This was a great tour, beginning with an hour or so tour of the city, and then traveling to the national park where we made several stops, including the end of the Pan-American Highway, which begins in Alaska. The tour guide, Leo, was excellent and full of really interesting information about the area. One of the things we really liked about this tour was that there was a driver and a guide, allowing the guide to stay engage the entire time while the driver focused on the driving. The length, at five hours, was also perfect for us as we were able to grab lunch back in town before heading back to the cruise ship.

Juan has lots of insight that helped us understand all that the National Park had to offer. He tried his best to communicate in English and we could understand almost everything he said.
Wow. What an epic day. We had a private 5 hour tour booked. Our tour guide, David, showed up at 8am. We were going to all the sites in town and beyond. As we were driving my husband said he wanted to do helicopter tour but wasn’t sure if this would be possible. David made it possible. Within 3 hours we were on a helicopter. Our guide went beyond what was expected and we most certainly appreciated it! I highly recommend you book a tour with David, our new friend!
Juan was a great guide. Exactly where he said he would give and considerate in getting the car, providing local snacks and water. Like having a knowledgable friend show you his town and region. The roads are bumpy but he did his best. We asked for frequent restroom stops and he did just that. I wanted a great empanada so he took us to his favorite shop. My husband had a tiny misshapen and Juan was very responsive. A lovely way to see the park and Ushuaia.
Juan was a wealth of knowledge on everything Ushuaia - history, plants, animals, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him, and he kept us away from crowded buses. So we got to enjoy our time with the sounds of nature and moving at our own pace. Wish we had more time to spend in Ushuaia. We would definitely request Juan again.
The national park is beautiful. Dave was my guide and I would highly recommend him. Very knowledgeable and friendly
Knowledgeable guide, great private tour experience. The alfajores he gave us were the best we’ve ever had!
We booked a private tour to accommodate our request for pickup from Ushuaia port and drop-off at the airport. The owner, Edgardo, maintained excellent communication from start to finish, demonstrating great flexibility and consideration for potential ship arrival delays. Our tour guide, Juan, was outstanding. During the 5h private tour, we explored the highlights of the national park, took several short walks, and visited key spots in Ushuaia. Calaio Viajes y Turismo was the perfect choice for us in Ushuaia!
I had the absolute pleasure of touring Tierra del Fuego National Park with David while in Ushuaia, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. We started early in the morning and beat the crowds, which made for a truly magical experience—what better way to greet the earth than to be in the park as it slowly wakes up? David is incredibly knowledgeable and kind, and he took the time to answer all my questions with patience and insight. I was able to walk some trails on my own, take in the stillness, and really connect with the land. He’s a warm-hearted family man and a very safe driver, which made me feel completely at ease throughout the day. What stood out most is how adaptable and generous he is—he truly tailors the experience to you. We ended up planning another outing together, and he took me to an amazing seafood lunch at El Frontón in Puerto Almanza. He never rushed me, let me take all the photos I wanted, and even stayed in touch during my time in Ushuaia to offer advice and suggestions on things to do. David started the day as my guide and ended as a friend. If you’re heading to Ushuaia, do yourself a favor and book time with him—you won’t regret it.
Guide was awesome and showed us some wonderful views and wildlife. Overall, it was a welll-planned chance to experience Ushuaia area. I recommend highly.
We had an ahhhhmazing time with Juan our guide. He was so knowledgeable of the park and took us to sooo many great places where we could hike. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. He was so accommodating!! We would highly recommend this tour!!
Our tour started on a bad note with the guide waiting for us at the Port instead of picking us up at the hotel. The customer service hotline of this company rectified that and 45 minutes later- our guide arrived, David. It was a communication error on their end. The tour went on smoothly. Our guide was very professional and provided good info, etc on the sites we visited. I highly recommend them. On a minor note, we wished the car was cleanner.
