Trip was interesting and guide/driver Matias very knowledgeable and communicative (good English). The crowded 4x4 and the pressed cooked ham instead of the “Salame de Tandil” were of minor negative importance since the lunch at a country side restaurant was very good.

Itinerary
I discovered one of the most beautiful panoramic viewpoints in Ushuaia. Come discover the history of the valleys, glaciers, and winter centers.
We will have an adorable encounter meeting the famous Siberian huskies
We will visit the Garibaldi Pass, the highest point of the crossing of the Andes mountain range, where you can discover the famous "Escondido Lake".
You are going to contemplate a glacial lake framed in the Andes mountain range. Crystal clear waters with species of trout for sport fishing, beavers and a great diversity of birds. Just 57 km north of Ushuaia, in an environment of native forest where Lenga predominates. For this reason, until 2016 sawmills and timber production existed. The original sheds and the old ovens of the sawmill that offered work to professionals from Chile or the province of Misiones in Argentina, for their experience in logging.
One of the 3 largest lakes in Argentina. In our cabins equipped with bathrooms and potable water, on the shores of the lake, we will have time to enjoy a pristine place, land where the "Onas del Norte" lived, as the Yámanas Indians called the Shelknam Indians. In that same magical lake, where for many it has a very personal, energetic, and peaceful meaning, we are going to enjoy a rich platter and a Malbec wine, of course, Mendocino.
While traveling to the Great Lakes area, we will get to know this spectacular winter center, where we will enjoy a complete lunch of free lamb and salads. Menu options for vegetarians and celiacs. Drinks included. Please confirm your lunch choice when booking!!!

The ride to the lakes was very scenic. We saw huge beaver dams and an Andean condor. Our guide took good care of us. We finished the afternoon with roasted lamb and cafe de olla.
This was a very enjoyable tour seeing much of the Tierra Del Fuego countryside and Lake Escondido and Lake Fagnano. Our guide, Fagundo, was English speaking and extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed him. The 4 wheel drive part of the tour was quite a surprise at how well the vehicle did. We never felt in any kind of danger and enjoyed going through the deep mud puddles a lot. The snack and wine at Lake Fagnano was excellent. The lunch a little later was nice but I was pretty happy after the snack a little earlier so wasn't particularly hungry when we has lunch.
Had a fantastic day. Tour company made a special effort to place me with an English speaking guide. He and I chatted about everything from cars to fishing to stuff about the tour. Made the day even better! This tour is a fantastic way to spend a day.
Friendly tourism trip up the mountains with beautiful scenery and delicious food all in one package. Really get to know more about Argentina from the tour guide and I had the chance to try my new favorite wine from the Mendoza region.
A good trip. We were able to see some amazing views and travelling in a 4x4 certainly enhanced the experience. Our guide was very pleasant but didn't provide much information on the beautiful scenery and the stops. The first stop for coffee was very poor. The hot chocolate, coffee and pastries were very poor quality. The off road 4x4 part of the journey was a bit pointless and just went round in a circle, it was off road for no apparent reason other than to experience off road driving. We felt it was unnecessary and would have preferred an option to omit this. The lunch was ok but not great. The vegetarian option again was very poor. Overall this is a great trip to see some fabulous views of Patagonia but the catering fell short. We would still recommend this trip but be prepared it is not a good dining experience. Definitely needed more explanation and information.
You’ll get picked up by a 4x4 SUV, everything ok. Driver was really funny, professional and knowledgeable of the area, flora and fauna. Fagnano Lake was absolutely awesome, and the driver prepares a totally great value for money meal which includes wine, choripán and meat (he even prepared vegan option for two of the group travelers), so everything great to that point. The only issue was that tour description mentions two lakes, the Escondido Lake you only stop by at one “watch site” for around 10-15 minutes, so that shouldn’t be charged as part of the tour per se. Other than that, nice day trip.
Nice driving tour through back roads to Lake Fagnano, which is remarkably beautiful. However we wished there was more time built in to walk or hike around, most of the time was spent in the car just looking out the window. The driver didn't speak much, it would have been nice to have more explanation of what we were looking at, stories or something. They did prepare and serve a very good and plentiful asado lunch at a comfortable cabin in the woods, which was probably the highlight of the day.
