The last of the three excursions to these Patagonian parts. So I experienced it as a ‘conclusion’ to a more comprehensive experience. From the melancholy of the lake to the carefree atmosphere of La parrilla and Malbec. A huge thank to Pantso for responding to my specific interest in the history of the indigenous peoples of the region.

Itinerary
Starting point from where we look for travelers by their accommodation
4x4 trucks allow us to reach places where access would be impossible otherwise, forests, mud, stones, etc. Lake Kami or Fagnano surprises us with its dimensions and its incredible landscape. To do this, we will begin our adventure, making two stops to contemplate the landscape, Mirador del Valle Carbajal, and Paso Garibaldi.
We will be able to contemplate the landscapes that will wait for us some time later. We will descend the same to Lago Escondido, by the old trace of the National Route Number 3. In this tour, the lake is shown surrounded by lengas, capriciously appearing more and more to us.
We will start a 4x4 circuit lasting approximately 90 minutes. There we will cross the lenga forest, a path of ancient loggers, with extraordinary panoramic views. The circuit will allow you to live the off-road adventure, the greatest excitement in 4x4 vehicles. We will finish the circuit in Lake Fagnano, which we will border to reach our refuge in front of the lake. In this circuit we include a hike where we will get the best panoramic views of Lake Fagnano
Once the circuit is finished, we will have time to contemplate the beauties of Lake Fagnano, and the facilities of Estancia La Carmen, while our experienced guides prepare a rich roast. You can taste a snack of salami and cheese beforehand, and many delicacies that will accompany lunch at our refuge.
After lunch we will return to Ushuaia and take each traveler to their accommodation

My two friends and I had an absolutely amazing experience! Everything went seamlessly, from being picked up at our Airbnb to all the activities throughout the excursion. Our guide, Poncho, was the best! He was calm, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely kind, making the entire experience even more memorable. We are currently studying abroad in Argentina and traveled from the United States, so we decided to visit Ushuaia for a weekend getaway. We ended up booking this excursion at the last minute, and it was worth every penny! We made so many unforgettable memories, and being able to share this adventure with my best friends made it even more special. I couldn’t recommend this experience enough, especially with Poncho as your guide!
Had a great time on this excursion with our guide and driver Brian and Francisco. Meal was excellent, great views of the lakes.
Very warm atmosphere, clean new car, nice music. Dive into the breathtaking beauty of local landscapes. Delicious food in nice company.
Our guide was our driver and chef as well. We got to see some nice views if the Tierra del Fuego area and learn about it's history. Later we stopped and had a well made barbecue style lunch which was modest but tasteful and delicious
If you have limited time in Ushuaia, and want to take in the amazing scenery around the town, this is the tour for you. This 4x4 adventure takes you over The Andes to see various beauty spots along the way, such as Lake Fagnano (which is stunning!). The day ends with a filling 3 course lunch. Our guide was very attentive, giving both Spanish and English clients equal time. He was driver, tour guide, and chef, and was great at all of the activities. Would recommend. I travelled with Kaitek Viajes (via TripAdvisor).
Our guide Gaby was really knowledgeable about the area and the history as well as a great cook. The landscapes were gorgeous, our walk in the forest was lovely, complete with horses by the side of the track, the lakeside by the ranch was so beautiful. It was a great day!!!
We really enjoyed this tour. Our driver/ guide Gabriel was very knowledgeable and answered/ explained every question anyone asked. We were 6 people in the vehicle, excluding the guide, but I, being 164cm tall, was very comfortable right in the back. The lunch with Chorizo sausage, salami, cheese, fresh bread, salad steak and wine was the best meal we have had on our trip. We highly recommend this tour!
Really liked the tour. Food was great, beautiful scenery, and not rushed and very relaxing. The tour guide was very knowledgeable as well about local history
We had a wonderful tour through the mountains of Ushuaia with a fantastic guide. The scenery at Lago Fagnano was breathtaking. As a highlight, our guide grilled something simple but incredibly delicious for us. We highly recommend this tour.
Gabrial was the best guide ever. He tailored our trip to the lakes to suit everyone and the weather. His commentary in 2 languages was excellent and informative. More like a good friend taking you on a tour than just a guide. And he laid on croissant and hot chocolate in case we perished from hunger.
Gabi was the very best guide we had in Ushuaia: well educated with broad knowledge of biology, history, geology, very friendly and interesting person. Absolutely recommend.
