anecdotes made the history of Valencia come alive. Highlights included the old city, the CAS, the lagoon and a visit to El Palmar.
What a magnificent day we had in Valencia with Sarah-Kate, owner of Valencia Private Tours.Kate is a dynamo! The minute you meet her you feel her warmth and energy! We had no idea how amazing Valencia was! Quite a cosmopolitan city amidst the medieval cobblestone streets, cafes and beaches. Seeing her home city through her eyes just doesn’t get any better! She was a wealth of wonderful history, interesting facts, funny stories and all the locals knew her everywhere we went. Thanks Kate for a great day , great memories and a new friendship!
The restaurant at the Barcelo hotel in Valencia is a very good choice for dining. We went with friends to dinner, the Service and the quality of what we ate was excellent. The waitresses were on the lookout for everything we could need, no need to call them at all. The service has been more than exquisite, 10 for all staff. The place chosen to sit was perfect, there were 13 diners and they placed us in a shape, that we could all see each other and share the starters without any problem. In short very good professionals.
In Spanish and English We absolutely loved our tour with Josep. Hands down within 5 minutes, we couldn't stop talking the entire day. He was professional, courteous, and well knowledged of all things Valencia. He absolutely catered to our needs of all the things we wanted to see in the city and outside of the city. We barely did anything touristy with the tour itself as we wanted more information on neighborhood & areas, and getting a sense of daily living in Valencia. We moved here only a week before this tour. He spoke perfect English and Spanish as I. I am sure Josep will make your tour as exciting and informative in away that pertains to you. I'm quite sure we'll become friends with him. He was very laid and casual throughout the day. Know ahead of time what it is you want from the tour, and tell that to your tour guide. I highly recommend this company 100%. We loved our tour with Josep. Without a doubt, in 5 minutes with him and we could not stop talking throughout the day. He was Pro, courteous and knew everything about Valencia well. He absolutely met our needs for all the things we wanted to see in the city and outside the city. We hardly did anything touristy. Our intention was that we wanted more information about the neighborhood areas and to get an idea of daily life in Valencia. We moved here just a week before this tour. He speaks perfect English and Spanish like me. I am sure that Josep will make your tour as exciting and informative as it relates to you. I surely know we'll become friends with him. It was also very quiet and casual throughout the day. Make sure in advance what you want from the tour and tell your Guide your reasons. I highly recommend this tour company 100%.