Diego was an excellent guide! My husband and I were the only English speakers on the tour so we didn’t necessarily get a lot of detailed explanation about the stops but were still able to enjoy the trip, scenery and especially the lunch.
What a great day! As a solo traveller I felt comfortable and welcomed. Our guide Diego was informative and funny. The itinerary was perfect, but of driving, make a stop, repeat. The lakes were stunning and topped off with a huge, delicious lunch. We were lucky with the weather but a fantastic trip, highly recommend.
Fabulous, our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and FUN. Give him a bonus!!! Off-road was terrific and lunch was an experience!! Worth every penny!!
Our driver Freddie was very informative. We had plenty of time at each stop and he made us an incredible lunch. Full day of in the moment fun
This tour was great fun. Going off road with a skilled driver. Experiencing the wild and learning so much about Argentina and Patagonia. Great lunch too, and we even got to see a couple of grey foxes!
Fun way to experience Ushuaia - the 4x4ing was fun. The lake’s beautiful & the cabin where we had plentiful, delicious lunch had rustic charm. Our driver, Facundo was great fun with a sense of adventure & good humour!
This was an amazing tour! I had so much fun. Our guide F. was so nice and very knowledgeable. His english was excellent and he shared so much information with us. I felt very safe even on harsh roads. The lunch was excellent - grilled meat and red wine and so much more. we even got to see foxes. Best tour! Than you!
I have mixed feelings about the tour On the positive side, the guide was amazing, the group was great, the car was comfortable, and the food was delicious. Everything matched the description perfectly. However, if you’ve already done some hiking in this region, the views might not feel particularly surprising.
It was good experience stopping at multiple locations and driving through the beautiful forests. The highlight of the trip was picnic lunch by the lake. Our guide was fantastic!
I specifically booked this tour over other similar tours because of the food description, "we will enjoy the best Tandilense "Cagnoli" sausage, cheeses and a Malbec wine, of course, Mendocino. Then we will enjoy the complete lunch with Argentine barbecue, "choripan", bife de chorizo and salad. Menu options for vegetarians and celiacs. Drinks included.". The reality - we ate at a restaurant where I had a pay an upcharge to eat the grilled lamb and until someone in our group complained, we were told only one non-alcoholic beverage would be included with our meal.
Great guide, knowledgeable about the history and surrounding areas. It was a fun day. Would have liked to do more off-road driving, not necessarily difficult 4x4 riding, but off the main roads, like the old pass road he showed us. Otherwise a great day outdoors.
Amazing tour, everything was perfect, the visit to the two lakes, the off-road adventure including getting inside the lake, the barbecue was spectacular in a vacuum by the lake. Everything was like that because of Marcos, great driver, amazing cook, and with a wealth of knowledge and facts.
Fantastic time. It was 8 hours of fun along with breathtaking landscapes. Mate our guide and driver was very knowledgeable about the area and truly a wonderful person. In the afternoon we had asada with wine on Fagano Lake. I would recommend this tour to everyone
Exciting 4x4 trip around Lake Fagnano with an excellent guide. The lunch at the cabin was also amazing.
A super fun way to spend the day in Ushuaia. Excellent guide, fun driver, and a great lunch. Lots of laughs with lots of wine. Thank you for an informative and fun day!
Great day trip out of Ushuaia, fantastic scenery and delicious lunch. Our guide Mattias was excellent
Spectacular landscapes and excellent food. The guide was nice, interesting and quite knowledgeable. Terrific cultural tour.
Our 4x4 adventure with Mattie was such a great experience! The whole day was packed with beautiful sights. The highlight though was definitely the lunch stop – we enjoyed some amazing steaks with red wine. Lunch was in a cozy cabin and it started to snow outside, which was magical! Matt was an excellent guide, full of knowledge and really made the trip feel special. The whole day was unforgettable, from the views to the food, and we couldn’t have asked for a better adventure!