We had a nice tour around Ushuaia except for the fact that we were expecting a tour guide -- instead we had a driver to drive us around. It turns out its more expensive to have a tour guide inside Tierra Del Fuego than just to have a driver -- so he cannot leave his car and we were left to do the tour on our own.
Outstanding tour of Ushuaia. David was our driver and tour guide. He was waiting for us at the cruise dock with a sign when we arrived. He spoke excellent English and provided a wonderful itinerary including some items in the city and a viewing spot for a glacier and a beautiful lagoon with a snow capped mountin backdrop.. We stopped at a lovely tea cafe where we enjoyed hot chocolate. However, the main event was the National Park which David knows very well. All of the stops were unique and scenic. We learned a lot about the people and culture of the Patagonian region from David. Outstanding day with money well spent on this experience.
We enjoyed the private tour because we could decide not too make long stops in certain places because we like to walk or even hike . We needed to ask a lot of questions to get information from the guide but he did answer all of them.
Saw national park , end of world train, lakes and lovely scenery. Our driver, David, was very polite and accommodating.
Tierra del Fuego National Park is a "must see" when traveling in Ushuaia. Juan, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the historic and natural history of the park and important to me was his knowledge of the local plants, animals and especially the birds. Would recommend Juan for anyone!
Couldn't have asked for a better day. Visited all of the highlights in Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego National Park. So much better than doing the same with a larger group as I was able to tailor the itinerary to exactly what suited me. Additionally, David was a pleasure to get to know and spend the day with.
We had a very nice time in Ushuaia. Communication with the tour operator was quick and reliable. Pick up was on time at the indicated location. No hassles! Our tour guide was very nice and tailored the experience to our interests. We were hoping to catch the foliage change of color and do some hiking. We enjoy doing this as a family activity back home. We were very happy to visit at this time of the year. It was so beautiful!
The end of world post office as well the walks in the National Park!! Our tour guide David had left us plenty of flexibility during the tour, the interpretation was also clearcut, thank you! We had a great time!
WOW! This was a truly excellent experience. Our guide was there when we arrived and took us directly to the national park. We had some extra time so he suggested some trails and gave us a chance to explore on our own. He timed everything so we were ahead of the majority of tours and tour busses - so we had a short line at the post office and even made it back to the port with enough time to eat a nice lunch. I would give this tour and the tour guide ten stars if I could.
We loved our tour in Ushuaia... The nature in the national park is outstanding. You'll enjoy the post office. However still waiting to receive our postcards... They are quite far indeed. Our guide was really kind and friendly. He took us to several parts of the city, not visited by the tour buses, to get different views of this city at the end of the world!
Amazing nature at the southern tip of South America. Tour guide was knowledgeable and drove us in a comfortable van. Glad we chose a private tour for 4 instead of the large group cruise tour. The only disappointment was that it was Sunday and many stores and restaurants were closed and those open were packed.
David was a terrific guide. He met us with a sign when we got off the ship (earlier than scheduled). He knew where to take us but also freely adjusted to our priorities. He spoke English well and translated wherever needed.
This was a fantastic day. Great intro to Ushuaia, Patagonia, and Argentina, in addition to specifics of the National Park. An incredible guide - knowledgeable, interesting, and so nice. Great itinerary, information, and easy pace. Great snack stop with hot drinks on a cool day! Bonus was the red fox that wanted to steal our snacks!
Walks thru various section of park. A great experience. Such a beautiful place. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Florence was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable. We were in a van with plenty of space for our group of 4. She came with printed references and photographs of the flora and fauna, the history of the natives and spoke excellent English over a microphone so no struggling to hear. She tailored the experience to our interests. Strongly recommend.
We had a delightful tour with a young lady that was extremely knowledgeable on the area, culture and the country. I wish I had written her name down but hopefully she reads the review and will respond. Found out she had been a park ranger in Puerto Madryn, a port we had been to prior to this tour. While 1 day isn't enough she did a great job showing us the highlights.