We had an incredible experience on the 4x4 adventure tour! The landscapes were stunning, the itinerary was well planned, and we felt safe and well taken care of throughout the entire journey. Our driver, Louis, was outstanding — not only skilled behind the wheel, but also an amazing grill master. The lunch he prepared was one of the highlights of our trip, especially the perfectly cooked meat and the fresh king crab. It was such a thoughtful and memorable touch, far beyond what we expected on a tour like this. Our guide/translator added so much value with clear explanations, interesting history, and local insights that truly brought the region to life. Their warmth, humor, and genuine passion for what they do made the whole day unforgettable. This tour exceeded all expectations — beautiful sights, great company, fantastic food, and a unique way to experience the area. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Ushuaia!
Scenic and pleasant experience of driving across the Andes, some off road 4WD, 2 lakes and a great lunch
I will start off with the good. 1. Lake Escondido and Fagnano were both amazing to see 2. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable 3. They made a great steak lunch at Lake Fagnano The bad 1. The vehicle is really only suitable for two tourists. Myself and my wife were there as was another couple. That meant three of us were cramped in the center seat and someone had to sit in basically the trunk of the 4WD car, with low ceiling and no views. After several head bumps and not being able to see anything we pressured the guides to have one of them sit in the back and one of us to sit in the front passenger seat. They were reluctant to do this, but eventually agreed. 2. There was too much time spent at Lake Fagnano. After lunch there was nothing to do and it was somewhat boring just hanging out there. The lake view was great, but it was only entertaining for so long. 3. The tour could easily be an hour shorter and should be limited to 2 or maybe 3 people. You could do 4 tourists if they only had one guide - which they probably could do. There wasn't a strong need for two guides.
In addition, the car for five people was uncomfortable, especially the two back seats. The meal did not include everything mentioned (coffee, dessert). The tour guide turned out to be excellent, providing us with a lot of information about the area.
Lucas our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept everyone in the small group engaged, in two languages. The tour was interesting, with the visit to the lake being the highlight.
The views were amazing, the tour guide was very nice and had a lot of knowledge of the area. The food, wine and drinks were great. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone visiting Ushuaia, it’s a different way of seeing and enjoying the area without having to do the trekking trails.
A wonderful trip!. Jorge our driver was really nice and lunch was a plus. The place at Lake fagnano was a plus and the lunch was really good. Jorge, thanks for a wonderful trip!
Fun day out exploring off-road area around hidden lake and lake Fagnano. Motorcycle museum and gin distillery were an added bonus. Our driver Alan was skillful on the very bumpy 4 wheel drive tracks. He was so very informative about the area's nature and geology and a great cook of our BBQ lunch with Argentinian Malbec at the hut at Lake Fagnano. Fabulous way to see area around Ushuaia, thanks😄
A fun trip visiting two lakes via 4WD. Nice BBQ lunch at the second lake. Our Adam was great. Would recommend
Totally professional and fun! Adam was an amazing tour guide. He explained everything perfectly with such knowledge and you could tell he loves not only his job but also Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego. He helped my mother when she needed it. The lunch we had was spectacular. He grilled steaks to our liking and they were delicious! His knowledge and driving ability (handling the vehicle in sometimes treacherous conditions) were 5 Star. Don’t miss out and I hope you get Adam as your guide.
A fun day traveling to Lake Fagano and going off road a bit. Excellent lunch prepared by our guide Adam which was amazing. Highly recommend
A wonderful day in the mountain offroading and enjoying the lakes. The barbeque lunch was delicious. Adam was an awesome driver/guide.
Very nice day. Our guide Lucas was very knowledgeable and friendly, we visited some very nice places. Asado was delicious. The only thing for me is that I like more "active" excursion, but that's just a personal preference.
Great experience with our guide Matius, who was our guide, driver, and chef for the afternoon. He was very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna, took us through some great countryside, and then served up a tasty asado to two rather fussy eaters. Luckily we were the only 2 passengers, as I thik a full jeep would be rather cramped. Thanks Matis, you've earned your chefs apron!
All good. Christian the driver was extremely knowledgeable. Great pictures. Maybe could do with a bit more front vision when doing the off road part.
The 4X4 tour is excellent! The experience is truly amazing! So fun, exciting & eye opening. Lunch was cozy & we were well fed. Felt truly welcomed by the tour guide & the country.
You visit a little place with motorcycles where you also have the opportunity to try some local gin, you stop at one viewpoint, and then you have lunch at a lake…that is the entire six-hour program. Essentially, it’s a drive to have lunch. The tour guides are in charge of making lunch and cleaning up, so you spend three hours in a little hut, or walking around a farm at the lake, for that time. It was very underwhelming. The official program mentions brunch and then lunch, there is only lunch. Also, the meat was very overcooked, so it was extremely tough. There were also two cars, so we spent a lot of time waiting for the other group to catch up.
It was a lot of fun, a good mix of sights snd sctivities, capped with a delicious traditional Argentine asado. A good experience
Great tour and amazing food. Gabriel is a great driver but mor importantly he is an amazing cook! I highly recommend this tour.
