This is easily the best hotel in Valencia. After losing my AirPods, Aida and Leslie travelled up and down the hotel looking for them and finally found them and got it to me. The most hospitable people you could meet

At first glance, the hotel looks good, even very good. The reception, restaurant, and lobby are nice. However, the rooms leave a bit to be desired. They aren't terrible, but I'm not sure if they meet a 4-star standard, and the same goes for the hotel as a whole. There is no wardrobe in the room to organize your clothes, and it even lacks a toilet brush. We requested two single beds and technically got them, but we could only move them about 10 cm apart because the shelves built into the bed frame got in the way. Our friends in another room managed to move their beds, but we couldn't because they wouldn't fit. The hotel staff eventually moved our friends' beds back anyway, but let's just say that wasn't a huge issue. However, the beds themselves were hard and uncomfortable. I suspect the air conditioning is dirty or has some mold, because I've been sick for over a week now, and I rarely ever get sick. The stairwell corridor smells bad. One elevator is partially broken—it works, but it doesn't go to odd floors, and we happened to be on the 7th floor. There was a youth camp or school trip staying on our floor. They left leftover food and wrappers in the hallway, making the corridor outside our rooms smell bad too, and the hotel staff did very little to address it. As for the staff, no one speaks English except for the receptionists and maybe the bartender. The pool is small, much smaller than it looks in the pictures. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, but nothing is happening around there, and it's far from everything. I wouldn't exactly recommend this hotel, but it's not tragic either—it works well enough as a simple base just to sleep. That being said, the price wasn't bad at all considering the city and the country. My 3-star rating might be a bit generous, but I'm not sure if it was terrible enough to give it less. The fact that the city itself is beautiful definitely makes up for it a bit.
The hotel is very is ideally located and within walking distance of the metro and tram. This is our second time here and we were slightly disappointed. There was no storage for clothes in the room and we overlooked a building sight. The restaurant food was very hit and miss and we were served cold chicken and vegetables which we had to back twice and still charged. Overall the staff were very attentive and helpful. The pool is nice but very small for such a large clientele.
Overall a big shoutout to Aida, such a lovely member of staff, super helpful and welcoming. Regarding the hotel I think it is far from a 4 star hotel, it’s a 3 star hotel at most. We had issues with the toilet flush not flushing, the lifts literally all not working and faulty. Opening hours of the pool only between 11am-7pm which I think could be extended, parking isn’t free you need to pay €16 per day, the reception and hotel has a fishy smell. The rooms are also very outdated. On our last day we had to walk through our corridor to Illunion hotel 3 in order to take a lift down to the lobby because the lifts weren’t working in Illunion 4!
Overall we had a good stay but I felt the rooms, amenities and services on offer were more of a 3* hotel. Pros- The staff were friendly, and the lobby and bar/restaurant area are nicely decorated and well kept. - The pool was supposed to open mid June for the summer season but the May weather was so warm they opened it earlier. Nice patio area to relax outside. - Room was quiet, and bed was comfortable. -Location was great, we could easily access the old town, and all sightseeing spots. Lots of restaurants and cafes in the area, and 2 supermarkets close by. Cons-The rooms were tired, and no basic amenities like most 4* hotels would provide. No kettle or coffee machine. Complimentary water in fridge but we didn't get this refilled everyday. No amenities (such as cotton wool, shower cap etc) in bathroom, but a small note saying you can ask for bathroom essentials at reception. For the additional money paid to stay at a 4* it would be nice to have at least tea or coffee available in the rooms as a gesture of hospitality. Even in the lobby you have to pay to use a Nespresso machine, only water is complimentary. It was a contrast to another hotel we passed by (also 4*) that had a full tea/coffee/juice stand available for all guests. - Housekeeping was spotty, when we arrived we found layers of dust over the bedside lamp areas, and hair in the shower. Little details were overlooked We got a different amount of towels each time, and the complimentary water wasn't always refilled. The shampoo and shower gel was also running out and wasn't refilled our whole stay so obviously wasn't checked. - We asked for a iron, which was provided, but no ironing board. We made do, but it was awkward and the iron kept leaking. - Information for bar menus, restaurant timings etc are all mainly through QR codes, which we were fine with but could be a struggle for those less tech friendly. We had friends doing an apartment stay nearby and they were provided drinks, snacks and full bathroom amenities. We paid substantially more than them, and booked in advance and had less gestures of hospitality. Overall an ok stay, and great location but definitely not to the standard and cost expected for a 4*.