The scenery in Tierra del Fuego was beautiful; however perhaps even more amazing was the city itself. I was shocked to see the size of what I thought was a small outpost. Our guide, Manuel, was great and after our visit thru the park he took us residential as well as historical/commercial areas, and then dropped us off in the bustling downtown next to the port. Who'd have the thought this southernmost establishment in the world would have so much going on. Really an amazing surprise was Ushuaia!
Trip is not much to see and finish in three hours. It is not worth it for $620. They have this type of tour for $150.
Had a nice time cruising the city and the national parks. The guide had some good history and insights about the area. I think a few more little bits of information about the places we passed as we drive, would make it more enjoyable
A beautiful national park. Well worth the trip. Rivers, streams, and fields of flowers. A wonderful lake was at the end of the road with trails all around it.
We had a limited time to see the park and Usuaia before our expedition. Dave spoke English and was very personable. He was interesting and knowledgeable…flexible to meet our time. It was an excellent experience!
Our private group of four enjoyed touring the various areas of Tierra del Fuego National Park. We had plenty of time to visit each area and enjoyed a walk through the forest to the viewpoint at Lapataia Bay. We had ample time for photo opportunities. Our only concern about this tour was that there was miscommunication between the travel agency and our guide about the sign to identify our group. After waiting more than 30 minutes and searching for the sign with our names on it, we approached a guide holding a sign and asked who he was waiting for. He was holding a sign that said "Cala Tour #2" but not "Ann Hodder Group" as we had been told. After some discussion we determined that he was in fact waiting for us. This caused us to have to shorten our city tour in order to be back at our cruise ship on time for departure. The guide was quite knowledgeable and shared lots of information about Ushuaia's history, geology, flora and fauna. Our driver was excellent and kept us safe throughout the excursion. It was the miscommunication at the start of the trip that kept this from being a 5 star experience.
Excellent communication with local tour operator. Provided details of the tour, stayed in touch day prior and day of our. Driver arrived promptly at port terminal. Driver served as guide. Decent English. Touched on the key points in the area, at our own pace. Very enjoyable experience.
No regrets about taking a private tour to TdFNP as we were able to skip the lines and see what we wanted to in the brief time we had in Ushuaia. Our guide was energetic, kind, informative, and knew all the tricks to get in as much as possible. At the end of our tour, we were provided photos he took by the tour operator. Great experience!
Juan served as our guide for 3 days in Ushuaia. He was incredible — first, as a native of Ushuaia, he seemed to personally know everyone from the chef in a restaurant, to the guard/ranger at the National Park to the people running the Boats — you get the idea. He also know the town backwards and forwards. We went to great stop offs for short hikes in the National Park which suited us well. We also went to the dog sledding, Port Almanza and on a boating navigation trip. He picked us up at the airport and dropped us off — always on time and always exuding warmth and enthusiasm. Ask for Juan on your trip.
Grounds were plush and beatuiful weather was very interesting, Sun, Clouds, Rain, Snow, Hail all within 1/2 an hour. Enjoyable and interesting
This tour was as stated. Driver was courteous and knowledgeable. Would recommend this excursion to others.
Really loved this tour. Knowledgeable guide, wonderful sites. They knew where to be and where not to avoid the huge crowds. So worth the money. Great communication before and during the tour. Highly recommend!
Outstanding tour through the park. Our guide was very informative. He showed us all the highlights and the history of the park.
Tour guide was gracious and very knowledgeable. Lots of sights and stops. Walking involved but nothing strenuous. Easy to book.
David, our guide, was great and very helpful. He made us discover wonderful sites while leaving time to enjoy them to the fullest. We bring with us only beautiful memories of this visit
Bello il parco e carina la sosta alla sala da tè, la nostra guida era preparata e simpatica. Ho abbassato il voto perché la macchina era troppo vecchia e scassata
