Shore Excursion: Ancient & Modern Valencia Tour With Wine & Tapas

All was very nice, despite all the walking. Martha our tour guide and the Tapas w wine tasting portion was excellent. Had a great time and limited group made it even personal/ intimate.

Bogi was extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to listen to about the history and architecture of Valencia. The wine and tapas were outstanding as well. We highly recommend this excursion!

Wow, were we pleasantly surprised by this tour! Bogi was a fantastic tour guide. She has a tremendous amount of knowledge about the area and its fascinating history. After a tour of old town we went to a private venue for tapas and wine tasting. The venue was stunning and a place that was only open to our group. The wine flowed all afternoon and the tapas were more than plentiful. We were fortunate enough to be paired with a really nice group of people, which enhanced the experience. We highly recommend booking a tour with Bogi. What a delight!!

What a wonderful evening !! We spent a good amount of time learning about this beautiful city and Juliane was incredibly knowledgeable. we happened to be the only two people in the group so this made our experience even more special . The tapas we had in the monument was equally as good and we have taken some great memories away from this evening and recipie ideas ! Thank you all , especially Juliane !

Leisurely walked through the old town area of Valencia. Restaurants, largest open area market in Europe, Roman and Moorish architecture. Lunch was served in a building originally built in the 1100's by the Moors. One original wall remains in this very comfortable covered patio and dining room. Lunch was tapas, cheeses, nuts, olives, wine and paella. Dessert with Moscatel sweet wine. Very good tour and a lovely region of Spain.

This is an excellent tour. It isn’t a walking food tour. The food is in the middle of the tour at a very special place. There is lots of food and wine. It combines old and new Valencia. Our guide was Martha and she is delightful. Very knowledgeable and very passionate about Valencia.

Bogie gave us a leisurely taste of old Valencia (just six of us). Beautiful weather in December. Bogie was very knowledgable on the history of Valencia and very patient with all our questions. A sophisticated presentation of tapas and five Valencia wines was delightful. We felt very pampered. Bogie then took just two of us to the incredible City of Arts and Science area, before putting us in a cab to take us back to our ship. We look forward to future tours with Seagram, through Viator.

My husband and I had an amazing experience City Tour with tapas today with our guide Bogi. The relaxed pace of the City Tour was much appreciated with enough time to see the sights and ask questions. Our next adventure was tasting outstanding València wine, cava and tapas. Last but not least was a mini traditional paella that was so, so so gooood! Bogi explained the food and wine pairings. We were too full to walk back to our hotel. Luckily, the tour included a hotel drop off otherwise we would end up taking our siesta on some quiet square or plaza. Overall a fantastic tour with our guide Bogi, beautiful day and ultra delicious València tapas and wine.

This was the most amazing experience. Boglárka Was such a great tour guide. She gave us a lot of information and history about the city. We had the most amazing wine and good tasting in a beautiful setting. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Valencia.

I had an amazing experience on the tapas and city tour with Martha! She was so sweet, knowledgable, and passionate about Valencia. We learned so much about the city's history and culture while strolling through its beautiful streets. The tapas we tried were absolutely delicious, and the wine pairings were perfect. Good info to know going into this: this is not a tapas bar hopping tour. You spend about 3 hours touring and then 1 hour eating. So much better for learning about Valencia. We met our fabulous guide Martha (the reviews are right on about how great she is) and we traveled in a waiting ride share car to the area of the 17 km park created when the river was diverted following a flood. There we toured the exterior of the Calatrava deigned Art and Science museum, IMAX “Eye” and opera house as she explained the architect’s imagination and purpose. We were very thankful for all the info we got from Martha to better appreciate this marvel. We took another ride share car to the historical area and Martha gave us a great lesson in Valencia’s long history in a totally enjoyable way. Then we walked a short distance to our final tour destination: the tapas room! The area was just for the tours by this company and since some folks canceled, it was just the two of us enjoying about 13 different tapas items, from almond and olives to dessert paired with 5 newly opened wines just for us! Martha suggested since we love art, to visit the St Nicholas chapel and she walked us there before saying goodbye. Great suggestion! She arranged a ride share to pick us up whenever we were ready to head back to the port. All included in the tour cost. What an unforgettable experience!

We had a fabulous time with Martha! She picked us up in front of the cruise terminal and we were on our way to the area surrounding the City of Arts and Sciences. This time of year we were the only people so we had a private tour for the first half of our time with her. She shared a lot of knowledge as we walked this beautiful part of Valencia. Then we went to the old part of Valencia and met another person that joined our group. We walked and learned about their market, churches and history. We then stopped in a private place and were served a variety of tapas. All delicious. Highly recommend.