A fantastic trip with our outstanding driver Matias who was very experienced and considerate especially over the 4WD track - he kept us informed throughout the journey. Travelling through the Garibaldi pass as we headed out of Ushuaia was the start of a magic day. We stopped for a coffee break at an authentic cafe. Taking the 119 (?) highway we left the road for our 4WD experience which was a lot of fun and we felt very safe. Lunch was an authentic and tasty BBQ cooked beside Lake Fagnano served with wine, water, coke and was more than we expected or could eat. Overall a great experience made special because of the beautiful views, lakes and our driver Matias. We highly recommend this trip
The entire trip was beautiful and a great way to see Ushuaia's snowy surroundings with a few stops at key miradors and at the lake. The 4x4 track itself was really exhilarating. It was definitely not something we could have done without the expertise of our guide driving and for us it was particularly fun because we traveled with a family with two small children who were so delighted at the adventure of the truck spraying up ice. Lunch was absolutely delicious. It was the best lamb we've had in Argentina so far and the flan was perfect. We really enjoyed this trip as a couple but it seemed perfect for the families in our group as well as it was easy but adventurous.
Loved this trip! We continue to to talk about our experience. The lakes were beautiful and the asado was delicious. This has been our favorite so far in Argentina!
Seriously the best excursion we’ve ever been on! Like the behind the scenes of nature with new friends!! Live, life out loud! Amazing!!
This excursion was a lot of bang for the buck. Duration was 9 hours. Our guide was a pleasant fellow born and raised in Ushuaia and his English skills were good. There were five of us, myself and four others from Buenos Aires. I don't speak much Spanish and they didn't speak much English but we had fun trying to converse. Of course, the guide translated a lot. The trip started with a hotel pickup and a couple of stops for photo ops north of Ushuaia. Then we began the off road part. We descended down dirt switchbacks to Hidden Lake and visited a creepy derelict hotel that was abandoned about 30 years ago. As we made our way around the lake we stopped two more times for photo ops. Then we visited a coffee shop to relax and enjoy the placid environment. The second part of the off road was to Lake Fagnano. We went to a rustic setting where lunch was prepared for us. It was very good and I have to say that meal would have cost at least $75 USD in Ushuaia. A vegetarian option was also available. Wine, coke, and water were the drinks of choice. We stayed there a while, enjoyed the Lakeside solitude and then departed for Ushuaia. We stopped one more time at a nature preserve to watch beavers actively building the largest beaver dam I've ever seen. There was a lot of wildlife throughout the trip. We saw Patagonia foxes and parello birds up close, and the beavers. This excursion was at a very relaxed pace. There was a schedule to keep, of course, but nothing was rushed. I would highly recommend this trip to see some of the beauty Tierra Del Fruego has to offer.
Ushuaia has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I walked to another hotel to wait on a 4x4 adventure and the mountains were breathtaking. We drove east into the mountains and then north. We drove through the Bombillo forest. We were on a typical tourist route when we were on hardtop. No one followed off road. Our driver and guide, Mauricio, loves his job. He says he goes on vacation everyday. I spent the day as the only english speaker. Maricio spoke a little. It was a fun trying to learn about one another with Spanglish. I also listened to their conversations via google translate until we lost cell coverage. My travel partners were from Cordova, Argentina, two from Uruguay and two from La Plata. One was a nurse, one retired, one worked as a domestic in a school, one was a factory worker, and another was a ship's captain. We stopped and entered an abandoned house. Anyone up until 20 years ago could bid for a 10 year lease on the property from the government. They shut it down because the septic system was leaking into the lake(seems like they could have fixed that). The scenery around the home would never get tiring. We stopped for a coffee in a community of Escondido. They were roasting a pig. We stopped for an extended period of time at a semi-primitive camp. We ate sausage sandwiches, salad, some steak and a dulce de leche and nectarine dessert. Mauricio went above and beyond. We were treated to carancho (like an eagle), a red fox, and a hawk enjoying our leftover food. The lakes we saw were Hidden lake and Fagnano. The wind blowing off the lake was freezing. On the way back we stopped at a few more scenic spots. We went on a short hike above a beaver pond and watched them swim a little. It was an experience I will remember fondly forever.
