Tour operator contacted me about a change in time for tour several days in advance. She worked very hard to accommodate my needs and ultimately we found a solution. We enjoyed our guide and the tour of Perugia.

Itinerary
Perugia is a city full of charme and history. Every ancient gate, alley, piazza, palazzo and church will capture your imagination; and every museum and gallery will impress you with a sense of history, culture and art. Perugia is not just a stuffy old showcase of the ancient, it also has a young, vibrant and energetic feel. Perugia is the site of many festivals and concerts, the most important of which are the annual fall Chocolate festival and the summer Umbria Jazz festival, lending the city to a chic and urbane atmosphere unmatched by other Italian cities. Meeting point will be at Piazza Italia, from there we will go first exploring the different strata of Rocca Paolina – the so called 'Perugia underground'. Once back to the city centre, there will be a stop at a famous old fashioned but very traditional coffee shop for an espresso or a cappuccino topped with hand whipped cream. The tour will focus on the Fontana Maggiore together with the other buildings standing in the square.
The Rocca Paolina, or Paolina Fortress, is right in the historical centre of Perugia and one can enter via a door at Porta Marzia or the escalator system that connects Piazza Italia with Piazza Partigiani.
Porta Marzia is found inserted like blind arc in the masonry of the rocca Paolina, majestic work of architecture cinquecentesca extended on the vast quarter of colle Landone, southern relief on which rises Perugia.
The upper marble basin has twelve sides divided into twenty-four smooth panels of pink Assisi stone. Each one is separated by an equal number of white Carrara marble statuettes set on ledges between the panels. Some of the figures represent personages from the history of the city and legends, while others are symbolic.
The Cathedral of St. Lawrence is located in the historical centre of Perugia on Piazza IV Novembre, its southern façade facing the square.
The Etruscan Arch or of Augustus is one of the seven doors of the Etruscan walls of Perugia. It was constructed in the second half of the III century a.C. and was made to restructure from Augusto in the 40 a.C. after its victory in the war of Perugia.

An excellent introduction to Perugia tailored exactly to your interests and expectations. Valentina is a very knowledgeable guide ready to dive deeper into any area and provide an incredible amount of fascinating local history.
Werner was an excellent guide. He was so knowledgeable about the many layers of history of Perugia. And since we visited during intense heat, he knew short cuts so that we could be in the shade as much as possible. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on this tour
I would not have known the historical importance and cultural relevance of Perugia if i had not taken this tour. Touring with a local guide is educational , fun. and the best way to learn about a city. Michele, our guide, a local, was amazing!
Historical walking tour in English of Perugia with Michele a Perugia native. Top guide knowledgeable relaxed fluid tour.
My wife and I used Perugia as our base to visit Umbria. The guided tour was an excellent way to learn about Perugia before touring to see other towns.
Excellent tour with Paolo who is very erudite and steeped in the culture, history, art and philosophy of the region. Wear good walking shoes!
Loved the tour, especially the "underground city". Patrizia was knowledgeable and enthusiastic............................
Our guide Marco shared the history of Perugia with great expertise and humor. Every event from our meet up to our good bye was efficient. We enjoyed every minute!
It was very disappointing when our English speaking guide arrived and could barely speak English. While she seemed to be a lovely person, we could only understand about 25% of what she was saying. When she couldn’t think of a date, she would say “building, very old”. I’m not sure what can be done to assure that an English speaking guide is fluent in English
Antonella was one of the best guides I ever had. Her historical knowledge was amazing and she shared perspectives from her own research that enriched and enlightened the experience. I was very lucky to have found her and highly recommend her tour!
Excellent tour.she was so knowledgeable, easy to understand and passionate about her city. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, learned a lot and appreciated her information
The guide was very good and knowledgeable Perugia was more beautiful than we expected Our guide recommended a great restaurant for lunch
Excellent guide with excellent historical and cultural skills. Excellent also the 'organization of the tour that allows you to understand in a simple but exhaustive when presented.
Discovering Perugia with our guide as a cicerone was a delicious experience, as it showed us and explained the origins and formation of the city, as well as its history and gastronomy. Great experience
exceptional and competent guide. the whole morning with her until 1pm, after advice for the afternoon and where to eat.
Herzlichen Dank Hans Landolt