My goal was to visit and explore the lakes region near Ushuaia. This tour was amazing with Lucas our driver picking me up at 8:50am and returning me around 17:00. Did many stops for photo and the 4x4 off road experience was amazing on a road originally used before the new A3. Got the best and closest photos and video of a Red Fox. The BBQ lunch was great. Steak, sausages, baked veg and salad, .. also soft drinks, wine and a taste of orange liquor, walked through a Forrest and near beaver dams/ponds, but didn't see any beavers but did get some amazing duck photos. Stopped at the bike and gin shop/museum, for a taste and look at their displays. Over a great day, would highly recommend.
Easy to book and very well prepared experience. My girlfriend, her fifteen-year-old kid and I had the opportunity to live a true end of the world, south of Argentina experience. Gabriel is a great guide, his asado (barbecue) was delicious. From tasting the "3005", a local handcrafted and amazing gin, to admiring beautiful lakes and landscapes this activity is a must.
The 9am tour was canceled because of vehicle issues. The 3pm tour was scheduled because they did not have an English translator. I was quickly reimbursed and offered a free Spanish speaking tour. My whole day was wasted waiting.
I went solo on this tour, but it felt very family-oriented. Even though I didn't speak the language, they included me in every part and helped me understand what was going on. There were many sites to see and food and drinks to try. You truly had an Argentina/Ushuaia experience on this one.
Shoutout to Luccas, our English speaking guide, and to Gabriel, our professional off-road driver and chef. Lunch was sumptuous with steak cooked to our liking. Overall, tour felt personalized. Great staff! Plenty of stops for photo opportunities- landscape, a quaint motorcycle museum, and hiking if preferred. While lunch is prepared, plenty of free time to just immerse ourselves in the sight and sound of surrounding nature. We dined like old friends, and can’t be more glad with the unforgettable moments shared. Vehicle is clean and well-maintained considering the beat it takes from both land and water.
Gabriel and Virginia were a great team. Virginia translated all of Gabriel's knowledge and was a great guide on our walk. Fantastic BBQ cooked by Gabriel. We would highly recommend for all adventurous families wanting some exercise and fun. Xxxx
A fantastic experience! Virginia was a wonderful guide. She told us about the natural history of the Lake District. Her English is perfectly understandable, even for two first-time visitors to Ushuaia. Gabriel was equally impressive. Talented behind the wheel during our off-reading experience, he then took over as cook when we arrived at our lunch destination. An amazing asado followed. Plates of scrumptious meat cooked over a wood barbecue. The other tour participants were warm and welcoming. All in all, an unforgettable day.
This 4x4 one-day tour is fantastic! In the snowing day in ushuaia, it make us unforgettable. We sent through the forest like into a wild jungle. We also had a nice experience with the husky and moto in the snow field! Really recommend this tour for all-age person who want to have a great and happy memory in ushuaia!
Excelente Luis. Chófer y guía vaqueano
Very good experience. The 4x4 route was very enjoyable, beautiful views, and Pancho was a very good guide. The food was excellent in a very pleasant rural setting, and good wine!
We have spent a magnificent day discovering incredible places in Ushuaia. Our guide Luis is charming and he has been explaining details to us about the history and the particularities of the territory. The food was very delicious. The experience is a 10 also for the little ones. Thank you Luis!
Diego is a very good guide, he does his job with passion, which is what is needed in tourism. He gave us a lot of information that only local people know. We had a very good experience.
The guide Gabriel was impeccable. The experience is a full day and not to mention the quality of the barbecue. The stay is for relaxing and connecting with nature
Excellent 4x4 tour led by Mr. Gabriel, great guide, excellent photographer and even better chef. He prepared with his own hand an authentic Argentine barbecue with homemade seasoning, delicious! Thanks for everything
Personally, I really value experiences that include nature and are private. Our guide's accompaniment was 10/10.
Truly a recommended excursion. From the start, meeting the agreed-upon time, the driver's kindness, the whole tour well-guided, attentive to our curiosity, and at the end they treated us to a delicious barbecue. It was a wonderful experience, and we also met some very cool people. Thanks!! Choose Kaitek without hesitation.
A unique experience!! Pancho was super punctual, kind, and knew how to answer everything you asked him. The places where we stopped - each one more beautiful than the last. The La Carmen ranch is so beautiful that you didn't want to leave.... And Pancho's barbecue? Top-notch! Everyone has to take this excursion! The only shame is that it only lasted 6 hours and no longer....
It was a very pleasant day, with enchanting landscapes and great discoveries about Ushuaia. The lunch was delicious and we were very well served by the guide Gabriel, who was very attentive to us.
We had a great day and outing. Diego was an excellent guide, driver, and cook! Everything was incredible, we had a lot of fun and felt very comfortable.
