A really great day away from massive turism. Together with a very small group of people we enjoyed the experience of walking in paths that only locals know. We enjoyed the best food at La Sirena y El Capitán at Puerto Almanza. The highlight was our encounter with the penguins, who were just a few metres away from us as we reached their habitat by inflatable boat. An unforgettable experience! Thank you "kaitek"!

Itinerary
Departure from Ushuaia towards Complementary Route J
The proposal includes a breakfast on the shores of Laguna Victoria, amid an extraordinary landscape, worth contemplating. After that we will go to know the "flag tree", where we will also have wonderful views of the Beagle Channel and the Chilean islands
We will go to one of the most iconic sites in the area, the famous "Flag Tree." We will descend here to contemplate the landscape, the wonderful natural environment, and we will have the opportunity to take the best panoramic photos of the islands and islets, the Beagle Channel, and the Chilean islands. Similarly, we can take photos and learn about why the vegetation in this particular site has that shape.
Then, we headed to the village of Puerto Almanza, a small fishing village located on the east coast of the Beagle Channel, 75 km from the city of Ushuaia. The name of the place comes from a sawmill that operated in the area between the 40s and 50s. Once in Puerto Almanza we are going to contemplate the beauties of the place, get to know the local port and the characteristic and used crab traps to catch the famous crustacean. We will also walk towards the canyons that were installed as a result of the conflict with Chile's brother country.
Then, we will have our reservation ready to be delighted with the most original local dishes, along the Beagle Channel. From Sea to Table. Once in the restaurant, you can taste the best fresh fish dishes from the Beagle Channel. As an appetizer, chef's seafood or the famous "Chupe de Centolla." Then we can have lunch the variety of fish from the Beagle Channel. We include dessert and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
After lunch, we will experience the unique experience of navigating in customized boats to Martillo Island, to contemplate and coexist in harmony with Magellanic and Papuan penguins for more than 30 minutes. The penguin colony is the habitat they choose to live in, since there they feel the protection and the natural conditions necessary to reproduce and nest. Between the months of October to April we can enjoy both colonies, while the rest of the year the Papuan penguins remain. A natural environment where you can enjoy the penguins very closely.
Departure from Puerto Almanza bound for Ushuaia. Upon arriving in Ushuaia, we will leave all passengers at their accommodations.

The people, food, and penguins were amazing. However, you're basically overpaying for a private taxi to and from the penguins, plus lunch. In fact the penguin tour is a completely separate company. There is no "4x4" part of the excursion. We were in an all wheel drive SUV along the same pot-holed road as a Toyota Corolla.
Our guide was great, the penguins were great and the meal of seafood centered on king crab was also great!
What a joyful guided private tour (4x4) it was. Our guide, Gabriel, was such a informative and kind. He showed and explained very well on each detail of the east side of Andes and the natural dynamics. Top of that, we have learned so much history of Ushuaia! The ride to fisherman village where is built for Argentina Navy base was smooth and fan! Delicious lunch provided along with wine! for penguin, the boat ride (1. 5hours) was very fan! The experienced pilot and a friendly assistant made us very comfortable. Great experience! What are you waiting for! It´s worthy!
Our guide was Fakando, best entertainer for English. The hand-picked centolla (crab) with butter sauce was amazing, and satisfied our cravings for the entire trip. Penguins were in season with babies, and the boat ride in the Beagle channel was sporty and fun.
This experience was eight hours, and NOT as described. They did not have an air conditioned van, instead it was a very small SUV like a Rav 4 in America, that they crammed 6 tourists plus the guide in. We were the last tourists picked up and I was forced to sit on the middle hump for more than 4 hours of car ride. Extremely uncomfortable. We stopped at the ‘lagoon’, it was freezing and the minute I stepped outside I was mauled by mosquitoes that drew blood. The guide received a call that the penguin tour was delayed so he kept us standing around for way too long in this freezing, uncomfortable spot that again had mass amounts of vicious bugs. We then loaded up and drove aimlessly to see a vacated beaver damn far out of the way. He turned around and drove us back to do the penguin tour, and a few of us had to use the restroom and it was a very hurried, crazy experience with him shouting at us to hurry up the entire time. The penguin trip was nice and the guide on that tour was great, very informative. Upon returning we were taken to the crab restaurant and had a meal with the other tourists. It was decent, not the best. We did experience the crab, it was rather tasteless but the other courses were tasty. We then loaded up for the long ride home, at which point he allowed two women to switch places which left me even less room. On top of that he kept pushing his jacked into the center console onto my lap. I just gave up pushing it back and looked forward to at least being the first couple dropped off. But instead of just dropping us off, the guide with more than a half tank of gas, pulls into a busy gas station and we sit there 15 minutes so he can fill the tank on OUR time. Needless to say, this was not what we signed up for nor was it consistent with other reviews. I would skip this one. My back still hurts from being jammed into that ridiculously small car. Very subpar experience for a lot of money.