Great day, lots of fun. Ramon was great. Of note, there are exactly six seats and all may be occupied, so, don’t take anything you don’t need.
Gonzalo was my guide for this (and a couple other Info de Ushuaia tours). He was excellent and the reason I used this company for several tours with this company during my week in Ushuaia. Riding in an SUV/4x4 over rough tracks, bouncing through puddles and creeks while also listening to Info about the area, what we were seeing, and an excellent lunch. It was a great day.
We enjoyed our day with Freddie, good experience, bbq lunch, and conversation. Enjoyed seeing the inner peninsula and the country side of Ushuaia. Freddie provided good stories and details of Ushuaia.
From start to finish, this was an amazing day -- largely due to our friendly, fun guide Fede! He helped with group photos, told great, informative stories and kept us entertained all day long.
The guide on the day was fun, knowledgeable, entertaining and a pleasure to be with. Thank you Freddy ( the guide ) Paul & K from Australia 👍🙏
This was a beautiful day trip. Our tour guide, Federico, was fantastic. The scenery can’t be beat and lunch was excellent.
Freddie our host was fantastic! Full of information and laughs. Weather wasn’t the best, but still good enough to be amazed by the country. Great lunch with plenty of wine, so all in all a memorable day.
For motor heads like me just perfect! Lakes were nice, all the nature, food was delisious, driver little crazy and absolutely fabulous!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Lago (Lake) Escondido and Lago Fagnano. This was our second visit to Ushuaia and we had already seen alot; we wanted a new and unique experience and this tour did not disappoint. Our guide and driver, Frede, was welcoming and informative, telling us much about the area and the sights we were seeing; the dazzling scenery, the wildlife, the geography, the geology, and the people, from pre-history to the present. Lunch was served toward the end of the tour and it was excellent. Sometimes adversity brings greatness to an even higher level. My wife, Tammy, took a step too far at the top of a 10-meter slope and slid down the steep gravelly dirt, incurring several bruises and scrapes. Frede not only insisted on driving us to a hospital in Ushuaia to ensure her injuries were not serious, he stayed with us until that was confirmed. If we could rate the tour at SIX stars, we would! Many thanks to Frede! Many thanks to Viator, as well.
A really fun, bumpy and speedy journey to the lakes. A lovely lunch next to Lake Cami and got to see some great wildlife on the way.
Amazing and authentic experience! Ramon, Ariel and Charlie made sure we had a great experience in Ushuaia. The guides have a great energy and one can tell they really enjoy being there! Who wouldn’t enjoy driving like in a Dakar race? They told us about the nature here in Ushuaia and answered all of our questions, even personal questions about living here. On top of that they cooked for us a traditional bife de chorizo by the side of the lake. One of the guides even brought local chocolate to share with us.
It was wonderfull, but we were 5 pasengers and it was to.much, the was wery good and the inductor excelent
It was a good trip with a 4wd car. Fine view of Lago Escondido and a nice spot at Lagom Fagnano. I would have liked more explanations about the indigenous people, but overall a good trip
The trip was very good, exuberant landscapes and a good trail Sebastian, our guide, was a sight in himself, with many stories and good humor he presented Ushuaia in a way we never imagined knowing. An excellent driver too. We are very grateful for the experience
Having the opportunity to visit beautiful lakes in the company of a competent guide like Frederick was worth every penny. I highly recommend.
The tour itself leads to very beautiful places and our guide Facundo was excellent, the only uncomfortable part is that 6 people go so it gets a little tight. The landscapes are worth it and it is quite quiet the tour does not have much adventure in itself. Lunch if you eat Cordeiro I didn't think it was worth it and only 1 drink included I would like to have ordered a meat but the skillful time of preparation was 50min and would not give time to eat because it would break the time of the tour, it was super indicative for families and people who like to enjoy good views
Very commercial and not much to see. Very expensive for what it represents. Lunch very commercial place. I wouldn't recommend the tour
The tour is well structured, passes through viewpoints and other points of interest until you reach the Lakes Escondido and Fagnano by secondary roads accessible only by 4x4 cars. We gave bad luck with rain and bad weather but the tour has a lot of potential, I recommend.