Our private shore excursion with Narwell tours with group of 11 was a well planned success. 5 stars for our guide Victor and our driver Darwin. Our itinerary was rearranged due to religious celebration, so that we could cover everything that was planned. We visited the elaborately decorated museum to El Faro, a celebrated president of Ecuador during the revolution, the Panama hat making center of Montecristi, the Manta ship building area and the fish market, and the Pacoche National Reserve. I highly recommend this full day trip. Be sure to wear hiking type shoes, sunscreen and hat for walking in the reserve. Reasonably priced and great communication with me during the planning process. I used the Cruise Critic website and the roll call of our ship to organize the tour on the Spreadsheet. Muchos Gracias Victor and Narwell!

This was the most amazing shore excursion that we ever took.. and we have been on a lot! Our Guide Martha was fabulous!! She had the most fantastic personality.. was sooo knowledgeable!! The trip was just the right combination of sight seeing and an incredible wine and tapas experience! Beware … the tapas and wine is a major eating experience .. come hungry!!

Daniel was an amazing, informative, passionate, and knowledgeable tour guide. Our family of 4 (two adults and two teens) enjoyed our tour of Valencia. Transportation was seamless. Daniel even waited for us for 15 minutes since our cruise ship docked later than expected. The food and wine at the end of the trip was amazing and probably the best we had on our whole vacation. This was a great tour!

Dani was quite the guide! We had so much fun, tasting tapas with great wine in a beautiful setting. Loved València and he made it even more memorable. Not only is he funny and knowledgeable but his English is great.

Experienced a delightful food tour that culminated in an exquisite tapas feast. Throughout the tour, our guide Sharin's enthusiasm was infectious, as she passionately shared fascinating insights about the city's cultural and historical landmarks. The finale was a highlight, where we indulged in a variety of delicious tapas, making the entire journey both informative and satisfying.

The was one of the best excursions we have ever take and at an excellent value. Our guide Sharin kept in touch with us prior to the date and gave perfect instructions on where to meet her from our cruise ship. She showed us the newer sections of Valencia and its beautiful green spaces before we then went on a walking tour of the Old City. Sharin was so informative and you could tell that she really loved sharing the history and beauty of Valencia with us. After the tour, we then had an amazing lunch at this cute private venue where the tapas were amazing and plentiful and the wine was free flowing. Sharin then made sure that everyone from our group were safely put into taxis ( which the tour provided) and returned to our ship in plenty of time. This was a small group tour which made it even nicer (our group had 6 people and there was another group of 8 that had their own guide) We loved everything about the day and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Valencia.

Tuathla, our guide was AMAZING! She was engaging and very knowledgeable. The tour was a wonderful mix of the Arts & Sciences and València’s major monuments. The tapas and wine were a fantastic end to our tour. Valencia is now our favorite city!

I saw the best view of the sunset in Valencia from the highest building of the city! We tasted amazing local wines and tapas, I loved it. The tour is highly recommended and 100% worth it.

We had a tour of the older Gothic area of the city, and then moved on to the newer science focused part of the city. Then rooftop tapas. The tour guide Martha was one of the highlights of the trip. She was proud of her city and that showed during the tour. The other highlight was the young chef who made the tapas. Both of these employees are absolute gems.

The communication with the company was super. We booked direct and fully understood where they picked us up and when. We were met by our tour guide and her driver the van for the 6 of us was very comfortable. Shrine was a wonderful tour guide. Very knowledgeable and a very pleasant demeanor. Great pace. Our group kept going into stores and she had a great attitude. So fun. The food, wine, service, quality, and venue were amazing.

This was an incredible introduction to the stunning city of Valencia, perfect for cruise ship passengers. our guide contacted us the night before and the morning of the tour to make sure we were okay and arrived on time. Emma was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and a great tour guide! she gave us great insight into living in Valencia and the history of the city. The tour started with an easy walk through the old town, markets and city squares before heading to the city of arts and sciences. we finished with a 8 course Tapas tasting on a roof top terrace with amazing views of the city, the port and the mountains in the distance, accompanied with a great selection of wines, the tapas is to die for! amazing food, wine and great company 10/10 recommend.

This was a fabulous tour; we had a fantastic time! Bogi was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. We were able to see so much of the old and new cities and learn a lot about the history of Valencia. Bogi was a friendly and helpful guide that made efficient use of our half day tour to cover both the old and new parts of town in Valencia. She met us at the Trasmed cruise terminal, which was a short shuttle ride away from our cruise berth. Ciudad de Artes y Ciencias was definitely a highlight and she took some great pics of us there and at other locations along the way. I didn't expect quite so much walking, but it was manageable. Transportation is via the local Uber-like taxi service, which she arranged for us. The final part of the day was the multi-course tasting at Sea Saffron's rooftop office location, which offered an amazing panoramic view of Valencia. The tapas were tasty and filling, and I was particularly impressed with the wine selection as I wasn't aware that Valencia was a wine producing region. Overall this trip was a great value and much better than shore excursions offered by the cruise line.