The food is very good. The Penguins don’t seem to care that there are people in a boat on the shore taking their pictures. I never thought that there was a bottom of the planet, but I guess we were there!
Dario qas an awesome guide. He had many stories to tell. Despite the weather with snow, we had safe memorable journey. I strongly recommend
We did the King Crab Route, with an excursion to the penguin colony. It was an incredible experience, full of adventure and excitement, from the 4x4 tour along rugged and winding roads, wonderful landscapes and appreciating the penguins from the shore was exciting. We had seafood, king crab, and a variety of fish with vegetables for lunch, everything very delicious and abundant. The driver-guide was very kind, he served us a country breakfast on the shores of Laguna Victoria. Thank you!! We would choose Kaitek again without hesitation.
The best experience of my life...Excellent Pancho (guide), a native who knows and speaks with passion about his lands, kind, respectful, and he also prepares the best chocolate for you at La Victoria..Araceli and her king crab, majestic, the food surrenders at her feet...incredible...flavors that will always remain with me. The guys from the navigation tell you everything that happens there..and as if that were not enough..the penguins that come to greet you...every detail makes it the best day of your life and makes it worth having lived it..Thanks to everyone .🇦🇷 Andrea Barrios...
The penguin colony and king crab route 4x4 experience was like a movie, a unique experience lived in this part of the planet, the guide was very kind and had a good attitude, I recommend it to everyone!!!
Excellent 4x4 experience to Puerto Almanza. Spectacular food in a very warm local restaurant.
The penguin island is highly recommended.
Too good! Everything excellent again, super punctual, the guide was very helpful and attentive. We really had a very good time today.
Excellent experience, it was totally worth coming to Ushuaia. The landscapes, the animals, the food, and the service from Luis and Araceli were very good. Highly recommended!
Excellent experience, the guide Luis was the best, patient, with very good knowledge of the region, the fauna, and the flora. The landscapes, the fauna, and the food were the best. It exceeded all our expectations. Super with KAITEK VIAJES USHUAIA
Thank you, Pancho! Excellent person, I went with my dad (85!) and you made it very easy for me. Attentive and helpful at all times. Everyone is very cool!
Excellent experience, lots of interesting information, and great warmth from the guide who accompanied us.
Excellent experience! Everything super organized. We had a wonderful time!
We had an amazing day with our Polish family who are visiting us. Gabriel, our driver and guide, was great, all the time he was describing the places and stopping to enjoy the scenery and take photos. We had lunch in Puerto Almaza, all very rich, especially the centolla a la butter We complete the tour by boarding the penguin boat, where we reach the coast and enjoy the penguins inches from us. An amazing experience and highly recommended!!
Very good, although I expected to interact with the penguins but well, I don't think I read the fine print. The ride was up to scratch all the q said we're gonna do it we did it
The truth is speechless the escursion was wonderful 10 is little I recommend it 100 percent and the best is guide Gustavo a genius and a wonderful person and the food no ablate
This experience is very complete, you are picked up at your hotel, you visit a lake, you do a minitrakking, you visit a waterfall, you visit the port of Almanza where we were lucky to see whales, it includes a delicious and very complete lunch and you finish with what for me was the most spectacular, a trip on a boat that takes you to the island where there are penguins and you see them in their natural habitat, amazing! Our guide Gustavo, was watching us at all times, very friendly and explains everything very well! I highly recommend it! The best thing we did in Ushuaia.
