I would call this more of a nature drive with a great steak dinner with your fellow travelers versus a full blown whiskey tour. We did taste three whiskeys along the way, but it wasn’t really the focus of the tour. You can definitely go on this tour if you’re not into whiskey; two members of our group didn’t even drink the whiskey. Regardless, it was a wonderful afternoon/evening of driving, seeing gorgeous scenery, and learning about the history and nature of the area. Luis was a great driver and cook. We stopped at different scenic overlooks and got to take a short walk along the shore of Lake Fagnano, seeing horses, several species of hawks, beavers, and other animals along the way. The communication with the tour operator was also really good, including when our interpreter, Brian, kept us informed of a short delay in our pickup time. I’d do this tour again.

Itinerary
We depart from the Kaitek Viajes office towards the different hotels to pick up our passengers. Then we will head towards the point of our first descent.
Our first descent will be to taste a peat-associated whiskey, which we will do by delighting ourselves with the beauties of one of the world's largest peat bogs, the "Tierra Mayor" valley. We will do it in the Carbajal Valley. At that moment we will take the opportunity to learn about the properties of the "Single Grain" expression of our premium Patagonian product "Paso de las Piedras"
We are holding our second tasting here, of a mountain whiskey, which is the "Rye" expression of our Patagonian premium product "Paso de las Piedras." It is a high-altitude whiskey in the middle of wonderful views of the Escondido and Fagnano lakes. Then we will descend National Route 3 (October to May), and in the middle of the way, off-road, we will descend to taste again with water from a waterfall, which will allow the flavors to open up through the contribution of pure water to the whiskey. It is an exclusive and unique experience at the end of the world.
Upon arriving at our refuge at Estancia La Carmen, in front of Lake Fagnano, we will do the tasting of the third expression, with the explanatory seminar on it. The tasting will be much more enjoyable by doing it along Lake Fagnano, with beautiful views, and the necessary infrastructure to have the best time. It is the "Blended" expression of our Patagonian product "Paso de las Piedras". All of this accompanied by an "Argentine Picada" of salami and cheese. Meanwhile, we will be preparing an Argentine barbecue and conditioning our refuge to the heat of the lenga embers.
At the Estancia La Carmen facilities, we will get a firsthand look at the history of a pioneering family from Tierra del Fuego, as well as enjoy the rich history of a museum of Fuegian pioneers. Finally, we can walk along Lake Fagnano, take photos from one of the site's piers, and relax in the beautiful natural space of the place. At our refuge we will enjoy a rich barbecue dinner, with drinks, salads, dessert, and coffee. Previously, you can use the restrooms and enjoy Lake Fagnano, and all the facilities. The place invites us to relax and have a beautiful end to the day.
Once the activities are finished, we will return to Ushuaia.