From the moment we met Emma at the cruise terminal until the end of the tour the experience was fantastic. We walked around the old town of Valencia and Emma’s knowledge was amazing. The pace of the tour was good and we did not feel rushed at all. We then got a taxi to the newer part and that tour was also amazing. Then we had our tapas and wine on a rooftop of a building in Valencia. Not in a bar but totally private with just our group! The wine and food was excellent. We had plenty of time to enjoy the wine and food which was lovely. Highly recommend this tour.

Firstly, huge compliments to Sea Saffron for their great communication and adaptability when booking this tour, my husband’s poor health caused timing issues but they were so accommodating. This tour of old and new València was beyond expectations. Our guide, Sharin, was engaging, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about València’s rich history. The opportunity to combine the old town and then to be swiftly and easily transported to futuristic Valencia made this the perfect overview in one tour. The amazing culmination of this tour is the wine and tapas tasting from a gorgeous penthouse overlooking València was beyond superlatives. If we thought Sharin was a brilliant tour guide, she’s an even better sommelier! We enjoyed and learned about several Valèncian regional wines with views to amaze and tapas to delight. I can’t recommend this tour too highly. Thank you Sharin and Sea Saffron for giving us memories of Valencia that will stay with us forever.

Bogi,our guide picked us up at the cruise port which was very helpful since the port is a distance from old town. We traveled by private car to old town where we had an excellent walking tour and Bogi included the Silk Exchange at our request. Next we took a cab to the City of Arts and Science and walked through the public buildings. We ended at Sea Saffron’s penthouse for unbelievably delicious tapas with wine parings. We returned to the ship via taxi All taxi rides were arranged and paid for by the tour. This was an incredible experience. It was a highlight of our trip. Bogi was amazing. She knows her history and shares in an understandable way. Highly recommended!!

We had such a wonderful tour with Sharin. She knew so much about Valencia, its history and culture, and she was a fabulous guide. The tapas were so delicious and the wine tasting really helped us understand more about the wines of the Valencian region - again Sharin was a great guide to these! The location for eating and drinking was amazing with stunning views of the whole city and from the mountains to the port. I would higly recommend this tour and in particular Sharin as your guide. Dani greeted us on time and we felt as if we were seeing his city as his friends, not his customers. Dani was considerate and so very helpful. The tapas and wine were delicious and, even there, Dani taught us more about his country and culture. The views of the city were spectacular. This was the very best use of our cruise ship stop in Valencia!

This tour was amazing! We started with Old Valencia and made our way into New Valencia for a full city tour. Top it off with amazing views, food and wine! I never write reviews but this is a must do! 12/10 Recommend!

A highly personalized tour of beautiful old town and arts & sciences areas of beautiful Valencia . This casual walking tour was topped off by a lovely wine tasting and tapas experience with a commanding view of the city and coastline! Just as advertised we were picked up at the cruise terminal on time and returned to ship by private driver. Our English speaking guide ‘Sharin’ was delightful and seemed to enjoy herself as much as my wife and me. Avoid large tour groups and choose these folks.

Absolutely WONDERFUL tour. Daniel could not have been more accommodating. The tour of the city was amazing, but the star of the show was the tapas. We were on the 33rd floor terrace, private balcony with panoramic views all around. We had at least 11 different tapas, with 5 kinds of wine….ALL fabulous!!! I’d love to do this tour again with Daniel!! He was so knowledgeable and fun. GREAT tour guide.

Wow,Wow, Wow. What a great Tour. Daniel was our guide and was so much fun. Extremely knowledgeable about Valencia, his home town. The wine was great, the Tapas was unbelievable and so tasty. The view were amazing and breathtaking! Just go and enjoy!

Dani was great. Interesting guide. Roof top tapas and wine was an excellent experience. One area of improvement would be to made tour description clear that taxis were to be used for transportation. Also should have gotten a larger taxi to fix our entire party of 6 rather than splitting us up into two taxis. With tour guide in one of the taxis, it was very tight. Dani did fix that on the subsequent taxi rides.

We had a wonderful day with Sharin. Our group was just two couples. Sharin was informative and interactive throughout. We had a great walking tour through the historic area of Valencia and also the beautiful City of Arts and Sciences. Transportation from our ship and during the tour was high quality. The Tapas and wine at the end were over the top! Served in a private room overlooking the city. Food and wine were outstanding and seemingly never ending, maybe 9 different Tapas. After the tour we really didn’t need dinner! We chose this tour instead of tours available from our ship. It was an excellent value and high quality. Sharin is the best!

We have been on many tours around the world and this was, by far, the best! Our guide was fabulous. The city tour was very well thought out and the tapas and wine part was wonderful beyond all expectations!