Outstanding Whiskey & Ranch Experience in Ushuaia We had a fantastic tour with Brian and Facundo in Ushuaia. The whiskey tour was excellent, and the absolute highlight was cooking fresh meat and chorizo over hot coals at a beautiful ranch—an unforgettable experience. Brian was extremely knowledgeable and shared great insights throughout the day, while Facundo was a skilled driver and an incredible cook. Everything was well organised, relaxed, and authentic. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Ushuaia and looking for something truly special.
Great tour of the Tierra del Fuego National Park led by Mario and Bryan with local whiskey tasting. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, the scenery was spectacular, capped off by an incredible asado to include charcuterie and Malbec. Highly recommended if you’re in Ushuaia and want to experience the “end of the world” outside city limits.
It started with whiskey tasting, hardcore off road driving, amazing views and ended with an unbelievable asado in a refugee next to the lake… excellent experience! Will remember it for ever!
You don’t go to the place pictured, the lake estacia is better!! Best of all was spending the day, and sharing a delectable meal with two locals.
This tour was well worth the time and money. Gabriel was an expert driver, attentive and an excellent chef. Bryan was very knowledgeable about Whiskey and had a wealth of information. We highly recommend this experience. The guide and drive gave us very personal attention.
I booked this excursion to celebrate my birthday. I got stuck at another location in the city so I messaged the tour operator an hour before pick up to see if they could possibly pick me up from there. They did! And, they also offered to rebook my excursion for the next day just in case they were unable to pick me up. We had a good driver and an English speaking guide who took us around to 2 lakes where we could take pictures and taste different whiskeys. The highlight of the tour was our steak and sausage dinner with grilled vegetables and a salad that the driver had made, which was great!
After wondering what to do during our layover in Ushuaia before our excursion to Antarctica, we thought we might as well drink. With no expectations other than trying whiskeys, we quickly realized that this excursion would be so much more. What we didn’t know when we booked this tour was that our guides would take us off the beaten path to places where we could talk culture, see the amazing views of Tierra del Fuego, and of course drink good whiskey. After seeing so many breathtaking sites, we were treated to a homestyle asado meal in Fagnano lake and enjoyed the company of our guides. This was one of the best ways to enjoy an afternoon in Ushuaia and surrounding areas without chartering a large tour bus or having to rent a car. We drank and ate heartily and sincerely enjoyed the company of our Argentinian host.
This was great fun. Driver, guide, and fellow passengers made the trip. A rigorous ride with multiple stops and tastings. The grilled steaks and chorizo were a terrific touch. We bought a bottle along the way adding to the experience.
Dinner cooked by Driver. Took us to remote places to enjoy Whiskey provided. Enjoyed scenery and company.
Three strangers with shared passions of adventure travel, good food, and hearty drinks. Recipe for at least a good time. Our guide Lucas and driver Gustavo, drove back roads of Ushuaia, prepared grilled steak, and instructed us of 3 varieties of scotch. By the end of the day we were all great friends. A wonderful travel experience.
This was a truly unique experience. I was able to learn about the history of Tierra del Fuego while sampling whiskey. The evening before the tour, I was contacted and given a pick up time. The guide arrived right on schedule. The group was small and we traveled in a 4x4. The ride was very comfortable and the guide had a headset/mic connected to the radio that made hearing him during the ride extremely easy. On one of my favorite stops, we took some of the fresh water tumbling down a waterfall and added it to our whiskey. As the guide explained, adding a few drops of water allowed the whiskey to "open up" and we could taste the difference before and after adding the water. Another stop let us learn about a local family's history with the area. They had a small museum on site describing their journey and way of life. It was full of personal antidotes and fun stories. Plus, one of the family members was there and available for us to ask questions. The property was beautiful and we had time to wander around. Our last stop was dinner at a local restaurant right on the water. The views and food were amazing. Between the small group tour, the whiskey, and the food, it was definitely worth the money. I'd not only recommend this tour to friends, I'd probably take it again if I'm ever in the area.
A different and very good experience. Mixing whiskey tasting with the beautiful landscapes of this place is something I recommend. The driver-guide, Pancho, knows what he is talking about and they always help you feel comfortable, and the sommelier (Brian) helped me understand whiskey from production to tasting and I understood the world of whiskey better. I totally recommend it
4x4, Garibaldi Pass, lakes, 3 varieties of whiskey, roast beef and chorizo, friendly people and super driving Mauro, thank you ❤️

An unrivalled experience! From an adrenaline-filled tour in the 4x4 with the great Gabriel, who is the driver, guide, cook. Laughter, talks, anecdotes, unexplained scenery, stops for the tasting with unforgettable views, the whiskey experience by Luis' genius. REALLY A PREMIUN SERVICE. I'LL BE BACK IN WINTER! 100X 100 RECOMMENDABLE!
1- não indico este passeio. 2- estávamos em 6 passageiros e todos não gostaram do passeio. 3- muito fraco roteiro. 4- desculpem, mas foi horrível.
The place was beautiful felt a lot of peace and the views are spectacular. The people are very nice and the service as such is excellent a worthwhile experience.
Super recommended! We taste 3 single malt whiskeys in reference points of each tasting! Label descriptions have great added value if enjoyed this way! Thanks guys! ❤️
Absolutely recommended!!! We met immense landscapes and paired them with excellent premium Whiskies. Lucas's guidance was impeccable.
